My relative was sick with terminal stage liver cancer in late 2002. He came to Beijing and he was going to have interventional surgery at the 301 Hospital here. The surgery was going to cost between 60,000 yuan and 200,000 yuan. When he received the surgery notice from the 301 Hospital, however, his family got information from Peking University Hospital that he could receive a liver transplant there, and the date of the transplant surgery was set. The whole process took less than two weeks.

1. Ms. Lu from Xindian Town, the Licheng District, Jinan City, Shandong Province suffered from liver cirrhosis. She underwent liver transplant surgery at the Qilu Hospital Affiliated with Shandong University on June 24, 2005. The medical staff at the hospital told her family that the donor was a 28-year-old male death row inmate, executed in Hunan Province.

Ms. Lu's surgery cost around 200,000 yuan. Her body rejected the donor liver. The reaction was so serious that she had been hospitalized after the surgery for about six months before she passed away.

2. Dongying City People's Hospital in Shandong Province performed a kidney transplant around May 2006. Because of the limited technology level of that hospital, the chief surgeon was invited from a hospital in Jinan City. The details require further investigation.

Investigation Lead: No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with Jilin University Performs 23 Kidney Transplants within One Month

According to preliminary investigations, the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with Jilin University, formerly called the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with Norman Bethune Medical University, closely followed the wicked Party in destroying evidence after the Communist regime's harvesting of living Falun Gong practitioners' organs was exposed. The hospital established a new organ transplant center around April 2006. Fu Yaowen is the director of the center. The bulletin board at the hospital includes Fu Yaowen's professional experience. He has performed more than 500 cadaver kidney allo-transplants, more than twenty oneself kidney transplants, and more than ten live kidney transplants.

According to an incomplete estimate, the Organ Transplant Center at the No. 2 Urology Section of the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with Jilin University received 116 patients between April 22 and May 25. Eighteen patients entered the hospital between April 26 and April 27, forty-one patients entered the hospital between May 8 and May 12, twelve patients entered the hospital between May 15 and May 16, and four patients entered the hospital on May 23. Twenty-three of the 116 patients were known to have received kidney transplants. On June 2 alone, eight kidney transplant surgeries were performed.
