(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Ye Liwei is a high school English language teacher at the Liangyang Secondary School, in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province. On September 15, 2011, moments after she arrived at school, she was arrested by local police authorities and taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center. She has been imprisoned there for over a month.

Ms. Ye Liwei has always been a well-respected and favored teacher among students and colleagues at Liangyang Secondary School. Especially after she began practicing Falun Gong and living by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she was known for her morality and work ethic.

During the morning reading session on September 15, 2011, when Ms. Ye had just arrived at the school, she was picked up and taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP), well aware that its persecution will incur the wrath of mankind if made known to the world, did everything clandestinely. Even now the school authorities refuse to reveal the names of those who took Ms. Ye away. Most teachers and students are not even aware of the incident.

When Ms. Ye was being taken away, Hu Fuji, chief of the school office, accompanied her to the brainwashing center. It was only after he returned at nine o'clock that he stated that Ms. Ye had been taken to “class” (the brainwashing center).

The school refused to meet with Ms. Ye's family after the incident. When her family started calling, they answered that the school had sent someone to the brainwashing center, also known as the “Rule of Law School,” and were told it would be over a month before anyone could see Ms. Ye.

On October 10, 25 days after her arrest, “educators” from the brainwashing center called Ms. Ye's family, and told them that Ms. Ye had developed a severe health problem.

On October 12, Hu Fuji went to the brainwashing center to see Ms. Ye again. He extorted 500 yuan from Ms. Ye's family, along with her winter clothes, and said that because the school needed Ms. Ye right away and the students wanted to see her back, the school planned to bring her back. When Ms. Ye's family members asked to come along, Hu turned them down on grounds that he was going to Guangzhou City and would visit Ms. Ye on his return trip.

On October 14, Ms. Ye's family contacted Hu by phone and asked about Ms. Ye's current condition. Hu replied that her situation was very good. He said she had started eating and for each meal the brainwashing center provided four dishes and one soup. Ms. Ye's family asked, “Four days ago the 'educators' said that she was in critical condition, but now you're saying that she's doing well. Isn't that contradictory? What is the truth?” Hu muttered a few words and hung up the phone.

Ms. Ye had previously been arrested on January 2, 2010, for distributing flyers that exposed the truth behind the persecution of Falun Gong. At 6:00 p.m. that day, seven men from the Yangdong County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division broke into her home, and arrested her and stole her belongings. The next day, the Yangdong County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division transferred her to the Baisha Detention Center in Yangjiang City. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution for 15 days. A month later, without signing any guarantee statement forsaking her beliefs, she was released.

In the summer of 2011, many practitioners in Yangjiang were subjected to differing degrees of harassment. Ms. Ye, in particular, was severely harassed at school by Yangjiang 610 Office deputy chief He Han, Jiangcheng District 610 Office member Liu Huacheng, Jiangcheng District 610 Office deputy chief Huang Xianhua, and Municipal Education Bureau members, as well as members of the local community Party Council, claiming they were helping her to “transform her thoughts.” He Han, in particular, cursed Ms. Ye and threatened her in front of the school authorities in the principal's office. He threatened, “If you don't write the five guarantee statements, you only have two choices. One, to be 'transformed' in school, or two, to be 'transformed' in a local brainwashing center and removed from your job.” Ms. Ye patiently explained the lies behind the persecution and told them that their actions were illegal. He Han knew that his actions were forbidden under Chinese law and asked Liu Huacheng to write down his words before leaving with his gang of hooligans.

On September 15, 2011, the 610 Office ordered agents to arrest Ms. Ye and take her to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center.
