I am a Falun Gong practitioner who has suffered from the brutal persecution in Tianjin City. Almost all of the illegally detained female Falun Gong practitioners in Tianjin City and the near-by counties were sent to the Banqiao Labor Camp in Dagang area. This labor camp later changed its name to Tianjin Women's Labor Camp.

Every illegally detained Falun Gong practitioner was charged 320 yuan to pay for a physical examination. After I entered the shabby room they called an "examination room," they checked my blood pressure, and then used a broken stethoscope to "listen to me" for a long time. I was forced to pay 320 yuan for these two simple procedures. Even the police who sent me there said they were corrupt.

The labor camp is divided into two divisions, plus another team. The team is comprised of steadfast Falun Gong practitioners. The labor camp calls it the "team to attack strong holders" and they cruelly persecute practitioners there. This "attacking team" is composed of criminals and collaborators. The collaborators first attempt to "transform" practitioners by twisting and attacking the teachings of Falun Gong. If this fails, a series of physical punishments would start.

One torture method involved standing or kneeling with one's back against the wall, the head dropped forward, and both hands pulled up from behind and bound.

Another torture method was the Sitting Board. Practitioners were forced to put their hands on top of their laps, keep their backs straight and sit on benches for 18 hours per day for over fifty days. Practitioners were not allowed to sleep barely at all. Practitioners were cursed and humiliated by other criminals, who used both hard and soft tactics to weaken the will. The evil "transformation" classes were scheduled one after another. A questionnaire was used to evaluate practitioners' thoughts, and practitioners were regularly asked to fill them out. Slanderous articles attacking Falun Gong were loudly broadcasted through the loudspeakers. They had a point system, and practitioners were assigned points based on their attitude towards the forced "transformation" as well as answers given to the questionnaire. The points could increase or decrease.

There are many things that Falun Gong practitioners were forced to do.

Near the end of 2002 and the beginning of 2003, a post-doctoral student named Qiu Xueyan was beaten in a small jail cell by criminals under orders from the police, due to her refusal to accept brainwashing. After she regained consciousness from being beaten, they beat her again and again. At the same time they tied her four limbs to a bunk bed, cursed at her, slammed her face, and forbid her from contacting other people.

There are still many Falun Gong practitioners suffering persecution. Zhao Dewen, Dong Yuying, and others were killed in this evil place. This labor camp is filled with a gloomy and horrific dread. The police there are still persecuting the Falun Gong practitioners, even though some of the police have already encountered tribulations.

 Ms. Zhou Jianzhen is a Falun Gong practitioner who worked in the Zhuolu Middle School in Hebei Province and received the honor of being a City-Level Excellent Teacher. Because she clarified the truth about Falun Gong, she was arrested. Those responsible included Chang Ruitian, male, the Director of the County Education Department; Wang Dalei, male, the Deputy Director of the County Education Department; Lu Changming, male, the Principal of the Zhuolu Middle School; and Li Ziming, male, from the County 610 Office. Ms. Zhou has been held in the Zhangjiakou Brainwashing Center for almost eight months. In the process of trying to rescue his wife, Ms. Zhou Jianzhen's husband had about 30,000 yuan extorted from him by the local 610 Office and people from the Zhuolu Middle School.

According to those from Zhoulu Middle School who know the details, the school has retained Ms. Zhou Jianzhen's salary for the past eight months, amounting to at least 16 to 17,000 yuan. The school claimed that it was charged as a fine. The school also extorted another 1,200 yuan from Ms. Zhou Jianzhen's husband, claiming that it was used to supplement the salary of the education personnel sent from the school to accompany Ms. Zhou.

Ms. Zhou Jianzhen and her family were fined 2,500 yuan by the local 610 Office and 4,600 by the brainwashing center. In an effort to rescue his wife, Ms. Zhou Jianzhen's husband had 400 yuan extorted from him by Zhao Xuan, male, county CCP member and Director of the County 610 Office, who used the excuse of dining out. The county 610 Office CCP cadres Li Ziming, male, and Ban Zhiyong, male, extorted money from her husband twice for a total of 2,000 yuan for "dining out." Out of that 2,000 yuan, Li Ziming spent 300 yuan on prostitution. Li also claimed that he needed to borrow some money to try to extort an additional 1,500 yuan from Ms. Zhou Jianzhen's husband, without giving him a receipt. Because of these repeated fines, however, Ms. Zhou Jianzhen's family was experiencing severe financial difficulties and could only borrow 500 yuan to hand over to Li. Li did not give up his demands until Ms. Zhou's family begged. Not counting what the CCP members forced Ms. Zhou's family to pay for "accompanying education personnel," as well as other expenses, the amount directly extorted from Ms. Zhou Jianzhen alone reached 30,000 yuan.

