Facts of the Persecution

1. Persecution Endured by Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Xiaojing from Yunmeng County, Hubei Province

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xiaojing is a villager from Team No. 6 of Weixing Village, Qingminghe Township, Yunmeng County, Hubei Province. On January 1, 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa. She was arrested and taken to the Beijing City Police Department. Later, she was sent to a detention center and was detained there for 48 days. Subsequently, the Qingminghe Township Police Station went to her home constantly to harass her. Her son also had to suspend his schooling for half a year.

In October 2002, when Ms. Li was in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, officials from the Qingminghe Township Police Station attempted to abduct her, but failed so they took her son and her younger brother as hostages. The police tried to manipulate Ms. Li and her family members by claiming that Ms. Li did not care about her family.

Li Xiaojing and her family were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. Around 10:00 p.m. on November 8, 2003, several policemen went to her temporary residence and tricked her into opening the door. They searched the place without a warrant and abducted her to Shouyi Road Police Station. The next morning, she escaped the police station with righteous thoughts.

In March 2004, Li Xiaojing's family members and relatives went to the local police station to ask for the replacement of their Permanent Resident Booklet and the issuance of her son's identification card. Although the police station had prepared the booklet and the ID card, they refused to give them to Li Xiaojing's family. They tried to force Ms. Li to write the "Three Statements" in exchange for the booklet and the ID card.

2. Practitioner Li Zhengjun from Gulin County, Sichuan Province, Arrested Again

Falun Dafa practitioner Li Zhengjun, 40, is a retired serviceman and was laid off from a local drug company. To make a living, he trades coal in Jiulong Township, Taiping District. On December 28, 2004, he was again illegally arrested by the Gulin County Police Department and taken to the Gulin Detention Center. For practicing Falun Gong, he was arrested in 1999 by Xishui Police Department of Guizhou Province and was later jailed at the Guiyang Forced Labor Camp for 3 years and 2 months. Police officer Zhou Qiang from Gulin Police Department arrested him with no evidence of wrongdoing.

3. Practitioner Ms. Su Dan from Dehui City, Jilin Province Brutally Tortured During Interrogation

On the afternoon of December 14, 2004, police officers from Dehui City Police Department arrested practitioners Ms. Su Dan and Ms. Ma Chunli while they were walking on the street. They were taken to the Minzheng Guesthouse for torture and interrogation. Ms. Su's hands were tied behind her back. Her feet were also tied. She was then hung up by her hands and feet. One police officer even sat on her back. She was hung there for two days and one night, during which time she passed out. The policemen poured cold water on her and slapped her on the face to revive her. She was then taken to the Dehui City Detention Center. Two weeks later, she was sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Due to the torture she suffered, she had heart problems and didn't pass the physical examination. Thus, the labor camp refused to admit her. She has since been jailed at the Dehui City Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike, and is in critical condition.

4. Practitioner Ms. Li Jifeng from Chongqing City Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison

In December 2004, practitioner Ms. Li Jifeng from Beipei District, Chongqing City was sentenced to 8 years in prison and is now detained in the Yongchuan Women's Prison. Ms. Li Jifeng went to Beijing twice to validate Falun Dafa and had been detained at Beipei District Detention Center, brainwashing centers, and Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp. While detained at the Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp, she suffered a mental collapse as a result of the torture she suffered. After her release, through practicing Falun Dafa, she regained her health. One night in May 2003, several policemen forced their way into her house, searched her home and abducted her to the Beipei District Detention Center. Her family hasn't heard from her since October 2003. On January 1, 2005, her family received a letter from the Beipei District Detention Center, notifying them that Ms. Li Jifeng was sentenced to 8 years in prison and was transferred to the Yongchuan Women's prison. Her family visited her and said that Li Jifeng had become completely emaciated.

5. Practitioner Zheng Libin Brutally Tortured by Police Officers at Haidian District Detention Center in Beijing

On November 27, 2004, after midnight, policemen from the Malianwa Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing City illegally forced their way into a house and abducted practitioners Li Xupeng, Zheng Libin and Ma Wanli. The next day they were taken to the Haidian District Detention Center. Zheng Libin refused to cooperate with the policemen. They thus knocked him down and dragged him on the ground over 20 meters. Three days later, because Zheng went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, the policemen force-fed him and caused massive bleeding in his nose, mouth and ears. He lost so much blood that he was sent to the police hospital in Beijing for emergency treatment on December 2. On December 23, Zheng was on the brink of death. The police hospital notified Haidian District Detention Center and Haidian District Police Department National Security Brigade that his life was in peril. On the evening of December 27, Zheng was transferred to the No. 309 Hospital. The policemen did not notify his family members or the police department in his hometown. Every day, four security guards and three policemen took turns monitoring him. On December 31, policemen from the Haidian District Police Department National Security Brigade took him to the Beijing Train Station and transferred him to personnel from the Jiamusi Police Department without telling them of the severity of his condition. On January 2, 2005, Zheng Libin was released due to his critical condition.
