The 2nd Women's Station of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp is divided into three groups. Wang Namin is the political head that actively persecutes practitioners. Guan Lin is the head of Group 4, and Ren Hongzan is the head of Group 6.

Group 1, also called the Strictly Controlled Team, is located on the second floor. Determined practitioners are illegally detained here. They refuse to wear the prison uniforms and refuse to work. They have to sit in the room all day, from 6:00 a.m. until 9 p.m. They are forbidden to move and are made to sit in military posture. The guards and criminal inmates watch the practitioners and record their actions. They don't even allow the practitioners to close their eyes, turn their heads or shift their bodies. Surveillance cameras installed in the room capture everything on film 24 hours a day. The surveillance camera is covered up with an electronic clock. The windows and doors are covered with plastic sheets. The jailers made a hole in the door or in the window to peep inside. They constantly scrutinize the practitioners to prevent them from reading Falun Gong articles, sending forth righteous thoughts, or doing the Falun Gong exercises. They send practitioners to solitary confinement cells and torture them if they see the practitioners do these things.

Sometimes the group heads intentionally stir up trouble. They force the practitioners to stand, deprive them of sleep, or send them to a solitary confinement cell if the practitioners say something they don't like or if they don't walk at a 90-degree angle when making a turn. They arbitrarily decide the length of time a practitioner is held in solitary confinement, which varies from 10 to 15 days up to a month. They extend a practitioner's term by one month for saying "Falun Dafa is good" and three months for shouting "Falun Dafa is good" on the drill ground or in the cafeteria. They claimed the practitioners damaged the labor camp's reputation by shouting "Falun Dafa is good."

They also casually use other corporal punishment, extend the practitioners' terms, and send them to solitary confinement depending on their mood. They prevent the practitioners from eating in the cafeteria if they don't wear the prison uniform and don't allow them to get hot water from the boiler room. Practitioners in Group 1 are forced to eat inside their rooms. Guards and inmates deliver their food. The practitioners are given only five minutes to wash and brush their teeth, and they have to wash their clothes in secret after the allotted five minutes. Inmates or group heads throw away any wet clothing practitioners hang on the line outside the window. The practitioners are mostly given coarse grain for food. Rice is given only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The practitioners drink tap water even though most tap water in China is not drinkable before boiling it. The inmates and guards refuse to let the practitioners drink hot water, even if they have too much hot water and pour it down the drain.

Each team takes turn using the bathroom. The practitioners in different teams cannot see each other. The inmates and guards keep a close eye on the practitioners who are required to make 90-degree angle turns and are not allowed to look at or talk to each other. The inmates watch the practitioners using the toilet. Some inmates even frame practitioners in order to get sentence reductions.

Group 2 is located on the third floor. Falun Gong practitioners who refuse to "reform" are illegally held there. They are forced to wear the prison uniform so they are allowed to eat in the cafeteria. At first they were forced to work and do the camp morning exercises. The work mostly consists of peeling onions, cleaning up, cooking in the cafeteria, and working outside. Later the practitioners refused to work and their noon nap was cancelled. They were forced to sit on small stools while watching and listening to slanderous attacks against Falun Gong and were compelled to recite 30 labor camp rules. They were forced to sit until 11:30 p.m. and later to 9:30 p.m. If they removed the prison uniform, their sentence would be extended by one month and male group leaders would beat them, followed by detention in a solitary confinement cell for one week to 30 days. In the end they would be sent to Group 1 and placed under Strict Control.

Practitioner Ms. Yan Chunjiao was forbidden to wash herself in the solitary confinement cell, and she had to eat, drink, relieve herself and sleep inside the confinement cell. There is only a broken grass pad in the small room with no other bedding, yet this is considered to be well equipped among the solitary confinement cells.

Group 3 is located on the fourth floor. It is made up primarily of former practitioners who renounced Falun Gong under pressure, torture and brainwashing, and of some newly arrived practitioners who were brought in to be "reformed." Most of these people know that Falun Dafa is good, but they renounced Falun Gong under duress to get sentence reductions and go home. They suffer from guilt because they did something they knew they shouldn't.

