The Swiss Friends of Falun Gong Association was founded 2030 days after the beginning of the persecution against Falun Gong officially began in China.
Swiss Friends of Falun Gong was founded to expose the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners through a number of different activities. FoFG also will expose the truth of the persecution to the general public and will work towards the end of the persecution perpetrated by China.
Switzerland's Friends of Falun Gong intends to give moral support to the Falun Gong practitioners in China. At the same time, this association will participate in the worldwide efforts that call upon the Chinese authorities to end the genocide (as termed by human rights organizations).
In 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, brought Falun Gong for the first time to the public. Within a short period of time, Falun Gong gained increasing popularity in China, because of its positive health effects. As of July 20th 1999, China could be proud of 100 million Falun Gong practitioners. This number corresponds to 7.6% of China's population. This trend indicated the steady growth of Falun Gong.
People from all levels of society decided to practice Falun Gong. Everyone hoped to improve her/his health and desired from deep within to improve her/his morality and live by the principles, Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. These people decided to achieve compassion at all times, treat everyone well, and think of others first. Such attitudes affected China's population in all social strata positively.
Among the growth of goodness, those who have something to hide become fearful
China's former dictator initiated the inhuman persecution of these
kindhearted people by banning Falun Gong. He built, through misuse of Chinese
government assets, a system at all government levels, whose sole purpose was and
is to eradicate Falun Gong. He bares responsibility for the deaths of an unknown
number of people who wanted only to be good people. He is responsible for the
imprisonment of hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners and is
responsible for the torture of elderly kindhearted people, as well as children.
He is also responsible for the destruction of family units by tearing them
apart, because their members either succumbed to the persecution or became
homeless in order to escape persecution.
The past 2030 days that have passed since the beginning of the persecution
signify for millions of families unspeakable sorrow, and for millions of
children fear, nightmares and sleepless nights. These 2030 days mean for
millions of children the loss of parental support, because they were torn from
their parents' arms. These days signify for millions of children broken hearts
that can't be mended with tears. These 2030 days also mean for millions of
elderly people that they are alone without support, because the children who
were taking care of them were taken away by the persecution. They are on the
run, imprisoned, tortured or killed by people who no longer have a conscience.
These conscienceless beings, who are responsible for the bestial behavior of the staff in forced labor camps and whose orders have brought unspeakable sorrow in the form of humiliation and torture, have met in recent times as China's representatives with leaders from western democratic countries. They have the impertinence to present themselves as cosmopolitan and progressive.
None of us would wish to have to suffer one day, no, not even one hour, the inhumanity these innocent people are suffering. These practitioners have suffered incessant inhuman pain since the beginning of these 2030 days and yet the world community has not shown any serious effort to stop these inhuman activities.
Giving courage to the persecuted in China
Swiss Friends of Falun Gong will use many activities to highlight this persecution, clarify the truth to the public and work towards an early end of this unlawful persecution in China. This association will give moral support to the Falun Gong practitioners in China and give them courage, in the hope that they will be able to survive the persecution.
China is a signatory to the United Nations Human Rights Convention. Because of this, Falun Gong practitioners in China have the right to their belief and the freedom to meet with like-minded people. All virtuous people should condemn the state terror perpetrated on these innocents.
We are certain that Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, which are Falun Gong's principles, would bring only goodness to any society, no matter which country or political system.
Every human and every organization is given the opportunity to support the Swiss Friends of Falun Gong in their effort to stop this inhumanity.

(Clearwisdom.net) From March 24 to 26, 2005, practitioners in Denmark gathered in the capital city of Copenhagen during Easter and had group study, experience sharing, exercise instruction and correction of hand gestures.
On the third day, they conducted truth clarification in downtown Copenhagen and sent forth righteous thoughts in front of the Chinese Embassy.

Sending forth righteous thoughts in front of Chinese Embassy
(Clearwisdom.net) On Thursday the March 31 in Bratislava's Panta Rhei bookstore, the book Zhuan Falun was introduced to the Slovak people. Zhuan Falun is the main text of Falun Dafa and is the book that guides the 100 million Falun Gong practitioners through their cultivation practice. The book was launched this month and is now on sale in all good bookshops throughout the Slovak Republic.
The customers got to watch a Falun Gong exercise demonstration in the bookstore. The demonstration was accompanied by a voiceover talking about the history and health benefits of the practice and hearing personal testimonies from people who practice Falun Gong. They also learned about the persecution occurring in China at the moment.
After the performance the participants had many questions and the practitioners were glad to answer them. A reporter from Slovak TV was also present and he showed enthusiastic interest. His report ended up as a presentation of the Falun Gong exercises in one of the morning sessions on Slovak TV.

(Clearwisdom.net) From March 25 to 28, the city of Bandigo held a 4-day celebration in honor of Easter. Bandigo is northwest of Melbourne, and its Easter celebration is one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the state of Victoria. On March 28, a grand parade was held on the last day of the Easter holiday, and tens of thousands people came from all over Victoria to watch.

Practitioners rented a booth, where they displayed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials and decorated a "Petals of Peace" table. Some practitioners demonstrated the exercises, some distributed materials, some talked with visitors to clarify the truth face to face, and others taught people how to fold paper lotus flowers and told them the story of little Fadu, whose father was beaten to death by the police in China. The Falun Gong booth was often packed with visitors, who came to look, listen, and learn. They all wished practitioners luck and left with a smile.
A western practitioner applied to the celebration organizers to play the award-winning film "Sandstorm" to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. The film was then allowed to be played at a small theatre in the local library. The local Amnesty International chapter recommended a lady to come to watch the film. She asked a lot questions before the show and appeared to have many doubts. After the movie, however, she was deeply moved and said to practitioners emotionally: "The film is great. I now understand and I will talk about this with all the people that I know." In fact, every viewer of the movie was touched by the brutality depicted in the film. When the film reached its end, no one left before the music and credits were finished.
On the last day of this Easter celebration, people from far away as well as local residents came out very early to wait for the grand parade. The Bandigo Easter Parade is the second largest parade in Victoria, and has dozens of participating groups of different ethnicities and from various communities. Melbourne practitioners have participated in this parade three years in a row, and in the past once won the highest award. More and more people thus are learning about Falun Dafa. More than 80 practitioners participated in the parade this year. The practitioners' procession included a waist drum troupe, a graceful Tang Attire Dance troupe, a Silk-Sleeves Dance troupe, a Fan Dance troupe, and a decorated lotus float, as well as an exercise demonstration group. The parade route was about 5 kilometers long. Spectators along the parade route always greeted practitioners with warm applause, and now and then one could hear someone saying "Falun Dafa, wonderful!"
(Clearwisdom.net) On March 10, 2005, U.K. Member of Parliament John Robinson spoke in the British Parliament on behalf of over fifteen thousand people in the U.K. who signed a petition. The petition called for the rescue of Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted in China, including relatives of Falun Gong practitioners living in the U.K.
After being told about the persecution against Falun Gong in China by a practitioner in his electoral district, Mr. Robinson expressed his condemnation. He met a number of U.K. practitioners who had personally suffered violations of human rights in China. He also discussed with the practitioners in his electoral district about the petition for rescuing Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Mr. Robinson said, "They [Falun Gong practitioners] are put in jail only for their belief, which is harmless to others. It is wrong to persecute them. This is actually not just an issue of Falun Gong practitioner's rights. It's about everybody's rights. Everyone has the right to seek justice and impartiality. From this point on, I'm glad to be taking part in this. I feel that I must do something about this."
"Today, the signature collecting for this petition is completed. However, we will never stop calling on the public to condemn this brutal persecution."