Ms. Zhou Jianzhen used to make a comfortable living, but now, due to CCP persecution, her family's living conditions have become very difficult. As an excellent teacher at the city level, simply because she has faith in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance, she has been tortured by the CCP and is now suffering from illegal detention, brainwashing, beating and cursing.

Below are cases of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Handan Forced Labor Camp.

People who participated in beating Falun Gong practitioners to differing degrees: Liu Zhaobo, Zhang Wenshan, Zuo Tao and others.  Falun Gong practitioner Gao Guang'en from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province passed away on the morning of January 5, 2006, from the persecution. Over the past few years, due to his perseverance in practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Gao's house had been broken into several times. He had also been illegally arrested, had money extorted from him, and was imprisoned, tortured and harassed by the local police on several occasions.

Mr. Gao Guang'en, 52 years old, was a practitioner from Wujia Town, Shuangcheng City. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, and was cured of cranial atherosclerosis, heart diseases and high blood pressure, among other problems.

After the persecution began in July 1999, Gao Guang'en suffered numerous instances of persecution by the local Chinese Communist Party government. On March 14, 2003, Gao Guang'en went to Beijing to clarify the truth in accordance with the Chinese Constitution. He was imprisoned at the Second Detention Center in Shuangcheng City. The local 610 Office forced his family members to pay 3,000 yuan in order to have him released on bail, and promised that he would be released once they obtained the money. However, after the money was paid, Mr. Gao was still not released, and ten days later, he was brought back to Wujia Town by the police. Instead, of being allowed to go home, he was directly sent to the town government and detained there for three months.

Three months later, Gao Guang'en returned home. However, he wasn't able to live even one day in peace. One month later, he was deceived by Wujia Town Police Station and forced to attend a brainwashing session and was detained there for a month before being released.

Since then, the police have never stopped harassing Gao Guang'en. These incidents caused tremendous physical and psychological pain to Mr. Gao and his family.

At 9:00 a.m. on May 10, 2002, the police broke into Mr. Gao's house once again. They stole Teacher's portrait. At 6:00 p.m. on May 21, 2002, seven to eight police officers and Wujia Town Police Station's Deputy Chief Li broke into Gao Guang'en's home again. They took him away and detained him at the Second Detention Center in Shuangcheng City. Months later, a severely tortured Gao Guang'en was sentenced to forced labor at the Changlinzi Labor Camp for a year.

The Changlinzi Labor Camp is well known for its cruelty and brutality. Gao Guang'en suffered immense torture until he was emaciated, fainted on the ground many times, and could not even walk, before he was allowed to be brought home by his relatives. Even then, the inhumane labor camp extorted another 200 yuan from his family members.

After returning home, Mr. Gao's state of health fluctuated up and down. Throughout this period, the police came to his house to harass him constantly. This resulted in severe psychological stress on Gao. His health deteriorated. Finally, on the morning of January 5, 2006, Gao Guang'en passed away.

If Jiang Zemin's wicked regime had not began the persecution, Gao Guang'en would have lived a normal life like many people around him. However, the Chinese Communist Party colluded with the Jiang regime and orchestrated this persecution against a community of practitioners who practice the principles of "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance." The persecution has resulted in countless tragedies throughout the world, and Gao Guang'en's story is one among the millions of people affected. Compassionate Chinese people, in order to stop such a tragedy from repeating again, please abandon the evil cult of the Chinese Communist Party as soon as possible.