Some slanderous propaganda pictures hang in the large hall on the first floor. The storage room is located on the right side of the hall. It was used for work tools and later used to hold newly arrested practitioners. Determined practitioners are given IV infusions and force-fed here, and those who refuse to cooperate are handcuffed to a bed or a radiator pipe. A corner called "the metal gate" on the left side of the hall has always been a place where determined practitioners are grossly abused. Practitioner Ms. Zhu Yun was tied to a bed at "the metal gate" and force-fed for one year. Sometimes practitioners held here are forbidden to use the restroom, and some practitioners had to relieve themselves in their pants. The abuse is most severe at this corner.

The headquarters faces the front gate and this is where Su Jing, Wang Naimin and other guards live and work.

Liu Chunjie and his wife, Pei Feng, used to savagely beat the practitioners holding hunger strikes in solitary confinement cells. Cao Yujie and Chen Bing are doctors. They insert the force-feeding tubes and do other things to inflict pain on practitioners who are hunger striking. They grab the practitioner's hair or strike or trip her so she falls to the ground. Several people pin the practitioner down while the doctor(s) inserts the tube. Sometimes they pour things directly into the practitioner's mouth, which causes choking. Some practitioners have lost consciousness on the spot. Sun Chunqiu is an officer in Group 1 and is in charge of extending or reducing the practitioners' terms. She has conspired with group leader Xie and arbitrarily extended the terms of determined practitioners.

Information about practitioner Ms. Dong Jingya

On April 27, 2005, Ms. Dong Jingya and I were held in Squadron 1 of Group1, the Strictly Controlled Team. Xie and Li Mingyu are the heads of Group 1, and Wang Shuzheng is the deputy group leader. Ren Hongzan, Pei Feng, and Tu are the team heads. Because Ms. Dong Jingya resisted the persecution and refused to wear the prison uniform, they handcuffed her to the radiator pipe inside the team heads' office. She was forced to stand from 8:00 a.m. until past 9:00 p.m., during which time she was not allowed to use the restroom. Ren Hongzan also beat her and watched her after sending her back at night. She didn't allow Ms. Dong to talk about the abuses she had endured. Ms. Dong went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution, and the jailers force-fed her. They intentionally left the feeding tube in her stomach, and doctors Cao Yujie and Chen Bing pulled out and re-inserted the tube many times to inflict pain. They forced her to wear a prison uniform and handcuffed her to a chair. At other times they forced her to sit on the concrete floor in the storage room. She was weak from the hunger strike. They put the uniform on her against her will. She removed it after returning in the evening. She was taken to another room about one month later, and I haven't seen her since.

Information about practitioner Ms. Cong Aidong from Yingkou City

In April 2005, Ms. Cong Aidong became mentally disordered after the guards savagely force-fed her. She accidentally swallowed two metal clips, which caused excruciating pain. She was sent to the hospital a few times but her condition didn't improve after nearly 1,000 yuan was spent on medical examinations. The labor camp authorities hid the truth and prevented her from receiving medical further treatment. She lived in agony. Zhang Lei handcuffed Ms. Cong to the radiator pipe for more than 10 hours, during which time she was not allowed to use the restroom. Su Jing, Xie, Ren Hongzan, Pei Feng, Liu Hua, Xie Jiachuan and Zhang Lei cruelly abused her.

The persecution of practitioners in the second group

Agents from the first section of the Fushun City Police Department in Liaoning Province arrested Ms. Gong Xiaochen (alias). Officer Guan Yong persecuted her relentlessly and tried to force her to tell the name of her fellow practitioners, but she refused to do so. Guan forced Ms. Gong's legs apart and beat her brutally. As a result of the torture, she was unable to walk for several days and displayed injuries all over her body, especially in her face and legs, which were full of gruesome bruises.

Ms. Gong Xiaochen was illegally detained in the first subgroup of the second group of the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. For more than three years she was frequently, brutally beaten. Wang Jihong, the former head of the second group, and Wang Dan and Qi Xiaojing, heads of the first subgroup, instigated criminal inmates Shi Xiuli, Liu Min and Li Yongjie to bind Ms. Gong with ropes and hang her up to force her legs apart. The former head of the second group, Wang Jihong, instigated inmate Shi Xiuli to force Ms. Gong to stand for five days and nights. After that, she could not walk normally. She was also slapped repeatedly in the face. Unknown drugs were added to her food. Fortunately, she realized what was going on and, since then, it has no longer happened.

