Additional Persecution News from China - April 22, 2008 (20 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of
persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this
report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention
and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested. Around 3:00 p.m. on April 19, Ms. Jiao Lianfang (63 years old), Ms. Ma
Changyue (58 years old), Ms. Liu (72 years old), and another practitioner (70
years old), all living in Ganghua Area, Dadong District, Shenyang City, were
arrested by police from Xiaodong Police Station while they were clarifying
the truth about Falun Gong. Beginning February 25, 2008, the Police Department of Liaoning Province and
Security Bureau of Jinzhou City commanded police officers from their subordinate
police stations and 610 Office branches to arrest about 40 Falun
Gong practitioners, ransack their homes and take away their belongings. Several
of the practitioners were sent to Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp or Masanjia
Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City. Mr. Xiang Ying, Mr. Wang Guiling, Mr. Yin
Zhiyou, Mr. Miao Jianguo, Mr. Cui Yaning, and Mr. Feng Guosong, currently jailed
in Jinzhou City 1st and 2nd Detention Centers, are facing

283162886-13904165110 [Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Yan Ping Arrested
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yan Ping was arrested while clarifying the truth
for Falun Gong, and was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp (from
2004 to 2007). After being released, she was again arrested in 2007. At about 4:00 p.m. on April 19, five Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Jin Yulan,
Ms. Zhao Yumin, Ms. Zhao Jingmin, Ms. Yu Ping, and Yu Ping's mother, from
Chaoyang District, Beijing City, were arrested by police from the
Yangzhaguanzhuang Police Station. Their homes were ransacked. Currently, the
practitioners are detained at Qiliqu Police Station in Dongcheng District. In the afternoon of April 19, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yuekun was
arrested while clarifying the truth with another practitioner. Currently, she is
illegally detained in Gaocheng City Detention Center and no visitors are
allowed. At about 6:00 a.m. on March 4, 2008, five policemen from Zhongshan District
Court of Dalian City took Wang Chunyan out of a detention center. Because she
refused to wear the prisoners' jacket (prison uniform), the policemen handcuffed
her hands behind her back and forced her to wear it. Her wrists were bleeding as
a result of this round of abuse. Wang Chunyan was illegally sentenced to five years in prison. People's Court of Zhongshan District, Dalian City: 86-411-82802280 Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Luo Wei, 59 years old, is a retiree from 3540
Plant. Around 11:00 a.m. on April 17, she was arrested by policemen led by Lu
Ping. Her home was also ransacked. On April 20, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Minfang was reported and arrested
while clarifying the truth of Falun Gong. Currently, she is detained at the
Jian'an Road Police Station. On September 29, 2007, Ms. Guo Lan'e was arrested from home by police from
Yaoqiao Police Station in the Jinshui District, Zhengzhou City. After being
detained in a detention center for half a year, Ms. Guo was secretly sentenced.
Currently, her whereabouts are unknown. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Tao Jiaping and Liu
Yuhong Detained
Around April 8, policemen from Cangbu Police Station of Xinzhou District,
Wuhan City illegally broke into the store of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Tao
Jiaping. They took away a computer and arrested Ms. Tao. Currently, Tao Jiaping
is illegally detained in Xinzhou Detention Center. At around 2:00 p.m. on April 12, the director of Cangbu Police Station,
surnamed Tao, and police officer Li Xianwen went to Falun Gong practitioner Ms.
Liu Yuhong's place of work. They arrested her and later ransacked her home.
Currently, Liu Yuhong is illegally detained in the First Women's Detention
Center of Wuhan City. [Chongqing City] Falun Gong Practitioner Tan Fenghao Arrested
Ms. Tan Fenghao is between 30 and 40 years old. Around 8:00 pm on April 16,
2008, she was reported to be clarifying the truth. Policemen from Shangqing
Temple Police Station arrested her, ransacked her home, and took away her
computer, cash and private belongings. Currently, her whereabouts is unknown.
Tan Fenghao had been illegally detained for four years previously. After a meeting entitled, "Suppress and prevent Falun Gong activities
during the Olympics," held on April 7 in Shijiazhuang City, Falun Gong
practitioners were continuously arrested or harassed. Their homes were often
ransacked. The organizations involved with this round of persecution: Police Department
of Shijiazhuang City, Dongli Police Station, Lianmeng Road Police Station,
Qingyuan Street Police Station, and some neighborhood associations in Chang'an
District. They forced Falun Gong practitioners to write "guarantee
letters," threatening that otherwise, they would send the practitioners to
brainwashing centers and "transformation" classes. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Gong Qiumin Persecuted in Heizuizi Women's
Forced Labor Camp
On December 26, 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gong Qiumin from Baishan
City was arrested. After that, she was transferred to Heizuizi Women's Forced
Labor Camp. Ms. Gong had to perform forced labor every day. She is currently
very weak. [Jilin Province] Falun Gong Practitioners in Yongji County Harassed and
Arrested in Run-up to the "Olympics"
On March 7, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Jing, a teacher in Beidahu
Town, Yongji County, and Mr. Xu Qiang were arrested. They are currently in
detention and no release date has been set. In April, officials from the District Offices of Yongji County went to many
Falun Gong practitioners' homes to harass them. On April 17 and 18, officials
from Kouqian Town, Yongjing County went to Falun Gong practitioners' homes,
requested their telephone numbers and ID card numbers, and recorded them. On April 17 and 18, officers from the police station and the 610 Office of
Jiuzhai, Mengyin County broke into Falun Gong practitioners' homes. They
arrested Mr. Ju Xinglian, Mr. Ju Dianxing, Mr. Song Zengrong from Yinjiawa
Village, and Mr. Zhang Yubao from Lianwangya Village. Ju Xinglian, Ju Dianxing and Zhang Yubao are possibly jailed in the Mengyin
County Detention Center. Song Zengrong is possibly detained in the Yinan County
