Seventeen Practitioners from Jilin, Hebei, Heilongjiang, and Other Provinces Die as a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Fang, 53, was from Jiangnan Street, Fengman District, Jilin City. She learned Falun Dafa in 1996, and all her diseases disappeared within a short time. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, policemen harassed her many times. She was unlawfully detained twice and jailed in a forced labor camp once. She went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong in December 1999 and was detained there. Policemen poured cold water on her head, one basin after another, on a cold winter day. She was sent back to Jilin and detained for fifteen days. She was detained again in February 2000 for attending an experience-sharing gathering at another practitioner's home. She was released five days later due to high blood pressure. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong again in October 2000, and was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. She was very weak and had high blood pressure when she was jailed in Changchun City's Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Nonetheless, policemen still beat her with electric batons. She was released for hospital treatment due to very high blood pressure. In 2001, she went to the countryside, where she clarified the truth of Falun Gong and was subsequently arrested. She was released due to her family members' rescue efforts. During the 16th Communist Party Congress in 2002, a kindhearted person warned her that the police were planning to take her to a brainwashing class, so she fled and was forced to become homeless. After the continuous persecution she suffered, Liu Fang was severely injured both physically and mentally. She suffered from a mental collapse in 2003, and in March 2004, she had bleeding in her brain and lapsed into a coma. She passed away on April 13, 2005.

Ms. Liu Lihua, 42, was a resident of West Wulijie Village, Nongan County, Changchun City, Jilin Province. She suffered from inflammation of the nerve endings, which disappeared shortly after she started practicing Falun Gong. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in October 1999, and was arrested and jailed in the county detention center. Due to the relentless long-term persecution, she developed a brain tumor and passed away on March 10, 2000.

Ms. Cao Xuezhen was from Tangerli Town, Bazhou City, Hebei Province. On July 10, 2001, when she was visiting her husband, Xie Xiwang, who was jailed in Wanzhuang Forced Labor Camp of Langfang City for distributing truth-clarifying flyers, she was threatened by the police. This led to bleeding in her brain and resulted in her death. Before this, their daughter Xie Haihong (a non-practitioner), who used to have anemia, was traumatized by the persecution of her father, which caused her old disease to recur, and she died on April 3, 2001.

Mr. Li Zhongyao, 53, was from Linyuan Village, Guyuan County, Hebei Province. In May 2001, he was jailed in the county detention center and tortured by police with electric batons. He was jailed there for six months and extorted out of 3000 yuan. He was released in December 2001, after which he was harassed by local police officers many times. This caused serious mental trauma, which resulted in his death on July 31, 2002.

Ms. Wang Xiulan, 74, was from Wenan County, Hebei Province. She learned Falun Dafa in 1997, which healed all of her diseases. After the persecution began, she was threatened and harassed by policemen many times. She passed away in July 2001.

Mr. Chi Yuming, 65, was from Baiqi, Xilinhaote City, Inner Mongolia. Mr. Chi suffered from many diseases, and could not walk very long distances without stopping before he learned Falun Gong. After practicing Falun Gong, all of his diseases disappeared, and he became a local contact person. After July 1999, due to the persecution, his old diseases returned, and he died in October 2000.

Ms. Wang Youying, 35, was from Baiqi, Xilinhaote City, Inner Mongolia. She had surgery to remove a tumor in her brain. After practicing Falun Gong, her disease was healed, and she often went to pass out truth-clarifying materials. Since many practitioners were jailed, her family stopped her from practicing, and her old disease returned. Subsequently, her health deteriorated and she died in March 2003.

Mr. Meng Qinglong, 46, was a worker in Huolinhe Coal Company, Chaerhure District, Huolinguole City, Inner Mongolia. He started practicing Falun Gong in May 1997. Subsequently all his diseases were healed. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, he was forcibly laid off from his job for 1 year. His wife was twice jailed in a forced labor camp. He also was unlawfully jailed in a detention center several times. In May 2004, he was jailed in Huolinhuole City Detention Center. He once gave in and renounced Falun Gong, but later he resumed the practice. The police used all kinds of methods to persecute him, including harassing him and confiscating his belongings. As a result, his old diseases recurred and he died on February 11, 2005.

Ms. Zhao Yanping was from Yuelai Town, Huachuan County, Heilongjiang Province. She suffered from many diseases before practicing Falun Gong. After practicing Falun Gong, they all disappeared. After the persecution began her husband and son went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and were arrested by police. On the evening of May 4, 2002, her husband and son were again unlawfully detained by police. The police harassed and searched her house constantly, which caused her old diseases to return. The police continuously knocked on her door day and night. She developed heart disease due to the relentless hounding and passed away on July 30, 2004.

Mr. Xiong Changshu, 60, was from Yuesheng Village, Yuelai Town, Huachuan County, Heilongjiang Province. He was jailed in a labor camp for two years, beginning in April 2002. All of his personal property was confiscated. The county 610 Office and police constantly harassed him. He died on April 9, 2005.

Mr. Han Fuhui, 46, was from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He was previously blind. He started practicing Falun Gong since 1997, and was very steadfast during the persecution. Due to the persecution, he died on July 3, 2003.

Mr. Liu Guoyu, 70, and his 60-year-old sister were both from Baoqing Town, Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province. They were harassed by the policemen many times and died in August 2000.

Mr. Dou Chengren, 60, was a retired teacher from Lanzhou Chemical Industrial Company in Gansu Province. After practicing Falun Dafa, his heart disease was healed. After 1999, due to the persecution, he had to work on a farm in Dingyuan Town, Yuzhong County. Due to the long-term mental pressure of the persecution, his heart disease recurred and he died from a heart attack on February 1, 2005.

Ms. Lei Xiuqin, 60, was from Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. She was harassed and detained repeatedly between May 2001 and December 2004. The police also threatened to take away her son's job. Due to the relentless persecution, she fell ill and died on January 2, 2005. She shouted, "Restore Dafa's reputation" before she died. In the detention center, due to the high pressure, she signed a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong, and in September 2004, she wrote a solemn declaration to void the renunciation and resumed practicing. Since she did not have Internet access, her statement was not published at that time.

Mr. Hua Qiao, 76, was a retired worker from the Commerce Drivers Association, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, and all of his diseases disappeared. After the persecution began, the police constantly went to his house to harass him, and he lost his cultivation environment. He died in August 2002.

Ms. Chen Guifeng, 73, was from Tianjin. She was illiterate, but after starting to practice Falun Gong in 1995, she was able to read Zhuan Falun, after which all her diseases were healed. After the persecution began, the director of the local police station constantly harassed and threatened her until she died in October 2001.