Ms. Gong was forced to labor in a workshop. Suddenly, inmates Li Yongjie and Shi Xiuli demanded that she approach them. They then both brutally beat her. Criminal inmates Tang Haixia and Bai Hongying stripped Ms. Gong in broad daylight and wrote words slandering Teacher on her body. Because she refused to write the "guarantee letter" that she had been "transformed," criminals Nie Chunling and Sun Yuwen forced her to squat in a basin filled with cold water and repeatedly slapped her face with slippers. But Ms. Gong did not cooperate with them and protested her persecution through continuous hunger striking. She also clarified the truth to them, but they did not listen. During her hunger strike, the criminals still cruelly beat and tortured her.

Criminal Liu Guiqin often tortured practitioners whenever she felt like it. She also swore against Teacher and Falun Gong. Ms. Gong Xiaochen clarified the truth to her and told her the principle that any good or evil deeds will be rewarded in the end. But because Ms. Gong refused to give up her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, these criminals tortured her for three years. She protested this persecution through a hunger strike and clarified the truth. These were the circumstances she had to endure.

The persecution of practitioners in the eighth group

Around the clock, the eighth group of the Liaoning Province Women's Prison persecuted the newly-arrived practitioners who refused to be "transformed." The practitioners were forced to do manual labor, forced to stand all day long, and forced to sleep on ice-cold bed boards without any bedding at nighttime. Practitioner Ms. Liu Junlu, who was detained in the second subgroup, was handcuffed with one hand upward and the other downward behind her back all day so that her hands and arms could not move for several days. To force all the practitioners to "transform," the heads of the eighth group, Zuo Xiaoyan and Gu Yajie, demanded that the heads of their subgroups instigate criminal inmates to persecute the practitioners to varying degrees.

Practitioner Ms. Jin Shunnv, from the first subgroup, was stripped of her clothing and had cold water poured over her in winter. She was also brutally beaten and shocked with electric batons in her mouth, such that she could not shut her mouth for a few months, since it was full of big blisters. Practitioner Ms. Cheng Ling was bound and beaten. Her mouth was stuffed with underwear. Practitioner Ms. Wang Su'e in the third subgroup was stripped and had words slandering Falun Gong written all over her body. During the daytime, the practitioners labored extremely long hours in the workshop, like slaves, and were required to accomplish a huge work quota. Otherwise, the practitioners would be shocked with electric batons, slapped in their faces, and not allowed to have dinner or buy things. They spent almost every day like that.

The same was the case with criminal inmates. When some inmates were ill, the police simply thought that they were pretending because they were lazy. As a result, their medical treatments were postponed again and again. It was not until they were at the verge of death that they were sent to a hospital to be treated. In prison, some inmates died of complications caused by being overworked. To achieve the highest work quota in the whole prison, policewoman Zuo Xiaoyan forced inmates to labor without any concern for their lives.

Quite a few Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested, including Cao Baoyu, Shi Zhimin, Zhou Xiuzhen, Zhang Ruihua, Zhang Fengde, and Li Shuhong. They began a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

The homes of Cao Ruitang and Tao Liangui are under surveillance. The police even question neighbors who go there to pay a visit. Cao Ruitang and his wife, Tao Liangui's wife, and Wang Jianhua's wife were forced to leave their homes to escape the persecution.

Practitioner Wang Fenghai was sentenced to a labor camp because of the Xianghe incident. His wife was also arrested and taken to the brainwashing class. Practitioner Shi Yongping was sentenced to a labor camp. His family was also harassed by the police. The police also ransacked the homes of three Falun Gong practitioners who went to visit detained practitioners with their family members.

Falun Gong practitioner Lu Wenqing of Langfang was arrested recently at Lianzhuangzi Village.

Additional Information Pertaining to the Persecution of Detained Practitioners in Dachang County

After more than 30 practitioners went to Xianghe County to rescue their family members on February 5 (Lunar calendar January 8), they were all arrested and taken to the Dachang County Detention Center, where they all suffered brutal torture. They were beaten at the detention center; some had their teeth knocked loose to the point that they have not been able to chew food even to this day. One of the practitioners was tied to a wall in the spread eagle position for a whole night. None of the practitioners were allowed to wear warm clothes and the guards left all the windows open to keep the place very cold. In the evening, the guards forced all the practitioners, including two of Liu Shuying's daughters who were only around 10 years old, to sleep on the concrete floor with just one thin layer of carpet, but no blankets. The police also tied practitioners on an iron chair for forced feeding and IV injections. Due to the prolonged torture, many of them developed serious physical conditions. Practitioner Gao Tiansong had prolonged fever for many days, his body temperature reached 40° C (104° F), and was diagnosed by the hospital as having a severe lung infection. His family strongly requested that he be released, but the Dachang district police refused to release him.

