61-year-old Disabled Woman in Guangxi Province Persecuted Again by Police

(Clearwisdom.net) 61-year-old Ms. Chen Peizhu lives at 30 South Minsheng Street, Longlin County, Guangxi Province. When she was young, she contracted polio and had muscular atrophy in the right leg. She could not walk, and crawled on the ground. When she grew up, she had several major surgeries. Her pelvis and leg could be upright only with the support of a steel board. It was very hard for her to walk.

Since she started to practice Falun Dafa, her problem improved a lot. Previously, she walked with a crutch or with others' help. Now she can walk a kilometer by herself without crutch. She is even able to make living by doing some small business. In 1998, when the county suffered the worst flood disaster in 100 years, she donated items valued at 420 yuan to disaster areas even though she was not rich. It was because she felt she benefited from practicing Falun Dafa and she should help other fellow villagers in disaster areas. The fact that a disabled woman was able to do this had very a big effect in the local area. Some reporters went to interview her, intending to report that what she did was a result of the CCP's education. Ms. Chen Peizhu frankly told them that her actions were because she practiced Falun Dafa, as the cultivation of Falun Dafa can lead human hearts to kindness and improve morality. She also told the reporters that if they could not report the truth, they should not make a false report.

On November 18, 2002, Ms. Chen Peizhu was arrested and secretly held in the Nation Hotel because she clarified the truth to the public. During the interrogation, the police cursed her. She stood by holding onto a table, but the police kicked her down to the ground. She gradually stood up and was kicked to the ground again.

In order to destroy her will, the police covered her eyes with cloth and drove her around town once, then they threatened to send her to a labor camp in Baise. Despite their ruthless tactics, she did not give up her belief in Falun Dafa. Therefore, she was illegally sentenced to four years' imprisonment; yet many prisons refused to accept her because of her disability, so she was detained in the Longlin County Detention Center. The prison cell was very cold and damp. Six months later, she felt a lot of pain in the waist and legs. She could not move at all, and neither could she use the toilet by herself. Under such a condition, the police department had to release her. Through practicing Falun Dafa, she quickly recovered and could take care of herself.

On the night of June 4, 2006, about a dozen policemen broke into her home, illegally searched her home, and arrested her. The police shouted: "Chen Peizhu, we will keep you in prison forever." To date, Ms. Chen Peizhu has been detained for more than a month. The 610 Office and the police department staff do not allow her family members to visit her and block any information about her coming from the detention center.