 Mr. Yang Zhizhong, in his fifties, was a Falun Gong practitioner from the Huanren County Forestry Bureau in Liaoning Province. Since 1999, he was repeatedly arrested and illegally detained, and was also sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was brutally tortured and subjected to brainwashing in the Drug Rehabilitation Center in Benxi City. After Mr. Yang was released from the prison, he made Falun Gong truth-clarification materials in Huanren County and traveled between Huanren County and Benxi City. In 2003, during the time when SARS was spreading, he was arrested and sentenced to severe punishment. In the forced labor camp, he was subjected to brutal torture and brainwashing. His mind and body suffered extreme damage. When he was released home, he had already lost a lot of weight and was at his last breath. He passed away in January 2006.

Ms. Li Jing, in her seventies, was a Falun Gong practitioner who worked as an elementary school teacher of Huanren County in Liaoning Province. In the spring of 2000, she went to Beijing City to appeal and was arrested by police who took her away and illegally held her in the local detention center and brainwashing center. In addition, the school retained her retirement salary. She was subjected to a series of different forms of harassment. Her mind and body were badly damaged and she passed away in January 2006.

Mr. Han Xizhong, in his fifties, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Xiaoenbu Village, Erhulai Town, Huanren County in Liaoning Province. In the spring of 2000, he went to Beijing City with more than ten Falun Gong practitioners in the village to appeal for Falun Gong, but was arrested on his way to Beijing and sent back to the local detention center. There he was subjected to a brutal torture method, "Five Horses Splitting a Body," (1) for two days and two nights. Subsequently, he was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor and was held in the Drug Rehabilitation Center of Benxi City, where he was subjected to brutal torture and brainwashing. His mind and heart were severely hurt. After he was released home, he passed away in December 2005.

Belated News: Police illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Duan Shibao from Baoji City, Shaanxi Province on October 25, 2004. He was savagely tortured. The police searched him and handcuffed him behind his back. They tied his feet with a belt and put him in a vehicle. They drove him to the Dawang Police Department where they immediately beat and tortured him. They handcuffed him backwards to the head of a bed and for over ten hours forbade him to close his eyes, use the restroom, or eat or drink. The next day, more than 20 police officers arrived and took turns beating Duan Shibao. They forced him to half squat with his arms stretched out level in front of him and put a glass of water on his head. They later sent him to a brainwashing class held at the Baoji City Nitrogenous Fertilizer Factory.

He was handcuffed for one month at the brainwashing center. The Communist regime agents arrested nine of his family members, including his parents, his sister and brother, his brother-in-law, his nephew and sister-in-law and son. All were sent to the brainwashing center. They also fined each person 1,000 yuan. They later sent Duan Shibao to the No. 2 Detention Center in Baoji City. These morally bankrupt people extorted more than 10,000 yuan from him and took additional money and private belongings from his home. According to the policy, one cannot be held for more than 37 days at the No. 2 Detention Center, yet Duan Shibao was held there for 56 days. He was later sent to the No. 1 Detention Center where he was subjected to another round of torture.

During the past few years of persecution, Duan Shibao was sent to brainwashing centers and detention centers three times. He was held in a custody center once, and in a labor camp for two years. This time he was sentenced to eight years in prison. During the first labor camp stay, his brother and sister-in-law were sent to the labor camp along with him, and his father and nephew were held in a custody center, which caused them great trauma.

1. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Falun Gong practitioner Ma Chunli's Life is in Peril

The Dehui City Court sentenced Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Chunli to six years of imprisonment. Though hospitals and prisons would not accept Ma due to her critical condition, the court still issued a "Notice of Prohibiting Medical Parole." Thus, every administration office shirks their responsibilities and defers to others by using the notice as an excuse. Ma's medical bail has still not been approved. Ma was tortured to the point of becoming extremely emaciated. She depends on life-sustaining intravenous feeding.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Sun Liwen and Tian Yunhai Secretly Sentenced - Belated News -

In July 2005, Falun Gong practitioners Sun Liwen and Tian Yunhai were arrested in Dalian City and secretly sentenced in that city's Ganjingzi Court; even their relatives were not informed. The verdict was announced recently. Tian's father went from his hometown in Jilin City to Dalian City to visit his son three times; however, all his requests for visitation rights were rejected.

Practitioner Ms. Zang Yumei was sentenced on the same day, but detailed information about her is unavailable.

