Despite Lack of Evidence, Four Falun Gong Practitioners Put on Trial in Zunhua City

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 25, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Qiang, 36 , who is a resident in the Yufeng Building in Lubei District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, was illegally arrested by Zunhua City Domestic Security Division. He was taken to the Zunhua Detention Center to be incarcerated and subsequently transferred to the Procuratorate. After being held for 8 days, without any evidence of having committed a crime, the Zunhua Procuratorate held a secret trial on four Falun Gong practitioners, including Li Qiang and Zhao Jingjun.

Around 12 p.m. on July 25, 2008, eight policemen from the Zunhua Domestic Security Division led by head Wang Kunyuan came to Mr. Li Qiang's work unit to arrest him. Mr. Li was working in the electric power room of the Tangshan Tangshan Post Office. They also went to his house to ransack and confiscate his property. They took away his laptop computer and some personal belongings. They then sent him to Zunhua City Detention Center to be persecuted. His wife questioned the people who came to ransack their house and asked them what crime had her husband committed? The police exclaimed that they would definitely find some evidence to show her.

Before this incident, around 12:30 p.m. on July 6, 2008, people from Zunhua City Domestic Security Division and 610 Office agent Wang Kunyuan, collaborated with the Dongjiuzhai Township Police Station. A dozen policemen barged into the residence of Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Jingjun to ransack his house in Qihu Village. The police kicked Zhao Jingqun's son, who is only 3 years old, and verbally abused him. This gang also secretly sprayed a poisonous substance into the faces of his 10-year-old son, Yang Yang, as well as his aged mother, who is in her 60s. The spray was very irritating and stinky.

Currently, Li Qiang and many other practitioners are still being detained at the Zunhua Detention Center.
