Mr. Sun Changjun, the Only Survivor of the Falun Gong Cable TV Broadcasts in Changchun City, on the Verge of Death

Name: Sun Changjun(孙长军) (Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Sun Changjun, 35, was among those
who were arrested and severely punished after a successful attempt
to broadcast videos explaining the true situation about the
persecution of Falun Gong over cable TV in China's Changchun City.
The broadcasts, which occurred in March 2002, involved tapping into
the state-run cable TV network and pre-empting regular programming.
Mr. Sun was sentenced to 17 years in prison and is being held in
Jilin Prison. The long-term brutal mistreatment has left him with a
severe case of tuberculosis, and he is as thin as a skeleton and
dying. Background In the context of widespread Chinese Communist Party propaganda
devised to demonize Falun Gong in the eyes of the public, several
Falun Gong practitioners in Changchun decided to tap into the
state-run cable TV network to broadcast information explaining the
truth about Falun Gong. At around 8:00 p.m. on March 5, 2002, Falun Gong truth clarification videos including "Falun Dafa Around the World," and
"Self-immolation or Staged Act?" were broadcasted for about 50
minutes on eight channels of the Changchun City cable TV network.
The Changchun City Cable TV Network Company has 300,000 subscribers
and more than one million viewers. The incident created shockwaves
in the public, and many people learned the truth about the
persecution of Falun Gong. Jiang Zemin, the top CCP official who started the persecution,
was shocked and angered, and issued a secret order to "kill [those
responsible for the incident] without pardon." Police officers from
Jilin Province quickly arrested more than 5,000 Falun Gong
practitioners in Changchun City. During the arrests, at least seven
were beaten to death and 15 were sentenced to between four years
and 20 years in prison. Mr. Liang Zhenxing and Mr. Liu Chengjun
were each sentenced to 19 years in prison, and Mr. Lei Ming to 17
years. They have all died as a result of torture while
imprisoned. Brutal Torture Mr. Sun Changjun was sent to the Jilin Prison's Tenth Ward on
October 25, 2002. That same night, instigated by guard Li
Yongsheng, inmates Wu Shaochen, Cui Lijun, and Han Mingjun (who has
since been released) beat Mr. Sun savagely with rubber tubes and
broke one of his ribs. On September 23, 2003, Mr. Sun wrote a solemn declaration to
renounce his previously written "four statements" (similar to the
three statements). Guards Wei Xianghui and Cui Longzhe of the
Tenth Ward mistreated Mr. Sun in the "Strict Control Unit" for over
70 days. Mr. Sun lost over 20 kilograms (around 45 pounds). In July 2004, guard Wang Yuanchun tried to force Mr. Sun to talk
with Jilin Province 610 Office agent Zhang Anshan, but Mr. Sun
refused. Wang threatened Mr. Sun, saying that he would put him
under "strict control" again. In July 2005, Mr. Sun vomited blood due to having pleural
cavities in both lungs, which indicated his tuberculosis was
already in the late stages. In November 2007, Mr. Sun's symptoms got even worse. He also
suffered from fluid in his chest and abdomen. He should have been
bailed out for medical treatment a long time prior, but the prison
administration refused to release him. In March 2011, Mr. Sun's symptoms got worse. He is skin and
bones and on the verge of death. The prison administration still
refuses to let him bail out for medical treatment because he will
not write any statements to renounce Falun Gong. We're calling for help worldwide to get Mr. Sun out of