U.N. commission should facilitate progress toward freedom, democracy
U.S. delegates to the U.N. Commission on Human Rights say that body's country membership must be reformed to prevent those who abuse human rights from using their positions on the committee to prevent criticism of their records.
"These folks get together and prevent, in collusion with one another, resolutions from being offered or being successful against them," said former Senator Rudy Boschwitz, referring to countries like Sudan and Cuba that secure membership in the commission through a selection process based on the United Nations' regional groups.
"The U.N. Commission on Human Rights, which sits in judgment of the human rights of others, must have some reasonable standards of membership," said Boschwitz, head of the U.S. delegation to the 61st session of the U.N. Commission on Human Rights. "This Commission must be made up of firefighters, not of arsonists," he said.
Boschwitz urged delegates from the commission's 51 member states not to leave Geneva without adopting a strong resolution on the situation in Sudan. "Nor must we leave this place without appropriate condemnation -- unless appropriate condemnations [are] more appropriately done in some other U.N. body -- of other abuses such as Belarus, Burma, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Zimbabwe."
The commission "must be part of the wave of freedom that is occurring at an accelerating pace worldwide," he added. "It should be a "facilitator of that wave -- not stand in its way or reduce its force."
Boschwitz and other members of the U.S. delegation spoke at a March 31 press conference in Geneva, where the 61st Session of the U.N. Commission on Human Rights is in the midst of its annual six-week session. Over 3,000 delegates representing observer nations and nongovernmental organizations, in addition to the 53 members of the commission, are participating in the session.

