Final Show of Chinese Spectacular in Taiwan Held in Chiyi Wins Acclaim from VIPs (Photos) By Wang Qing-han (Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of March 20, 2008, the grand
opening performance at National Chung Cheng University in Chiyi by the Divine
Performing Arts (DPA) Company of New York won warm applause. Golden illumination
lit the stage. It was the final show of the company's tour of five large cities
in Taiwan. President Chen Shui-pian sent a flower basket to wish the DPA success in
their performance. Others who sent flowers or compliments wishing the DPA
success included Chang Chun-hsiung, premier of Taiwan; Wang Chin-ping, speaker
of Legislative Committee; Yao Hsi-wen, president of the Examination Committee;
Wu Tun-I, secretary-general of Nationalist Party; presidential candidates Ma
Ying-chiu and Hsiao Wan-chang; Su Chin-huang, speaker of Yunlin County Council;
Li Ming-jen, president of Chiyi University and many members of Chiyi County
Council. President Chen Shui-pian presented a flower basket, wishing

basket, wishing the DPA success in their performance A member of Legislative Committee, member of the Tainan City
Council, and head of Yuntsun County presented hanging banners with complimentary
words "Overall Acclaim" and "Highest Artistic Skill" The speaker of Chiyi County Council presented a banner with
compliments "High-level Artistic Skills"
A member of the Legislative Committee presented a banner
saying, "Sincere Congratulations." The speaker of the Yunlin County
Council presented a framed banner worded, "Wishing a Successful
Performance" The DPA's arrival in Chiyi was a hot topic among people in Chiyi. A group of
tea farmers rented a tour bus for a one-day Chiyi tour, to see the Chinese
Spectacular in the evening. A group of ladies in the "mother
classroom" bought tickets and took a one-day Chiyi tour so they could
attend the performance in the evening. On the afternoon of March 20, the audience formed a long line on the square
in front of National Chung Cheng University Concert Hall. Among them were forty
art major students from Houbi High School, led by instructor Cai Kun-chin. One
student said happily, "It is our field trip and practice session: watching
the Chinese Spectacular." Chiang Yi-hsiung, member of Legislative Committee Jao His-bo, director of Chiyi Department of Culture Jao His-bo, director of the Chiyi Department of Culture, said, "It is very difficult to present a dramatic story by artistic performance, but the performers accurately and consistently depict the story elements in their performance." Chou Hsiu-you, a member of Yunlin County Council and a person-in-charge of the dancing association, viewed the Chinese Spectacular from a professional angle. She said, "The Chinese Spectacular transcends the realm of dancing because the programs move people's hearts. The presentation is beyond ordinary arts." Li Ying-kun, director of the Lanting Calligraphy and Painting Association, said emotionally, "According to Buddhist school, now is the Dharma-ending period. In such a chaotic world, the Chinese Spectacular cleans people's minds and helps them understand that in the ancient Tang Dynasty, people's hearts were so pure that doors did not need to be locked at night." He made a point of mentioning, "Falun Dafa is good. Why is it good? It is good for people to have pure hearts, and have hope and bright futures. No matter how degraded and dark the society is, a bright future lies ahead for good people. It encourages people to have hope and regain confidence." Chen Fu-cheng, head of Minhsiung township, and spouse Wang Kun-hong, head of Chuyi township, and spouse Wang Kun-hong, head of Chuyi township, said with a thumbs-up, "This is an international-level performance company. I admire the story describing the people remaining steadfast in their belief during hardship." The Divine Performing Arts finished 22 touring performances in five cities in Taiwan, after performing for 60,000 audience members.
