Today's report includes incidents of persecution that took place in 30 cities or counties in 12 provinces. Seventeen practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 41 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Mr. Zhao Zengqiang and Mr. Li Tiekui Held in Custody
At around 8:00 p.m. on September 28, 2007, five police officers broke into practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiaohua's home. Ms. Zhang managed to escape, and practitioners Mr. Zhao Zengqiang and Mr. Li Tiekui, who were at her home, were taken to the Linghai City Police Department. Around midnight, the two practitioners were taken to the Linghai City Detention Center.

2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Aiping and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
At around 11:00 a.m. on September 23, 2007, several officers from the Guangzhou City Police Department and from the Zhuji Police Station in the Tianhe District broke into several homes. Officers took into custody two young practitioners, Li and Pen (gender unknown), from a rented room in the Zhucun area. The police also took possession of all the valuables in the room.
The same afternoon, the police took into custody from a rented room in Tangxia Village practitioners Ms. Zhang Aiping and Ms. Wu.
3. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Ms. Wei Cuixia and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
Last week, practitioner Ms. Wei Cuixia of the Jiaozhou City Performing Troupe was turned into the police for clarifying the truth. She was taken into custody by the 610 Office and is being held at the Detention Center of the Jiaozhou City Police Department.
On the afternoon of September 26, 2007, the police suddenly smashed open the door of Mr. Huang Yuqiang's home. They took into custody Mr. Huang's wife and their son, Mr. Huang Bo. Mr. Huang's wife managed to escape at 3:00 a.m. on September 27. Mr. Huang Bo remains in custody at the Fu'an Police Station.
4. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiang Cheng and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
At around midnight on September 25, 2007, a dozen or so police officers from the Nong'an County Police Department and the local police station broke into Mr. Jiang Quande's home. Mr. Jiang is currently being held at the Gongzhuling Prison. The police took into custody his son, Mr. Jiang Cheng; Ms. Sun Xiuying and her son; and Mr. Fang Jinghui, who lives next door. The officers also confiscated all Falun Dafa books.
5. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Xingcai and Other Practitioners Taken to Forced Labor Camp
This morning, the Yanji City Police Department took Mr. Zhang Xingcai and other practitioners to the Heizuizi and Jiutai Forced Labor Camps.
6. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Min Remains in Custody at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Jin Min, a practitioner from Tonghua City, received a 50-day extension on her sentence. At the end of the extension period, the labor camp authorities still refused to let her husband take her home. The authorities did not even allow her husband to visit her.
7. [Hebei Province] Xiong County Officials to Destroy Satellite Dishes and Deprive People Access to Information
On September 27, 2007, officials held meetings in Xiong County, Hebei Province. At 7:00 p.m. people were sent out to the local residents' homes to ask whether they had satellite dishes or whether they were going to have one installed. The officials' intended to destroy any satellite antennas that were capable of receiving programs from New Tang Dynasty Television. This would deprive local residents access to the information the station had to offer.
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Deng Yuanyuan Missing for Two Months
Ms. Deng Yuanyuan, a practitioner from the Shiqiaopu area in Chongqing, is an employee in the kindergarten at the Shiqiaopu Clock and Watch Factory. She has been missing for over two months.
9. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Numerous Practitioners Taken into Custody
At around 9:00 p.m. on September 23, 2007, many practitioners in Changde City were taken into custody. The authorities have denied their families visitation.
10. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Police Try to Locate Mr. Luo Wen by Resorting to Deceit and Coercion
Mr. Luo worked for the Huangshi Railroad Bureau before he was forced to leave town. Recently, officials of the Huangshi Railroad Bureau went to Mr. Luo's wife's work unit. They told her to contact her husband because they wanted him to return to work. When she asked the officials whether they would guarantee the safety of Mr. Huang's life, the officials stuttered. The next day, the authorities sent two other people to the home of the sister-in-law of Mr. Huang's wife and questioned them as to the whereabouts of Mr. Huang.
11. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yunlan Taken into Custody
Before lunch time on September 26, 2007, the police took away practitioner Ms. Wang Yunlan. The officers also confiscated her personal computer and other items.
12. [Hebi City, Henan Province] A Practitioner Taken into Custody
On the evening of September 26, 2007, a practitioner (gender unknown) was cleaning up slogans that slandered Falun Dafa and poisoned peoples minds in Xibachang Village, Hebi City. The practitioner was taken away. The practitioner's whereabouts are unknown.
13. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Persecution of Ms. Zhang Ping and Her Daughters
Ms. Zhang Ping, 76, is a practitioner in Rizhao City. She has been held in custody since June 1, 2007. Wang Wei (male), the newly appointed head of the 610 Office, and Li Qiang (male), president of Donggang District Hospital in Rizhao City, were actively engaged in the persecution of Ms. Zhang Ping and her family members. Ms. Zhang's older daughter has been forced to leave town and is homeless. Ms. Zhang's younger daughter works at the hospital. Her bonus has been suspended.
14. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Practitioners under Surveillance During October 1 National Day Holiday Season
Sources report that on September 26, 2007, the Dingzhou City government called in the leaders of smaller townships and towns and verbally notified them to keep a close eye on practitioners during the October 1 National Day holiday season. Based on a compiled list with detailed information on these practitioners, local officials were to monitor and follow the practitioners .
15. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] A Dozen or So Practitioners Taken into Custody
At around 8:00 p.m. on September 27, 2007, numerous officers from the Fulongquan Town Police Station broke into practitioners' homes and took into custody Mr. Yu Jingwen, Mr. Zhao Xiang, and other practitioners.
16. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Debo Brutally Tortured by Labor Camp Guards
At 4:30 p.m. on August 9, 2007, male labor camp guards Li Gongming, Liu Zhonghao, and Song Nan in the Wangcun No. 2 Men's Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City inhumanly beat practitioner Mr. Sun Debo. Li Gongmin slapped Mr. Sun's face with a shoe until Mr. Sun's face became swollen. Song Nan smeared balm oil on the tip of Mr. Sun's penis. Song had also smeared balm oil into Mr. Sun's eyes in the past.
17. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Ms. Zhang Hongyan and Mr. Ruan Baoxiang Taken into Custody
At 4:00 p.m. on September 27, 2007, Ms. Zhang Hongyan was taken away from her home by officers from the Political Security Section of Haizhou Police Department and from the Zhanqian Police Station. Officers also searched Ms. Zhang's home. Mr. Ruan Baoxiang was unlawfully taken into custody by officers from the same organizations.

18. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Ms. Du Shanying and Her Son Taken into Custody
On the evening of September 27, 2007, police took into custody Ms. Du Shanying from Jiaozhou City under the jurisdiction of Qingdao City and her son. The officers damaged a steel security gate as well as a door. The whereabouts of Ms. Du and her son are unknown.
19. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Mr. Fang Yunbao Taken into Custody
On September 27, 2007, the Wenbao Police Department, the Luojiashan Police Station, and the Security Section of the Hubei Finance and Economics Institute deceived Mr. Fang Yunbao and took him to the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center. The police also took away from Mr. Fang's home in Wuhan City a personal computer, an address book with telephone numbers, and other materials.
20. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hou Xiaohui Held at Women's Prison
On March 1, 2003, Ms. Hou Xiaohui, a practitioner in Fushun City, was unlawfully arrested by officers from the No. 1 Division. She was abused in a facility named Xiaobailou for 40 days, then transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center. Later she was sent to the Dabei Prison in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, where she is serving a term of 12 years. Due to the relocation of the prison, Ms. Hou was transferred to the Prison Complex, which is made up of four prisons. She is being held in the Women's Prison.
21. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Ms. Tang Shulian Taken into Custody
On the morning of September 26, 2007, Ms. Tang Shulian from Chenxiangtun Town in the Sujiatun District, Shenyang City, was turned in to the police while she was clarifying the truth. She was taken into custody by officers from the local police station. The officers searched her home the same afternoon and confiscated a photocopier, several Falun Dafa books, truth-clarification materials, deposit receipts, and the title to her home. Ms. Tang's whereabouts are unknown.
22. [Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Taken into Custody by Huidong County 610 Office
At around midnight on September 22, 2007, Huang Wensheng (male) and a dozen or so other police officers from the Huidong County 610 Office and the state security division took into custody Mr. Zheng Guiyou, Ms. Wu Zhujun, and another practitioner, who is also from Huidong County. The practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.
23. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Three More Practitioners Taken into Custody
Practitioners Mr. Zhang Xinguo from Zhang Village in Bianma Township and Mr. Zhang Shutang and his wife from Yuanbao Township in Wei County were taken into custody on August 23 and September 18 respectively. Since July 2007, over 20 practitioners in Wei County have been taken into custody. Those who have been unlawfully taken to labor camps are Mr. Geng Shuxiang, Ms. Guo Hailian, Ms. You Yufang, Ms. Cui Hexiang (released on medical parole), and Ms. She Qin. The families of many other practitioners have had significant amounts of money extorted from them. Eight practitioners remain in unlawful detention.
24. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiang Laying and Ms. Yang Shuzhen Taken into Custody
Ms. Yang Shuzhen, in her 50s, is from Shimen County, Changde City. She was taken away by two plainclothes officers when she opened the door to her home early on the morning of September 25, 2007.
Ms. Xiang Laying, in her 70s, is from Shimen County, Changde City. She was taking a rest at home on the afternoon of September 25, 2007. At around 2:00 p.m., Jia Zhenhan (male), deputy chief of the county police department and head of the State Security Team, and a dozen or so officers arrived in two vehicles at Ms. Xiang's home. The officers forced their way into her home and unlawfully searched the premises. They confiscated two televisions, two personal computers, and a printer, which totaled over 10,000 yuan. The search lasted from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Officers also took Ms. Xiang away when they left.