The police again arrested some of the Falun Gong practitioners who had been previously released on February 21. Their excuse was in order to ensure the successful meeting of the "Dual Congress," they felt "better" if they put Falun Gong practitioners in jail. This is how the country is under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. While planning the "People's Congress," they arrest good people who dare to speak the truth. We appeal to our fellow practitioners both in China and overseas, and righteous people from all walks of life to pay attention to this incident.

Zhao Qinglin, is the Director of the Dachang County Detention Center and is responsible for beating Falun Gong practitioner Yang Jinlong (from Taipingzhuang Village in Dachang County) as reported by the Clearwisdom article "The Director of Langfang Detention Center in Hebei Province Savagely Beat Falun Gong Practitioners." He is from Xiaolizhuang Village in Dachang Township, Dachang County. Zhao is around 45 years old, and an army veteran. He was transferred back home after being discharged from the military in 2000. He is tall and lean, and was promoted to the director position a few years ago.

Luo Gan, head of the 610 Office, recently ordered large-scale arrests of Falun Gong practitioners throughout the entire country. Everywhere he has gone, the brutal persecution of practitioners in that area has dramatically intensified. In mid-September 2005, Luo Gan went to Harbin City twice. Since September 23, 2005, arrests of practitioners in Harbin City have occurred more frequently. During this large-scale push for arrests, more than 25 practitioners have been arrested, detained, and brutally tortured; some have even been persecuted to death.

Mass arrests of Falun Gong practitioners

On Friday, September 23, 2005, starting at around 5 a.m., Harbin and Daqing in Heilongjiang Province deployed large numbers of police officers to arrest practitioners. On that day, at least 14 Harbin practitioners and 18 Daqing practitioners were arrested.

In Harbin City

Practitioner Zhang Yuefang, a resident of Harbin City's Nangang District, was arrested at home. Agents from the Nangang Police Sub-department and Hexing Police Station were responsible.

The Harbin City National Security Group and the Nangang Police Sub-department arrested Dr. Dai Jingmin, a professor and doctoral advisor at the Harbin Institute of Technology, and his wife, Yang Maohua, a teacher in the Department of Physics at the Harbin Institute of Technology. The police also confiscated their computers, printers, and other valuables and left their young child without care.

Practitioner Yang Guiying, who was in the hotel business in the Nangang District, and another practitioner with the last name of Yi, who worked at the hotel, were both arrested.

The police from the Dongli District Police Sub-department arrested husband and wife Li Ge and Lu Yan, and confiscated their computers, printers, truth clarification materials, and Falun Gong books. The police also arrested their child and detained him for one day at the station. Later that night, the child was taken home by his grandfather.

The police from Daoli District National Security Group arrested Ms. Lu Lihua from the Hesong District in the Daoli Area and detained her at the Shengdashanzhuang Resort located in Acheng City. It is a place for interrogating practitioners, many of whom were arrested on September 23, 2005. It is equipped with all sorts of torture devices. Ms. Lu Lihua was tortured for seven days there and died at around 7:20 p.m. on October 2, 2005.

Mr. Li Hongkui was abducted from his workplace. Afterwards, the police ransacked his home and confiscated his computers, printers, etc. The police also arrested his son, Li Xuan, who does not practice Falun Gong and is a college student. Li Xuan was released a week later. Mr. Li Hongkui's whereabouts is unknown.

Practitioner Wang Zhulan, who lives in Daoli Area, was arrested at the same time by the Daoli District National Security Group.

The police from the Gongcheng Police Station in Daoli Area also arrested practitioners Zhou Yulan, Yang Yunqiu and Yuan Shengce immediately after work. The following morning, they abducted practitioner Zhang Yan.