(Clearwisdom.net) On the March 8, 2005, Mr. Jiang Renzheng and Ms. Guo Rui, a young couple who are new practitioners, along with their two infant children, returned from Germany to China. Shortly after arriving, they were visited by officers from the National Security Office. The officers attempted to force them to renounce their practice of Falun Gong. They showed Mr. Jiang his own photos and private letters to demonstrate that they knew everything about him. They even went so far as to put pressure on his family.
After Jiang Renzheng and his family returned to China, they first visited Ms. Guo's parents. Nothing happened until they visited Mr. Jiang's parents on the 16th of March. His parents live in the village of Youzaizi on the edge of Benxi in Liaoning Province. On March 17th, three federal officers, including one division leader, one department leader and a chauffeur from the National Security Office unexpectedly showed-up with Mr. Jiang's father. They were then taken to a room in a nearby national railway training center, where they were questioned by the federal officers as well as a few police officers.
The National Security officers explained to Mr. Jiang that they had for a long time been well aware of he and his wife's overseas activities concerning Falun Gong. The officers also told him that they had waited for the right moment after the Jiang's arrival back in Shenyang before bringing Mr. Jiang in for questioning. They told Mr. Jiang that he should "admit" to everything that he and his wife had done overseas and then they offered him a job. The officers tried to deceive Mr. Jiang, telling him that the persecution of Falun Gong is non-existent, even though media sources overseas report to the contrary. They offered to organize a tour of the Masanjia Labor Camp in Liaoning Province. When Mr. Jiang refused to comply with their demands to confess, they showed him his letters to his father, in which he had explained the true circumstances of the persecution of Falun Gong, in order to demonstrate to him that they were in control.
Because Mr. Jiang remained unmoved, the security officers began applying pressure to his father. After some time his father couldn't take it anymore and felt he had no choice but to ask his son to "admit" to everything in order to prevent all three families from being ruined. Mr. Jiang still refused until his father threatened him with possible death. At that moment, Mr. Jiang didn't have the heart to see his father suffer anymore and gave the officers a short description of his participation in a peaceful demonstration in front of the Chinese Embassy in Norway. Then they pressured Mr. Jiang to sign a statement in which he would guarantee not to do anything that violates the "law." They promised Mr. Jiang's father that he and his son would be released as soon as Mr. Jiang signed. Mr. Jiang told his father he wouldn't sign, even if it meant being arrested and beaten. It was clear to him that the officers weren't going to let them go free even if he did sign. His father didn't believe him and begged him with tears in his eyes for his signature in hopes of having his son set free. In this way Mr. Jiang was forced to sign against his will. By then it was 2 o'clock in the morning of the next day, and their interrogation had lasted for 10 hours. After Mr. Jiang signed the document, the National Security officers still wouldn't release him, because their intention of forcing Mr. Jiang to give up his cultivation in Falun Gong had yet to be realized. Mr. Jiang's father vehemently protested their decision and accused them of breaking their promise. Meanwhile, the division leader again called his superiors for orders, as he had so often done during the night. At 4 o'clock in the morning, Mr. Jiang and his father were set free. Three hours later, before either of them had a chance to sleep after their long interrogation, the same three federal officers unexpectedly showed up to continue their interrogation.
Some time later, the director of the town and the party secretary suddenly popped in to "look after them" and spent all day with them. They kept asking Mr. Jiang what his plans were for the coming days and who he'd had contact with. As soon as Mr. Jiang left the house he was under constant surveillance. On the 20th of March, the division leader from National Security called him to arrange a "meeting", but Mr. Jiang declined the "invitation." He told the division leader that if he really wanted to speak with him, then he should come visit him.
About 11 o'clock the next day, the division leader, along with department leader and the chauffeur arrived. They wanted Mr. Jiang to tell them every detail of the activities he had participated in during his time abroad. Naturally, Mr. Jiang refused. Then the chauffeur showed him a photograph of his aunt and uncle, which had been taken by Mr. Jiang. His aunt and uncle are Falun Gong practitioners who used to live in Cambodia, but because agents from the Chinese Embassy had been following them, the United Nations helped them secure asylum in Norway. Mr. Jiang and his wife had their first exposure to Falun Gong while visiting his uncle in Norway, and they both began to practice this cultivation method.
Mr. Jiang said rather sternly to the chauffeur, "You have no right to pry into my personal affairs."
The chauffeur replied, "We know who you are. We have every right to examine all your affairs."
Then Mr. Jiang asked, "Yesterday your division leader asked if he could speak with me. Today, you want to examine me. What do you really want from me?"
The division leader replied, "You should, upon returning to your country, respect the Chinese Constitution. You are allowed to believe in any of the five major religions, but not in Falun Gong. If you practice Falun Gong, you are acting illegally and threatening the law and order of this country."
Mr. Jiang replied, "The Chinese Constitution clearly states that every citizen has the right to freedom of religion. I have read the Falun Gong books. They teach people to be good. Falun Gong is popular overseas. Why is it being persecuted in China? Which paragraph of the Chinese Constitution is the practice of Falun Gong violating? Furthermore, did you all know that the self-immolation in Tiananmen Square was staged? Nobody who really practices Falun Gong would commit suicide, because killing goes against the teachings of Falun Gong."
Three hours passed, and the division leader still hadn't gotten what he'd come for, and finally he gave up. As he was leaving, he told Mr. Jiang, "We will be in contact."
On March 25th, the National Security officers again visited the Jiangs. They asked Mr. Jiang if he had thought it over. Mr. Jiang replied, "There is nothing to think about. My position is crystal clear. I have nothing further to report." Then they spent an hour talking with his parents, trying to get them to help persuade their son to give in. Finally the officers warned Mr. Jiang's parents that they would be held responsible if their son tried to run. Before they left they made it clear that their patience was wearing thin. Since the first interrogation, Mr. Jiang's parents haven't had a moment's peace. Both of them are terrified and confused, particularly his father, who is deeply affected. He is under such psychological stress that he can't even recognize his relatives. Mr. Jiang's mother cries everyday behind closed doors and is extremely concerned about her son's well being and his family's future. Ms. Guo was spared the interrogation because of her two small children, yet one can only imagine the pressure she must be under. Even telephone calls with her friends are monitored. A good friend of Mr. Jiang told him that the national telephone carrier warned him to watch out for his friend who had just returned from Germany. Mr. Jiang wanted to go to Shenyang for work, but because the division leader threatened his parents that they would be held accountable if he went to Shenyang, so his parents continually insist that he not leave the house in order to protect themselves from punishment. Mr. Jiang is currently under house arrest.
As a young couple Mr. Jiang and Ms. Guo lived overseas for a few years. Because of a complication in the asylum-process, they were both sent back to China. Consequently all of their human rights were taken away as soon as they set foot on their homeland. Their immediate family is also suffering under this persecution. The Jiangs' future is uncertain and their fortune is every bit as tragic as the tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners and their families in China, who are all subject to the threats and persecution of the communist regime. We are appealing to the international community and all people of good will to consider this young family and to seek an end to the persecution, so that all Falun Gong practitioners can obtain their freedom as soon as possible.
Attorney Ni Yulan
On March 28, Beijing attorney Ni Yulan wrote a letter to thank Falun Gong practitioners for taking care of her in the prison. Because she helped residents in Beijing who were forced to relocate, Ms. Ni was arrested by police on April 27, 2002, when she was taking pictures at the scene. She was beaten so badly by the police of Xinjiekou Police Station in Xicheng District, Beijing that she was disabled. She said that without the kindness of Falun Gong practitioners who took care of her, she could not have survived the year in prison. The following is a transcription of her thank-you letter.
Ni Yulan: This letter is called "A Narrow Escape from Death: My Thanks to Falun Gong Practitioners."
I have been away from Falun Gong practitioners for two years, and have missed these kindhearted people often since I was separated from them. They are the ones who helped me to have a new life. When I was suffering from mistreatment by the police, they took care of me day and night. Because of their benevolence, righteousness and morality, they are always able to establish love and warmth between people. I also built a deep friendship with them in the time that I knew them.
April 27, 2002, was a dark day for me. My greatest misfortune of my life started on that day. At 11:45 a.m., I was taking pictures at the scene of the forced relocation of No.55, Sitiao, Xinjiekou, Xicheng District, Beijing. As I was putting my camera in my bag, all of a sudden, a man and a woman rushed to me like they had gone crazy. They viciously kicked me down on the ground without saying a word. My ankle was seriously sprained by their attack. They took my camera, which was worth US$ 600, away from me and put it into their own bag.
Meanwhile, the director of Xinjiekou Police Station, Xia Liguo ran up to me with some policemen. He did not ask about the robbery, but instead arrested me and took to the police station. Afterwards, I found out that the two robbers were the communist party secretary, Zhang Yulan, and a staff member named Mao Jie from the Relocation Office of the government of Xicheng District, Beijing.
At the police station, station director Xia instigated the vice director, Zhao Xijin, and other policemen to push me to the ground. They bound me tightly with a rope and then started to torture me. They beat me so that I had injuries all over my body. To cover up their vicious deeds, they took me away and hid me in the detention cell in Xicheng Police Station at midnight of April 28. My life was changed forever by those days.
I knew in my heart, however, that I would be safer in detention than with the police because many Falun Gong practitioners were also imprisoned there. They had been kidnapped from all over the nation. They were a group of people who practiced cultivation for both mind and body in order to improve themselves. They believed in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They were polite and gentle. Because of their belief, they were often mistreated, suffering physical and psychological torture.
I often saw policemen viciously beat them. The policemen also instigated criminals to beat them. They beat them mercilessly. Falun Gong practitioners often protested the illegal imprisonment by hunger strikes. In order to protect their relatives and friends, they did not reveal their real names and addresses. They were called by nicknames.
I lived with Falun Gong practitioners for one year. I was hurt seriously during that time, and they took turns caring for me day and night. Many nights, my life was endangered. It was Falun Gong practitioners who urgently asked prison doctors to treat me. They carefully gave me water and medicine.
These righteous people who practice Falun Gong were not conquered by the evil, but instead showed me love and concern. There is goodness in the world, but without those kind and righteous Falun Gong practitioners, I would never again have been able to find goodness in the world again. In this society, we need the Falun Gong practitioners' benevolence, righteousness and morality. After being released, I tried hard to find those practitioners who had helped me go through the difficulties, but I did not find them.
When I take a walk with my crutches, many people who notice me ask me, "How did you get hurt?" I tell them, "I am crippled because Xie Liguo, the director of Xinjiekou Police Station, instigated policemen to beat and torture me." They ask me, "How could you survive such a deadly attack?" It is my privilege to tell them: "It was all because of the kindness of Falun Gong practitioners. Without their caring for me day and night, I would not even be able to take a walk with these crutches."
My experience is unfortunate. I will be disabled for life from the torture that I suffered. However, I have built a sincere friendship with many Falun Gong practitioners. For my whole life, I will never forget the benevolence of Falun Gong, and the kindness shown to me. I whole-heartedly thank Mr. Li Hongzhi, who has taught so many to be good and outstanding Falun Gong practitioners.

