(Clearwisdom.net) Divine Performing Arts is leading a tide, which is becoming more and more significant as the troupe stays longer in Taiwan. On April 13, 2007, the day of the last performance of the troupe in Taichung, audiences from Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Yunlin packed the Concert Hall of National Chung Hsing University, to watch the performance of Divine Performing Arts' New Year Spectacular. A record was set for any performance by a large performing arts troupe, filling the hall to capacity for three consecutive days. The last performance in Taichung concluded with warm applause and acclamation from the four thousand audience members, including those who had bought standing-room-only tickets.

Divine Performing Arts presented the pure and graceful connotations of the most righteous culture of human beings. The performance cleansed and awakened the weary hearts of more than 12,000 people and moved the audience to tears.

Liao Yi-cheng, a financial legal representative and director of the Changchun Natural Disaster Prevention Foundation, said after watching the performance on April 13, "Watching the grand performance gave me a new, life-changing inspiration." Mr. Liao said, "The troupe brings a force to inspire society and leads people in a good direction. Each performance of the evening has its unique features and inspires our subconscious, besides showing the essence of Chinese culture."

Mr. Liao said he especially liked the numbers in the second half of the performance, saying that those were exquisite. He was especially impressed with the performance called, "Reaping What is Sown." He said, "The program inspires us to think about where we are going in the boundless maze. Humans should understand our rightful place, and know where we should return. One should know the direction of their life. In daily life, one should be clear about what one is doing and what the result will be. In this way, kindness is promoted and there is improvement in society."

Mr. Liao said that the whole performance inspired him. "We not only see ourselves, but see the vast masses. When we act from our inner hearts, it is just like lighting a candle. Living in such a manner will make our future glorious."

"I did not know if I could get a ticket. But I had the wish, and the gods arranged for me to come," said Hung Hui-hsian, who drove to Taichung from Taipei just to watch the performance. He said, "The dance, 'Creation' tapped my deep memory. As soon as I entered the hall, I was moved and had tears in my eyes. The feeling in my heart cannot be described with human language. Each performance was wonderful and carried deep connotations. I finally know the purpose of coming to the human world in this life. Jiang Min's song especially touched my heart. Though I don't fully remember the lyrics, I know I have a mission to come to this world. All the performances moved me to tears. It was after midnight by the time I returned to Taipei, but I think seeing the show was well worth it."

Chen Mei-ling, Associate Professor at Daye University, said, after watching the show, that she saw the true spirit of the Chinese people. She described how she was very moved by the first performance of the show, "Creation." She said, "I am very proud to be Chinese. At my advanced age, I feel this pride for the first time."

Ms. Chen said the show promotes Chinese culture, besides a presenting a high level of artistic achievement. After seeing the show, she felt a special peace in her heart. She said, "I think it is hard to come by. Such a sense of serenity will stay in my heart for a long time."

He said, "The show is perfect! Wonderful. It demonstrates the culture of different Chinese dynasties. After the Tang Dynasty, the culture is mixed and diverse."

He said that the program in the second half was the essence of the Chinese land. "Herding on the Mongolian Plains" shows Chinese people's open and bold character. It was an exciting performance. After listening to Guan Guimin's song, 'Finding Myself,' I thought about who I am. The most precious people are right beside me and I should cherish the predestined relationship with the people around me."

"A Dunhuang Dream" is very moving

Renowned sculptor Chu Lu-ching, who sculpts statues of Buddha, Bodhisattvas, and heavenly beings, said that the performance was very good in its composition, color and choreography.

He said, "The traditional Chinese dance programs are very good." He said that the artwork in the Dunhuang caves is tops and represents the true Chinese spirit. Sculpting the statues in Dunhuang required inspiration, and it was moving to see the hints given to the pious sculptor, as shown in the dance, "A Dunhuang Dream."

Taichung County Council member Yan Ling-hsuan pays attention to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. She said that the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution is useless, and people's rights and freedom cannot be deprived.

Taichung County Council member Gao Chi-tsan said that this kind of performance can elevate people's hearts and should be promoted widely. Each performance of the evening impressed the audience. Mr. Gao pays attention to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and to the human rights situation in China. He said, "The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong shows the CCP's tyranny. The persecution exposes many insights that were not known to the outside world before. The whole world now knows the CCP's evil nature."

Taichung County Council member Hsiao Chin-yi shared his views after watching the performance for two consecutive days. "The contents of the individual numbers are excellent. The performance brings the Taiwanese audience aspects of Buddha, the humanities and the arts."

Hsiao Fu-dao, Director of the Land Redesign Engineering Bureau, said that each performance was very good and hard to express with language. He believes that it is great to present traditional Chinese culture through the medium of dance. Traditional morality, loyalty, filial piety, kindness, and love are the essence of our culture. Presenting them in the program is a difficult task.

He said, "Nowadays the degeneration of education and morality is our responsibility [to reverse]. In TV we see how to educate children and hope that society and the nation will be peaceful. It would be wonderful if we could return to Tang Dynasty culture."

Huang Chen-wen, Dean of the College of Agricultural Resources at Chung Hsing University, said after watching the performance, "The main connotation of the whole program is that human beings should return to our original place. This is a deep connotation."

Professor Huang understood the message conveyed throughout the program, that humans come to earth to cultivate, in order to return to their true selves. He also appreciated the dance, "Reaping What Is Sown," where a Falun Gong practitioner is persecuted and killed and is received in Heaven by a Bodhisattva, while the perpetrators are punished. He said that the dance clearly conveyed the truth that good is rewarded and evil meets with retribution.

Divine Performing Arts not only presents the spirit of the Chinese people throughout the different dynasties, it shows the essence of Chinese culture through the medium of dance. There is no dialog in the whole program. Through music, dance, song and the exquisite backdrop screens, the troupe brings to life the deep connotations of traditional Chinese culture. In China today and in other countries as well, such high level technique cannot be matched, especially using dance to present the teaching that good will be rewarded and evil will meet with retribution, to educate people to revive their kind nature and return to their true selves.

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 4, 2007, the Falun Dafa Association of France, the French Service Center for Quitting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), and Chinese people living in Paris held a rally in front of the Chinese Embassy in Paris to "Support 20 Million Withdrawals from the CCP." The participants protested the Chinese police's illegal abduction and detention of Falun Gong practitioner Ma Jian and urged people to be concerned about UN refugee Ma Hui and her daughter. who were illegally deported to China by Russian authorities. They also tried to raise the embassy staff's awareness that the number of Chinese withdrawing from the CCP had reached 20 million and that the staff should be clear about the situation and withdraw from the CCP to secure their own futures.

Calling for an end to the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners

Mr. Hanlong Tang, President of the Falun Dafa Association, said that the protest rally was being held in front of the Chinese Embassy because they wanted to send a two-part message to the French people and to the staff of the Embassy. First they wanted to protest the Chinese police's illegal abduction and detention of Falun Gong practitioner Ma Jian, who is General Manager of the French PCM Pump Company for China and the North Asian region.

Mr. Tang said Falun Gong practitioner Ma Jian was arrested in his office in Beijing by Chinese police on February 28, 2007. He was subjected to brainwashing for three weeks and then sent to Dongcheng Detention Center in Beijing. His family members have not been allowed to visit him. As a result, they are very worried about Ma's safety. The CCP has persecuted over 3000 Falun Gong practitioners to death since 1999 and many other practitioners have been killed for their organs.

Mr. Tang said the second part of the message was that over 20 million Chinese have already withdrawn from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They hoped the embassy staff would quit the CCP to secure their lives, understand the situation, and not follow the CCP on its road to destruction. In many countries, including France, the CCP has sent out many secret agents, and they work together with the embassy to instigate hatred toward Falun Gong.

Mr. Tang said that the CCP has deployed its gangster methods worldwide to persecute dissidents and Falun Gong practitioners. One of the most obvious cases of this took place in Russia, where UN refugee Ma Hui and her daughter were forcibly deported back to China and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Mr. Hu from the French Service Center for Quitting the CCP called out to the diplomats and staff of the Embassy in his speech. He said, "In the face of the huge trend to condemn and quit the CCP, do not hesitate to secure your lives. See clearly that the CCP is the source of all evil and withdraw for your life and future."

He said, "20 million is a considerable number. The CCP does not represent China. The CCP is not a Chinese tradition. It is an alien force and the biggest specter on this planet. In order to secure your safety, life, and happiness, hurry and withdraw from the CCP. The red wall of the CCP is crumbling and the spirit of the CCP is being destroyed. Do not become the victims of the CCP's destruction. We hope you can see the situation clearly and condemn this evil organization."

Alex from the French Falun Dafa Association talked about the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP since 1999. The CCP has made use of its army, police, hospitals and forced labor camps to harvest Falun Gong practitioners' organs for sale. He urged people to rescue Ma Jian and Ma Hui.

During the rally, participants used an amplifier to broadcast their warning in Chinese and French to the embassy staff. They said doomsday for the CCP was fast approaching: "Stop following the CCP to persecute Falun Gong, do not become the victims of the CCP's destruction, think about your own future and join others in quitting the CCP."

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 6, 2007, the second day of the Chinese Qinming Festival, many groups and organizations, such as the UK Falun Dafa Association, the UK Great Alliance of Breaking Away from the CCP, the UK Branch of the Global Service Centre for Quitting the CCP, the European Branch of the International Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, and the UK Epoch Times, held a grand rally and a parade in London to support the 20 million brave Chinese people that have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations and to recognize the Falun Gong practitioners in China who have been persecuted to death by the CCP as well as the 80 million Chinese who have been killed since the CCP gained power.

The rally started at 1:00 p.m. in front the Chinese Embassy in London. Banners, scrolls, and exhibition boards, big and small, were displayed, forming a unique, picturesque scene opposite the Chinese Embassy. They passed along very clear messages: "Express strong support for the 20 million people that have quit the CCP." "Redress the injustice of the deaths of 80 million people who have been killed by CCP tyranny," "New China will be born when the CCP collapses," "Gods will destroy the CCP, you can keep your life safe when you quit the CCP," "The evil CCP has been uprooted, please quit it quickly!" and "Ushering in a new China without the CCP." Passers-by all stopped and looked. Vehicles coming and going supported them by honking their horns. A guide on a tour bus even accepted a leaflet and read it through the microphone to all the tourists on the bus.

Lord Francis Thurlow, a former UK diplomat who has a long record of diplomatic service, made a speech at the rally condemning the CCP tyranny. "The CCP has caused the deaths of over 80 million Chinese people, and the documented deaths of more than 3000 Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP's atrocity of organs harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners has made everyone indignant."

John Dee, Vice Chairman of the European Branch of the International Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, mentioned in his speech, "Today, we are here to support 20 million Chinese people quitting the CCP. They are the awakened Chinese people, the brave ones. From the day the CCP was founded to now, history has clearly exposed to the world's people its evil and cruel nature. The CCP is doomed to be ruined." Mr. Dee also called on Chinese people to offer evidence of Falun Gong practitioners in China being persecuted to the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG). The CIPFG has already received first-hand data of many cases of the persecution. We must try to make the CCP stop the persecution and allow Falun Gong practitioners and all Chinese people be free.

Dr. Liu Wei, editor-in-chief of the UK Epoch Times, pointed out at the rally, "Over 20 million Chinese people have already quit the CCP. The number "20 million" is perhaps not the most important. Most important is that the CCP has completely lost its morale, which is what the CCP fears most."

Ms. Annie Yang, using her personal experience of being persecuted in Mainland China, condemned the CCP's long period of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Because of practicing Falun Gong, Ms. ang was illegally arrested in Beijing on March 1, 2005. She was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp without going through any legal formalities.

After the rally, the parade started from the Chinese Embassy and went along Regents Street, the busiest one in London's city center, crossing London's famous Chinatown three times. The parade lasted three and a half hours. On this day in London, the sun was shining. The city center was full of tourists and traffic was heavy. Wherever the parade went, people all stopped and looked. Several thousands pieces of literature, both in Chinese and English, were distributed very quickly. At the parade's final destination, several Chinese tourists took group photos before the scroll proclaiming, "Gods will destroy the CCP. You can keep your life safe when you quit it."

(Clearwisdom.net) To support 20 million brave Chinese people having withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the Yilan Branch of the Global Alliance for Breaking Away from the CCP organized a car parade on April 6, 2007, calling for people to be aware of the trend to quit to the CCP in Mainland China and realize that the Party is collapsing. At the plaza in front of the Cultural Center, a few dozen pictures were on display to expose the CCP's crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. Many people looked at the display.

At nine o'clock, the Yilan Branch of the Global Alliance for Breaking Away from the CCP hosted a press conference inside the Yilan City Cultural Center. Director of the branch Mr. Lin Chongqi said that the book "Nine Commentaries on Communist Party" published by The Epoch Times in November 2004 exposed the CCP's lies and evil nature. More and more people have recognized the CCP for what it is and have decided to withdraw from it. The trend to quit is spreading in Mainland China quickly. Now more than 30,000 are resigning from the CCP and all its affiliated organizations every day. He said that, with more than 20 million people having chosen to quit the CCP, the evil spirit has been pulled out by its roots. Lin said, "The purpose of this activity is to remind people that all brutal tyrannies in the history of the world were eventually destroyed. Heaven wants to destroy the Chinese Communist Party. Breaking away from the CCP can keep you safe."

