610 Office Agents in Pingdu, Shandong Province Harass Practitioners and Entice People to Commit Crimes

March 18, 2012 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent in Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Since early 2012, agents from the Pingdu City 610 Office in Shandong Province have continuously harassed Falun Gong practitioners, tore down New Year couplets carrying truth clarification messages, and arbitrarily arrested practitioners. They have ransacked their homes and confiscated personal belongings. Many “notifications” have recently appeared all over Pingdu City. According to the notifications, a large amount of money is being offered to entice people to report Falun Gong practitioners and interfere with their efforts to clarify the truth and save people.

Since January, officers from police stations in Pingdu City have colluded with Pingdu City 610 Office agents to arrest and harass practitioners. The situation in Zhugou Town, Wanjia Town, and Renzhao Town is especially bad.

Ms. Li Li from Pingdu City was arrested at a market in Xiangdian on January 13, 2012. A group of police officers ruthlessly beat her, forcibly took a blood sample from her, subjected her to a physical examination, and detained her for three days.

Starting on Chinese New Year, 2012, Pingdu City 610 Office agents and Zhugou Town Party head Liu Baoguo began colluding with Zhugou Police Station head Yang Linbo and more than 20 officers. They frequently went to the villages to destroy people's New Year couplets. While they were there, if they came across a practitioner's home, they entered it and took their personal belongings and arrested the practitioners.

On February 8, Mr. Li Dewei tried to persuade the police not to rip up his New Year couplets, but he was arrested. On February 11, Liu Baoguo and several others went to Ms. Zhang Meiyue's home to destroy her New Year couplets. Ms. Zhang tried to stop them, but they rushed into her home and took away her computer, printer, and other personal belongings.

Three agents from the Pingdu City 610 Office went to Qiegezhuang Village in Zhugou Town to vandalize New Year couplets at around 11:00 on February 11, 2012. When they walked up to the door of Ms. Zhang Yuemei's home, two of the agents ripped up her New Year couplets, and one broke into Ms. Zhang's home. He took her computer, a printer, and other personal belongings. The village head helped him steal her things.

Since March 5, several of these “notifications” appeared on the major streets in residential areas, villages of townships, and towns in Pingdu City. The notifications state that if anyone finds someone posting or distributing truth clarification materials, he or she must capture or report them to the police. A reward of 1,000 yuan is offered for each person caught, 1 yuan for seizing one copy of Falun Gong informational materials, and 5,000-10,000 yuan for reporting a materials production site to the police. The perpetrators publicly entice people with large sums of money to get involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