This is the testimonial of an ordinary mother in China. During the past five years, while the evil regime has been persecuting Falun Gong (Falun Dafa), using harsh lies, propaganda and pressure, she cooperated many times with the officials of the Chinese Communist Party to persecute her own daughter - beating and abusing her in order to try to force her daughter to "reform". After many tribulations, she became sick. Her daughter compassionately cared for her and repeatedly told her the truth about Falun Gong. The mother cried when she understood how evil the persecution is and how her daughter has suffered.

The following is this ordinary Chinese mother's testimonial:
I didn't understand Falun Gong before. My daughter practices Falun Gong. In the beginning, I didn't want her to practice. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, when the police department and her company arrested and detained her, I always cooperated with the officials to try to force my daughter to "reform" - by beating, kicking and abusing her. Later, she had to leave home and wander about from place to place to avoid arrest.
After she left, I missed her every day. At the same time, I was also angry with her because she wouldn't listen to me. I saw other families in harmony, but our family was separated. When I was ill, there was nobody to take care of me. I blamed her for not being respectful of her parents, and the more I thought about it, the angrier I got. Now, I understand that that's completely wrong. My daughter treats me very well and with respect, since Falun Gong teaches people they should be good to everybody.
When she was wandering outside without regular food, she still thought about her mother. In order to help me understand the truth about Falun Gong and not be deceived by the lies, she picked me up from home. When I saw her, I was happy and angry. I didn't allow her to talk about Falun Gong, and I also abused her, beat her and cursed Dafa and Teacher Li. Several days after that, I suffered a stroke. I couldn't talk clearly, my hand and foot on one side were affected, and I couldn't walk. I needed people to help me go to the toilet and to eat. I couldn't take care of myself.
My daughter stayed with me and took care of me day and night. She told me the truth about Falun Gong. Because of her, I completely understand that Falun Gong is not like what is shown on TV. Falun Gong practitioners are all good people cultivating "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance," but they are illegally persecuted. They didn't commit any crime. The real criminals are those people who persecute them.
Actually, I know my daughter is good. Just because the Party is persecuting Falun Gong and she insists on practicing she suffers cruel torture. Our family life is disrupted and she is persecuted. I always worried about her losing advantage. I felt that other mothers were benefiting from their children, but I had to be in fear for my daughter and without money to see a doctor when I was ill. I blamed my daughter for all this, but I never thought about how she suffered more than I did. All of this is because of the persecution of Falun Gong. I treated her so badly, but she still took care of me.
Now, I always repeat in my head this sentence that my daughter told me: "Falun Dafa is Good," "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is Good." Some nights when I am sleeping, I shout loudly, "Falun Dafa is Good."
My health is becoming better and better. I can walk without help now. I am very repentant about saying so many bad things about Dafa and Teacher Li before, and doing bad deeds.
In speaking out about these things, I want those people who, like me previously, blamed their family members who practice Falun Gong, and even helped the authorities to persecute Falun Gong, to no longer do those foolish things that "make the family suffer, but make the evil happy." As long as we stand together with our family members and support them, the evil people will be afraid and will not do bad deeds against our family. Then we can truly protect our family and protect ourselves at the same time!
(Clearwisdom.net) I am currently in Grade 11, and I have been practicing for 8 years now. During the past few days, I hosted a postcard campaign in my school, as a part of the Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners -- Save Orphans in China campaign.
There is a club in my school called "Free the Children", and I thought it would be a perfect way to introduce the persecution of orphans of Falun Gong practitioners to my fellow classmates. I approached the club president and she agreed that it was a very important issue to address. I also approached the Chinese Student Association club president, and clarified the truth to them. They joined the campaign in conjunction with Free the Children.
At first I was faced with a lot of interference. We were supposed to run the campaign a couple weeks ago, but there would always be misplaced paperwork, or the teacher sponsor was not present to sign proposals, or the principal was too busy to talk to us. The club presidents and I were getting pretty worried as to whether the campaign would start at all. I realized that this was a form of interference to block sentient beings from knowing the truth, so I send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate it. I also decided to do most of the paperwork myself because it would be better done by a practitioner. I talked to the clubs' teacher-sponsors in person, and clarified the truth to them.
On the first day of the campaign, there was supposed to be an announcement on the PA to inform all students in the school. However, I had a feeling that it was not going to get read. So I went to the office myself and made sure that the announcement was read. From this, I learned that I should always maintain righteous thoughts.
The campaign was held during three alternating lunches, so we had to get volunteers to sit in our stand. It was very busy during lunch time, and we were located right near the cafeteria entrance. As soon as the rush of students entered the cafeteria they saw the big poster of the child holding a candle, and were attracted to our stand. The volunteers were all very enthusiastic. They called out things like, "Help Save Children in China!" to attract people's attention. Several volunteers took some postcards with them and distributed them to their friends in their other classes. Many people had questions about Falun Gong and the persecution, and I learned that it is very important they understand the truth after signing the postcards. Soon, all the volunteers could answer the inquiries from other people themselves.
After signing the postcards, many people told their friends to sign. One girl came into the cafeteria carrying a poster that was on the school wall. Then she signed a postcard and took another one for her friend, still carrying the poster with her.
From this experience, I realize that schools are a great place to clarify the truth, especially with the Save the Orphans campaign. It was very effective to tell individual stories about orphans and other children who are suffering, such as Rong Rong and Kaixin. Also, it is important to explain the relationship between these orphans and Falun Gong. This has been a good opportunity to clarify the truth to Chinese students who have been poisoned by CCP propaganda. Many of them learned the truth through this campaign, and also signed a postcard.
I encourage all young practitioners to hold similar campaigns and get their whole schools involved. It may seem hard in the beginning, such as overcoming the attachment of fear, but in the end, many sentient beings can be saved within our own cultivation environment.

