Despite a drizzle, Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the exercises and distributed truth-clarification fliers. The Divine Land Marching Band performed music and dancers performed Chinese traditional dances.

The event attracted many locals and tourists alike to celebrate the special day with Falun Dafa practitioners. Some practitioners taught people how to make paper lotus flowers. Each flower passes out a message of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance", and they were quite popular. Many people also expressed their interest in learning the exercises.

The event was organized by Mr. Steve Milne, who said the event was meant to display the beauty of Falun Dafa to people. He believed that many people have learned from the media that the CCP has persecuted Falun Gong for 9 years, but some of them may not know what Falun Dafa is and how it benefits society and people's health. Falun Gong practitioners are clarifying the truth because they are persecuted, but Falun Gong is not just here to expose the CCP's evil nature. Falun Gong practitioners follow the principles of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance", and practice cultivation. By living by those principles and practicing the five sets of exercises, practitioners can have healthy bodies and minds, and attain higher levels of morality. He said the Falun Gong practitioners want to help the local residents and the world see the beauty of Falun Dafa through the event.