Practitioners Ms. Xiang Laying and Ms. Yang Shuzhen are being held at the county detention center.
25. [Liaoning Province] Officials at Jinzhou Forced Labor Institute Deny Mr. Liu Yuan's Wife the Right to Visit
On September 5, 2007, Mr. Liu Yuan's family went to visit him at the Jinzhou Forced Labor Institute but were denied entry. Mr. Liu is a practitioner from the Goubangzi area in Liaoning Province. On September 27, Mr. Liu's wife, daughter, and other family members went to the labor camp again. Ms. Liu's wife held her daughter in her arms and clarified the truth to the guards from 9:00 a.m. to noon, but Li Songtao (male) did not allow any of them entrance to the labor camp.
26. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Unlawfully Held at Changli County Detention Center
Numerous practitioners are being held at the Changli County Detention Center in Qinhuangdao City. It is reported that most of the elderly practitioners are from Qinhuangdao City. The majority of them are elderly ladies.

27. [Hebei Province] Boye County Television Station Instigates People to Commit Crimes Against Falun Dafa
After 7:30 p.m. on September 27, 2007, the Boye County Television Station in Hebei Province ran captions advertising a telephone hot-line number for people to call to turn in practitioners who post or distribute truth-clarification materials. Informers are to receive cash rewards ranging from 100 yuan to 1,000 yuan. The hot-line number is: 86-13383621001
28. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Practitioner Ms. Tian Zhongfeng Unlawfully Sent to Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Tian Zhongfeng from Hefei City has recently been sentenced to two years of forced labor. She is being held at the Anhui Province Women's Forced Labor Camp.
29. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Xiuying and Other Practitioners Harassed by Police; Some Taken into Custody
On September 27, 2007, the police from Shuangyashan City and Jixian County went to Youyi County for a secret meeting to work out the details of a coordinated campaign of persecution. At 4:30 a.m. on September 28, the police went to quite a few practitioners' homes in the urban area of Shuangyashan City to harass them. At 5:00 a.m. Ms. Zhang Chunyan, a practitioner in Jixian County, was taken away by officers who broke into her fifth floor window by renting a crane. Another practitioner was also taken away by officers who broke in through the window. At around 5:00 a.m., officers in Youyi County went to harass several practitioners at their homes. Li Yong (male), deputy director of the Qixingpao Town Police Station in Baoqing County, and two other officers went to Taihe Village at around 8:00 a.m. to take Mr. Song Decai away. Around noon, they went to Yong'an Village to take into custody Ms. Jia Guilan.
On the evening of September 28, Ms. Yang Xiuying, a practitioner in the Xin'ankuang area was harassed by officers from the local police station. Ms. Yang was forced to leave town.
30. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Ms. Mu Guiqiu and Ms. Chen Cailing Taken into Custody
On the afternoon of July 31, 2007, Chang Zheng (male), director of the Kaiping Police Station, and six other officers went to Ms. Mu Guiqiu's home. The officers unlawfully searched the place and took away two copies of Zhuan Falun. Ms. Mu was not at home. On September 5, Ms. Mu and Ms. Chen Cailing went to Xiazhuang Farm Market in Wali Township to clarify the truth and were arrested. In the afternoon, Yan Jianji (male) of the Wali Township Police Station and other officers went to Ms. Mu's home to perform an unlawful search. The officers took away Falun Dafa exercise cassette tapes, an MP3 player, and other personal items. The two practitioners are being held at the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Chen Cailing is suffering from heart problems. Ms Chen's family was notified of the recurrence of her heart problems and ordered to send money. Ms. Chen's family refused to comply.

31. [Shanghai] Practitioner Ms. Wu Lingdi Taken into Custody at Her Home
On September 20, 2007, two officers in Waigaoqiao District broke into Ms. Wu Lingdi's home during the day. Ms. Wu lives in Fute No. 5 Residential Community in Waikgaoqiao District. The officers forcibly took her to the Gaoqiao Town Police Station. On September 21, she was transferred to the Pudong Detention Center in the Zhangjiang area, where she remains in custody.
32. [Jilin Province] 610 Office Arrests Practitioners at Will
Members of the 610 Office in Jilin Province and officers at various police departments in Jilin Province have been arresting practitioners at will. Since September 27, 2007, in Nong'an County alone, police have taken into custody several dozen practitioners.
33. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Taken into Custody Again
Ms. Zhang Yuzhen, a practitioner who lives on Huinan Street in Changchun City, was taken from her home in the early part of September 2007. This is the second time the police have taken her into custody.
34. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Ying Forcibly Taken to Xinjin Brainwashing Center
On the morning of September 28, 2007, Ms. Liu Ying, a practitioner in Chengdu City, was forcibly taken away from work by officials of the Shuangqiao Neighborhood Administration Office. Ms. Liu has a three-year-old daughter that needs her care.