A friend from Jilin Province told me over the phone today that a fellow practitioner had recently passed away. He was 75. It appears that during the two months he was "sick" in bed, other practitioners could have helped him out. After the incident, some local practitioners brought up the matter in their discussion. One person mentioned how poorly this elderly practitioner had behaved at times. During the conversation with my friend over the phone, while we both felt a bit sad about what had happened to the man, we both harbored a hidden conviction: "This won't happen to us, we can do better."
This reminds me of another group of practitioners living in another district of Jilin. One of them, named Ms. Xiao Wen, always treats other practitioners' problems as her own. Whenever she finds someone falling into trouble, whether it is due to personal karma or an external interference, she voluntarily helps the person out. If the problem is beyond what she can handle, she involves others in a collective effort, such as reciting the Fa to the person and using righteous thoughts. Her righteous mind and faith in Teacher and the Fa have helped many people, even in severe cases. With her help, one of the practitioners who gave up Dafa practice after July 1999 because of the persecution returned to the path of cultivation. One time Ms. Xiao Wen had to go help another person who lived some 10 kilometers away after work, and she was always prepared to stay overnight if she could not get home that evening. It seemed that if she wanted to find someone that needed help, Teacher would arrange for them to meet each other.
Personally, I feel that if a practitioner cannot reach consummation, it is because the person has not met the requirements set by the Fa at his level. Prior to the above incident, I often looked at my relationship with other practitioners as "them and me." I often had the feeling that they were doing better than I. This thought is splitting our united body. I feel that I should use "we" in all circumstances.
The elderly practitioner who passed away went to Beijing to validate the Fa after July 1999. He went to Beijing nobly and returned nobly. A police officer even escorted him home and wished him well in his practice. After returning to Jilin, he was taken into the police station many times, and every time, he walked out nobly with righteous thoughts. Police officers often escorted him home and wished him well. The man had a glorious past. When it comes to cultivation, however, it is a serious matter.
We all are Teacher's disciples, and we are a united body. When all of us do well, all living beings in the universe become a united, impermeable body. Only then are we worthy of the task of taking responsibility for every righteous factor in the universe, now and at any time in the future.
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 63-year-old woman, a Falun Dafa practitioner living in the countryside of Shandong Province. I started practicing Falun Dafa during the 1999 Chinese New Year. Before then, I was nearly blind and had many diseases. At the age of 25, I lost the sight in my right eye from an illness. At 35, my left eye started bleeding. This, together with a cataract, left me in a condition in which I could only a little light. Doctors certified me as a grade #2 disabled person. I suffered from stomach problems, rheumatoid arthritis, and gynecological disease. To remove two gynecological tumors, I went through surgery, which left me with frequent stomach pains and constipation. In 1998, I suffered from acute heart disease that caused severe shortness of breath. After spending all of my husband and children's savings, I could only lie on the bed to suffer the pain. There was nothing left for me but death.
Just three days before the 1999 Chinese New Year, I saw a doctor. The doctor said I needed to be hospitalized. Since I had no money, I could only go home. While I was feeling totally hopeless, a villager told me that, by practicing Falun Dafa, her asthma was cured. I said I wanted to learn also. I will never forget that day when I arrived at the Falun Dafa practice site guided by my husband to listen to Teacher's lectures on tape. I heard Teacher saying:
"I do not talk about healing illness here, and neither will we heal illness. As a genuine practitioner, however, you cannot practice cultivation with an ill body. I will purify your body. The body purification will be done only for those who come to truly learn the practice and the Fa." (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
I decided in my mind that I would practice Falun Dafa without hesitation. What's amazing was that, on the very second day, Teacher started cleansing my body. All the diseased areas of my body reacted painfully. But two days later, my whole body felt comfortable. Feeling Teacher's compassion, I burst into tears. After several days of lectures, I became a healthy person. It's our Teacher who gave me a new life! I will follow our Teacher no matter what happens.
After that, I went to the practice site every day with my husband to listen to practitioners reading the Falun Dafa books. After several days, I started to feel very unhappy that I could not read the books by myself. One night I had a dream. In the dream a person showed me an eye with a white layer of something on top of the eyeball. I thought I could certainly be able to read Falun Dafa books by myself. The second day, a fellow practitioner gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun. I gratefully accepted the book with both hands and hurried home to read it.
At the beginning, I could not see the words clearly, but I still tried to read. I stood up high so I could get close to the electric bulb, and I figured out the words one by one. My thought was that nothing could stop me from practicing Falun Dafa. Gradually, the words became clearer and clearer. Sometimes, I might stand there and read for hours and forget the time. On sunny days, I would read outside in the sunshine. I couldn't hold back my tears as I read. After I finished reading Zhuan Falun for the first time, I held the book in my arm and cried loudly. I thought, "Why did I get this book so late!" The second time I read it, the words became much more visible. After reading it three times - how amazing- my vision had returned! I could go to the practice site by myself, with no need to follow my husband's steps anymore.
In July 1999, the evil persecution started. Under the intense pressure, my husband was frightened and stopped practicing. But I insisted on studying Zhuan Falun at least two chapters a day. The township police head and the village security officer came to order me to turn in my Falun Dafa books. I said, "I didn't buy one." Two days later, the village security officer came again to take my book. I said, "I have none. How can I give you anything?"
One township official came to my home and tried to force me to destroy Teacher's photo. I refused. The official said that it was an order from higher up and tried to force me to do it. I said, "There is nothing wrong with following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I won't follow their orders even if you kill me!" The official was very angry. The villagers told him, "She is blind. You can't hurt a disabled person." The official thus left. I thought," Teacher has saved my life. How could I ever do anything to let our Teacher down?"
After my husband stopped practicing Falun Dafa under the threatening environment, he suffered from serious bleeding in his brain in September 2000 and almost died. After being hospitalized twice, he survived, but he had hemiplegia (total paralysis of the arm, leg, and trunk on the same side of the body) and could barely talk. He could no longer take care of himself. In the past I had been sick, and he took care of me. Now it was the other way around. When my husband was hospitalized, I accompanied him. Though the environment in the hospital was unfavorable, I continued to do the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises at night. I did the sitting meditation on a bed. Once I was doing the Standing Stance with my arms raised, someone asked me, "What are you practicing?" I said, "Falun Gong!" The person left quietly.
Fearing for the security of the Falun Dafa books, I did not take them to the hospital. Then I thought, "How wonderful it would be if I could remember all of it." But it's harder to do then to say. I didn't start to recite Zhuan Falun until long after my husband had left the hospital. Since taking care of my husband took a lot of my time, it made it harder for me to learn to recite the book. Each day, I made sure to read one chapter of Zhuan Falun, and then I began to recite Zhuan Falun. Studying one chapter took me three hours. To prevent myself from falling asleep, I stood on the bed to read and would sit for a while when I got tired.
The first days were very hard. My method was to imagine every word first, then point at the word with my finger. Word by word, sentence by sentence, and paragraph by paragraph, I managed to recite them one by one. Sometimes, when the paragraph was too long, I couldn't remember it, and I would shed tears. But I still would recite the paragraphs through my tears. At night, I put my copy of Zhuan Falun right above my head. If I woke up in the middle of the night, I would recite the book. If I forgot one section, I would check the book and then continue reciting. As I did family chores, I still kept on reciting. In this way, it took me almost one year before I could recite the whole book of Zhuan Falun. In the process, I also became enlightened to the many concepts in the book. Just as Teacher told us:
"The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts."

