Police Arrest Mr. Zhao Hongxing, Whose Mother Died Shortly After Being Sent to a Retirement Home against Her Will

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhao Hongxing is a practitioner from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, and an employee of the Railway Bureau. Mr. Zhao and his mother, Ms. Zhao Guohua, lived in the Dafangli Community in the Daowai District, Harbin City. At around 11 a.m. on July 3, 2007, there was a knock at their door, and they discovered that a notice had been left for them from Dafangli Police Station, requesting Mr. Zhao to go to the police station. When Mr. Zhao called the phone number on the notice, the contact person told him to go to the station to write the three statements.

Ms. Zhao Guohua started practicing Falun Gong in 1994, and her mind and body became healthy due to the practice. After the CCP started to defame Falun Gong and to persecute practitioners on July 20, 1999, Mr. Zhao and his mother went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Later on Mr. Zhao went to Beijing by himself and was arrested. Mr. Zhao has been arrested and detained several times, and his home was repeatedly ransacked. Due to the mental anguish she suffered from these events, Ms. Zhao became paralyzed and her mind became unclear. Since his mother was unable to care for herself, Mr. Zhao took care of her.

Between July 12 and 15 of 2007, Mr. Zhao was reported to the authorities while clarifying the truth to people at the Dafangli Market. Police officers from Dafangli Police Station went to Mr. Zhao's home and arrested him. Ms. Zhao was forcibly carried from her home and sent to a retirement home.

Ms. Zhao passed away fifteen days later in the retirement home at the age of 86. Mr. Zhao's current whereabouts are unknown.