In Daqing City

On September 23, 2005, at around 5 a.m., Chen Changxiu, Li Shumei, Mr. and Mrs. Yu Chen and their son-in-law were arrested. Chen and Li are residents of Ranghu Road in the Yueyuan District, while the Yu couple and their son-in-law are from the Xizhai District.

Practitioners Bai Yufu and Zhang Lixin live in the No. 8 Donghu District, along with Li Qingzuo, Li Junmi, and Jia Xianjun. They all work in the Chinese Medicine Clinic, and were arrested by the Donghu Police Sub-department. Computers, printers, and Falun Gong materials were confiscated.

Practitioners Liu Li, Feng Ying, Chen Qingli and Tang Zengye were also arrested.

Ms. Yu Guixiang found out about the police's plan and refused to open her door. An hour later, the police pried the door open and roughly arrested Ms. Yu. She shouted out, "Falun Dafa is good!" on the balcony. When her son tried to stop the police, they beat him. Due to the intense demands from her family, Ms. Yu Guixiang was sent to the hospital to receive medical treatment.

To avoid further persecution, Mr. Zheng Hongjun has been forced into homelessness for several years now. He was arrested at around 5 a.m. while at his mother's home in the Babaixiang Area.

Xi Qingyun, a practitioner from the Ranghu District, was arrested at home. He was later released around noontime.

Lan Sufen, who worked at the No.3 Daqing Oil Factory, was also arrested.

Mr. Li Yequan from Daqing City was arrested on September 23, 2005. He has been detained for over 100 days now in the Daqing Forced Labor Camp. He went on a hunger strike to protest his illegal detention and the persecution of Falun Gong. Due to the tortures he suffered at the labor camp, his health deteriorated and he was at the brink of death. Near the Chinese New Year's celebration, his family members took a four-hour trip from the oil factory to visit him. They brought him some clothes, but Wang Yongxiang, Director of the labor camp, became angry and forbade them from giving the clothes to Mr. Li Yequan.

Continued arrests

After the large-scale arrests on September 23, the police in Harbin and Daqing Cities continued to abduct more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners in the months of October, November, and December 2005.

Practitioner Dandan is a resident of the Ranghulu District in Daqing City. Someone reported him to the police because he practices Falun Gong. On October 19, 2005, Mr. Dandan became mentally disordered after being subjected to detention and cruelly tortured by the Ranghulu Police Sub-department.

On October 27, 2005, Mr. Yu Shengquan and his whole family (a total of three people) were arrested. The police confiscated heir computers, printers, and other valuables. Mr. Yu Shengquan lived in the Daoli Area and was an employee of the Agricultural Bank in Daqing City,

On November 1, 2005, 57-year-old Mr. Zhang Shengjie was illegally arrested by the police from the Harbin Daowai Police Sub-department and the Falun Gongngli Police Station. At that time, he was alone at home while his wife was at work. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp.

On November 2, 2005, Ms. Guo Shuzhen was tricked into going to the Chaoyang Police Station of the Harbin Dongli Police Sub-department. She was immediately arrested by three police officers from the Harbin City Police Department. Personal computers, printers, and other materials were confiscated from her home. Ms. Guo was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. At home, Ms. Guo's elderly mother-in-law, son, and husband, Huang Xiangwei, a practitioner who was persecuted to disability by the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp, were left to care for themselves.

On November 4, 2005, at around 9 p.m., Mr. Zhao Xidong from Harbin City was arrested by police from the Haping Police Station and the Nangang District Police Station. The police also confiscated his computer, video camera, and other personal valuables. Mr. Zhao used to be a reporter with the Heilongjiang Provincial Television Station, a Russian translator, and the host of a Russian language program. The Heilongjiang Provincial Television Station fired him only because he practices Falun Gong. He was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. Currently he is detained in the Dongli Police Station.

On November 5, 2005, Mr. Chen Guilan, a practitioner from Hulan District, Harbin City, was arrested because he told the truth about Falun Gong.

In November 2005, the Daqing Dongli District Police Sub-department deceived practitioner Liu Guiqi's son into opening the door and then arrested Liu. Liu Guiqi is currently detained at the Dongli Police Station.

In November 2005, two practitioners from Changxin Village, Tonghe County, Harbin City, were arrested while they were distributing truth-clarification materials. As a result of their arrest, three other practitioners were found out. One practitioner with the last name of Qi was arrested, while the other two were forced into homelessness to avoid persecution.