3. [Shandong Province] He Xiuling Tortured to Death; Husband Needs Legal Support - Belated News -

Almost two years ago, personnel from the Yantan City "610 Office " and police and from the Zifu Detention Center in Shandong Province tortured practitioner Ms. He Xiuling to death. Her husband, Mr. Xu Chengben, has appealed, beginning at the local procuratorate, all the way to the Highest Procuratorate, to expose those people and organizations who committed the crime. However, the injustice has not yet been exonerated.

There was an agreement for relatives to view her body at any time during cryogenic storage that the police department and detention center officials must not prohibit such a visit. However, when Xu Chengben and other relatives went to see her body on February 9, 2006, the police and "610 Office" personnel went against the agreement and denied their right to view the body.

Xu Chengben is going to take legal action because abusers from the "610 Office" and the detention center not only tortured his wife to death, but also violated the agreement and prevented him from viewing his wife's body. 4. [Guizhou Province] Several Practitioners Sentenced in November 2005

Around October 2004, personnel from the Anshun City National Security Bureau arrested practitioners Ms. Luo Yunzhi, Chen Hualiang and Ms. Li Ruping from Guiyang City, and Yao Junjing, Liu Shukang, Ms. Zhang Yan, Tang Ling and Ms. Qi Jiaqin from Pingba County Liyang Factory in Anshun City. These practitioners were sentenced at Xixiu District Court in Anshun City in November 2005. Of them, practitioner Li Ruping was sentenced to six years of imprisonment; Luo Yunzhi, 5 years; Yao Junjing, nine years; Zhang Yan gave in to the police and thus received a shorter sentence of three years with four years of probation.

5. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Zhang Xiuqing Arrested and Home Ransacked

At 9:00 a.m. on February 20, 2006, three policemen from the Xiangyang Patrol Team including Jin Chengyuan went to practitioner Zhang Xiuqing's home in the Zhubantun area and ransacked the place. They confiscated some Falun Gong books and forcibly arrested Zhang Xiuqing and later sent him/her to Jiamusi City Detention Center.

6. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Wang Zishan Sentenced to a Brainwashing Class after Three Years of Forced Labor

In 2003, personnel from the Guangdong Province Police Department arrested practitioner Wang Zishan from Guangdong Province and sentenced him to three years of forced labor at the Sanshui City Forced Labor Camp. Wang Zishan was forced to do manual labor and study brainwashing materials. He was supposed to be released when his term had expired on February 18, 2006. However, personnel from the labor camp collaborated with agents from the Shunde City's "610 Office." They transferred Wang Zishan to the Provincial Legal School on February 17 for further brainwashing.

7. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Arrest Practitioners Zou Xiaoying, Liu Xianghua and Liu Yajuan

On February 11, 2006, personnel from the Mudanjiang City National Security Bureau and from the Ning'an City National Security Bureau arrested practitioner Ms. Zou Xiaoying from Mudanjiang City and Ms. Liu Yajuan from Ning'an City. Ms. Liu Xianghua from Mudanjiang City was arrested at the same time. Police surrounded Liu Yajuan's home with their vehicles. They climbed over the wall and confiscated her computer, printer, truth-clarifying materials, some other personal property and a bankbook containing a deposit worth 40,000 yuan. At present, police are taking turns to torture and interrogate practitioners.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Hao Fukui Secretly Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment

By the end of January 2006, 70-year-old practitioner Mr. Hao Fukui's family found out that personnel from Dalian City Development Zone Court had secretly sentenced Hao Fukui to three years of imprisonment. They asked court officials why the family was not informed. The officials replied that they didn't have to.

Hao Fukui lived with his daughter in the Dalian City Development Zone. He holds a temporary residency card. The morning of May 20, 2005, personnel from the Dalian City Development Zone Police Department collaborated with personnel from Huaihai Road Police Station. These people forcibly opened the door and arrested Hao Fukui. To date, they haven't permitted Hao Fukui's family members to visit him.

9. [Suining County, Jiangsu Province] Personnel from Suining County's 610 Office and from the Police Department Arrest Five Practitioners

On January 27, 2006, personnel from the "610 Office" and from the police department arrested practitioners Ms. Wang Meidi, Ms. Shen Guiying, Ms. Zhou Xianfeng, Ms. Ma Jie and Ms. Tong Xiaohong at their homes. They are currently still being detained.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrest and Beat Practitioner Chen Jun

On February 13, 2006, personnel from the Ganjinzi District National Security Team arrested practitioner Mr. Chen Jun, in his 40s, from his workplace. They also ransacked his home. Chen is currently being held at the Jinjia District Street Detention Center. Deputy head Dong Shiguo from the National Security Team beat Chen Jun savagely.

11. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Police Make an Arrest Sweep on Practitioners

A few days ago, some practitioners from Langfang City were arrested for going to Xianghe and trying to rescue arrested practitioners. Later, several practitioners including Cao Baoyu, Zhou Xiuzhen and Zhang Ruihua walked out from capture with their righteous belief. But at around 7:00 a.m. on February 19, personnel from the local police department colluded with those from local police stations and broke into the homes of the three practitioners and arrested them again.

On February 5, 2006, practitioner Mr. Cao Ruitang who lives at the Xing'an Outlet Market in Langfang City went to Xianghe to rescue practitioner Wang Shaoqiu. Afterwards, personnel from the Guangyang District Police Department arrested him and sent him into the Langfang City Detention Center. Cao Ruitang went on a protest hunger strike and was released because of his rapidly declining health. Only a few days later, persecutors from the Anci District Police Department and the Beishiwu Police Station broke into his home and attempted to arrest him again. Fortunately Cao escaped, but has to live in exile now.

Between February 19 and 21, 2006, personnel from the Guangyang District Police Department and from the Xinkailu Police Station surrounded the homes of practitioners Liu Yajie and Wan Yaqin. They live in the No.3 District of the City Pipeline Administration Bureau. Police vehicles were parked at the entrance to the building, and police attempted to arrest the two practitioners.

During the morning on February 19, 2006, officers from the Guangyang District Police Department and from the Xinkailu Police Station arrested practitioner Shi Zhimin from Shi's home in the Langfang City's Hanyi Textile Factory.

At around 1:00 p.m. police arrested practitioner Ms. Li Qiuhong from her home in Nandian Village, Nanjianta Township. They took her mother, her mentally disabled sister and her younger daughter, about 7 or 8 years old away in a police vehicle.

Police arrested practitioner Shi Zhimin, in his/her 70s, though Shi had just been released a few days earlier and was still sick in bed. Police wrapped Shi in a blanket while Shi only had on underwear, put the practitioner into an official vehicle and transported him/her to a brainwashing class.

That day, seven practitioners were put into the Langfang City Brainwashing Class. They're all on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.

Practitioner Chen Jian from Guangzhou City was scheduled to be tried and sentenced at 8:45 a.m. on February 28, 2006 at Room 201 in the Yuexiu District Court.

13. [Jiangsu Province] New Weekly Review of the Jiangsu Province Legislation Newspaper Recently Published an Article to Frame and Slander American Practitioner Charles Lee

On February 17, 2006, New Weekly Review of the Jiangsu Province Legislation Newspaper (run by the Xinhua Daily News Group) published a special report on page two to slander Falun Gong with fabricated information --"View the[slanderous words omitted] through American Chinese Charles Lee," authored by Jiangfa.

14. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Elementary School Teacher Li Ru Arrested for Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong to Other Teachers

On February 16, 2006, practitioner Li Ru, a teacher at the Yonghelu Elementary School in the Lichang District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province was arrested for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to other teachers in the school. At present, Li is being held at Dashan Detention Center.

15. [Beijing] Four Practitioners from Capital Normal University Arrested

During the evening of February 19, 2006, four practitioners including Li Hua, Huang Shengjie and Yang Le were arrested at their homes. They are being detained at Haidian District Police Department at present.

16. [Beijing] Practitioner Jin Xuefang Currently Held in the Dongcheng District Detention Center

On October 29, 2005, guards and policemen from the Tiananmen Area arrested practitioner Ms. Jin Xuefang for clarifying the truth and distributing truth-clarifying materials to passersby at Tiananmen Square. They first held her at the Tongzhou District Detention Center in Beijing; then, around December 10, 2005, they transferred her to the Pre-trial Section of Beijing's No.2 holding facility. Since her arrest, the police have denied all family visits.

It was learned that she has since been transferred to the Dongcheng District Detention Center.

17. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

A male practitioner surnamed Sha from the Nanqi District in Hefei City was recently arrested. He is being held at the Anhui University Brainwashing Class. Policemen are staying in and around his home in the Daban Building, Nanqi District, to arrest other practitioners. They have arrested four practitioners so far.

18. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Practitioners Ni Chunlan and Zhang Xiaopin Arrested for Clarifying the Truth

On the night of February 5, 2006, practitioner Mr. Ni Chunlan, in his 50s, a policeman from the Shuangshibei Forced Labor Camp in Nanyang City and Ms. Zhang Xiaopin, 33 years old, a laid-off employee of the City Textile Factory, were reported to police when they clarified the truth to people in the textile factory. Later, police officer Duan Xiancheng and Du Siwei from the Wancheng District in Nanyang City ransacked their homes and arrested them. At present, they are being held at the city's No.1 Detention Center, the Shangzhuang Detention Center.

19. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Wang from the Hanting District Arrested and Home Ransacked

On February 19, 2006, two plainclothes police officers took practitioner Ms. Wang from the Hanting District in Weifang City to the Hanting District Police Department for clarifying the truth. Police department head surnamed Yu spoke with her and asked her where she was from. She told them her address, and then police ransacked her home. They confiscated Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials, but they didn't take her away from home. They told her she has to pay them a 3,000 to 5,000-yuan "fine," otherwise they would arrest her.

20. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Lawless Policemen Illegally Search Practitioner Li Changchun's House and Arrest Him

Practitioner Mr. Li Changchun, about 30 years old, is from Pingdingbu Township, Tieling City, Liaoning Province. On February 18, 2006, the Pingdingbao Police Station head led some lawless policemen and arrested Mr. Li and searched his house. Currently, he is locked up in the county's detention center.

21. [Fujian Province] Wei Jianyu Arrested

During the afternoon of February 20, 2006, policemen arrested practitioner Wei Jianyu at practitioner Shao Wu's home and searched Wei Jianyu's house. Wei Jianyu's whereabouts are unknown.

22. [Beijing] Practitioner Couple Yang Le and Huang Disappear

It was reported that at about 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. on February 19, 2006, the Yang Le and Huang couple disappeared successively when they were at the Zizhuyuan Area in the Haidian District. Police from the National Security Team may have arrested them.

23. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Wei Xing Detained at Zhou Village's 610 Office

Practitioner Wei Xing (Benzhi) is from Zhou Village, Zibo City, Shandong Province. On January 23, 2006, personnel from the National Security Team arrested Wei Xing and put him/her into the Dazhuang Detention Center on January 25. Recently Wei Xing was transferred to Zhou Village's "610 Office."

24. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Xu Yongfan Arrested

According to an insider, before the end of January 2006, personnel from the Qinhuangdao City "610 Office" and from the city's Police Department and National Security Team arrested practitioner Mr. Xu Yongfan. They put him in detention.

Xu Yongfan is an employee of the City Bohai Aluminum Company who has been arrested several times for practicing Falun Gong. On January 12, 2006, policemen arrested him again and searched his house.

During the detention period, lawless policemen brutally tortured him and tried to force him to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Other practitioners and sympathizers are forbidden to speak with Xu Yongfan. The police are attempting to break him mentally.

On February 20, 2006, police from the Mao County Department arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Ye Guilan and her husband Lai Daoquan, and another practitioner. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.

3. [Beijing City] Mr. Yang Le and Others Have Been Missing for Several Days

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Yang Le, Mr. and Mrs. Huang, and Ms. Li have been missing since the evening of February 19, 2006. We think they must have been arrested.

4. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Shi Yuhua Tortured to the Point of Dying

On December 20, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Yuhua and twenty eight fellow practitioners were arrested and detained in the Changde City First Detention Center. She is dying from being severely tortured.

Another Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Zhaoqing detained in Linli County Detention Center is facing a ten year prison term.

6. [Huinan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Jun Tortured in Changchun City Women's Forced Labor Camp

It has been confirmed that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Jun from Huinana County has been tortured by being locked in a small cell (1) many times since being detained in the Changchun City Women's Forced Labor Camp in December 2005. Her family went to visit her before January 29, 2006 (Chinese New Year), but guards did not allow the visit.