Since for decades I had been almost blind and had had various illnesses, I did not go out or know many people, and I did not like talking. But then Falun Dafa began to be persecuted! Listening to the slanderous broadcasts, my whole being cried out. I couldn't keep quiet. I bought pen and paper and wrote our phrases such as "Falun Dafa Is Good," "Truthfulness-Tolerance-Compassion Is Good," and short articles about the truth of Falun Dafa to let fellow villagers know the real situation.
In the past, I couldn't leave home by myself even in the daytime. Now I deliver Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials in the night without fear. There is always enough light on the road for me. I have clarified the truth of Falun Dafa to friends, relatives, neighbors, and in the markets. While I was taking care of my husband in the hospital, I told doctors, nurses, and patients how good Falun Dafa from my own personal experience. Since I have become a Dafa disciple, I have become an eloquent talker, and I can talk with anyone. This is really the power of Dafa.
Teacher told us that fellow practitioners should help each other. One fellow villager stopped practicing Falun Dafa under the pressure of the persecution. I talked with her and, as a result, she resumed the practice. Since she dared not to go out to clarify the truth, I took her with me. Under my influence, my husband also resumed the practice. He had lost his memory from the brain ailment. When he restarted the practice, he could not even read one whole sentence of Zhuan Falun. With my help, he now can read two to three chapters of Zhuan Falun at a time. From doing the Falun Dafa exercises, he can now speak clearly and take care of himself. He said that Teacher has saved him. Now he is using his own experience to tell people that Falun Dafa is good. We are determined to help each other to fulfill our duty in this final stage of Fa-rectification period.

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 23, 2004, with righteous thoughts, righteous actions, and the help of fellow practitioners I returned home after being released from prison. However, the evil perpetrators began another round of persecution against me. Leaders from my workplace made a deal with the head of the local 610 Office. They illegally canceled my "Work Contract" with my employer, and reported this to the labor department.
Back home, I thought that practitioners should cultivate openly and nobly. I did not break any law. I should not acknowledge any unreasonable decisions made by them. So, I went to see the manager of my workplace and asked to have my job back. The manager said, "You were sentenced to forced labor and are now serving your sentence outside of the labor camp. Your term is not over yet. You can't come back to work." I said, "I didn't break the law. It was Jiang Zemin and his followers that broke the law. Falun Gong practitioners are experiencing unfair treatment." The manager didn't change their decision for various reasons at the time. I remember Teacher once said,
"A Dafa disciple completely opposes everything arranged by the evil old forces. Clarify the truth thoroughly, eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts, save all beings, and safeguard the Fa with determination." ("Dafa is Indestructible," from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
"when it comes to a lot of the specific things you come across, you need to carefully think them over for yourself, and it's up to you yourself to come up with a way to resolve them. Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the truth and save people. Don't take a detour when you run into difficulties." ("Teaching the Fa at Washington, D.C. Fa Conference")
Then, I decided to go to work. The manager saw me and said, "You don't need to come. There is no place for you here. You should go home." I didn't take any notice of him. I stayed, recited the Fa, and sent forth righteous thoughts. Thirty minutes passed, and when he saw I hadn't left he said, "You are disturbing others by sitting here. If you want to make trouble, I will call the police." I thought that practitioners were not concerned with loss and gain, and would not fight for self-interest with people. But, when facing the tribulation imposed on us by the old forces, Teacher doesn't acknowledge it, and we mustn't either.
After studying the Fa and sharing understanding with other practitioners, I found my gaps. I realized that I should clarify the truth to people working in various departments concerned and tell them about the unfair treatment I had experienced. I first went to the local "610 Office." Coincidentally, the manager of my workplace was there too. I said to a 610 officer, "My employer has unlawfully canceled my work contract. What do you say about that?" The 610 officer wanted to shirk off his responsibilities and he said, "Your employer has canceled your work contract because you were absent from work. It has nothing to do with Falun Gong." I said, "It is ridiculous for the company to claim my absence, because I had always been on time for work, except for the days when I was unlawfully detained by the 610 Office. Now I have lost my job. This is persecution against Dafa practitioners."
The manager of my workplace said, "Why don't you go home now and wait until all departments work this thing out. We will let you know the outcome later." I knew that they were making excuses to get off, so I said to them directly, "I didn't violate any work regulations. You are simply using your power to pressure me. I have made up my mind to go to work every day." The manager said, "That won't make any difference. The company will not pay you, nor will you enjoy any employee benefits." His response did not change my decision.
Next, I went to the Department of Labor Disputes. I was very clear that Dafa practitioners would not depend on any outside forces. In the process of appeal, wrong ideas sometimes crept into my mind: I felt disappointment, even self-pity. Whenever this happened, I reminded myself to keep going, using righteous thoughts to eliminate negative thoughts. I thought that I have the Fa guiding me, and I have nothing to fear. When I thought of Teacher's words, I was full of confidence, and believed that everything would have a benevolent solution in Dafa. I kept clarifying the truth to relevant people and departments, and fellow practitioners also supported me by sending forth righteous thoughts.
As time went by, the attitude of the manager of my workplace changed a little. He asked me to sign a "Work Contract Agreement" and said that I would be allowed to go to work once it was signed. I refused to sign, because I realized that if I signed it, it would be like making a compromise with the evil forces. I didn't sign, so the manager still wouldn't allow me to work. But I went to work on time every day.
After some discussion with practitioners, we realized that we should clarify the truth in a greater depth. So I wrote an "open letter," sharing all the beneficial experiences I had in cultivating Dafa. I sent the letter to the heads of all departments, and read it to co-workers. After the manager of my workplace heard of the open letter, he threatened me, "If you dare to spread Falun Gong material again, I will not let you off so easily." Several days later, a National Security officer came to me and asked who wrote the letter for me and where I had it printed. I said, "I wrote the letter, of course." He then threatened to report me to the labor camp.
A long time went by and the manager of my workplace still refused to allow me to return to work. I felt very upset and even wanted to give up. The idea of practicing Falun Gong at home and not going to work started to sound very appealing. But I realized that preventing me from going to work was the old forces' arrangement.
When the manager found out that I still refused to sign the "Work Contract Agreement," he tried another trick. He suggested that I hand in a work application, stating my family's financial difficulty, and once I have done that I would be allowed to work. The kind-hearted co-workers and my family members all urged me to write the application. Again, I felt enormous pressure. But I remembered Teacher's words. I, together with fellow practitioners, insisted on doing things according to the Fa to destroy the old forces' arrangements. Together, we went to the local Civil Complaint Office, the local court, the labor union, the Department of Labor Dispute, and various other places. We clarified the truth to people and discussed my job situation. Practitioners from overseas also called people in charge of this matter, which severely frightened those doing evil.
A few months passed and gradually, the manager of my workplace changed his attitude. Before the Chinese New Year, they paid my salary and benefits for the past few months. My co-workers' attitude towards me also changed, and they understood Dafa better than before. Teacher said,
"The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts."