On November 12, 2005, Mr. Yi Anbang was arrested at home by the National Security Group. He was detained at Daoli District Police Department in Harbin City. After he clarified the truth to his students during class, Mr. Yi was reported to the police by someone who was deceived by the CCP's hate propaganda of Falun Gong.

On November 13, 2005, practitioner Ms. Sun Yumei, an employee of the No.2 Daqing Factory, was arrested by the police when she went to get her ID photo taken.

On November 19, 2005, Ms. Lang Fengai, a resident of Linren Village, Tonghe County, Harbin City, was arrested by the police while she was clarifying the truth.

On November 22, 2005, at around noon, two police officers from the Babaixiang Police Department in Daqing City pushed Ms. Wang Xiuling into a police car while she was working at Jiulong Property Management Company.

In the morning on November 22, 2005, practitioners Zhou Yingqi, Yang Shuqin and Zhang Chuansheng, from Shuangcheng District, Harbin City, were arrested by the Shuangcheng Police Department and Shuangcheng 610 Office. Their homes were ransacked, and the police also confiscated computers, printers, and other materials valued at more than 10,000 yuan.

On November 22, 2005, Mr. Chi Qinghua, a practitioner from Tonghe County, Harbin City, was arrested from home by the police from the county county's National Security Group and the village's police station. His home computer was also confiscated.

On November 29, 2005, Mr. Zheng Li from Mulan County, Harbin City, was arrested by the Mulan Police Department. The police also ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, public statements and letters, etc.

On November 30, 2005, at 4 p.m. the police from the Daoli Area National Security Group in Harbin City arrested practitioner Mr. Liu Tao from his workplace. Another practitioner, Yan Junlian, an employee of Daqing Petrochemical General Factory, was also recently arrested in Shanghai.

On December 7, 2005, Ms. Gao Xunhong, a resident of Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested by a group of police officers that broke into her home. The police also confiscated her husband's computer and other valuables.

In addition, on July 20, 2005, Tong County practitioners Li Min, Bo Hai, Chi Qinghua, and Lang Fengai were arrested. Although the Heilongjiang Fangzheng County Court found Bo Hai and Li Min "not guilty" and released them, the Tonghe County police still detained them at the Tonghe County Police Station. Liu Ying was also detained there. Chi Qinghua was sentenced to two years of imprisonment by the Tonghe County Court.

Mr. and Mrs. Li Min were arrested in the spring of 2005. Since then, their whereabouts have been unknown.

It was reported on Clearwisdom.net that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Yingdong was secretly sentenced to seven years in prison when she was already on the verge of death (see /emh/articles/2006/2/12/69889.html). On February 10, 2006, authorities from the Heishan County Detention Center feared taking responsibility should Zhang Yingdong die at the detention center, so they reported her situation to the procuratorate and the court. On February 13 the court issued an order allowing Ms. Zhang to temporarily serve her sentence outside the detention center, and Zhang Yingdong was sent home. The next day, persecutors from the Heishan County Police Department harassed Zhang Yingdong and her family, demanding legal documentation from them. They tried to persecute Zhang Yingdong further, despite the fact that she had already developed heart disease as a result of the persecution.

Zhang Yingdong was very frail but had no choice but to leave home to avoid additional persecution. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Her husband was taken to the detention center as a hostage. On February 15, 2006, Heishan County Police Department dispatched many police officers to search for Zhang Yingdong throughout the area. They harassed many Falun Gong practitioners and their families.

Right now, Zhang Yingdong's husband Li Zhigang is still being held at the detention center. Party officials have made arrangements for him to be sent to forced labor in the name of "disrupting societal safety." Li Zhigang suffers from chronic severe tuberculosis. His parents are in their late 70s. His father recently had a stroke. Li Zhigang and his wife were taking care of the elderly couple before the persecution. Li Zhigang's parents are now living in anguish with their son detained and their daughter-in-law missing.

On February 16, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners Qiu Qinghua and Zheng Shoujun were arrested by police from the Panjiabao Police Station while they were distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong in Panjiabao Town. The practitioners were driving a car at the time. Everyone in the vehicle, except the owner of the car, was detained. After the police determined that the owner of the car was Falun Gong practitioner Han Liguo, they went to ransack his home the next day. The gang, led by Li Wei, thoroughly searched everywhere, including on the roof, and confiscated Falun Gong books and materials.