(1) "Small cell" - The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position. The practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night rats run around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Manfen Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor

On October 7, 2000, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Manfen was arrested when appealing at Tiananmen Square. She had been detained since October 10, 2000 in a county detention center. Because she spoke the truth, she had been sentenced to two years of forced labor with the fabricated excuse of "disturbing the social order." She had been sent to the Changchun City Women's Forced Labor Camp on December 4, 2000, where she was tortured with fifteen hours of forced heavy labor every day, and constant brainwashing. She was released one year early (in 2001).

8. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Qinglan (in Her 50s) Arrested

On the afternoon of February 21, 2006, police from Encheng Town Station stormed into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Qinglan's home in Dongyantai Village, Shilipu Town, Pingyuan County. They ransacked her home and arrested her. Later they took her from the Station to the National Security Group of the County Police Department, where she was tortured by being tied to a chair overnight. Ms. Wang Qinglan is still detained in the National Security Group.

9. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mrs. Shi Yuling Arrested

On the evening of February 21, 2006, at around 6-7 p.m., more than ten policemen from Beishiwu Station of Langfang City stormed in Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Shi Yuling's home by climbing a ladder on top of the roof and forcibly arresting Mrs. Shi Yuling. Her family members tried to stop the illegal arrest, but were all held down on the ground by policemen. Policemen sent Mrs. Shi to a brainwashing class located in the Jiaotong Hotel.

Mrs. Shi Yuling's husband Wang Fenghai (also a practitioner) is locked in the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp because he went to Xianghe County to rescue Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shaoqiu on February 5, 2006.

10. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Baoyu, Ms. Zhou Xiuzhen and Ms. Zhang Ruihua Arrested

Many Falun Gong practitioners from the Langfang City area were arrested because they went to rescue detained fellows practitioners in Xianghe County. Ms. Cao Baoyu, Ms. Zhou Xiuzhen, and Ms. Zhang Ruihua were released. At around 7:00 a.m., police from the local Station and City Departments stormed in these practitioners' homes, arrested the three practitioners, and put Ms. Liu Yajie and Ms. Fang Yaqin under house arrest, causing them to lose their normal lives.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Zuo Weihua (male) Harassed Falun Gong practitioners Repeatedly

In late December 2005, Zui Weihua and Hu Xiaopang (male, from the same village) stormed in Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Yanlin's home, notified Neighborhood Security, and tried to have Mr. Xu arrested. He also broke into Mr. Xu's house many times to harass him, but he failed to have Mr. Xu arrested every time. In the middle of January 2006, Zuo Weihua once again led the Neighborhood Security and police from the local Station to arrest Mr. Xu Yanlin but they failed again. They then stormed into another Falun Gong practitioner's home, ransacked the place, and took away the Falun Gong materials.

12. [Liaoning Province] Falun Gong practitioners Detained in Fushun City Second Prison

Falun Gong practitioners detained in Fushun City Second Prison are all locked in small cells with handcuffs and ankle shackles. They have been tortured this way for several months, and they do not have enough to eat.

Mr. Li Shangshi, 59, lived in the Forestry Family Housing Building in 141, on Xinglin Street, in Xinglongtai District, Panjin City, Liaoning Province. He was sentenced to fourteen years in prison, and his stomach is damaged due to brutal force-feedings when he was protesting with hunger strikes.

Mr. Cui Jian, 40, lives in Twelfth Building in 171, on Nanbazhong Street, in the Tiexi District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. He was sentenced to ten years in prison.

Mr. Zhang Shiwen, 50, lives in the Lianshan District of Huludao City, Liaoning Province, and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Mr. Hu Yongli, 44, lived on Chengdong Street, in Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province, and was sentenced to six years in prison.

Mr. Geng Chunlong, 34, lives in Qiantai Village, Huzhuang Township, Dashiqiao City, Liaoning Province. He has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Mr. Zhang Jinsheng, lives in the 7^th Group of Hunhe Street, in Qingyuan Town, Qingyuan County, Fushen City. He has been sentenced to thirteen years in prison. His older brother is Zhang Jinbo and his daughter is Zhang Rui.

Mr. Wang Jingchun, 38, lives in Qingduizi Village, in Shoushan Township, Liaoyang County, Liaoyang City. He has been sentenced to ten years in prison, and was locked in a small cell once.

