(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Sihua from Magang Town, Tongcheng County was arrested on May 20, 2008, by officers from the Magang Police Station, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution. She was later held in the county's detention center.

Detention center head Liu Xingzhi and a guard surnamed Zhou verbally abused Ms. Jiang, and beat her so badly that her entire body was black and blue. After two months of abuse and mistreatment Ms. Jiang became emaciated, and her weight dropped from 53kg (117 lbs.) to 35kg (77 lbs.).

On July 28, 2008, Liu Xingzhi claimed he would take Ms. Jiang to have a physical check-up at the Wuhan People's Hospital, and then release her on medical parole. But on the way there, he got out of the vehicle and the deputy head of the detention center took Ms. Jiang directly to the Wuhan Women's Prison. Ms. Jiang was extremely weak, without a penny or any clothes with her, because all her clothing and more than 600 yuan were left at the detention center.

Moreover, the detention center officials didn't inform her family about her imprisonment. It took the family more than two months to find out where she had been taken.

Ms. Jiang was held in the prison for two years and nine months. After she was released this year, she went to the detention center to ask for her money and clothing back, but the officials did not want to return them to her. Ms. Jiang told them that if they didn't return her money she would sue them for their wrongdoings. They were afraid that their crimes would be exposed, and finally returned the money to Ms. Jiang.

Commonly used torture methods in the Wuhan Women's Prison include two detainees being assigned to monitor each practitioner, and practitioners being forbidden from talking to others. Practitioners are often forced to stand for a long time. Detainees arbitrarily beat and curse practitioners. Practitioners are subjected to long hours of forced labor and sleep deprivation.