On February 17, Qiu Qinghua and Zheng Shoujun were sent to a detention center in Liaozhong County. They maintained righteous thoughts and actions, didn't co-operate with the police, and shouted "Falun Dafa is good." They were tortured by policeman Li Wei in the police station and detention center. Both of them held a hunger strike for 5 days to protest. Qiu was sent to Zhangshi Labor Camp on February 20 on the verge of death. The next day the authorities let his relatives take him home.

Qiu Qinghua's health is improving now. Zheng Shoujun, however, is still being persecuted and is on hunger strike. He is presently in great danger.

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Li Yequan Is Cruelly Persecuted In Forced Labor Camp

After being arrested and detained, Mr. Li Yequan has begun a hunger strike to resist the persecution. The labor camp punitively forced-feeds him on a daily basis.

On February 24, 2006, Mr. Cao Jingdong was brutally beaten by the Administration Section Chief Han Qingshan. After Mr. Zhang Zhiling was transferred from Prison No. 2 to No. 3, he was cruelly beaten, causing swelling in his head.

2. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Jia Yulan Is Detained in the No. 3 Detention Center

At 5 a.m. on March 2, 2006, Anshan City Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Jia Yulan and Ms. Maio Suyun were arrested from their homes by police officers Gu Xiangang and Shang Xiao. Both practitioners are presently detained at the Anshan City No. 3 Detention Center.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Wang Zhihui Is Arrested at His Home

On March 2, 2006 at 9 a.m., six policemen from the Shinan District Badahu Police Station arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zhihui at his home. They took away all of his Falun Gong books and Teacher's picture. On the same night, they took Wang Zhihui to the Dashan Detention Center.

On March 1, 2006, the Huantai Court illegally put 3 practitioners from Dongying City and three practitioners from Zouping City on trial.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Gong Practitioners are Followed and Harassed Over the Telephone

Recently, some Harbin Falun Gong practitioners were followed by plainclothes police, and some received harassing telephone calls. The police also broke into Falun Gong practitioners' homes to search for computers and truth clarifying materials and arrested the practitioners.

On February 27, 2006 Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gao Ke from outside the Harbin Road area was arrested on his way to work. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Xingye from the same area was arrested by police officers who were waiting outside Mr. Gao's house.

8. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Wu Lianhui and Three Falun Gong Practitioners are Arrested

On March 2, 2006, while Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wu Liangui and Mr. Zhang Ping were distributing truth-clarifying materials, they were stopped, assaulted, and reported to the police by an unknown group of people. They were arrested and are presently detained at the Lishu County Detention Center in Jilin Province. In the middle of the night on March 3, police arrested Ms. Liu Fengxin.

9. [Changsha County, Hunan Province] Yu Yong Is Illegally Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor

Mr. Yu Yong, 35 years old, resided at Nan Tuoling Township, Changsha County, Hunan Province. Because he practiced Falun Gong and clarified the truth to people, Mr. Yong was reported to the police in November 2005. On November 28, he was arrested by the Nan Tuoling Township police and illegally sentenced to one year of force labor. He is presently being detained in the Changsha City Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp.

10. [Daqing City, Hailongjiang Province] Items from Yu Guixiang's House Are Confiscated

On March 4, 2006 between 8:30 am to 11:30 am, more than twenty policemen with four to five police cars surrounded the building where Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Guixiang lived. They then intruded inside to confiscate things from her house. More than fifty people near the supermarket witnessed this.

It was believed that the incident was related to the manhunt of Mr. Zheng Peiming. Ms. Yu Guixiang was detained and tortured at Daqing City Prison.

11. [Zhulan City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Wang Yuxia Is Arrested

Assistant head of the Tiande County Police Substation Sun Lingshi and other policemen arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yuxia from her house and took her to the Shulan Detention Center.

12. [Huaibei City, Anhui Province] Zhou Hui Is Arrested in Xuzhou City

On March 2, 2006, Huaibei City Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Hui was arrested in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. That night, officers from the Huaibei Security Bureau and the Duji Police Station illegally confiscated the following items from Zhou Hui's house: two computers, Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials and related equipment, and other items totally close to 20,000 yuan in value.

