(Minghui.org) The article “How Humankind Came To Be” written by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, is the most-read article on Minghui.org in 2023. It received 70% more views than the second most-read article, “Cultivation in Dafa Is Serious,” which is also written by Mr. Li and meant specifically to guide Falun Dafa practitioners’ cultivation.
The article “How Humankind Came To Be” was published on January 20, 2023, prior to the Chinese New Year. Mr. Li wrote, “New Year’s would normally be a time for sharing a few pleasant remarks about the occasion. But I am seeing imminent danger approaching humanity, and have been called upon by divine beings to pass along, for this reason, several things to everyone in this world. Each of what I am about to disclose is a higher, closely guarded secret, and these are being shared to provide a true picture of affairs, and to give people another chance at salvation.”
The most-read articles in 2022 and 2021 were Mr. Li’s articles “To the Czecho-Slovak Fa Conference” (2022) and “Wake Up” (2021). “To the Czecho-Slovak Fa Conference” had a similar number of views as “Cultivation in Dafa Is Serious,” and “Wake Up” received 49% more views than “To the Czecho-Slovak Fa Conference.”
The differences in view counts reflect various topics of focus by Falun Dafa practitioners, who are one of three main groups of readers of the website. The other two groups are people interested in learning Falun Dafa and communist regime officials who participate in the persecution in China. The popularity of “How Humankind Came To Be,” which isn’t a practitioner-facing article, reflects a strong interest from the general public.
A Gift to Humankind
Joel Etienne, a lawyer in Toronto, Canada, said the article “How Humankind Came To Be” was the best New Year’s gift to humankind.
Etienne said he was filled with joy and excitement as he read the “How Humankind Came To Be.” “I think it was a blessing for us to receive this article,” he explained. “I thought it was resonant. I thought it was extremely important.”
The article is not long, but Etienne’s family spent hours discussing it. “It shows you the strength and the care of every word and the importance of every word that came with it,” Etienne said. “It’s unlocking a very complicated puzzle.” He was gratified to be able to obtain such a key.

Hyunjeon Hong of South Korea attended a discussion at the Tianti Bookstore on March 19, 2023, after reading the article. She said the article highlighted the importance of being kind. “We should respect divine beings and help one another. The article can guide people to return to their kind nature. I kept reading it and tried to memorize it.”
Hyunjeon Hong said that reading “How Mankind Came To Be” can help people be kind to others.
Chen Lina, a city councilor in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, was deeply inspired after reading the article. “Many people may have asked themselves, ‘What is the purpose of human beings in this world?’ But no one can explain it clearly. In many religions, there are more or less discussions about this topic, but they are all abstract. Master Li is the first one to explain this matter so clearly.”

The younger sister of a Falun Dafa practitioner in China also shared her thoughts after reading the article.
“I’m the youngest child in my family. From junior high school to university, I excelled. I was surrounded by people who had relatively happy lives and a certain social status, so I lived a content, peaceful life.
“After Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), launched the persecution of Falun Dafa in 1999, I could no longer enjoy my life of ease. My older sister is a practitioner and has been persecuted many times by the CCP for not giving up her belief. I even hoped that my sister would stop practicing as I thought no one could withstand that powerful government. I thought, when one is at a disadvantage, isn’t he a fool not to adapt? However, I never pressured my sister to stop practicing. I saw how she became selfless after she began practicing Falun Dafa and how her health improved.
“More than 20 years have passed, and my heart has gone up and down due to the persecution. Every time my sister is persecuted, I’m involved. Even now, my phone number is under surveillance by the CCP personnel, who harass me from time to time. From the beginning of being nervous that my sister would be arrested to later being terrified that she would be beaten to death, I’ve had countless worries and pains. However, looking at my sister, what can I say? People who practice Falun Dafa do not oppose the CCP. They just warn people, ‘The CCP is about to collapse. If you quit the CCP organizations, you will not be implicated.’ Is this wrong?
“When the pandemic started in 2020, I thought the CCP would finally disintegrate as a result. But many of those who died were ordinary people, and the CCP still continues to harm people. Year after year has passed, and I’ve become a little numb: When will the CCP collapse? When will I not have to live in fear? Finally, Jiang Zemin died, and then a large number of high-level CCP personnel also began to die.
“I was happily waiting for the CCP to perish! This Chinese New Year [2023], my older sister showed me the article, ‘How Humankind Came to Be’ written by Falun Dafa’s founder, which is addressed to all human beings. I was stunned: Ah, so human beings are like this! I’m alive during this time only because I am lucky enough to encounter Falun Dafa today and be saved. Everything is arranged by the divine. Being a human being is really a blessing.
“‘How Humankind Came to Be’ reveals human beings’ true story and helps me understand who we are and why my sister has been able to persevere in her faith. My sister said that Master had told Falun Dafa practitioners everything more than 20 years ago. Everything that practitioners do is to save people. It has nothing to do with politics or political power.”