Mr. Zeng Wenzhong, a teacher from Luodong Industrial High School, was dressed like a heavenly warrior with a Nine Commentaries sword in his hand. He said, "Because of the widespread dissemination of the book, both the human world and the heavens have been shaken by its power. With help from righteous gods, the Communist evil spirit will be defeated by heavenly warriors. "Over 20 million people having withdrawn from the CCP makes this a memorable day in history. I feel honored to participate in this activity to tell people that the CCP is collapsing. Please make a right choice between good and evil."

A truth-clarification picture display in front of the Cultural Center attracted many passersby. A retired teacher from Yilan University, Mr. Su, looked at the pictures and said that the Communist Party doesn't respect anyone's human rights and wished it to be eliminated soon so that the Chinese people could regain their freedom.

(Clearwisdom.net) Seven years is a short time for a happy person, but it is a very long time for a person experiencing anguish and tribulations. The past is almost too painful to recall, yet it is so vivid, as if it just took place yesterday.

Back in June of 1999, the local police and spies harassed me constantly. As a result, I could not study the Falun Dafa books or do the Falun Dafa exercises without interruption, so I decided to go to Beijing to appeal for justice.

It was early when I arrived in Beijing, so I rested in Zhongshan Park. Soon, a few armed police officers walked over to me and pushed me into a van. They drove me to the Beijing Armed Police General Headquarters. They put me in a room where many other Dafa practitioners were held. They laid some rope on the floor next to us and forbade us from stepping outside the rope. If we did not obey them, they would attack us physically and verbally.

The police called us over one by one and registered us. They took us to a stadium in a bus. When I got off the bus I saw two rows of people--police and reporters. We walked between the two groups of people as flashbulbs went off all around us. As we entered the stadium, the police told us to sit on the ground. Fully armed police officers guarded the stairways. Officers from regional liaison offices in Beijing picked us up at 7:00 p.m. and sent us overnight back to the corresponding local cities.

I went to Beijing for the second time in September 1999. Officers from the Fuyou Street Police Station arrested me and held me for three days before sending me to the Changping Custody Center. Upon arriving at the custody center, the guards forcibly body-searched me.

When they found money on people, they would force people to make purchases at the center. I found out later that the Communist Party feared public discontent toward its countless atrocities as it was approaching October 1st. Each year prior to this day the Party would evict out-of-towners from Beijing and send them back to their local cities. Each police officer is issued a quota of 50 arrests a day. If he falls short of the quota, his year-end bonus is reduced. The police went to extreme means to arrest people in a desperate attempt to keep their bonuses. One woman in her 40s told me, "I sell breakfast food at a stall in Beijing. The police knocked over my stand and arrested my husband and me." Another woman said, "I was selling vegetables in the market when the police arrested me." Other detainees included people who came to Beijing hospitals for medical treatment and people who had traveled to Beijing to get married.

The police ordered inmates to monitor the detainees, who were forced to squat in the courtyard during the day. The inmates would beat whoever moved and refused to follow orders. In the evening, the police packed buses full of detainees like sardines in a can and sent them back. The Communist police are vicious toward common citizens and even crueler toward Dafa practitioners who refuse to tell their names [Note: Because of the Chinese Communist Party's practice of implicating and harassing family members and work units of Falun Gong practitioners, practitioners often refuse to give their names when they are arrested, in order to protect their families and associates]. They used corporal punishment such as beatings, electric shock and also sleep deprivation on these practitioners. Three days later I was sent back to my city where I was detained for another 15 days.

I went back to Beijing in October 1999 and was taken to the Xicheng Detention Center in Beijing. On arrival I had to immediately remove all clothing. They thoroughly searched me and cut all metal adornments on my clothes. They also took away my belt, and I had to hold my pants up. They searched me again before sending me to my cell.

The head of the cell coerced me to recite detention center policies. He wouldn't let me sleep unless I could memorize the policies. Once, when I was taken out to be fingerprinted a male guard told us to squat, holding our head between our arms. I said something to another practitioner, and the guard beat me savagely. One practitioner in his 50s asked for permission to do the Dafa exercises. Zhou, a female guard said, "If you hit your head against the metal gate and survive, I'll let you do your exercises."

Eleven of our Dafa practitioners refused to do slave labor. We recited the Fa and did the Dafa exercises together. The detention center head told us to go to the courtyard and said we could do the Dafa exercises there. It was cold that November. We did not have warm clothing and wore simple plastic-soled shoes. Soon, the detention center head brought a pile of handcuffs and handcuffed us, one by one. First, he handcuffed us in front; then he handcuffed our hands behind us. After 30 minutes he saw we were not going to beg him, so he handcuffed in a crueler way: one arm pulled over the shoulder to the other arm that was pulled up from behind.

The guards handcuffed us for four hours. When the handcuffs came off, our hands looked like they didn't have a drop of blood in them. My right thumb was numb for six months. The detention center officials also force-fed Dafa practitioners who went on protest hunger strikes. They beat practitioners who petitioned to study the Fa and do the exercises. They also used other corporal punishment and sleep deprivation and torture tools on us.

I was taken back to Tieling on November 13, 1999 and held at the Tieling Detention Center where I was forbidden to study the Fa or do the exercises. Practitioners who tried to do the Dafa exercises were tortured. One evening, practitioner Zhang Yan and I were assigned to be on night shift duty. Zhang Yan did the first four sets of Dafa exercises on the floor, and I did the meditation exercise in bed. Soon, cell head Yue came. She grabbed Zhang Yan's head and rammed it into a wall with brutal force. She also hit Zhang Yan until she was severely bruised and disoriented. Cell head Yue then walked over to beat me. She kicked me to the floor and slapped my temples with the soles of hard plastic slippers until I almost lost consciousness. She did not stop until she ran out of strength.

Then one of the division heads named Liu Zhongchen came to our cell and forced six Dafa practitioners including myself to kneel in front of a wall before he whipped us with a belt. He also shocked the arch of my feet with electric batons. He did not spare an older practitioner in his late 50s. He also immobilized Zhang Yan in place with a torture tool. This tool looks like this: One end is a thick iron ring that was placed around Zhang Yan's neck, and the other end was a metal chain fixed to the rings of a bed. Zhang Yan could not raise her head when wearing this torture tool and had to lie down all the time.

In early December 1999, I received a notice saying that I was sentenced to one year of forced labor. I was taken to the Tieling Forced Labor Camp along with two other practitioners. We were body-searched right away. The guards took Master's articles from me. They cut my hair short, flush with my ears. They used vicious means, including freezing, electric shock, sleep deprivation and other tactics to persecute Dafa practitioners who persisted in doing the Dafa exercises.

I was transferred to the Liaoyang Forced Labor Camp on January 30, 2000. The officials there not only body-searched me, they also pulled out the stuffing from my quilt and from my pillow. They took my Dafa books. Deputy division head Yin slapped my face over and over because I had not handed the books in myself.

Endless work ensued. The Party used us as machines and forced us to work 12 hours a day. We were forbidden to sleep if we did not meet our quota. Even on holidays we were not allowed to sleep until after midnight, as a means to keep us from doing the Dafa exercises. We were often taken out to do manual labor such as digging holes to plant trees, level the ground and dismantle cement bags. We were forbidden to sleep after returning from this heavy manual labor and instead had to continue to do handiwork until past midnight. There was no exception for those who were sick.

Once, when the officials played a Dafa-slandering video, I refused to watch it. Guard Huo Yan called me out and beat me before locking me in solitary confinement. They forced me to sit completely motionless, with my arms wrapped around my knees. It was summer, and the pressure on my buttocks resulted in open sores. Soon, pus and blood glued my underwear to my buttocks. I had to peel the scab away each time before I could go to the restroom. They also never gave me enough food -- only a small corn pancake and a bite of corn porridge. Furthermore, they played Dafa-slandering audiotapes on a daily basis.

I was sent to Group 3 at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp again on October 19, 2000. Guard Wang Xiaofeng sent several collaborators to "reform" me. They bombarded me with twisted Dafa-slandering theories. Several days later, when they saw that I did not "reform", they stripped away their mask of feigned kindness and forced me to squat, do handstands and did not let me sleep. Wang Xiaofeng told the collaborators to beat me. They stood in a circle, with me in the middle, and attacked me in the style of the "Cultural Revolution (1966-1976)." They verbally assaulted me, shoved me around and grew increasingly violent. Collaborators Wang Xiuzhi and Wang Xiaofeng vehemently hit my head and face with books, splitting my lips and making my head swell. I had several bumps on my head.

The guards often took Dafa practitioners to deserted classrooms and isolated places to beat them. They took practitioner Sun Juan to a hotel, kicked her to the ground, straddled her, grabbed her head and rammed it into the floor. They beat practitioner Wang Jianhua so severely she had to receive IV infusions for one week. When she returned, her face was still swollen, and the corners of her eyes were black and blue. Practitioner Wang Jinlan was in her 50s, but the officials often punished her physically and did not let her sleep. The guards also often played Dafa-slandering videos and forced us to watch them.

I finally went home on October 19, 2001.

I was reported in January 2002 while distributing truth-clarification materials and was taken to the Political and Security Section at Tieling County Police Department. One older man who looked like an owl called over a few young police officers and told them to interrogate me. I refused to cooperate with them, and the man slapped my face. I shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" He told two tall, brawny men to beat and kick me. I was not afraid and continued to shout, "Falun Dafa is good!" They could not figure out what to do with me, so they sent me to the Political and Security Section at the Yinzhou District Police Department.

I still refused to cooperate with the officials. Officers Liu Daiying and Yang Dongsheng handcuffed me next to a wall, wrapped my head in a plastic bag and hit me with books. But, I never followed any of their commands, so they sent me to the Tieling City Detention Center. One evening when I was doing the Falun Gong exercises the guard on duty saw me and came over to beat me. He also tried to immobilize me with chains. Two other practitioners and I together resisted the persecution and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" The guard was frightened and ran away. We went on a hunger strike the next day to protest the abuse, and they brutally force-fed us and immobilized us with chains.

They sentenced me to three years of forced labor in March 2002 and took me back to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. I was held at Group 1, Division 1, headed by Wang Xiaofeng, who was promoted to division head for his efforts in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

They immediately found two collaborators and tried to "reform" me. I turned them away without hesitation. They all knew me from the previous detentions, so they no longer tried to "reform" me.

One morning when I was doing the Dafa exercises in my cell an inmate saw me. He called on several collaborators who dragged me outside. I shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" They dragged me into the office and threw me on the floor. One collaborator took off his socks and tried to put them in my mouth. I closed my mouth. He pinched my nose so I could not breathe. Soon, Wang Xiaofeng came and he told the inmate to send me to solitary confinement cell. A long, narrow and hard bench was the only thing inside that cell. They handcuffed my hands to each end of the bench and forced me to sit on the bench. I was incarcerated in the solitary confinement cell this way for 25 days.

On the morning of April 8, 2002 I delivered Master's articles to fellow practitioners. Inmate Gong Xiling reported me to guard Xue Feng. I was taken to the ground floor where Dafa practitioners are tortured. I was handcuffed to a heating pipe for three days and I had to stand the whole time.

They also posted banners with slanderous words attacking Master and Dafa. Several Dafa practitioners including myself shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" Collaborators Li Qing and Duan tied silk strips over our mouths, wrapped our heads in quilts reeking of urine, and sealed everything in place with tape.

We were later locked up in solitary confinement cells. By this time, the long narrow bench had been replaced with a large metal chair especially designed to torture Dafa practitioners. The metal chair has many semicircular bars welded onto it that holds the arms and legs of the victim in place so he cannot move at all. The officials let the practitioner in the chair use the restroom twice a day. At other times the practitioner has no choice but to relieve himself in his pants.

Seven days later Wang Xiaofeng took me back to the ground floor. He told Li Qing and Duan to tie my hands behind my back to a bed pole because I did the Dafa exercises. They made me sit on a small plastic stool. From that day on, for more than two years, I never slept in a bed again. Due to sitting in a crooked posture for a long time, my limbs swelled and hurt terribly whenever I made a slight movement.

Practitioner Zhang Yunxia was in her 60s but the officials abused her all the same. Practitioner Su Yiwen had heart disease, high blood pressure and a bloated stomach, but the officials still tortured her. Practitioner Zhang Chunmei was also handcuffed to a heating pipe and forced to sit the same way I was. Her hands swelled like balloons, and they turned black. Even her face swelled. Practitioner Sun Jinjun was force-fed. The officials pried her mouth open with a spoon until her teeth came loose. They inserted a wooden stick into her mouth and poured corn porridge down her throat.