13. [Gucheng County, Hebei Province] Dong Yanwen and Dozens of Falun Gong Practitioners are Arrested

From February 28 to March 1, 2006, the Zhengkou Township Police Station and other county police stations arrested dozens of Falun Gong practitioners. They were illegally detained at different police stations. The whereabouts of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Dong Yanwen, Mr. Xu Wenqing, Mr. Liu Zhiwen, Mr. Shang Jingzhong, Ms. Wang Xiuzhi, Ms. Li Lanfen, Ms. Zhou Guilan, Ms. Zhang Guizhi, Mr. Li Bingrong, Mr. Diao Zhanglin, Mr. Xu Yingxin, Ms. Liu Yuanzhen, and others are unknown.

It was reported that a document entitled "Ensure Public Security, Prevent Appeal" was being passed down before the congressional meeting. The recent arrests are likely related to this set of orders.

14. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Liu Sitang Is Arrested

At around 8 p.m. on March 2, 2006, a retired employee of the Jinan Province Steel Factory, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Sitang, was arrested by police.

15. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Li Shaozhong and Bai Shunqi Are Arrested by 610 Office Police

On March 1, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners Bai Shunqi and Li Shaozhong, who worked at the city hospital, were arrested by the city's Political Security Bureau police on their way to work. Li Shaozong did not return home after work, and her family did not know of her arrest by the 610 Office until after checking with the hospital. Her whereabout is not known.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bai Shunqi from Dongyangtai Village, Donganzhuang County, Shenzhou City, about forty years old, was arrested by the 610 Office on the night of March 2. They harassed his family and confiscated a copy machine and Falun Gong materials from his house.

16. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Qingyuan County Police Department Plots to Arrest Practitioners for Posting Truth Clarifying Material

Truth clarifying materials were posted by Falun Gong practitioners in Xinglongxiao District recently. In order to arrest Falun Gong practitioners, two groups of police waited in Xinglongxiao District, intending to arrest practitioners who posted truth-clarifying materials there.

17. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Security Police Harass and Arrest Wang Lufen and Other Practitioners

Around February 20, 2006, Fushun City Police Department and National Security Bureau forcibly confiscated items from Gaowan Area Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Lufen's house and attempted to arrest Wang Lufen, who has difficulty moving around. Wang Lufen's husband managed to reason with them, but the police arrested and detained their teenage daughter at the City National Security Unit.

These police also arrested two local Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhao Lihua and 60-year-old Ms. Jin. A computer was confiscated in the process. Both practitioners were being detained in the Fushun City Nangou Detention Center.

In addition, they summoned deceased Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Zhengchun's daughter for trial.

18. [Masanjia, Liaoning Province] Listing of Falun Gong Practitioners Detained in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp No. 1 Unit

The police extended the imprisonment terms of practitioners Ms. Wang Ling, Ms. Jiang Chunxia, Ms. Xin Suhua, Ms. Wu Yueju, Ms. Qu Sumei, and a practitioner whose name was unknown.

19. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] You Guoying Is Arrested and Sentenced

Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province Falun Gong practitioner Ms. You Guoying was illegally detained and sentenced to four and half years in prison by the Wuxi City Xinqu Court.

20. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ma Yun and Fang Jianping Are Arrested

On February 24, 2006, Lanzhou City Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ma Yun and Mr. Fang Jianping, along with seven other practitioners, were arrested by Lanzhou City police.

21. [Wenzhou City, Fujian Province] More than Thirty Falun Gong Practitioners Are Persecuted

In the past few years, at least more than thirty Falun Gong practitioners have been sentenced and sent to forced labor in Wenzhou City. Every year practitioners were forcibly sent to brainwashing centers.

22. [Xishu City, Hubei Province] Yang Yunhua Is Arrested and Persecuted by the National Security Bureau

On January 21, 2006 Xishu City, Hubei Province Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Yunhau was arrested by the Xishu National Security Bureau and sent to be persecuted in the basement of Luotian Police Station. After the New Year, he was sent to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center.

In the evening of February 20, 2006, Qichun City, Hubei Province Falun Gong practitioner Xiao Sun was arrested by Xishui Township, Qichun City police. She was detained at the Xishu No. 1 Police Station. Her house was ransacked and searched.