Mr. Wang Hongjun, 33, lives in the Lijia Township, in Hulan County, Heilongjiang Province. He was sentenced to thirteen years in prison. His older sister Wang Liying lives in Fushun City.

Mr. Xu Dawei, 33, lives in Yinggemen Township, Qingyuan County, Fushen City. He has been sentenced to eight years in prison, and has been locked in a small cell twice.

13. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Minghuan and Others Arrested and Tortured

At around 10:00 p.m. on the evening of February 10, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Minghuan from Fanzhai Village, Fanzhai Township, Guan County had just gone to bed when more than ten policemen climbed over the wall, broke her house windows, kicked open her bedroom door, cuffed her (when she was only wearing long underpants), and carried her onto a vehicle waiting outside of her village.

Ms. Yu was clarifying the truth to policemen on the way, but the evil man pulled out a bundle of wheat greens, and stuffed her mouth with the wheat roots full of dirt. Her husband took a comforter to the Fanzhai Township government office, but policemen chased him out, resulting in Ms. Yu freezing overnight. She was sent to Guan County Detention Center the next day. Ms. Yu was previously very healthy, but she felt chest pain, her hands were shaking, and she is still detained.

As of February 21, 2006, the following Falun Gong practitioners have been detained in Guan County Detention Center: Ms. Yu Minghuan, Ms. Tang Zhen'e, and Ms. Sun Yueqin. The following practitioners are locked in a brainwashing class: Ms. Yang Zhaoling, Ms. Zhang Aixian, Mr. Wang Baohe.

14. [Beijing City] Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Kong Fanfen, Retired First Class Researcher in the China Science Academy, Arrested and Missing

15. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Guiqin and Others Arrested

On February 11, 2006, CCP Yilan County Secretary Liu Wenbin (male) directed the arresting of Falun Gong practitioners in the County. They ransacked Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Jingfen's home in Sandaogang Town, and Ms. Wang Yufeng, Ms. Duan Shuhua, Ms. Li Jing's homes in Beixing Village, Sandaogang Town. They arrested these four practitioners, and detained them in Yilan County Second Detention Center. At around 7:00 p.m. on the same day, they ransacked Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Fu Guiqin's home, arrested her, and detained her.

16. [Heilongjiang Province] Falun Gong practitioners Detained in the Eighth Ward of Harbin City Women's Prison Tortured Again

On January 17, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners detained in Harbin Women's Prison refused to wear the prison uniform and requested to be released unconditionally, but they were tortured again because of their reasonable act. Guards locked Ms. Jia Shuying and Ms. Li Xiuhua in small cells, which are very cold and humid so people need to wear coats in July and August. Practitioners have been locked in the small cell for several months at a time, even nine months duration. Those who were not locked in the small cell were tortured by being cuffed onto the bed frames, and being deprived of sleep. Brutal beatings given to whomever closed their eyes.

17. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liang Shuxiang Arrested Again

On February 4, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Shuxiang was arrested again by Qianjiaying Town Government 610 Officers and police from the local station. They directly sent her to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp without any legal procedures, and tortured her and sentenced her later to three years of forced labor.

18. [Puning City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Jiang Huichan Arrested

On the morning of February 21, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Huichan, 73, was clarifying the truth at the market at around 7:00 a.m. when she was arrested by a policeman hiding there. Policemen ransacked her home at around 7:40 a.m. and did not find anything. Ms. Jiang Huichan was detained in the Puning City Detention Center at around 6:00 p.m. and has been there since that day.

19. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Ying and Others Arrested

At around 9:00 a.m. on February 21, 2006, more than ten people from the Qinglongchang Police Station, Qinglongchang Neighborhood Administration, and the 610 Office went to Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Ying's home in Qinglong Garden and arrested Ms. Liu Ying and two other practitioners who were taking care of Ms. Liu Ying.

Ms. Liu Ying was arrested in September 2005, and was locked in a brainwashing class in Chenghua District. She was released home on January 18, 2006, but suffered from a mental collapse only several days later. She talked disorderedly, spit everywhere, and urinated in the rooms. She could not take care of herself at all. Falun Gong practitioners went to help her in her house, but were arrested on February 21.