My experience has once again validated the power of Dafa. As long as Dafa practitioners believe in Teacher, believe in Dafa, and do the three things well, everything will be taken care of. The evil persecution will not work.
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a new practitioner who started the practice of Falun Dafa less than a year ago. One day during the first lunar month of 2003 I discovered a lump on my left breast. My husband brought me to the Harbin No. 2 Hospital for a diagnosis. The examination revealed that I had cancer in my left breast, and I immediately arranged for and underwent hospitalization and surgery.
When surgery site began to heal I started chemo-therapy and radiation treatment. During those days I not only spent all my savings of about 40,000 yuan, but also suffered the torture of illness. At around the end of July 2003, the treatments were ending, and the doctor told me to go home and rest well. I wasn't feeling well at all during that time. I had a high fever, was pale, and had lost almost all of my hair. My white blood cell count was down from a normal 12000 to about 700. I endured the side effects of the medicines and the mental suffering. Days seemed like years, and I often couldn't sleep at night.
At my most difficult time, my two sisters who practice Falun Gong sent me the precious book Zhuan Falun and told me that only Falun Dafa could save me. At that point I started my path of cultivation. I saw the light and obtained a new life, and I resolved to steadfastly cultivate in Falun Dafa. I read Zhuan Falun and other Dafa books every day. Soon I learned the five sets of exercises, and practiced every day. I also kept reminding myself that I am a Dafa practitioner. I strictly followed the characteristic of the universe "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" at all times.
Miraculously, my body recovered day by day. I deeply felt the miracle of Dafa and its power. Like this, my body fully recovered. I felt light all over and didn't get tired climbing up the stairs. I truly became a different person.
At my family's encouragement I went to have a medical examination on November 9, 2004. The resulting indicators showed my condition was back to normal. The doctors and my family were happy. I clarified the truth to the experts and professors, telling them how I miraculously fully recovered, to a state better than a normal person, only because I cultivated Dafa.
Since my cultivation, for a year now, I haven't needed a single pill. And all of my medical indicators are better than normal. Falun Dafa has given me my second life. I feel from the bottom of my heart that Falun Dafa is truly great. All the medical personnel also felt that my recovery was miraculous. One of the professors said, "You should hurry up and use Master Li's Falun Dafa to save people."
My examination results helped my relatives and friends see the power and miracle of Falun Dafa. My children even solemnly thanked Master Li. Falun Dafa has given their mother a second life and a happy family.

Kind Thoughts Help Save them in a Car Crash
I have relatives who live in Yuzhou City, Henan Province. They are a couple in their forties, and are very nice people. I have clarified the truth to them about Falun Gong many times before. Thus they both know that Falun Dafa is great, and they also help protect Dafa practitioners. Several days ago, they came to visit me and told me a true story that they experienced.
One day before the 2005 Chinese New Year, the husband was crossing the street riding his bicycle. All of sudden a car came from the other direction and hit him. He and the bike flew more than eight yards. The bike's wheels were bent, and he landed face up. The wife came to the scene quickly, and said to him, "Let's tell the driver you are all right, we will not ask for any money from them. Why don't you try to stand up and walk around? If you are all right, we could let the driver go." He climbed up from the ground, and walked several steps slowly in pain, and said, "I think I am ok."
The driver was really scared, and insisted on sending him to the hospital. But the couple said, "It is all right. It's the holiday season, and you didn't do it on purpose. Please go, we will not ask you for money." The driver was really moved and wanted to pay the couple some money, but they refused. Finally the driver left his cell phone number with them.
The next morning, the husband suffered from terrible back pain and he could not get up from the bed. The wife took him to the hospital on a tricycle (the style used as a delivery cart, with a large area, usually filled with crates or sacks of the various goods being delivered, over the front two wheels). They spent about 30 yuan to get an x-ray of the back, and it turned out to be all right, so they went back home. At home the husband kept reciting, "Falun Dafa is great". Two days later, his back pain disappeared. He went back to work after the holidays, and is perfectly fine.
I told them, "Master said in Zhuan Falun: 'We'd say that a good or bad outcome comes from one thought. The difference in one thought leads to different results.' You said you were all right and did not ask the driver for money, and it turned out to be all right." The couple said in deep appreciation, "We knew it was Dafa's Master protecting us."
The Power of Saying "Falun Dafa Is Great"
Huzi is a worker in a factory in Buotou City, Hebei Province. He has heard the truth about Dafa from practitioners many times. One day after the first snow this year, Huzi rode his motorcycle to work. On his way he saw a giant pothole filled with snowy water. By the time he saw it, it was too late for him to put on the brakes or go around it; an accident seemed unavoidable. At that second, he remembered Dafa practitioners told him to recite "Falun Dafa is great" when in danger. So he said, "Falun Dafa is great."
Right away, Huzi felt a power pushing him and his motorcycle over the pothole, and he was safe and sound.
When Dafa practitioners visited the factory he works at again, Huzi told them this miraculous story. He also volunteered to follow Dafa practitioners room to room telling everyone about what happened.

Words From a Neighborhood Committee Director
A Neighborhood Committee Director in Jilin Province said, "The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) knows that everybody detests the Party, but it doesn't care. It still follows its own will and doesn't care what members of society say. For example, when we assign work, we prepare the reports about the assignments in advance. We have standard answers for questions about each type of work, but all of the answers are lies."
When talking about Falun Gong, he said, "I didn't report anyone in my area. They are all good people. I want no part of such wicked acts. The "self-immolation" was faked. However, I didn't show the truth-clarifying VCD about the phony incident to the community after I watched it. I was intimidated. In Tiananmen Square I saw plain-clothes police with white bags in their pockets. Whenever they didn't like somebody, they would cover the person's head with a white bag and abduct the person, just like gang members. They also searched visitors' belongings.
A Liaoning Province Guard's Attitude Toward Dafa Changes
Because he had been deceived by the propaganda, a guard from the Fushun City Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province often beat practitioners who were illegally detained there. Starting when the persecution began in July 1999, practitioners continuously explained the truth to him, and he gradually changed his attitude towards Falun Dafa. Recently, the guard met a practitioner who further clarified the truth to him, and he silently listened. Before leaving, the practitioner asked him to please treat the practitioners in the camp with kindness. He answered, "I know, treating them well is equal to treating myself well."
New Practitioners Make Copies of Zhuan Falun
With the progress of Fa-rectification, many people in the countryside have begun to practice Falun Dafa. In some areas, Zhuan Falun is in short supply. Liu and Feng, a young couple in Shenzhen City, began Falun Dafa practice just one month ago and commenced copying the book by hand. They read their hand-written copies and make more for new practitioners. Their benevolent actions inspired other new practitioners, and some also began to copy Zhuan Falun. This helped solve the shortage of Falun Dafa books in the region.

"This is especially so for the Dafa disciples in Mainland China: each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people."