In July 2002, the guards persecuted Dafa practitioners who refused to wear a prisoner's uniform. Group 3 heads Wang Xiaofeng and Huang Haiyan led six collaborators and pinned Zhang Yunxia to the floor with her face down, removed her clothes and put the prisoner's uniform on her. Then they handcuffed her hands to each end of the long bench and did not let her go to the restroom.

A meeting was held for everyone at the Masanjia Forced Labor camp on August 22, 2002, during which the officials illegally issued an arrest warrant for Dafa practitioners Li Liming, Li Dongqing and Song Caihong. They tried to intimidate determined Dafa practitioners this way. Many guards came. They surrounded the conference room. I refused to go to the meeting. They dragged me there. In order to prevent me from shouting, "Falun Dafa is good" they gagged me and taped my mouth. Dafa practitioners constantly stepped forward during the meeting to validate Dafa. The guards were vicious-- they kicked these practitioners to the ground and beat them. They dragged the practitioners inside the building and handcuffed their hands behind their back to a heating pipe. They gagged the practitioners with cleaning rags and taped their mouths shut.

After the meeting they sent me to a solitary confinement cell yet again. There were nine solitary confinement cells. All of them were filled with Dafa practitioners who had stepped forward during the meeting, whom the persecutors thought "displayed the worst behavior." There were camera monitors and also loudspeakers in the cell. The radio blasted fabrications slandering Master and Dafa, day and night, at the highest volume without a break. It was deafening. They reduced the number of daily restroom visits allowed Dafa practitioners from three to two and forbade us to wash ourselves. This solitary confinement lasted 30 days. My feet swelled so badly, the skin was about to burst. The blood vessels on my feet were bright red and hurt very badly when my feet touched the ground. My calves were red, hot and swollen. My hands and arms also swelled like balloons.

Guard Xue Feng took me back to Group 1 on September 18, 2002. They were watching a documentary and ordered us to discuss the video afterwards. Collaborator Ge Yunling said bad things about Falun Gong and accused Falun Gong of getting involved in politics. I clarified the truth to her. She refused to listen and cursed Dafa. I shouted the Fa rectification verse, and a group of officials came over. They struck me to the ground, held me and tied my hands behind my back. They put a filthy towel in my mouth and tied it with a strip of cloth. Wang Xiaofeng and a female guard named Xiang videotaped me and told the others to take me to the ground floor. In the evening, deputy Division Head Wang Shuzheng took me to the office and tried to make me stand the whole night but did not succeed, so she handcuffed me to a heating pipe, very close to the ground. I had to sit on the icy ceramic tile floor.

Another round of persecution, the "Battle to Take the Fort", began at Masanjia in early December 2002. The guards were not permitted to go home during that time and had to eat and sleep at the labor camp.

Wang Xiaofeng called me over on December 9, 2002 and threatened me. He said, "You cannot practice Falun Gong anymore; if you do, I'll teach you a good lesson!" I refused to comply, and he told me to go to the ground floor and handcuffed me to a heating pipe. He gagged me with a cleaning rag and taped my mouth shut. Then he proceeded to shock me with high-voltage electric batons. Soon my hands bled while he kept accusing me of making trouble. My blood stuck to the electric baton. He removed the tape from my mouth and began shocking my mouth. My lips doubled in size, and I could barely open my mouth.

He shocked the soles of my feet, but I did not fall down. He said to Xue Feng, "Before When I shocked people's feet before they would fall down instantly; what's wrong today? The battery must be running low." Xue Feng found two more electric batons and tried them on me, but they still did not work and had even less electric power than the first one, so he put the two electric batons away. He took out a notebook and tried to take notes, to prepare for further persecution. I refused to cooperate with him. He sent me to solitary confinement cell. It was very cold that winter, and they did not let Dafa practitioners wear heavy coats. They opened all of the doors and windows to freeze us. Our food was a small piece of hard cornbread and several pieces of salted vegetable for each meal. They did not give us water. They ceaselessly played audiotapes slandering Master and Dafa.

Wang Xiaofeng and Xue Feng took me back to the regular cell after 22 days. The next day was Chinese New Year's Day. The guards were on vacation, so they let me out of the solitary confinement cell. I was somewhat mentally traumatized from the torture. In addition, my weight had dropped to 88 lbs. I could not hold onto anything because my hands were black and the size of grapefruits, and they were covered in frostbite. My feet were so swollen that I had to wear extra large slippers. My ankles also swelled, became ulcerated and seeped pus. Scars remain on my feet even now. My knees hurt as if they were stabbed with knives whenever I moved. I could neither squat nor stand when I went to the restroom and also sweated profusely from pain. Despite my condition, Wang Xiaofeng did not let me sleep in a bed and continued to make me sit on a small stool with my hands tied behind my back.

They were not lenient toward other practitioners, either. They tortured them with freezing, hanging-up, electric shock, sleep deprivation, and other corporal punishment. They forced practitioners to sit in the full lotus position (both legs crossed, one on top of the other) for long periods of time, to savagely persecute them. They took practitioner Huang Shufen from Group 2, Division 1 to the triangular storage room, where they handcuffed her arms behind her back, put a rope through the handcuffs and hung her by her hands from a metal structure on the ceiling. They pulled the rope up and down with Huang Shufen tied to the other end hanging in the air. They did this repeatedly until both of her shoulders were dislocated and her right wrist bone was completely shattered. They put a plaster cast on her before her bones were correctly set. As a result she could not use her right hand for more than one year.

The officials hung practitioner Zhang Haiyan from Group 5, Division 1 from a heating pipe with her feet barely touching the ground. They hung her for three days, during which they bombarded her with audiotapes slandering Master and Dafa. She could not endure the torture any longer, but she also did not want to betray her conscience, her Master and Dafa in exchange for temporary relief. Nevertheless, during a restroom visit, in desperation, she threw herself against a heating pipe, and blood gushed out from her head. She was taken to the nurse's office and given simple treatment before they quickly hung her up again. The next day she threw herself against the heating pipe again. This time she suffered a mental collapse and could not speak. Her head now has a 4 cm [1.6 inches] long scar.

The officials also took Falun Gong practitioners to the triangular storage room and handcuffed them to a heating pipe. They shocked the practitioners' chest, armpits, inner thighs, neck, hands, feet and other sensitive body parts until the practitioners give in. They also threaten the practitioners and tell them not to expose the atrocities.

Practitioner Su Yiwen had a heart attack in April 2003 and remained in bed, feeling awful. One day Wang Xiaofeng and Su Hong, heads of Group 4, and Sun, the group head on duty, tried to handcuff Su Yiwen and immobilize her with metal chains. Su Yiwen firmly refused to cooperate with them. I supported her and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" They sent both of us to solitary confinement and held us there for 20 days.

Masanjia Forced Labor Camp officials issued an arrest warrant for me on June 28, 2004 and sent me to Shenyang City Detention Center. The deputy division head there, Xu Yan, was vicious. She brutally force-fed Dafa practitioners on hunger strike. She poured a huge quantity of salt into the corn porridge fed to the practitioners. Guard Duan Guoyun told the inmates to beat me. They yanked out lots of my hair, which was all over the floor.

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Sun Chongzhen. I am a 41-year-old woman. While I was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at Liang Dian in Junan County, Shandong Province on July 11, 2003, I was reported and arrested. I was sent to Jinan City Women's Forced Labor Camp by a 610 Office agent in Junan County on August 1, 2003. Since then I have suffered three years of persecution at the labor camp.

Right after the officers arrested me, while in the vehicle, they started kicking and hitting me. During the ensuing interrogation, I refused to cooperate and did not tell them my name and address [Note: Because of the Chinese Communist Party's practice of implicating and harassing family members and work units of Falun Gong practitioners, practitioners often refuse to give their names when they are arrested, in order to protect their families and associates]. They brutally kicked me and hit me again and forbade me to use the bathroom. They sent me to the Junan Detention Center and stripped me for a body search.

On July 13, 2003, I was handcuffed and tied to a metal chair by agents from the 610 Office. As I refused to cooperate with them, they brutally kicked my legs and tried to force me to tell my name. I was tortured for three days. They tried to force me to provide my fingerprints, and photographed me. When I did not cooperate, they had criminal inmates hold my arms and kick me.

Finally, a guard from the village where my mother lives reported my name and I was sent to the Jinan City Women's Forced Labor Camp on August 1, 2003. The Dadian Town head and agents from the 610 Office said, "You always say Falun Gong is good and tell how you benefited from it. Now it's your chance to really taste the benefits of practicing Falun Gong."

The police bribed the labor camp to finish all the paperwork. They then attempted to force me to sign the documents and fingerprint them. I did not cooperate. Without any formal paperwork issued, I was sent into a demon's den. The guards locked me in a small cell every day and forbade me to meet anyone. They forced me to watch TV programs slandering Dafa. They found some former practitioners who had gone against Dafa to tell me lies. Guards including Wang Shuzhen wrote a guarantee statement and attempted to force me to sign and fingerprint it. I didn't follow their orders. A group of guards then held me down. Some of them pulled my hands to put my fingerprint on the statement. After that, they forced me to do work for at least 12 hours per day. Sometimes, they made me work overtime, until 1:00 or 2:00 a.m.

On December 23, 2004, I refused to follow the order to do prison exercises. Guard Sun Juan made a phone call to Division Head Liu Yuqin. Four guards, including Deputy Division Head Sun Qunli tortured me in the file room. I clarified the truth to them. Liu Yuqin slammed my head into a wall and I lost consciousness. They then handcuffed me to a heating pipe with one hand up and one hand down. When I came to, Sun Qunli said that I was faking it.

I was handcuffed for six days and was forbidden to wash myself or wear warm clothes. When I finally got a jacket, the guards would not unlock my handcuffs; therefore, I could only put on one sleeve. When eating and drinking, I could only use one hand. I asked for a pair of pants, but because I was handcuffed so low, I couldn't pull the pants up. The pants only sat on my hips. When it was cold my hands hurt and when they turned on the heat my hands were burning.

The guards slandered Master, Dafa and me every day. These evildoers persecuted me in this way for countless days.

During the night of April 22, 2005, when the guards returned to the dorm from a meeting, practitioner Du Yifeng would not cooperate with the guards by saying "Present." Guards Sun Juan and Xiao Ying pulled Du Yifeng to a solitary confinement cell. Du Yifeng shouted. The guards then forced everyone to sit.

I was worried about Du Yifeng and didn't follow the guards' orders. Guards Geng Xiaomei, Sun Juan and Xiao Ying forced me to say practitioner Du was wrong for not saying "Present." If I didn't comply, they would send me to a solitary confinement cell and would prevent me from using the bathroom. I didn't listen to them so they decided to pull me into a solitary confinement cell. I held onto a bed and they couldn't pull me away. They called Division Head Liu Yuqin and Tian E from the Management Division and two male guards. The seven guards then handcuffed me to a heating pipe in the television room, with one hand as high as possible and the other hand as low as possible.

After being handcuffed for two days, I was experiencing additional tribulations and had diarrhea. I asked to use the bathroom. I asked every time the guards came by. Li Yu tried to take advantage of my request to force me to cooperate with them. They didn't let me go to the bathroom until 8:00 a.m. the next morning. Liu Yuqin didn't leave me alone after she had unlocked my handcuffs. She wanted to see if I truly had diarrhea. After I returned [from the toilet] they handcuffed me to the stairs for one day.

After four or five days, Du Yifeng's and my feet were swollen and red. We couldn't put our shoes on any more. Liu Yuqin forced Du Yifeng to read materials slandering Dafa but Ms. Du tore them up. Liu Yuqing then locked Du Yifeng in a bathroom and sent me to a solitary confinement cell. This time, another practitioner named Deng Liangcun was also locked up and persecuted in a solitary confinement cell for several days.

On June 8, guard Geng Xiaomei made practitioner Chen Yuhua and me pack, and go to the Fifth Division (the Strict Discipline Team). Guard Wang Shuzhen ordered us to say "Present." I didn't say it. The guards searched our things and threw clothes, napkins and papers all over the floor. Guard Liu Xia held onto my clothes to search for Master's lectures and then confiscated all of my daily necessities.

There were eight practitioners in Group Three [in the Fifth Division]. None of us cooperated with the guards. Sixty-year-old practitioner Liu Xiaorong shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" She was dragged into a solitary confinement cell and locked in there for three days before she was transferred to Group Eight.

This time, criminal inmates were watching us. We were forbidden to open windows or doors or turn on fans. We were forbidden to use the public bathrooms. We were further forbidden to meet with anyone and were only permitted to wash our clothes once a month. We had to pre-wash the clothes in our cell and others rinsed them outside for us. Between June 8 and August 3, 2005, I only washed my hair once.

