Practitioners in Wanzhou District, Chongqing City Arrested and Their Family Property Confiscated by Police

(Clearwisdom.net) At 9:30 a.m. on February 27, 2008, 68-year-old practitioner Ms. Wang Minghui was clarifying the truth at the entrance of Wanzhou District Three Gorges Central Hospital. Suddenly local police officers illegally arrested her.

Station assistant manager, Zhang Ping (female), Han Yu (male), and Zhan Youkui (male) were involved in the arrest. Ms. Wang was detained at the Zhoujiaba Detention Center until March 27, when she was taken to the Chongqing City Women's Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-and-a-half-year illegal sentence.

Mr. Zhang Xingyu, a practitioner in his fifties, lives in the Xiaozhouxi Area of Wanzhou District. In mid-March 2008, police officers from the Dazhouxi local police station arrested Mr. Zhang and took him to Zhoujiaba Detention Center. They later illegally sentenced him to three years of forced labor.

On May 28, practitioner Mr. Wan Xinlin from Longdonggou Village, Gaoliang Town, was illegally arrested by police officers from the Lijiahe local police station. Presently, he is being held at the Zhoujiaba Detention Center.

On June 11, at 3:30 p.m., eight people climbed over the wall of the home of practitioner Song Mingzhi (gender unknown). They entered the courtyard and tried to break down the locked gate. When their attempts were unsuccessful, they picked the lock and forcibly broke in. While inside, they confiscated some Dafa materials.

Three of the eight people involved in this illegal arrest were Tan Yong, a police officer from the Zhonggulou local police station of Wanzhou District, Ran Guangrong (female), Bajiaojing Community's Party secretary, and Xiang (male, first name unknown), a Public Security Committee member.

Practitioner Ms. Qiu Xiangzhen from Zhoujiaba Community is 54 years old. On June 13, 2008, she was illegally arrested by police officers from the Xiongjia local police station in the Wanzhou District. She is currently detained in the Zhoujiaba Detention Center.

On June 15, 2008, the Olympic Torch Relay arrived in Wanzhou District, Chongqing City. In preparation for this event, the Wanzhou District Police Department set up exhibition boards and posted propaganda materials wantonly slandering Falun Gong. Their purpose was to confuse and deceive the people. Meanwhile, the Wanzhou District Chinese Communist Party officials and police officers harassed, monitored, and arrested practitioners unceasingly.
