(Clearwisdom.net) Today is May 13! Today, fourteen years ago, our revered Master gave Dafa to the world, saving and setting countless sentient beings free. Mankind in the future will sing praises on that day and remember what Master gave to sentient beings.

To memorialize this day and thank Master for benevolently saving sentient beings, Falun Dafa practitioners designated May 13 as "World Falun Dafa Day." Today is also Master's birthday. Let's celebrate together, wishing Master a happy birthday.

Because of Master bringing Dafa to the world, sentient beings in this universe are saved and can live. "Everything is reborn." All sentient beings respect the saving grace of Dafa. All Faun Dafa practitioners treasure this day even more. Celebration activities are taking place all over the world.

Practitioners from Penghu celebrated near the skating rink at Guanyin Ting. That place has fireworks every summer and is crowded with people from local and other areas. We prepared a 20-minute exercise demonstration and a film introducing Falun Dafa. Practitioners made small paper lotus flowers, and some practitioners wrote out their cultivation stories. We expressed through our words and actions the beauty and glory of Dafa.

I am a practitioner from Penghu and it has been seven years since I obtained Dafa. On this blessed day, I want to thank Master for saving us by writing of the early days of my cultivation, which I also want to share with fellow practitioners.

I became a Falun Dafa practitioner in May of 1999. I studied the Fa and cultivated my xinxing. Dafa purified me and changed me. I was reborn. Master scooped me up from hell and gave me all that I have today. I can't repay Master for all He has done for me. The only way to honor Master is to follow His teachings and do the three things well. A Falun Dafa practitioner during the Fa-rectification period also has to cultivate xinxing, let go of all attachments, and always look within. These are the tools Master gave us. This is the only way to ensure that we can return to where we came from, and be worthy of Master's saving grace.

I learned of Falun Dafa through a media article. It was my greatest fortune to hear the words, "Falun Gong." When I had reached the bottom, Dafa saved me. At that time, I was exhausted in mind and body. No doctor could find a cure. A fish bone had been stuck in my throat for quite a while. It was difficult for me to swallow my own saliva. I went to several specialists, but doctors could not find any bones. It got worse and worse. I prayed, but it did not give me any relief. From Chinese medicines that were supposed to melt bones, to carrying talismans, I had tried everything, but to no avail.

Also, because of osteoporosis, and constantly working with my hands, both of my hands were becoming disabled. I had steroid injections daily. I had to work. I couldn't live and couldn't die. Mental pressures made me suffer from depression in addition to my other ailments. I was ill, in a bad mood, and I couldn't deal with my family. What kind of life was it? I thought of suicide, to end this life.

After I studied the Fa, I realized that all that was karma. I had to pay a debt, so how could doctors treat it! I had been using human understanding to look at my problems. My view was from selfishness. I was not thinking of others. Something had happened between my children and I, and we were like strangers. Then I blamed the children and felt that they were rebellious and ungrateful despite their parent's generosity. It's hard to put in words the pain I felt at that time. But when I read Zhuan Falun I suddenly understood everything. Tears rolled down my face.

After I began to practice Falun Gong and before I read all of the Dafa books, I suddenly realized that my throat problem was gone - yet, I did not know when it happened. When I realized that I was cured, I was so surprised. Master is so great. I had tried all kinds of methods and nothing worked. Now I only read a book and it was healed even before I realized it.

As soon as I heard of Dafa, I decided that nothing could stop me from being a firm practitioner. Every day after work I read three lectures in Zhuan Falun, and went to the practice site to do the exercises in the evening. My body was purified within the shortest time. No one could stop me from practicing Dafa.

I'm able to travel abroad for Fa-dissemination frequently. I understand the process of Fa-rectification and the task given to practitioners, as I am a Fa-rectification disciple. We went to Burma once. We were about 30 practitioners. During the journey I twisted my ankle and it became swollen. I couldn't walk fast and was left behind. A practitioner from Taipei noticed my foot problem and he stayed with me, and talked to me. I was very thankful for his attention. Suddenly a thought came to my mind: I came here for Fa-rectification. How could I let other practitioners take care of me? I couldn't delay the entire group because of me. This thought reminded me. I told my foot in my mind, "I have already accommodated you with small steps. I'm here for doing Fa-rectification and I can't walk like this anymore. I will walk with big steps and you need to help me with this." The moment I finished, my foot took a big step forward, which shocked me. The practitioner who walked with me noticed it and asked if my foot was ok. I answered yes, and told him I had communicated with my foot. He smiled and encouraged me. He said, "Your understanding of the Fa is good!" I said thank you, but it's Master who took the pain for me. The Fa said it clearly, "When Disciples Have Sufficient Righteous Thoughts, Master Has the Almighty Power to Turn the Cosmos Around." (Hong Yin II, provincial translation subject to further improvement). At that time I had been a practitioner for a short time only. That was Master's encouragement! It's the appearance of the power of the Fa!

After I became a practitioner, I improved my temper and my view of the world, and improved my xinxing. I thought of others first and everything around me changed too. My grandsons and granddaughters know that I practice Falun Gong, so they all call me Grandma of Gong Practice. Sometimes they do the exercises with me. Since they are very young, I tell them, "Falun Dafa is good," and, "Zhen Shan Ren is good!" It's such a beautiful sound to hear innocent children say these words! My son and his wife also support Dafa and they tell everyone that Dafa is good. They tell them that Dafa saved their mother and benefited the whole family. Our whole family is blessed by Dafa's grace!

My son works in a clinic. Patients who come to see him are usually very ill. He tells his patients to learn Falun Gong. He tells them how his mother was very sick and that all her illnesses were cured after practicing Falun Gong. He tells them to visit his mother and she will help them learn Falun Gong. My son also does the Falun Gong exercises, but has not started to cultivate. I hope one day he will become a real practitioner. I hope that all sentient beings learn Dafa if they are predestined.

One may not get a chance to practice Dafa in tens of thousands of years. Looking at the brutal persecution in Mainland China, it's hard for people to understand the cruelty of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They even remove organs from live Faun Dafa practitioners. I contact people daily and tell them to withdraw from the CCP. Sometimes they don't understand and say something nasty. But no matter what, we need to tell them the truth. I tell them that I want to help them and I'm really doing this for their own good.

Several times someone from the mainland does not understand right away. But, after some time, our compassion touches them and they withdraw from the CCP - not only for themselves, but also for their family members. I tell them how important it is to withdraw from the CCP, and that they would want their family members to also withdraw. I hoped that they would tell the truth to their family members and tell them what they need to do. Since they made their pledge to the CCP under the CCP flag, they need to express their wish to withdraw from it themselves and choose their own future. We don't look at how many will withdraw, but we hope everyone does. They need to say it themselves. They need to understand the reason and importance of withdrawing from the CCP. A few days later, their family members agreed and nine people withdrew from the CCP. I was really happy for them!

This is all for today. On this holy day, let us celebrate in the blessings of the boundless Buddha's grace.