We were fortunate to have Master's protection during this evil persecution and did not face any danger. We resisted the persecution and refused to wear the prison uniform. Guard Wang Shuzhen incited the inmates to remove practitioners' clothes. Practitioner Liu Jingmei threw the uniform in water. Guard Wang Shuzhen took it out and urged the inmates to put it on Liu Jingmei. We went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Four days later, the guards dragged me into the hallway. I shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" They couldn't stop me by gagging me with towels, so they put their hands in my mouth and scratched me. My mouth was bloody. They held onto my feet and dragged me to the prison doctor's office, to force-feed me. They tied my hands and feet to a bed. I suffered so much during the brutal forced-feeding that I vomited and made a mess on myself. Guard Wang Shuzhen pushed against my abdomen with her legs, and with one hand pulled my hair and with the other pressed down on my jaw. Deputy Division Head Wand Yuerao stepped on my genitals. The pain almost made me lose consciousness.

My stomach hurt after the force-feeding, and I began to vomit again. The guards gagged me with towels, almost suffocating me. They pulled my hair out and much of it was all over the floor. For the third time, Wang Shuzhen tied me to the bed and pulled my hair toward the headboard and pushed my head down. She force-fed me half a bowl of powdered milk along with two spoonfuls of salt. She left the feeding tube in. The guards kept me tied up for a total of 28 days. Out of the 28 days, I was tied up day and night for 11 days and I was only permitted to remain in one position to sleep.

Another time guard Wang Yuerao purposely gave me a hard time. I refused to cooperate. She then forbade the inmates who were responsible for watching me to sleep, along with me. The inmates were trying hard to reduce their sentences. They tortured me brutally. It was another sleepless night. Early the next day, guard Wang Shuzhen ordered me to carry a sewing machine. I didn't follow her order so she cursed at me again.

On October 21, 2005, the guards transferred me to Group Six and tortured me ruthlessly. Practitioner Chen Yuhua and I were locked in the same northern cell. Chen Yuhua went on a hunger strike. After four days she became very weak and was dragged out to be force-fed. I never saw her or heard from her again after that.

Guard Wang Shuzhen used the excuse of checking hygiene in the cells and forced me to sit on a small stool 13 cm high and 10 cm wide without moving around. She forbade me to use the bathroom.

Sometimes people from the Procuratorate came to inspect. The guards forbade me to say anything about the abuse. I spoke with those people about the situation in the labor camp. They usually said, "You can write letters. I'll resolve it." But after I spent a long time to finally write a report, guard Wang Liping took it away.

Another time, two new inmates were assigned to monitor me. We ate food from the same bowl. They were suddenly told one day not to eat or drink any more. A physical checkup was arranged for the next day. They were scared because they knew that two inmates in Group Four had been released because of having hepatitis. They thought they were being segregated and thought they had gotten the disease themselves as well. I told them not to worry because if it were truly the case, they wouldn't still be here. The guards then changed all the utensils and made everyone take medicine for a week to prevent the disease, but they told the inmates that it was for sunstroke prevention. I didn't take the medicine. They cursed me again.

The guards used the inmates to brutally persecute me so the inmates could get their sentences reduced. The inmates did not let me move. If I moved they would kick me and hit me ruthlessly. One day they tried to tear my clothes off to force me to change into a prison uniform. I fought back and they weren't successful. In retaliation they forbade me to wash my clothes or have a bowel movement. Usually they let me go to the bathroom once a day. This time they would not let me go for five days. At last, they were afraid of something unexpected happening to me, so they let me go in a bag in my cell and took it out.

Not seeing the sunlight all day, without any freedom, listening to the guards and inmates slandering Dafa every day, was such a suffering. The guards forbade us to open the windows or doors. There were no fans in the summer. They tied us up, kicked us, and verbally abused us and restricted our toilet use. Such persecution and abuse! The guards threatened the inmates who monitored me not to say anything to the outside world. Otherwise, they would have their sentences extended.

A righteous person risked his/her life to take this picture. Here are three terribly beaten Falun Gong practitioners behind bars. Do not look only at their swollen, bloodstained, and disfigured faces, but see also the peaceful, calm confidence in their eyes, an expression of their firm belief in the truth of the universe. Our sincere thanks to the righteous person who took this history-making picture documenting the evil of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The identities of the three have been confirmed as middle school teachers Mr. Yang Yufeng, Ms. Yang Shifang, and Ms. Sui Jingmei from the Shouguang Experimental Middle School in Shandong Province. The picture was taken a few days after they were tortured. They suffered this kind of inhumane torture only because they wouldn't give up their belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

Mr. Yang Yufeng, Ms. Yang Shifang, and Ms. Sui Jingmei went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong during the summer of 2000. At midnight they were grabbed by authorities and transported back to the school. They were detained behind bars in a small room already prepared for them. They all ate, slept, and eliminated in the same room. All the school leaders were part of this persecution.

The following day, the former principal, Zhang Chunhe; the driver, Wu Ruixian; and the security director, Zhang Peifeng, hired four gangsters just out of prison at the labor market. The three practitioners passed out many times due to the beatings at the hands of these hired gangsters. These teachers received no salaries during the 50 days they were illegally detained, but the gangsters were paid.

During that time, the school administration placed the playground off limits to keep the teachers and students from seeing the practitioners. Any food and water left by sympathizers was taken by the school. Many sympathetic students hated the authorities for what was going on .

The three teachers suffered severe and unrelenting torture both physically and mentally during their detention. At first the school refused to release them no matter what. When the school finally agreed to let them go, the former Education Bureau director, Zhang Wennan, refused to agree. The teachers were kept until they could not move anymore.

Shouguang Experimental Middle was divided into two schools during the last six months of 2000. The high school students were moved to the current Modern Middle School, while the junior high students remained. In June 2005, the 610 Office from Shouguang City came to seize teacher Mr. Yang Yufeng. They took his computer and books with the complete cooperation of principal Li Zhengping and other school leaders. Mr. Yang and his wife were detained in the city's detention center for one month. Later that year, Mr. Yang was sent to the heinous Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for two years, while his wife, Yang Shifang, was sent to the nefarious Weifang Brainwashing Center.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Dianbin, 78 years old, was from Chifeng City, the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region (AR). He went to Beijing three times to appeal for justice for Dafa and was brutally tortured and detained twice. His three sons, three daughters-in-law, and three daughters were all arrested and ruthlessly tortured. Mr. Zhao died on March 20, 2007, due to the long-term harassment and persecution by personnel from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Zhao Dianbin was originally from the Songshan District of Chifeng City. He used to suffer from various illnesses such as asthma and heart disease caused by lung disorders. His annual medical costs were the highest at his place of employment. Mr. Zhao started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996 and all his illnesses were cured. His grey hair started to turn black again, and from then on he no longer needed to spend a penny on medicine.

In July 1999, the CCP and Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Dafa. On July 22, 1999, several policemen roughly forced Mr. Zhao into a police vehicle when he was practicing the Falun Gong exercises in front of Chifeng City Museum. They drove him and other practitioners to a mountain in a far-away Chifeng suburban area. Then they pushed him and the other practitioners out of the vehicle and left. The practitioners had to walk home. On July 23, 1999, police chief Liu Qi from the Xitun local police station in the Hongshang District arrested Mr. Zhao at his home. In addition, he went to the workplace of Mr. Zhao's son, Zhao Honghai, and arrested him as well. The policemen forced Mr. Zhao, who is in his 70s, to kneel under the steaming hot sun until he fell over from heat exhaustion. One sympathetic policeman finally let him go home.

In October 1999, Zhao Dianbin went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. The Beijing authorities arrested him and detained him in Huairou County (a Beijing suburb), where CCP personnel threatened Mr. Zhao that they would "execute" him. Even so, he still would not tell them his home address and simply waited for them to kill him [Note: Because of the Chinese Communist Party's practice of implicating and harassing family members and work units of Falun Gong practitioners, practitioners often refuse to give their name and address when they are arrested, in order to protect their families and associates]. One of them later told him that if nobody came to take his body away after he was executed, the man would lose his job. Mr. Zhao felt sorry for him, so he told them whom they should contact to get his body after the execution. These wicked people then took Mr. Zhao to the Chifeng Liaison Office in Beijing and he was taken back to Chifeng. Zheng Hongchao (or Zheng Hongtao) took Mr. Zhao's money out of his pocket.

On October 30, 2000, CCP personnel from the Hongshan District suddenly arrived at Mr. Zhao's residence to search it and confiscate his personal belongings. They arrested him, his wife Zou Reihuan, his son Zhao Hongyang; and daughter-in-law Zhao Chunfeng. All of them were later cruelly tortured. Policeman Yang Liping and another officer used barbaric methods to torture the over 70-year-old Zhao Dianbin. They used electric shocks and brutal beatings. In addition, they handcuffed him and then tightened the cuffs until he passed out. They then fabricated an oral confession and pressed his fingerprint on the paper while he was unconscious. After that, they used this falsified oral confession to threaten Mr. Zhao's daughter, Zhao Shuzhen, who worked in Beijing. The police claimed that Mr. Zhao testified that Zhao Shuzhen had participated in the "October 15^th" city-wide posting of truth-clarification materials, a well-known trumped-up case in Chifeng. This case provided false testimony for the notorious officials Bu Ren and others, who used it as their justification to torture Zhao Hongyang, Zhao Chunfeng, and Zou Ruihuan.

CCP personnel in Chifeng detained Mr. Zhao, who was full of cuts and bruises, in the Hongshan District Detention Center. They took away the 220 yuan he had on him and also extorted 6,000 yuan more from him. Officer Yang Liping would not issue him a receipt.

At the meantime, they spread lies that the "October 15th" activity had been organized by Ms. Zhao Shuzhen, and gathered over a dozen police officers to go to Beijing to arrest her. They claimed that they had solved an important case. The officers and Chifeng TV Station videotaped Ms. Zhao Shuzhen, and broadcast it on the Inner Mongolia AR TV Station channel. They broadcast information on Ms. Zhao's whole family and her relatives. In addition, they asked her to comment on the "self-immolation" case. Ms. Zhao said, "Dafa practitioners do not kill any animals, not to mention a human being. The process and results of the self-immolation, and what was said were full of conflicts and loopholes. It is obvious that the self-immolation was fabricated." She sternly resisted the fabrication and persecution, and explained that she was working in Beijing during that time. She said she was working in the same kitchen as her neighbor at the time and requested an official investigation. However, the authorities from the Public Security and the Investigation and Legal Bureaus of the Hongshan District in Chifeng totally ignored her request, and the Hongshan District Court sentenced Ms. Zhao to three years of imprisonment, and locked her up in the First Women's Prison in Huhhot, Inner Mongolia AR.

Since the persecution started eight years ago, Mr. Zhao Dianbin had been brutally tortured twice and detained. His sons, daughter-in-laws, and daughters had all been arrested, tortured, detained, forced to do hard labor, and imprisoned. He and his wife had both been devastated mentally and physically. When his son, Zhao Honghai, became destitute and homeless to avoid being further persecuted, his young son was left alone, so Mr. Zhao had to take his grandson to and from school on his bike. During that time, they had two accidents, but he did not ask the others involved in the accidents for payment. They stayed at home until they recovered on their own.

In May 2005, officials from the Hongshan District suddenly broke into Zhao Honghai's residence. They confiscated the recordings of Dafa lectures. In October 2006, they suddenly broke into Zhao Dianbin's residence and took away the family's inherited silver.

In addition, Yin Shouming from Tienan Police Station in the Hongshan District, Xu Caiyun from the Residential Committee, and Ma and Zou Jinglin from the Street Administration Office went to Mr. Zhao's home repeatedly, trying to drive him out of their jurisdiction. They came day and night to threaten him. They pounded on the door, and yelled wildly. His neighbors were horrified. Zhao Dianbin started to have symptoms of a hernia. In 2005 and 2006, he twice had symptoms of a stroke. After the first one, he could not move or talk for two hours, then everything returned to normal. The second time, he recovered fully in five days.

Mr. Zhao Dianbin had been harassed by CCP personnel for a long time. His entire family had suffered from various degrees of persecution. As a result of the relentless persecution, Mr. Zhao passed away on March 20, 2007.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Weijie from Wuhan City has been missing since March 20, 2007. His wife has been searching for him everywhere. She eventually went to the Huaqiao Street 610 Office and the Jiang'an District 610 Office to inquire about her husband's whereabouts. The head of the Jiang'an District 610 Office, Li Yingjie, first said that her husband was sent to a brainwashing center, but later he totally denied that claim. Zhang Weijie's wife got very anxious. She worried that her husband might have become a victim of organ harvesting. She called the Wuhan City Mayoral hotline to seek help. After that, Li Yingjie acknowledged that Zhang Weijie was detained in a brainwashing center, but he denied that the Jiang'an District 610 Office had arrested him. He said it was the higher authorities that had arrested Zhang Weijie and that he didn't know Zhang Weijie's exact whereabouts.

