Liu Qingmei is a Dafa practitioner in her forties who lives in Daxiapo Village, Shidui Township of Anqiu City, Shandong Province. During the seven years of the persecution, she has been harassed, had her home raided, been illegally arrested, imprisoned, fined, tortured, subjected to forced brainwashing, force-fed and sentenced to a twelve-year prison term. Ms. Liu lived away from home for a long time due to the persecution. At 7:00 p.m. on July 14, 2006, a group of officials arrested Liu Qingmei and took her to a detention center in Anqiu City. Her husband and daughter went to the city detention center and requested her release, but were denied. The police raided Ms. Liu's home three consecutive times after arresting her.
