Additional Persecution News from China -- January 23, 2006 (19 Reports) (Clearwisdom.net) 1. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Guo Chengmei Arrested While Distributing Truth-clarifying Materials
On January 17, 2006, four officers from the Nanyingfang Police Station arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Chengmei from Zhangjiakou City. She was at that point distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials in the police dormitory at Xibagang of the Qiaoxi District. She is presently being held at a detention center. The police attempted to extort 5,000 yuan from her in exchange for her release.

2. [Changchun City, Jiling Province] Practitioner Wang Enguo Sentenced to Six Years of Imprisonment
On March 8, 2005, personnel from the No.4 Division of the National Security Brigade in the Changchun City Police Department arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Enguo and put him into the Tiebei City Detention Center. Wang was secretly sentenced to six years of imprisonment at Luyuan District Court last December. He appealed, but the second trial has not yet started.
3. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Yang Zhaoling Arrested
On January 19, 2006, practitioner Yang Zhaoling from Ganguantun Township, Guan County, Liaocheng City was arrested.
4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Jiao Shoutong Arrested
During the afternoon on January 20, 2006, practitioner Jiao Shoutong from Yangmu Village, Qingshan Township was arrested from home.
5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Pan Yifei Arrested
Practitioner Pan Yifei was arrested for distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party at the entrance to a shopping center in a downtown area. Pan's whereabouts are unknown.
6. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Wardens in the Guiyang City Detention Center Tortured Practitioners
Personnel from the Guiyang City Detention Center in Guizhou Province whipped practitioner Li Yinrui with a leather strip and force-fed him with hot pepper water.
Wardens tortured practitioner Ms. Wang Shangchun and Ms. Wu Xuelan with the "Dead Person's Bed." Their four limbs were tied to each corner of the hard wooden bed for 52 days. They could not take care of themselves after the maltreatment.
7. [Guizhou Province] Some Acts of Brutal Torture of Falun Dafa Practitioners at the Hands of Wardens at the Yang'ai Prison
Police poured urine over practitioner Li Yi's head because of Li firmly believing in Falun Dafa.
Practitioner Qu Jing was held in the Yang'ai Prison in Guizhou Province. In the heat of the summer in July, wardens tied Qu to the bed so tightly that Qu could not move. Qu Jing's back was covered with pus and blood, and was infested with maggots. Then the wardens put some cleaning agent on Qu's back and wiped it off with some cloth.
The wardens tortured practitioner Yang Hongyan to death.
Guizhou Province Legislation Department 8. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Illegal Arrest of Practitioner Yang Yuhua
Mr. Yang Yuhua, former Xishui County Falun Gong practice site volunteer contact person, was the general manager of the Shiyue Hotel. In 2000 he was arrested and sentenced to four years of imprisonment and released at the end of 2004. During work the morning of January 23, 2006, policemen from the county's National Security Team and some plainclothes officers arrested him from the hotel.
9. [Aohan Qi, Inner Mongolia AR] Practitioner Ma Qinghai Brutally Beaten in the Aohan Qi Detention Center.
When Ma Qinghai was detained at the Aohan Detention Center, policeman Miao Guangli often brutally beat him. Ma Qinghai's face bore the indentation of the abuser's shoes for a long time.