On March 30, Mr. Zhang's wife went to the Wuhan City 610 Office to inquire about his whereabouts and find out the reason he was arrested. She also asked the 610 Office to release him unconditionally. A woman named Zhao, who works in the Wuhan City 610 Office, talked to Mr. Zhang's wife. She said that the 610 Office had arrested Zhang Weijie secretly because they worried that if he wasn't "transformed," he would influence more Falun Gong practitioners to "cause trouble." Zhang Weijie's wife was very angry. She pointed out clearly that this was organized crime committed by the government.

Zhao then called Li Yingjie to come and "solve the problem." Two cars arrived and four men and one woman got out. None of them was Li Yingjie. One pretended to be Li Yingjie and told Zhang Weijie's wife, "If you want to see Zhang Weijie now, we can take you to see him." She knew they were trying to deceive her, so she refused to go with them. Then the person who pretended to be Li Yingjie threatened her, "You already know that Zhang Weijie is in the brainwashing center. Do not look for him anymore."

Zhang Weijie's wife searched for her husband everywhere for a week. She knows that her husband was arrested by the Wuhan City 610 Office, in collusion with the First Section of the Wuhan City Police Department, but she still does not know exactly where he is.

(Clearwisdom.net) Weining Forced Labor Camp, located in the Mingshan District in Benxi City, Liaoning Province, currently detains about 20 to 30 Falun Dafa practitioners from the areas of Anshan, Tieling, Dandong, Jinzhou, Panjin, Yinkou, and other places. The labor camp conducts brutal brainwashing and "transformation" activities.

The so-called "legal center" in the Weining Forced Labor Camp has implemented various cruel measures to carry out high-pressure brainwashing and "transformation." For example, on the first day in the "legal center" a newcomer first has to go through the so-called "talk," from early in the morning to late at night. One is confronted with nonstop attacks such as slander, threats, and temptations, coming from the guards or collaborators, one after another. This kind of treatment goes on for days and nights with the help of videos attacking Dafa. Practitioners were not given one moment of peace, let alone sleep. They had people following them even when they used the toilet. Some practitioners could not take these relentless attacks of misleading concepts and ideas, and they gave up the practice or were "transformed." The guards utilized collaborator to physically attack and walk on practitioners, who were roped and bound with their legs crossed with a flat board on top. The guards would sometimes force a male and female practitioner to embrace each other while bound in that position.

A more brutal torture involved tying up a practitioner face up or down with his or her four limbs spread eagled on a bed for 15 to 20 days. They had to eat on the bed and were not even allowed up to use the toilet. When finally released, they were unable to walk, even for short distances.

Labor Camp Director Liu Shaoshi, formerly the director of the health department, nicknamed "Little Ghost Liu," was fired from his post because of his extreme corruption. At this time, the Chinese Communist Party had just begun to persecute practitioners nationwide. The drug rehabilitation center in the camp was converted to a special center for detaining practitioners. The vicious Liu Shaoshi seized the opportunity and became the director of this newly established center. He deceived practitioners and their families with false kindness and feigned compassion, as part of his process of "transforming" practitioners.

Department manager Zheng Tao always used excuses to increase non-"transformed" practitioners' sentences in order to achieve his own goals by means of threats and incentives. Assistant Camp Director Guo Tieying threatened steadfast practitioners every day. They both utilized collaborator to torment practitioners. For example, practitioner Mr. Li Guangwen, a college graduate, 40 years old and still single, was sexually taunted by a woman who even took a stool and sat in front of Li Guangwen, forehead touching forehead, embracing his neck. (Clearwisdom.net) The Women's Prison of Liaoning Province is located in Prison City in Shenyang in the Masanjia area. It is a living hell that persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners. The administrators and guards lack both humanity and morals in their treatment of practitioners. Every practitioner is stripped and searched upon entering or leaving. The authorities are afraid that their criminal treatment of practitioners will be exposed, so they tightly block information from leaving the prison.

Ms. Zhang Shuxia, a practitioner from the government of the Heping District in Shenyang City, was detained in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. She was illegally arrested and taken there in December 2005. She was not allowed to sleep, and was brutally beaten by vicious inmates and guards every day. Two bones in her back were broken due to the beatings. Ms. Zhang once passed out while being shocked with an electric baton by Zhang Xiuli, the team leader of the Re-education Branch. Sometimes the guards cuffed both of her hands to a radiator and beat her violently. The guards also handcuffed her arms behind her back, then stood and faced her about four meters away. They repeatedly pushed and kicked her to the opposite sides of the room. They tortured her like this until she sustained injuries all over her head and body.

From December 2005 to the summer of 2006, they tortured Zhang Shuxia every day. Because I left this prison in the summer of 2006, I do not know what happened to Ms. Zhang afterwards. The guards who mistreated her included Zhang Xiuli, leader of the Seventh Team, and Dong Fang, director of the Re-education Branch. Inmates who participated in abusing Zhang Shuxia included Wang Chunjiao and Miao Guangxia.

I also witnessed the terrible persecution of a practitioner from Fushun. Since the malicious inmates surrounding her did not allow her to talk, I do not know her name. She was treated with inhuman cruelty and brutality. One day as she was walking on the road, the guards hit her and she fell to the ground. She could not get up because her head was seriously injured. Her head was already wrapped by layers of white cloth, due to a previous injury. The guards then dragged her by her hair down the road. After enduring such brutal treatment for as long as one year, this practitioner passed away.

The Liaoning Province Women's Prison forced practitioners to work from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. They were forced to do hard labor every day. For 365 days a year, practitioners were only given a 100-gram piece of cornbread filled with sand per day. The so-called "soup" always had a layer of black grease floating on top, which smelled disgusting. The way they treated practitioners who did not give up the practice of Falun Gong was even worse. Every practitioner was surrounded by five or six of the most vicious inmates and was not allowed to talk. If they did, they would be violently beaten. In the course of the day, they were only allowed to go to bathroom once. Food sent from home was either confiscated by guards or thrown away.

The above is just a small sampling of the persecution experienced by practitioners in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

Practitioner Mr. Luan Fusheng is currently in the Taiyuan City Public Security Bureau's 109 Hospital for emergency treatment. He is near-death due to complications from diabetes caused by long-term persecution and malnutrition and has also been diagnosed with tuberculosis.

The hospital has listed his condition as critical for the third time since the end of 1995. His family has repeatedly requested that the officials at the Shanxi Provincial Jail Administration Bureau release him on bail for medical treatment, but they've refused every time, saying, "Falun Gong practitioners aren't to be released on bail for medical treatment."

Li Heping is Shijiazhuang practitioner Ms. Wang Bo's attorney. On February 13, 2007, Li Heping went to the Intermediate Court of Shijiazhuang City to submit legal documents. On March 14, agents of the Beijing City Judicature Bureau went to Li Heping's law office and expressed their "concern." On March 16 the Beijing City Police Department National Security Team went to the legal office and exerted pressure on the director.

Ms. Zhou Juhua is around 55 years old. She lives in Dalin Village, Dalin Town, Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province. On March 6, 2007, Zhou Juhua was arrested when she went to Danxing Town to distribute truth-clarification materials. She was first detained in the Yongxing Town Police Station in Shuangliu County and then transferred to the Shuangliu Police Department.

During that time officers of the Sanxing Town Police Station and the Yongxing Town Police Station went to Dalin, searched Ms. Zhou's home and confiscated her property.

On March 15, 2007, practitioner Ms. Lin Yuexia from Lizhuang Village, Lingqing City, was reported along with some other practitioners while they clarified the truth. Officers of the Daiwan Township Police Station arrested them. Ms. Lin is currently detained at the Lingqing Detention Center. Another practitioner managed to escape with righteous thoughts and righteous actions.

At 7 a.m. on March 19, 2007, Yao Xuejun and five plainclothes policemen broke into local practitioner Mr. Wang Congwen's home, intending to arrest him by force and take him to the provincial brainwashing center. Mr. Wang Congwen jumped from the third floor and is now receiving emergency medical treatment at a hospital.

During the first half of 2005, Xishui County police arrested Mr. Rao Wanglai from Zhudian, Zishui County. Mr. Rao was sentenced to four years' imprisonment. He is currently detained at a detention center in Xishui County and is being subjected to inhuman torture. On the morning of February 15, 2007, three of his cell mates, including Chen Lei, beat him. Chen Lei kicked Mr. .Rao in the groin, rendering him unconscious. Officials at the detention center sent him to Xishui Local Hospital for emergency treatment. The doctor diagnosed Mr. Rao with ruptured testicles. His condition was very serious and he needed to be hospitalized. Six days later he was removed from the hospital by force, prematurely ending his treatment. He is still being detained.

Mr. Zhong Changkui and Ms. Zhang Yuhong were illegally sentenced to three years' imprisonment, but their current whereabouts are unknown.

On December 12, 2005, Mr. Li Zhengwen was sent to the Tangsunhu Brainwashing Center. In January 2006 the guards tied him to a chair and injected him with an unidentified substance. As a result Mr. Li lost the ability to communicate. Several days later Mr. Li was sent to the psych ward at the Hubei Provincial People's Hospital. He is currently detained at the First Detention Center in Xishui County.

On February 10, 2007, Ms. Luo Libin was sentenced to two years' forced labor education. Now she is detained in the Dongpo District Detention Center in Meishan City.

On March 15, 2007, about 20 policemen from the Meishan National Security Team and the Chengxi Police Station in Dongpo District, Meishan City, arrested Ms. Shi Huafen, who lives on Xiaxi Street in Dongpo District. She is now detained in the Dongpo District Detention Center in Meishan City.

Around March 13, 2007, Mr. Gao Zhengjia of Gaozhai Village, Lidian Town, Anlu City, Hubei Province, was arrested while he distributed truth-clarification materials in Yunmeng County, Hubei Province. Gao Zhengjia's wife is mute and has a mental disorder. Their son is about five years old. The whole family depends on Mr. Gao for financial support.

On the afternoon of March 9, 2007, 52-year-old Ms. Li Yuanzhen from Shiyan City was arrested at home by officers from the police section at the Second Railway Department in Bailang District, Shiyan City. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Han Shufen is an elderly practitioner from Poyang Street, Jiang'an District, Wuhan City. She was reported around 8 a.m. on March 15, 2007, while she distributed truth-clarification materials. Officers from the Wuhan Police Department, the Jiang'an District Police Department, and the Shanghai Street Police Station arrested her at home and conducted an illegal search. Afterwards Ms. Han's children went to the police station and asked for her release. The police threatened and beat Ms. Han's family members and detained her youngest son at the Jiang'an Detention Center for ten days. Her youngest son received numerous injuries to his head and neck. Ms. Han Shufen is currently detained at the Hubei Woman's Detention Center.

On July 10, 1999, Ms. Li Shijuan went to Nanning City to validate the Fa. She was arrested on the way and sent to the Nanning Police Department. She was illegally detained for 24 hours. In March 2001, Chen Jinyang from Jinghai Town sent Ms. Li by force to the brainwashing center at the Beihai Drug Rehabilitation Center.

Ms. Lei Yinzhi is a practitioner in Wuhan City. She was a high-ranking official in the Hubei Province Women's Association. On February 2007 the local police arrested her while she was clarifying the truth to people.

On March 10, 2007, practitioner Ms. Zhang Guixian went to the old family housing of Honghe State's government in Yunnan Province to distribute truth-clarification materials. A resident reported her to the guards of the Changda Company. Ms. Zhang Guixian was taken away by force. That night she was sent to the Gejiu Police Department Detention Center, where she is currently detained.

On March 7, 2007, 58-year-old practitioner Ms. Li Shuqing from Sanxing Town, Shuangliu County was reported to the police while she was clarifying the truth in Yongxing Town, Shuangliu County. Officers from the Yongxing Town Police Station arrested her. She is currently detained at the Shuangliu County Detention Center.

On the morning of March 19, 2007, Qichun County 610 Office Director Song Jie led local policemen, including Yi Jun, to arrest practitioner Ms. Yi Juying in front of her home in Qichun County.

Ms. Mo Xianmei from Zengcheng was reported for distributing truth-clarification materials to her customer. She was arrested and detained at the Zengcheng Detention Center.

On October 16, 2006, Mr. Xiang Kaicheng left some truth-clarification materials on a tour bus near the entrance of the Hongjiang City People's Hospital. The driver saw him, grabbed him by his clothing, and reported him to the police. Police officer Yi Zhongxian of the Hongjiang 610 Office took Mr. Xiang by force to the police department and interrogated him for more than one hour. Afterwards the police took Mr. Xiang's keys and searched his home. They illegally took all of his valuables, including his computer, printer, cellphone, recorder, computer software CDs, Dafa books, and truth-clarification materials. Mr. Xiang was illegally detained for the next 12 days.

On the afternoon on March 7, 2007, police officers from Baicheng and Taonan arrested practitioner Ms. Yu Shuchun from Taonan at her office at the Taonan City Business Bureau. They searched her home and confiscated her property without a warrent. It's believed that Ms. Yu Shuchun is currently detained in Baicheng City.

Ms. Meng Fanguang is 40 years old. Before she began practicing Falun Dafa she had such severe pain in her midsection that she couldn't bend at the waist. Soon after she obtained the Fa all of her illnesses disappeared.

