Mr. Wang Gang, a practitioner from West Weituo Village, Zhuozhou City was tortured and his leg was amputated in June 2005. When prison guard Fan Jianli beat Mr. Wang, a blood vessel in the inner side of Mr. Wang's right leg burst, causing him to lose a large amount of blood. The next morning, Mr. Wang's right leg turned black and blue. The prison authorities had his leg amputated without his family's consent. After the surgery, they held him in the Xinsheng Hospital detention room and specially-assigned personnel kept monitoring him. No one else was allowed to get close to the detention room and people often heard Mr. Wang yelling from the room, "I want freedom."

Prior to 1999, Ms. Wan's husband, daughter, son, and daughter-in-law all started practicing Falun Gong. Their health improved and the family environment became harmonious. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Wan's son, daughter-in-law and daughter were arrested and detained and had to leave their home to avoid further persecution after their release. Ms. Wan and her husband went to Beijing in 2000 to appeal for Falun Gong and were detained for 7 days and fined 3,000 yuan. Under the intense pressure of the persecution, Ms. Wan passed away in August 2001. At the time, her daughter and son were still detained in prison and her daughter-in-law was homeless, wandering the streets to avoid further persecution.

Five years after Ms. Wan's death, her daughter-in-law Ms. Wang Liqun was arrested by the Shuangcheng City Nation Security Team and tortured to death in just one day. At the time, Ms. Wan's son was homeless and out of town, and was not even able to attend his wife's funeral.

Practitioner Mr. Yu Huaicai from Hulan District of Harbin City is detained in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. He went on a hunger strike and was sent to Harbin First University's Second Hospital for emergency treatment. Afterwards, he was sent back to Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp's 5th Team for further persecution. Currently, his hair has turned white and his health has deteriorated drastically. Practitioner Ms. Li Min is detained in Daqing Prison. She is now showing symptoms of cerebral thrombus (a blood clot that stays in place in the brain) resulting from torture and cannot take care of herself.

At around 1:00 p.m. on March 28, 2007, the First Squadron of the Fourth Team in Jiamusi City Prison held a conference for former practitioner Chen Bin, who had been "transformed." Practitioner Mr. Sang Chuan refused to attend and was beaten by Deng Shuliang, head of the First Squadron, and Liang Zhen, political instructor of the First Squadron. The guards then handcuffed Mr. Sang to a gate in the hallway. Guards Teng Shuliang and Liang Zhenming used two electric batons to shock Mr. Sang's head, neck, and other body parts. After the electric shocks, the guards cuffed both of his hands from behind, attached the cuffs to a radiator, and forced him to squat down on the floor. They then continued to shock him with two batons for a total of over one hour.

Jilin City practitioner Ms. Yao Guifeng, 57, works in a bank. On April 6, 2007, Ms. Yao was illegally arrested by officers of the Weichang Police Station of Yi District, Jilin City.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Xu Xuecun Sent to Fushun City Brainwashing Center to be Tortured

Practitioner Mr. Xu Xuecun, 47, is a resident of Hujia Village, Shuangdao Bay, Lushunkou District, Dalian City. While posting truth-clarification materials, he was reported to the police. The police arrested him and sent him to the Fushun City Brainwashing Center in Liaoning City.

Around 8:30 p.m. on April 11, 2007, Li Xiaotong, captain of the Yitong County National Security Section, led a group of policemen and broke into practitioner Ms. Pei Yuhua's home. They searched her home and arrested her.

On March 28, 2007, nine young female practitioners were arrested by officers of the National Security Section in Dalian City and sent to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province.

Practitioner Ms. Qi Wenbin from Sifangtai Mine Field of Shuangyashan City was sent to Suihua Forced Labor Camp to be tortured by the Sifangtai Police Bureau Branch on April 12, 2007.

11. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] The 610 Office Arrested Practitioners Ms. Wu Shumei and Ms. Zhang Yanru

On the evening of March 31, 2007, officers from Yichun City's 610 Office arrested practitioners Ms. Wu Shumei and Ms. Zhang Yanru. Their homes were searched and many Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated. After Ms. Wu's family members demanded her release, she was fined 5,000 yuan and then released.

On the evening of April 11, 2007, practitioner Ms. Miao Shubao was arrested for posting truth-clarification materials. She was detained at Xidajie Street Police Station of Yantai City. Her husband could not take care of himself and was left home unattended.

Ms. Miao's daughter Ms. Miao Hongyan and others went to the police station on April 12 to request her release. The police detained also Ms. Miao Hongyan. The 2,000 to 3,000 yuan in her purse that she was going to use to buy goods was confiscated. Her van, which is used for business purposes, was also confiscated and her home was ransacked. Her computer and a large amount of private property were confiscated. Ms. Miao Hongyan is currently detained in the Xingfushiliu Village Brainwashing Center.

14. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Shi Chunni Sentenced to Forced Labor

In 2004, Ms. Shi Chunni, a practitioner from Wendeng City, was arrested by Wang Yongjian and others from the National Security Section of Wendeng City. She has been sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment. Her husband has suffered mentally and is now hospitalized and on the verge of death.

On March 23, 2007, the local police went to Mr. Liu Heyu's home and forced his wife Ms. Chen Guixiang to sign a paper showing Mr. Liu's forced labor term sentence. Now Mr. Liu is detained in the Ju'an County Detention Center.

Ms. Jiang Yan, a practitioner living at No. 32 Xiaogang Street of Qingdao City, was arrested at her home on March 21, 2007. She is now detained in the Dashan Detention Center of Qingdao City. Her family's visit to the detention center was denied and they were asked to pay 100,000 yuan for her release.

Practitioners Ms. Xu Jinying and Ms. Li Yinglan are residents of Jingzhi Street, Jingzhi Town, Anqiu City. On around April 7, 2007, they were arrested at home by several policemen from the Jingzhi Town Police Station. Their current whereabouts are unknown. 20. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested and Their Current Whereabouts Unknown

On March 22, 2007, several practitioners from Zhenzhou City were reported to the police while they were promoting the campaign of quitting the CCP and its associated organizations. They were arrested by the Zhenzhou City National Security Bureau and their homes were ransacked. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

On March 19, 2007, Ms. Zhou Jianzhong was transferred to Dujun Prison in Guizhou Province to be tortured.

22. [Sichuan Province] Police Officers from Yibin City and Chongqing City Secretly Sentenced Five Practitioners

In early 2006, 11 practitioners from Chongqing City of Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province and Yibin City of Sichuan were arrested while they were clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in Louba Town, Yibin County, Yibin City. Among them, 5 practitioners, including Mr. Shen Zhiqing, Mr. Li Yuanrong, and Mr. Xia, were detained in Yibin County Detention Center and persecuted for 9 months, then sentenced secretly to prison terms by the Chongqing City and Yibin City police. Their prison terms are 6 years, 5 years, and 4.5 years respectively. On March 9, they were sent to Wumaping Prison in Leshan City, Sichuan Province for further persecution.

23. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Elementary School Student and Family Persecuted for Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials

In early April 2007, a student from Gaodong Village Elementary School distributed Falun Gong materials to fellow students. The school teachers and the principal found out and reported the student to the Zhongyi Police Station in Yanjiang District, Ziyang City. The student was interrogated for a period of two class sessions and said that he/she took the materials from his/her mother's basket. Later, four of the school teachers and two policemen from the local station, along with the Gaodong Village head and Communist Party Committee head, went to the student's home to take photos and threaten the family.

At around 9 o'clock on the morning of April 12, 2007, Mr. Wang Ancai, a practitioner from the power supplies workshop of the Panzhihua City Steel Company power factory, was reported to the local police and arrested while still at work.

On around April 2, 2007, practitioner Ms. Wang Yun was reported to local authorities while she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested by Changsha City police officers and sent to a brainwashing center for 10 days. Sheá had been previously sentenced to one year of forced labor in June 2004 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Now the local police are using that as an excuse to send her once again to the Hunan Province Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Li Sufang, 67, a practitioner from the Qijiang County Songzao Mine Company of Chongqing City, started practicing Falun Gong in August 1996. Many of her illnesses disappeared a short time after beginning to practice Falun Gong. On April 11, 2007, Ms. Li was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong during the Ganshui Town Fair. She was reported to the local authorities and subsequently arrested by Ganshui Town police officers. That afternoon, her home was ransacked and Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated.

27. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Peng Xiaolan Detained in Nanchang City Third Detention Center

Ms. Peng Xiaolan, a practitioner from Nanchang City, was reported to the local authorities on the afternoon of April 9, 2007 while she was distributing Falun Gong materials at Nanchang University. She was arrested by Nanchang University Security and is now detained in the Nanchang Third Detention Center.

On February 28, 2007, Mr. Zhou Yiqun, a practitioner from Chengdu City, and Mr. Tu Qiyao were sentenced by the Wuhou District Court of Chengdu City to 2.5 years and 2 years of prison respectively on the falsified charge of "leaking national secrets."

On the afternoon of March 31, 2007, Ms. Yu Meilan, a practitioner from Anyi County, Jiangxi Province, and Ms. Yu Shuimei were arrested in the neighboring Jingan County while they were clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. They currently are detained in Fengxin County. Mr. Du Cha, a practitioner from Nanchang City, was arrested at his home by the local police and his Falun Gong materials were confiscated.