After personnel from the Yanliang District 610 Office had arrested practitioner Wu Xiaohui more than a month prior, they sentenced him to one year of forced labor again. Currently he is being detained at the Zaozihe Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Jia, over 60 years old, is a retired employee from the Xi'an City Plane Manufacturing Company. Before the 2006 New Year's Day, "610 Office" personnel arrested him from home and sent him to Fuping County for detention. We have no detailed information about him.
11. [Sichuan Province] Practitioners Detained at the Muchuan City's Wumaping Prison
Practitioners detained at the Wumaping Prison include Zhu Xuezhi, Zhu Mingchun, Chen Yu, Wang Haibo, Liao Esheng, Feng Bingyuan, Zhao Benyong, Zhu Zhaojie and Gong Wenyou.
12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Retired Engineer Fang Guangxiao Arrested
Mr. Fang Guangxiao, 66 years old, a retired engineer, lives at the Wenyuan Community in the Funan District, Chengdu City. At about 11:00 a.m. on January 17, 2006 while he was shopping, a group of policemen from the National Security Team arrested him and searched his house. Currently he is being detained at the Chengdu City Detention Center in Bei County.
13. [Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Jiang Cui Brutally Tortured at the Shandong Province Women's Labor Camp
An individual named Sun, a division head at Group 4, Division 2 of the Shandong Province Women's Labor Camp, is 45 years old, and deputy head Wang is 46 years old. They ordered six collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who turned against Dafa after torture and brainwashing] to torture practitioner Ms. Jiang Cui from Weihai City. They deprived her of sleep, and beat and severely verbally abused her. Practitioner Jiang Cui was allowed little sleep for over three months. She was later transferred to Division 2, and the drug addicts were ordered to watch her. Li, head of Division 2, ordered the drug addicts to beat the Dafa practitioners. Guards often forced practitioners who refused to "reform" to stand up for three months, until the practitioners' feet swelled up so severely they cannot walk. They also force-feed practitioners who hold a hunger strike and detain them in solitary confinement. They used all sorts of wicked methods while torturing the practitioners.
Zhao Lili, deputy head of Division 2, is 44 years old. She pours cold water on the practitioners in the winter and often beats and verbally abuses the practitioners.
14. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Chen Changying Illegally Arrested from Home
Police arrested practitioner Chen Changying from Jinjiagou, Shijiu from home around January 16, 2006. She has not returned yet.
15. Beijing] Practitioner Zhang Guiying Taken away from Home
Practitioner Zhang Guiying lives in Datun Alley, the Chaoyang District in Beijing. Police arrested her from home on January 17, 2006. She is being held at the Chaoyang Police Department Custody Center.

16. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Liang Chunyong Sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp
17. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners from Hanting Arrested
Practitioner Li Guifeng from Hanting, who worked at the No. 4 Middle School, was illegally arrested from school. Practitioners Li Chunmin, Ding Jiyu (pseudonym) were arrested while clarifying the truth on a bus.
18. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Brutal Torture of Practitioners at the Jidong Prison
More than 20 practitioners from different regions are held in Jidong Prison in Tuozi Town, Fengnan City, Tangshan, Hebei Province, and they are tortured to different extents.
Practitioner Mr. Guo Xiangyu from Qinghe County, Hebei Province was illegally sentenced to seven years in prison while being held at the Xushui Detention Center. He was sent to Jidong Prison on July 16, 2003. Guards at Group 5, which consist of a dozen teams, forced Guo Xiangyu to stay awake for four days and four nights. Guo Xiangyu was then detained in solitary confinement for ten months. During these ten months he was handcuffed for three months. He was forced to sit on a small stool for 15 days, which resulted in the dislocation of his spinal discs that put pressure on his sciatic nerve. Half of his body became numb and he often had dizzy spells and headaches. He has been held at the hospital in Division 4 since June 8, 2004. The doctor said he was going to be paralyzed, but the perpetrators from Division 4 refuse to release him.
Right now we know that more than 20 practitioners are being held at Division 2, Division 4 and Division 5, also called Division 5 Teaching and Research Office. The address is Box 2002 in Fengnan District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. One practitioner was tortured while on a hunger strike. He is on the brink of death.
19. [Shanghai] A Woman Practitioner Arrested by Police When Clarifying the Truth in the Street
At around 9:00 a.m. on January 22, 2006, a woman practitioner around 30 or 40 years of age was reported when clarifying the truth at the intersection of Fenggao Road and Huachi Road in the Putuo District. She was subsequently arrested by police officers from the Putuo District, who put her in a police car. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