In the spring of 2000 Ms. Meng went to Beijing to appeal and was sent to a forced labor camp by the Tuqiang Police Department.

In August of 2006 the Tuqiang Police Department arrested her again. In order to resist the persecution she went on a hunger strike. Later on she was sent to the Shuanghe Labor Camp in Qiqihaer City. At the same time practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiuchun, Ms. Zhang Huimin, Ms. Bai Zhijuan and Ms. Zhang Qiulan were also arrested and sent to labor camps.

On the morning of March 13, 2007, Yuan from the Hengyang City National Security Team brought several police officers from the Zhengxiang Police Station and broke into Ms. Liu Ying's home. Ms. Liu was arrested and sent to Hengyang's Second Detention Center. The police illegally searched her home and took all of her Dafa books and truth-clarification materials.

On March 15, 2007, Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen from Yilong County was arrested when she went to visit Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, and distribute truth-clarification materials. Afterwards officials from the Yilong County Politics and Law Committee, the 610 Office, and the National Security Team turned out in full force and arrested practitioners Ms. Xian Yuzhen and Mr. Lin Shoujing at the old county capital and searched the two practitioners' homes. Additionally, a couple of other practitioners were forced to become homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested.

At 9 a.m. on March 19, 2007, Mr. Xiang Debin was working at the Anda Transportation Company in Xian'an District, Xianning City, Hubei Province. Five policemen from the 610 Office arrested him and sent him directly to the Hubei Provincial Brainwashing Center.

On the afternoon of March 9, 2007, 60-year-old Ms. Li Xiuying from the Guiyang Electric Factory was arrested while she clarified the truth in Wangchengpo, Guiyang City. Ms. Li Xiuying is currently detained at the Nanming District Detention Center.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. (Clearwisdom.net) After the Chinese Communist Party's inhumane and criminal practice of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and then cremating their bodies was exposed, the Falun Dafa Association and Minghui website [Chinese version of Clearwisdom] founded "The Coalition To Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong

On-site in China" on April 4, 2006. The coalition calls for people from all walks of life and any organization to form a united investigation group to gather possible leads for investigation of illegal organ harvesting. The following are some leads we obtained recently. We hope all kind-hearted people who have special knowledge about such activities will assist us in continuing to expose the inside stories of labor camps, prisons, and hospitals in China that are colluding with each other to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Together we are striving to end the persecution.

The No.1 Central Hospital, which is located next to the multi-level crossing bridge at Wangdingdi, Tianjin City, has recently accepted a lot of foreign patients who need kidney transplants. Someone from the hospital revealed that this is the last year for Tianjin City to be able to use organs from prisoners who are sentenced to death. After this year the decision shall be made by the central government. So this year they are planning to perform more than 100 kidney transplant operations.

We are concerned about these "death row prisoners." If these organs are taken from Falun Gong practitioners, we hope those kind people and hospital personnel who know the truth will bravely step forward, expose the criminal acts, and stop the slaughtering. We hope the international community will pay attention to this issue.

A few days ago when I was chatting with my husband, he told me something that I feel I have to write about.

My husband met with an ex-colleague of his whom he had not seen for years. The colleague told my husband this sad story: His brother passed away three years ago. His brother suffered from liver cancer, and he had heard that a hospital in Tianjin could do a transplant so he went in hopes of extending his life. The hospital was quite famous with respect to organ transplants, even internationally. Many foreigners went to the hospital for transplants and they did not have to wait long. The hospital told the colleague's brother that they could guarantee success if the patient paid 300,000 yuan. The doctor told them how many operations had been successfully done.

So his brother went to the hospital and soon they performed the transplant for him. But unlike he was promised, his body rejected the new liver. He then went through six operations in total and spent more than 800,000 yuan before he eventually died. His family felt that they had been cheated. They went to see the doctor but the doctor didn't even want to talk to them.

This colleague went to live in Tianjin and tried every few days to see the doctor. But the doctor refused to see him. With no other recourse, he just stayed at the hospital and started to tell the true story of his brother's death to passerby and hoped other people would not be cheated anymore.

One day he saw the doctor coming out. He tried to catch the doctor. The doctor spotted him and quickly ran to his car. He saw the doctor was going to run away, so he got in front of the car and lay down, stopping the car with his body. Many people were around. The doctor knew he was at fault, so eventually he got out of the car and took the colleague into the building. The doctor offered to return 200,000 yuan. He wanted to insist on a more just compensation, but it was too difficult for him to keep pushing the doctor. He accepted the money offered.

He said that when he was at the hospital trying to tell his story, he saw five or six young men in camouflage uniforms bringing organs into the hospital every day. The hospital performed many transplants every day, but only a few patients survived. Doctors used those few survivors as advertisements, but most patients died like his brother. He said, "I cannot afford to continue my protest anymore. Otherwise, if my condition allowed, I would sue them for selling human organs. They actually got the organs very cheap and they sell them to patients at a very high price. But I can't afford this anymore. I have to accept it."

I asked my husband whether the name of the hospital was the Eastern Organ Transplant Center. He confirmed that it was.

Investigation lead: The CCP Removes Organs from Living Falun Gong Practitioners, A Thief Crying "Stop Thief"

Since the exposure of the CCP's criminal practice of harvesting organs from practitioners and then cremating their bodies and the consequent formation of "The Coalition To Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong On-site in China" on April 4, 2006, room for the CCP to continue to remove and sell organs from living Falun Gong practitioners is getting smaller and smaller. More unspeakable secrets have been exposed.

On March 15, 2007, Shandong City Bandao City News reported on page A20: "Underground kidney sales have become an 'order form' operation." The article said that a reporter saw an advertisement for a "Kidney Sale" on the wall of a hallway in a hospital wing in Jinan City Central Hospital. The reporter dialed the number listed on the ad. The woman who answered the phone recommended a doctor. The doctor said he has a large kidney supply and he told the reporter (who pretended to be a friend of a patient) that a kidney from a dead person is 5,000 yuan and a kidney from a live body usually costs 60,000 yuan. He said that one could fill out an order form and that all they needed was a patient's medical record. They would then find a person who sells kidneys. The patient only needed to pay the fee and then the seller would sign a contract with the patient stating "kidney donation without payment." That's all.

More that likely this is a "show" concocted by the CCP, the hospital, and the reporter. How could an ordinary doctor have access to such a large supply of kidneys unless the CCP granted him such power? Plus, how come this advertisement appeared only in the Jinan City Central Hospital but nowhere else? How could the hospital allow such an advertisement to be posted without reporting it to the police? The only answer is that the hospital obtained certain benefits or that it tried to shift people's focus to clear themselves of participation the crime. They used this to say "those kidney transplants are not done by the hospital but by those underground 'business doctors.'" The hospital is trying to protect itself from the charge of openly selling organs.

Also, the first sentence of the article was: "On July 1, 2006, the Health Ministry issued a law that forbids selling or buying organs." If it is illegal, why doesn't the governor take action? Obviously the organ sellers have permission from the CCP to do this. The article can even be seen as an advertisement itself, telling people the situation of organ supplies and prices.

"Our Law Wheel protects you if you're a true cultivator. My roots are all deeply planted in the universe, and if someone could affect you, he could affect me, and to put it directly, he'd be able to affect the universe." "When you really cultivate on a true path nobody will dare to just go and give you trouble, and what's more, you have my Law Bodies protecting you, so you won't run into any danger." (Zhuan Falun, 2003 edition)

I firmly believe in Teacher and the Fa and I keep in mind that I am a disciple of our Master all the time. I am not afraid when I run into tribulations while doing the three things well. Although the road of cultivation has been a bumpy one, so far I am safe and sound!

I obtained the Fa on October 21, 1998. A fellow practitioner lent me a copy of Zhuan Falun. I read more than 80 pages in one sitting and felt delighted beyond expression. I felt that this was the Dafa that I had been seeking, and firmly believed that Teacher would lead me back home. When my husband returned home from work at noon, he asked me what had happened and why I looked so happy. I told him that I had gotten the best book, a book that teaches how to cultivate "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." When my son heard it, he immediately said, "Mom, I'll cultivate with you." He was only 8 years old. This is how my son and I embarked on the path of cultivation. At 4:00 a.m. every day, we went to group practice in the park and studied the Fa during the day. In the evening we went to listen to the Fa at a fellow practitioner's home or share experiences and discuss.

On July 20, 1999 when the evil Jiang's group began the overwhelming defamation and persecution of Dafa, I felt very sad at heart. I could hardly believe that such a good Dafa and such a great Teacher would be wronged in such a way. I had a thought in my mind that I would follow Teacher to the end and would not discredit Dafa. On that day I returned to my parents' home to help them with the rice harvest. When my parents heard about the persecution, they said to me, "Don't practice any more, you don't understand; the Cultural Revolution has returned." I said, "Cultural Revolution or not, I believe that Teacher is a good person and he is here to save human beings." Then I recited Teacher's "Nothing Kept" (Hong Yin, Volume I, translation A):

"In life, nothing sought, In death, regretting naught; Washing away all wrong thought, Buddhahood, with less adversity, is wrought."

Early the following morning, Zhou Yaping from the security department of my workplace came to my home to harass me. He asked me to hand him Teacher's portrait and Dafa books. Without the slightest fear, I ignored him. He dug through the drawer of my desk and found an excerpt of a hand-copied Zhuan Falun, Volume II. He grabbed it rashly and said he could get by on fulfilling his duties by taking this. During that time, people from my place of employment, the County Economics Committee, Public Security substation and the Township kept interrupting and harassing me, and they kept my home phone ringing. Li Xiaoshan, a police officer, violated the law while enforcing the law. He searched my home without a search warrant and almost every day he turned my cabinets and closets upside down without finding anything. At the end of 1999, my employer had a "talk" with me every day, afraid that I would go and appeal. The factory director demanded that my husband divorce me, so that they could fire me. I was not moved and told them, "I practice Falun Gong and try to be a good person, what is wrong with that?" They were dumbfound and thus the issue of divorce was over.

On June 18, 2006, some fellow practitioners and I went to Beijing to validate the Fa. I unfolded a banner at Tienanmen Square and shouted: "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is indeed good!" The evil police officers rushed towards me, grabbed my banner and took me to the Tienanmen Police Substation. Around 5:00 pm they took me to the Mentougou Substation. A policeman asked, "What is your name?" I shouted, "I'm a Dafa practitioner." I went on a hunger strike at supper time and refused to eat their food. At night, they played so-called "interrogation" tapes. I told them that I wanted to go home, as I had not done anything wrong and I just came to say some words of justice, that "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" are good and that our Teacher is good! I repeated these statements numerous times. I was on a hunger strike and was not afraid of the authorities. During my 15 days there, I was force-fed three times, my face was slapped numerous times, and I was even injected with an unknown drug once. In the end they had no other measures to make me yield, so they released me. I returned to join the wave of validating the Fa and clarifying the truth.

In late June, 2001, a fellow practitioner who had been arrested revealed my name under duress. Around 10:00 pm, the director of the local 610 Office led many people to my home. I did not open the door (I was reading Lecture Nine of Zhuan Falun at the time). The perpetrators kicked the door, the phone kept ringing and they kept barking orders outside. I was not moved and finished reading Lecture Nine. They banged on the door more and more hysterically. I became afraid and I opened the door. They ran into my home like bandits, turned it upside down, but failed to find anything. I held Zhuan Falun close to my heart. My son told them, "My Mom is a good person." The evil, unlawful thugs threatened him, saying, "We'll also take you away." My son was frightened. I was subsequently taken to the police substation.

In the substation, a vicious person named Chen Huanzhu hit me savagely. He banged my head against the wall and slapped me 30 times. It made me dizzy and I lost control of my bladder. I remembered Teacher's Fa: "If not, do not endure passively, and face the evil people with righteous thoughts at all times." ("Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful," Essentials for Further Advancement, II). So I shouted: "Do not beat people!" Chen Huanzhu backed away a few steps and then cuffed my hands to the bench. I couldn't sleep that whole night. The following morning I vomited because I was beaten so badly that I was not able to eat. I did not eat or drink for two days. They asked me again if I knew what my "sins" were. I replied, "I have no sins, what's wrong with being a good person?" Under Teacher's protection, I walked out of the police station and returned to Fa-rectification.

On the night of October 2, 2003, fellow practitioners and I were spotted by some people while we were clarifying the truth and distributing materials in a neighboring county. They tailed us until around 7:00 p.m.. On the ridge among the farm fields, one of the people following us suddenly ran over to grab my bag. I held onto it tightly since there were many truth-clarification materials and DVDs inside the bag. As we were in a stalemate for a long time, the other practitioners escaped. At that time, Teacher's words from "Rationality" came to my mind:

"Getting arrested is not the purpose. Validating Dafa is what's truly magnificent, and it is to validate Dafa that you step forward. Since you step forward, you should try to succeed in validating the Fa."

