Tragic Ends for Practitioners' Family Members Unable To Cope with Years of Relentless Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong not only brings injury to practitioners, but also causes unbearable pain to their families. The following describes tragedies in the families of two Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing. The practitioners' relatives committed suicide because they were unable to tolerate the persecution and its impact on their families.

1. Ms. Zhan Shuping and son arrested - Husband believed to have taken own life in despair

In February 2006, Shuangyushu Police Department in Haidian District, Beijing City, arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhan Shuping and her son, Mr. Xu Chong, who live in Zhichunli, Haidian District. The two were illegally imprisoned in a forced labor camp. The police sealed the bedrooms in their home and confiscated much of their property. A neighbor later entered their home and discovered the body of Ms. Zhan Shuping's non-practitioner husband, who had been dead for several days. It is believed that he committed suicide because he was unable to endure the evil conduct and terrifying threats of the Chinese Communist Party police.

2. Ms. Wang Shuge taken to forced labor camp - Grieving son commits suicide

In May 2006, practitioner Ms. Wang Shuge from the Chaoyang District of Beijing was arrested while distributing Falun Dafa literature. Later she was illegally sentenced to forced labor for two and a half years at the Women's Labor Camp in Beijing. According to eyewitness descriptions, Ms. Wang Shuge was regularly tortured and beaten. Her non-practitioner son who recently graduated from the university, committed suicide because he could not tolerate the stress of his mother's illegal imprisonment. Her husband, also unable to endure the pressure of the Chinese Communist Party's long term persecution, sold the house and moved away.

Ms. Wang Shuge is from Liufang Nanli Neighborhood, Chaoyang District, Beijing. She was arrested and illegally detained many times in 1999 for appealing for Falun Gong. She had been illegally arrested by Xiangheyuan local police department many times. The police repeatedly went to her home to harass her. She was frequently imprisoned during the holidays and beaten mercilessly by the prison guards. In October 2000, Ms. Wang Shuge was sentenced to one year of forced labor, which psychologically affected her son and severely aggravated her husband's health condition.

This is another example of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong.
