Former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada and senior MP David
Kilgour was invited by Lord Thurlow, former UK diplomat, to hold a seminar in
the Houses of Parliament on July 17 regarding the CCP's trade in organs
harvested from living Falun Gong practitioners' organs. The UK MPs who attended
the seminar appealed to the UK government to take measures to stop the CCP's
atrocities.
According to a report by NTDTV on July 17, the seminar was held in the Houses
of Parliament in London. Mr. Kilgour introduced the attendees to the report he
wrote in Canada, and answered questions raised by the MPs and media. He pointed
out that in China, since Falun Gong has been persecuted from 1999 to now, there
have been 41,500 organ transplant operations for which the CCP cannot account
for the donors. However, the allegation of harvesting the organs from living
Falun Gong practitioners answers this question.
The MP of the Liberal Democratic Party thought this investigation report was
very important. He thought the UK government has the responsibility to stand in
opposition to the CCP's behavior. "I think our government has the
responsibility to have the courage to tell the Chinese government that we cannot
tolerate this kind of thing anymore."
MP Helen Goodman, from the Labor Party, told the NTDTV reporter after the
seminar that she would further urge the Foreign Office to take action. "To
be specific, I think there are two aspects: one is to put the squeeze on the
Chinese government, another is to ensure the doctors and patients in UK will not
collaborate with this kind of thing."
Ms. Laura, a Falun Gong practitioner studying at Cambridge University, gave a
speech to tell the participants about the torture she suffered in labor camps in
China and verified the fact that she was forced to take a physical exam as well
as a blood test while imprisoned in a labor camp.