It suddenly dawned in my heart, so I clarified the truth to him. I said that Falun Gong was wronged, the self immolation at Tiananmen Square was to defame Falun Gong, and that Falun Gong was popular around the globe. I told him this was the truth. He didn't listen and hit me hard. I fell to the field and he stepped on me. I shouted, "Don't torture good people, you'll receive retribution if you persecute good people." The man said, "I want you to die tonight ..."

I sent righteous thoughts while sitting on the ridge and holding onto my bag, asking Teacher in my mind to strengthen his disciple. The perpetrator could not drag me away, so he took out a mobile phone trying to call other people to help. I said, "Your cellphone doesn't work." Indeed his cellphone wouldn't work. He was very angry and swore. I said confidently, "I am a disciple of the Teacher, no one can move me." Under Teacher's benevolent care, I escaped successfully. The man kept running after me, without giving up. I had no fear at all. I distributed the truth-clarification materials to each family in the area, and returned home safely.

Fellow practitioners, let us be diligent together, study the Fa and do the three things well. Everything comes from the Fa.

(Clearwisdom.net) During the 2007 Chinese New Year many practitioners went to visit their relatives. Some stopped working on producing materials at home because their family members are non-practitioners. As a result, our local material production site had to finish the workload of five production sites. It is easy to imagine how busy we were. I would like to share my thoughts about being unable to continue material production during the Chinese New Year holidays because family members are non-practitioners. If there is anything inappropriate in my opinions, please kindly point it out to me.

It is my personal understanding that those practitioners who were unable to continue working on producing materials during the Chinese New Year because their family members are non-practitioners failed to do an excellent job in clarifying the truth to their family. When making truth-clarification materials, they often do it secretly, which has left a loophole for the evil to take advantage of by manipulating their family members.

Every practitioner in our Fa study group produces materials at home. Of the five in our group, two belong to families where all family members are practitioners; the other three have non-practitioner family members. The latter practitioners' family members initially forbade them from working on materials because they thought it was too dangerous. Through constant truth clarification, their family members agreed to have a materials production site at home. They even offer help by posing as guards to ensure the practitioners' safety. If other relatives raise objections, they help to stop them and clarify the truth to them.

As an example, practitioner A's home environment was poor prior to establishing a materials production site. When other practitioners went to visit her, they always had to figure out first whether or not her husband was at home before they knocked on the door. (Her husband does not have to go to work every day.) When she helped to store materials she had to hide them. On one occasion her husband found the materials and questioned her as to where they came from and where she would distribute them. She decided to lie to her husband for fear he would be too worried, saying that fellow practitioners would come to get the materials and go out to distribute them.

When I first came into contact with practitioner A, other practitioners instructed me not to contact her when her husband was at home. One day when I went to visit her, her husband happened to be at home. I greeted him and chatted a bit. Practitioner A told me her husband was not a talkative person. It was already a friendly gesture to chat with me about family issues.

After several contacts in their home I spoke with her husband saying, "You must know that I am a cultivator." He smiled. I told him, "When I first came, your wife told me you did not know anything, nor did you care. She asked me to communicate with her in your absence. However, I don't agree. I think you know about everything, and you know Falun Dafa is great. You didn't want to offer help simply because you are worried about her safety." He smiled again.

There were no barriers between us. Nevertheless, we still had to make materials together in his absence. Sometimes when it was impossible to do things behind his back, practitioner A told her husband, "My friend is coming soon. Can you go out for a while?" Her husband initially disagreed and said, "We each handle our own things. We will not interfere with each other." Practitioner A then told him, "If you stay at home, we cannot communicate freely." Because the relationship between husband and wife was very harmonious, her husband agreed and went out.

After several such occasions I thought it would not do if we continued to handle it this way. It was winter and it was cold outside. An ordinary person normally would love to stay at home on an off-duty day. I then told practitioner A not to ask her husband to leave and to simply pretend that he could not hear anything when we discussed things. The next time I visited practitioner A her husband remained at home and did not bother us at all. I thought it was time for us to clarify the truth to him. I said to him, "Don't be nervous. All other practitioners are making materials at home. If you forbid her to do it at home, she will have to go to another's home to work on it. It would be an even greater safety issue if she came and left all the time. If she can do it at home, she can keep a low profile and can get things cleaned up as soon as she finishes everything. We all do it this way." Her husband didn't say a word, but agreed silently.

Practitioner B's family members were also non-practitioners. When she first started to make materials, her husband slammed the printer down on the floor and told me to take the materials away. Her child also strongly opposed her. When we had a discussion together, her son came to interrupt. Neither one of us was moved. We thought it was interference and we should negate it. We should continue to do what we were supposed to do. We needed to explain the matter rationally and clarify the truth if her family did not understand what we were doing. If they were not supportive we needed to make an effort to turn their attitude around and to become supportive.

When they interrupted the first time, I said nothing. Neither did I say anything the second time. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts for them and remained unmoved. The third time, her son was manipulated by evil in other dimensions and came toward us. He yelled viciously at his mother, saying: "Mom, go prepare lunch. For a whole day you don't do anything but focus on this!" I smiled at the boy and told him, "I seldom come to visit your mother. She wanted to chat with me for a while and delayed your meal. Your mother does not have a bike, but I do. I can go grocery shopping with you." The mother replied, "We have food at home. My son is just not behaving." The boy didn't argue further and went away to prepare his own lunch.

Practitioner B told me her husband had torn Dafa books apart and had met with retribution. I then asked her husband about this incident. I asked him why he would tear a Dafa book. He replied, "Even if she studies Dafa all day, she is not doing well. Why continue studying?" I replied, "You are being irrational. Why do I say that? Think about it, a teacher may have students at all levels. He or she has the top student as well as the student with the worst grade. Can you simply blame the teacher for not doing well in teaching? It was because the student did not learn well. Then the student should continue to study. If the student cannot do well even though she is studying, it would be even worse if she ceased to study."

He laughed. I then asked him why he opposed having a material site at home. He said, "Too dangerous. If one practitioner gets arrested, the police will get information on all the other practitioners." I told him, "A female practitioner was arrested a while ago. She did not betray anyone." He said, "That is no guarantee. If someone else is arrested, he may betray other practitioners." I then said, "Those practitioners who dare to work on it will do it anyway. Those who dare not, even if you force them, they will not do it." He didn't say a word. I continued to say, "You also know that your wife was in poor health, yet after practicing Dafa, she became healthy. Now Dafa is being persecuted and your wife wants to tell the truth to people. She wants to learn to make materials and share the workload of practitioners."

He did not raise any objections later.

On one occasion, her husband told me, "I want to give you some money so that you two can rent a place together. We have many guests coming in and out. What if someone spots what you are doing?" Practitioner B said to me, "Do not listen to him. No one has spotted us. I usually work on it when no one is around." I then asked her husband,"Did you hear anything?" He told me, "A friend of mine working in the city government told me the authorities are taking the persecution of Falun Gong very seriously recently and to tell my wife to be more cautious."

I told him I would think about it. The next time I visited them, I told him, "I gave consideration to your plan. I think home is the safest place. If we are to rent a place, there are neighbors above and below, as well as next door neighbors on our left and right. We have to spend money to rent, yet it cannot guarantee safety. It is different at home. Family members can help to safeguard us."

He never said anything to oppose us from having a home materials site from then on.

In fact, after constant truth clarification, he published a solemn declaration revoking all his previous words that had wronged Dafa and announcing that he believes in Dafa and supports Dafa. Her children have also become supportive.

Our cultivation experience was exactly like what Master said: "Clarifying the truth is 'like a master key.'" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference") and that "The environment is created by you, yourselves, and it, too, is essential for your improvement." ("Environment," Essentials for Further Advancement)

(Clearwisdom.net) No matter how long we have cultivated in Dafa, the levels we reach are still limited, and no matter how diligent we are in our practice, we still have human attachments before we reach consummation. Most of what we think and do in the Fa rectification process are trivial because we are not pure-hearted, but Teacher still helps us to complete our mission with great compassion and corrects us with the Fa. Because we are practitioners of cultivation and on the way to godhood, Teacher cherishes us all. However, as disciples, we cannot always let Teacher suffer for us.

There will definitely be hurdles on our cultivation path, because karma and meddling deities interfere. If we feel frustrated, that's because we do not understand the Fa well enough. Only when we let go of our human attachments will we be able to keep from adding more hurdles and running into more conflicts in our cultivation. Only then can we overcome and disintegrate the present difficulties and complete what Teacher requires of us. This is also a demonstration of enlightenment.

Dafa is boundless. Perseverance and determination on the path of Fa-rectification and following the basic requirements of Dafa carefully will result in a cultivation level that all sentient beings will admire. If we do not follow Dafa closely, the result will be far from Teacher's expectations.

What Teacher has asked us to do is the best for us, and it is the requirement of Fa-rectification. The Fa Teacher has taught is in plain language, so if we only understand the surface then our hearts are not focused on cultivation.

Regarding the specific projects in which we participate, if we can keep from mixing in our personal interests, attachments, and ways of thinking, the requirements of the Fa will be very clear to us. Doing things with a pure heart and without "self" will be the fastest and most effective way. Otherwise, there will be countless difficulties, wasted time, and internal interferences, which is what the meddling deities want. Only by letting go of our human attachments can we be free of the interference of the meddling deities. We must thoroughly eliminate the old forces and meet Teacher's requirements in Fa-rectification.

(Clearwisdom.net) For a long time, I was interfered with by lust and selfishness. Although I tried to cultivate away every one of these notions, it was not very effective. It seemed I did not dig them out by their roots and was always playing cat and mouse with these attachments. I could not escape the arrangements of the old forces.

Master's "Fa-Lecture During the 2003 Lantern Festival" helped me to suddenly enlighten to the difference between a Dafa disciple's looking inside during Fa-rectification and personal cultivation from before. Whatever you come across, your first thought should be whether it was arranged by Master, whether it is needed in the Fa-rectification, whether it was created and developed by the new cosmos, and whether it is a righteous path to leave for the future. If you look at it from the perspective of the Fa, you will find the difference between everyday notions and the Fa's requirements by completely letting go of selfishness and completely assimilating to the Fa. When you look back at those notions and attachments, you will see they are "rotten apples in the palace," which should be disposed of immediately.

(Clearwisdom.net) A while ago I was puzzled by an exterior disturbance. When one of my parents was hospitalized for surgery, my wife was suddenly taken away by the authorities. With the attachment of sentiment, I could not study the Fa or practice the exercises with a peaceful mind, and I couldn't maintain the proper hand position when sending forth righteous thoughts. I was really badly bothered at that time.

One day, when I was studying Teacher's article "Pacify the External by Cultivating the Internal" in Essentials for Further Advancement), I suddenly found the root cause of what was disturbing me; that is, I did not cultivate myself well. At that time, I enlightened to another level of meaning of cultivation--pacifying the external by cultivating the internal. If we cultivate internally, the external environment will be calm. Otherwise, we cannot form a merciful, auspicious, pure, and righteous field. Then how can we affect and restrict external factors?

"Broadly shines a Buddha's light,
Justly setting all things right"

("One With the Fa" in Hong Yin)

So only by cultivating the internal can we pacify the external. Without a pure interior state of mind, how can the exterior environment be peaceful? If I am disturbed or perplexed, is that not caused by my own mind?

Meanwhile, I realized the principle that all of what Teacher has said is "Fa" and is for directing our cultivation and is closely associated with us. When I studied that article before, I always comprehended it with a human mind and took it as a strategy for administering a country and ways for officials and common people to behave, yet I never related it to my cultivation. Also, when I studied the Fa before, I frequently chose to read whatever I liked to study. I would memorize by heart the paragraphs that were related to me. Actually, that is a kind of attachment.

"Study the Fa and gain the Fa,
Focus on how you study and cultivate,
Let each and every thing
be measured against the Fa.
Only then, with that,
is it actually cultivation."

I cannot help but ask myself, "When I study the Fa, do I measure myself against the Fa, follow Teacher's instruction and cultivate myself genuinely?"

To Our Respectful Master Li,

Greetings to our Master! Here, I want to say "Thank you!" because you saved my brother and my whole family.

I am from the Linzi Region of Shandong Province and I am 15 years old. I have a six-year-old brother who cannot attend school like other children because his brain is not fully developed. He has the intelligence and behavior of a two to three-month-old baby. He cannot talk nor learn like other children. Over the past two years, he developed a strange condition that often recurred whenever he was excited or scared. It affected his brain. My grandma said that it was called a convulsion. Every time he had a convulsion, the whole family worried about the possibly dangerous consequences. My father has visited many places to seek treatment for my brother's condition. Our family never gave up hope to find help for him. Consequently, though, we exhausted all our financial resources and, in the end, he wasn't healed. Our family is not wealthy, and the medical costs for my brother made our family's financial situation even worse.

My grandma and grandpa are both Falun Dafa practitioners. They wanted to take my brother to their house. During my brother's visit there, my grandparents let him listen to the teachings of Falun Dafa every day and taught him how to do the exercises. Because his brain is slow, he only learned how to sit with crossed legs and sometimes he would make a couple of hand movements. He was like this for two months. My brother then changed into a totally different person: his convulsions never happened again, and he has even started to talk. My father had been deeply poisoned by the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda and he had never believed in Falun Gong before this. Having personally witnessed the miracle of Falun Dafa, he has since become a faithful believer and is no longer fearful of anything.

Here, I want to sincerely thank our Master. I, too, want to be a Falun Dafa practitioner.

On the morning of March 13, 2007, a Falun Gong practitioner from Houzhuang Village, Dabai Township, named Hou Xiaoping, and her husband were driving a carload of sugar to Nanwangji Bridge when three students on bicycles made an abrupt turn towards them without giving any signal. Because the car was moving at a high speed and did not have enough time to stop, her husband turned the steering wheel in order to avoid hitting the students. This abrupt turn caused the car to run into a deep ditch on the roadside.

At the pivotal moment, Hou Xiaoping called out, "Falun Gong is good!" Just as soon as the words were said, a huge noise was heard and the car hit the edge of the ditch. The front of the car, including the windshield, was all smashed. A few residents from Nanwangji Village happened to witness the accident. They froze in shock and then commented, "Even if those people in the car survived the crash, they must have sustained severe injuries!"

A kindhearted man brought a rope from home and people used it to pull one of the car doors open. The couple crawled out of the car from the narrow opening. It was a very deep ditch and the car was totaled. The couple were covered with glass fragments. Their clothes were cut open in many places and glass fragments were dotted all over their faces, but neither one had even a scratch. It must have been divine intervention. People at the scene commented, "You two certainly have great fortune!" Ms. Hou told them, "It was Falun Gong that protected us from harm." As a result, people at the scene witnessed and understood the magnificent power of Falun Gong!

Ms. Hou's husband did not believe in Falun Gong, but he is now convinced of Falun Gong's magnificence after having survived this car crash. He says to everyone he meets these days, "It was Falun Gong that saved me from a great disaster." The news quickly spread in the nearby areas, giving people another opportunity to learn the magnificence of Falun Gong.

One evening in April 2006, the daughter of a practitioner in Zhaoyuan City was riding a bicycle home with several classmates. One of them had to stop because her shoestrings were untied. The rest of them stopped on the roadside to wait for her to retie her shoes. Suddenly, a truck driver lost control of his vehicle and hit the practitioner's daughter, who has been holding her classmate's bicycle. She and the bicycle fell into the roadside ditch. The seat and the bicycle frame were bent out of shape. The suddenness of the accident shocked everyone at the scene.

The straps on her backpack were broken, and the papers in her backpack were ruined. Bystanders thought she must have suffered a concussion or at least a fracture, but she got up by herself. She felt a little pain in her wrist and there was a big bump with blood on her head, but the doctor announced that she was perfectly well after she was checked over at the hospital.

It was our compassionate and revered Teacher who protected the child at that crucial moment. It is also because the girl has always believed that Falun Gong is good. According to the child, she often recites "Falun Gong is good" and "Truth, Compassion and Forbearance are good" from her heart.

I am a resident of Renqiu. In the fall of 1998, my husband fell off a farm vehicle that was moving very fast. He stayed in the hospital for 28 days and was unable to walk until about a month after he had checked out of the hospital. However, he could no longer work. We had to provide for our two school-aged children with tuition fees. As a small woman, I did not have the strength or will to support the family alone.

It was then that I was introduced to and started practicing Falun Gong. During the cultivation process, I understood the real meaning of life. Several illnesses that had bothered me for many years disappeared. I became perfectly healthy and was able to assume all the work in the field and at home. I was very happy.

However, the Chinese Communist Party started to suppress Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. My husband and my relatives feared for my safety, so they kept asking me to give up practicing. I knew Falun Gong was good from the bottom of my heart. Without Falun Gong, my health and my family would have collapsed. I was impervious to everything they said.

On January 20, 2007, my husband suddenly had a heart attack. He regained consciousness after emergency resuscitation. On the fourth day in the hospital, the doctor did another exam and announced that my husband's heart no longer worked and he needed a heart transplant in Beijing. Four days in the hospital cost us over 4,000 yuan. How could we possibly come up with the money for a heart transplant in Beijing? I decided to have my husband checked out of the hospital.

After we arrived home, I explained important facts about Falun Gong to my husband and asked him to say "Falun Gong is good." After about five days, he could eat. After a short while, he could take care of himself and help with some housework. Falun Gong has given my husband a new lease on life. Let me ask those of you who work in Renqiu City's public security system a question: How can I give up practicing Falun Gong?

Fu Kehu, a policeman working in Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai, was recently arrested and detained for accepting a bribe--a new car--from Zhou Zhengyi's family. Zhou was once the richest person in Shanghai, who made a fortune through bribing government officials and illegal asset acquisition.

Fu Kehu was the political instructor at the Tilanqiao Prison Division V, a section that specialized in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. He started to work there at the peak of the persecution, and proposed to forcibly "transform" Dafa practitioners with violence. Fu also planned and executed the extreme torture against Falun Dafa practitioner Yang Yuhui, (please refer to the Minghui website for related reports). He went to the cells that detained Falun Dafa practitioner He Binggang, (a graduate student of Fudan University) and Li Liang (who had returned from the U.K. after completing his studies there), and ordered them to "run the motorcycle" (a type of brutal torture). He often instigated his close follower Shen Yanrong, the director of the Youth Experimental Group (a division that specialized in persecuting practitioners), to use all means to torture Dafa practitioners.

Ge Peng, male, more than 40 years old, was a government officer in Shangjiahe Town of Xinbin County in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. When the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ge closely followed the Jiang regime to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. He often broke into practitioners' homes at night to harass them. He forced practitioners to go to the government office to write statements giving up the practice. He threatened them that if they didn't write such statements, he would send the practitioners to the higher government officials for further persecution. He often slandered Dafa, and was very active in persecuting practitioners together with the local Political and Judicial Committee.

In 2005, Ge's life was taken away by bone cancer.

Lin Chu says Falun exercises cured her carpal tunnel syndrome.

On a recent Saturday morning, seven people stood in a circle at Salt Lake City's Liberty Park, lifting and lowering their hands in ballet-like swoops and swooshes while a taped voice calmly repeated instructions in Chinese. Their slow, graceful movements were in sync with the haunting music and each other, yet the participants seemed to exist separately, inhabiting different time and space.

Breathing, lifting, gliding, they believe they are working toward tranquility and divine power, healing their bodies and clearing their minds.

They are following the principles of Falun Gong, which means "practice of the wheel of the dharma." It is not a religion, nor even an organized group. There is no clergy, no tithes and offerings and no membership requirements.

Watching these gentle practitioners stretch and meditate in the sunlight, it is hard to see why Chinese officials outlawed the group in 1999 and arrested and tortured its adherents.

Based on ancient Chinese teachings about energy, healing and the mind, Falun Gong was passed down from teachers to individual students until Master Li Hongzhi reintroduced these ideas to the public in 1992.

It brings together ideas about chi, or life's basic energy, and elements common to Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism.

Basically, the teachings include five exercises - four standing and one sitting - designed to cultivate the body, mind and spirit. They tap and develop each person's "Law Wheel," a high-energy entity spinning inside one's lower abdomen.

In the past 15 years, Falun Gong has attracted literally millions of followers - by some estimates, as many as 100 million - to its teachings about truthfulness, compassion and forbearance.

After searching and trying many different spiritual traditions, Beverly Clark still had questions. She read about Falun Gong, then ordered the faith's sacred texts: Zhuan Falun and China Falun Gong. She was hooked.

"The more I study it, the more beautiful I think it is," says Clark, who practices in the park.

For years, Jack Luo suffered painful mouth and tongue sores. He went to conventional doctors in China, then emigrated to the U.S. and tried its medical system. Nothing worked. He was angry and miserable. Within a month of doing Falun Gong exercises, he was cured, he says.

Falun exercises helped Patrice Luong cope with the death of her sister and father. The exercises also cured Lin Chu's carpal tunnel syndrome.

And so it goes.

Each of these practitioners has a story of dramatic change, healing and awakening. They say they are more compassionate, more tolerant, less angry.

Yet the Chinese government has declared the peace-loving practitioners of Falun Gong a [slanderous term omitted -- ed.] [...] and outlawed the practice. [...]

Followers have staged mass demonstrations across the globe from Beijing to Berlin, Seattle to Sydney. They've appealed to the United Nations, the U.S. government and the public to protect their rights and condemn the abuses. Some 400 protesters made their case in Salt Lake City during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, calling the Olympic spirit of global unity a complement to the movement's philosophy.

Last year human rights activists accused China of harvesting organs from live Falun Gong prisoners and then destroying their remains.

"Spirituality is always a threat to the Communists," says Luo, a restaurant owner in Heber who was a policeman in China. "The government is only one party. They control everybody, promote one mind on TV, in newspapers and schoolbooks. People are afraid."

The government is afraid of losing control, he says, because there are more Falun Gong practitioners than Communist Party members. [Editor's note: Falun Gong has no interest in politics and seeks no political power.]

Ironically, it was opposition to Communism that attracted Luong to Falun Gong. She had escaped Communist rule in Vietnam as a child, as one of the "boat people." After spending some time in a refugee camp, she and her family were assigned to Utah, where she has lived since.

So when Luong saw critiques of Falun Gong on Chinese television in 2000, she didn't believe it. She immediately sent away for the instruction books and began to practice its exercises.

"I read the book and said 'wow.' It teaches me so many things I never understood," says Luong, a Utah exercise leader. "I learned to get rid of competition and jealousy. Before I was too attached to job and boys and perfection. Now I take it more lightly."

(Clearwisdom.net) Li Guang was a general in the Han Dynasty. He was born in Chengji, Longxi County (which is now part of Gansu Province). General Li was outstanding both in his combat ability and creative talent. He fought Xiongnu more than seventy times and accomplished remarkable feats. The Xiongnu called him, the "Flying General of the Han Dynasty" and dared not invade the central plains because of him.

Li Guang led the army into battles even when he was very young. He served as an official for forty years with a pay rank equivalent to 2,400 stones [a unit of dry measure for grain equal to 100 liters] of grain. He was incorruptible and always shared his bonuses with his subordinates. He always had his meals with his soldiers. He did not own anything that was not essential, nor did he care much about property. Li did not like idle chit-chat, and when he was with others, it was either discussing battle strategies or techniques of archery. When they were short of water or food during a march to combat, if water was found, he would not go near the water before his soldiers had had a chance to drink, and he would not eat if his soldiers had not eaten. People were willing to follow him and toil for him because he was always very tolerant and kind.

The famous historian Taishigong Simaqian took a quote from the book of Zuo, a commentary on the classics, to describe Li Guang: "He who conducts himself righteously, his orders would be carried out without the orders being given; he who conducts himself improperly, people would not comply with his orders."

Both Li Guang and his cousin, Li Cai, served as officials at the same time. Li Cai's prestige and moral character, as well as accomplishments, were all beneath Li Guang's, but his rank was always higher. Li Cai's pay rank was already 2,000 stones of grain at the time of Emperor Xiaowendi, under whom Li Cai served as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Dai. Later the title "Marquis of Le An" was bestowed upon him, and in Yuanshou Year 2, he was appointed the Prime Minister and ranked among the three top officials. Many officials and soldiers who were subordinates of Li Guang were knighted, but Li Guang was never given a noble title or principality. His rank never rose beyond the "nine officials."

Some practitioners of divination or cultivators may predict the future and foretell good or bad fortunes through observing changes of celestial phenomena. Li Guang knew such a person named Wang Suo. Once, Li Guang asked Wang Suo: "Does my physiognomy preclude me from nobility? Or is it just my fate?" Wang Suo said: "General, please think for a moment. Haven't you done something that you regret?" Li said: "When I served as prefect of Longxi, the Jiang People rebelled. I lured eight hundred of them to surrender. But I tricked them and executed them all in a day. This is the one thing that I lament the most." Wang said: "Nothing is more sinful than killing innocent people who have surrendered. This is why a noble rank has never been conferred upon you."

It is a pity that the illustrious general, Li Guang, did not understand the principle that "fate is determined by Heaven." A person's fortune and position are all obtained by exchanging one's accrued de (virtue). With his one mistake of massacring the innocent, Li Guang lost an enormous amount of de. It would take him a long time to pay back the karma he had incurred; how could he possibly be given a noble title and principality? A few years later, the elderly Li Guang got lost when he was following the Great General Wei Qing on a combat mission, and delays resulted. He was punished and eventually committed suicide in anguish. The several sons he had also died one after the other at rather early ages. His grandson, Li Ling, lost a battle with the Xiongnu and surrendered, and his mother, wife, and children were put to death by the royal government as a result. Li's family henceforth waned and finally vanished. This could only have been retribution for the one big mistake he made in killing the innocent.