The Chinese New Year is a traditional festival of the Chinese nation. Falun Dafa disciples in our local district seized this opportunity by going door-to-door delivering New Year couplets and the Chinese character "Fu." [Chinese people have the custom to display the New Year couplets and the Chinese character "Fu", which means "blessings," on their doors on the New Year.] At the same time, they distributed truth clarification VCD's. We clarified the facts to the people we met and told them about the beauty and truth of Dafa.
We did it with a heart to clarify the facts, validate the Fa, and save sentient beings. We coordinated well as one body. There are over twenty villages in our area. Once we finished delivery in the villages where practitioners live, we would go to villages with no practitioners.
During the delivery process, some people accepted the materials, and some people who initially refused the materials accepted them after we clarified the facts. For people who persistently refused to accept the materials, we also told them the facts. We told them that Falun Dafa has been spread to more than sixty countries around the world, and is greatly appreciated by the world's people. We also explained to them the truth about the self-immolation incident. We told them that Jiang Zemin and his henchmen have been sued for genocide, torture and crimes against humanity in international courts; that no persecutor of righteous faith has ever had a good ending; and that good is rewarded with good, evil met with karmic retribution, and so on.
When we first walked up to one house, an elderly man asked our intention. We said we came to deliver New Year couplets and the character "Fu". He said, "My wife and I don't need the couplets." We told him we are Falun Gong practitioners and the couplets and lucky characters were for free. The man said, "There is no such thing as free. I am over seventy years old and have never experienced anything like this." My fellow practitioners started telling the man the truth about Dafa. The man's wife was lying in bed, and their granddaughters and grandson were hanging wallpaper. I began sending forth righteous thoughts, and showed them the New Year couplets and the character "Fu." I said to the two granddaughters, "Why don't you hang these up? They will bring you true blessings. Treasuring Dafa will bring you true blessings." The other practitioner told them that reading aloud "Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good" with a sincere heart will bring happiness and prosperity to their life.
Before we left, the elderly man said to my fellow practitioner, "Dafa is good. Thank you. You cultivators are good people. You need to tell others the truth and let the truth sink in to their heads." Isn't this Teacher giving us a hint through this man's words? Teacher said,
"Gods are merciful and have the greatest capacity to forgive, and they are truly responsible to beings, instead of focusing on a person's actions at a given time. That's because gods awaken a being at a fundamental level, and enliven a being's Buddha-nature at a fundamental level. So looking at things from this perspective, you still need to step up your clarifying the facts some, and still need to do it in greater depth, do it better, and do it more solidly; you absolutely can't just go through the motions. Only when you do it earnestly can you save that many people."

When we clarify the truth, we need to let them know that we are really doing it for their benefit and that we are being responsible for their lives. Two female practitioners visited a family and told them that they were Falun Gong practitioners delivering New Year couplets and the character "Fu", and that the materials were for free. One man said, "You still dare to say aloud the word 'Falun Gong'? Do you guys know what I do? I am a police officer." The two practitioners replied while sending forth righteous thoughts, "We cultivate with the guidance of 'Truthfulness - Compassion - Forbearance.' Falun Gong healed our bodies and teaches us to be good people. It only brings benefits to our country. Freedom of belief is our citizen's right given by the constitution. The practice benefited us physically and spiritually, so we are bringing the beauty and the truth of Dafa to you. We are doing it for your good. We are doing a good deed. Don't you police only chase bad people?"
The police smiled and said, "I know that Dafa is good. I will keep the couplets and the character 'Fu'. Thank you."
In villages where there were no practitioners before, now there are people who want to learn the exercises and study the Fa. Our delivery of couplets and characters gave them the opportunity to obtain the Fa. We know very well that Dafa disciples are bestowed with heavy responsibilities and we truly need to take up these responsibilities. Teacher said,
"Dafa disciples, don't forsake the magnificent responsibility that has been bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification, and even less should you disappoint those beings, as you are now their only hope for entering the future. For this reason, all Dafa disciples, students both new and veteran, should get to work and begin comprehensively clarifying the truth." ("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 25, 2002, around 8 PM, I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door without any hesitation. Four policemen walked in. At the time, I did not have any fear. I thought, "It is not easy to meet all of you. Now that you all have showed up, it is a perfect time for me to tell you the truth." I warmly invited them to sit down and served tea to them. One police asked, "How come there are Falun Gong postings all over the place on the street? Did you do it?"
Instead of answering the question directly, I told them the truth about the entire situation of Falun Gong, starting from how much I suffered from my "terminal disease," and how I learned Falun Gong. I told them about my miraculous recovery from the diseases and my new life free from illness and medicines. They quietly listened. When I went to the kitchen to fetch hot water for them, they also stood up and went into other rooms. At this time, I recalled that I had left flyers on the bed in my bedroom. It was too late to hide them. Immediately, I started to send forth righteous thoughts and asked Teacher to make the flyers invisible to the police. Sure enough, they went in each room and came out empty handed. Before they left, they told me, "Since Falun Gong is good, please practice at home. Do not post the flyers outside."
After they left, my son came out of his room and said, "My dear mom, you scared me to death. We had many banners, self-adhesive postings and many truth-clarifying flyers. How dare you let them in before hiding the materials? You not only let them stay, you treated them with tea as if they were your friends." I smiled and said, "Son, I didn't think about the banners, I single mindedly wanted to tell them the truth so they can respect Falun Gong; they can be saved. Thanks to Teacher for blocking their view. Otherwise we would have had big losses." My son, a non-practitioner, looking at all the flyers said, "Falun Dafa is truly amazing!"
That same night, fellow practitioners and I worked closely together to post the flyers and banners. We did a good job, posting them at very high and visible places. We also distributed flyers to many people.
Later when I recalled this incidence, I gained deeper understanding about Teacher's words,
"The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things."

I did not have any fear. My own safety was not on my mind. All I thought at the time was to let them know the truth and respect Dafa, so they can be saved. Because my mind was pure and calm, the old forces had no gap to take advantage of. With Teacher's blessings, the dangerous situation turned out to be a non-event.

(Clearwisdom.Net) In the afternoon of January 30, 2002, the police of Nongan County Security Bureau forcibly took me from my work place to the local public security bureau without any excuse or legal procedures.
After I had been at the local public security bureau for about an hour, I requested to make a phone call to my home, because my family members did not know where I was. My 80-year old father had brain disease and could hardly take care of himself, and my husband was at work. No one was able to take care of my child after school. The security bureau refused my requests, no matter what I asked for. They then pushed me into a police car and took me to the Changchun City Public Security Bureau with my eyes blindfolded with a coat. They dragged me to the fourth floor and cuffed both my hands to an iron chair.
A few hours later, they started torturing me. They interrogated me about what I had done. I replied that I had done what a Dafa disciple should do. They then stripped off my clothes, leaving me in only my underwear. They shocked my breasts with electric batons. The electric shocks were too painful to imagine. I said to them, "Good is rewarded with good and evil with evil. You also have your parents and sisters. How could you do this to me? I am as old as your mother."
They refused to listen to my words and continued shocking my ears with electric batons even more exasperatedly. Both of my ears were swollen so severely that they turned black. One policeman slapped my face twice. I then began to continually send forth righteous thoughts. At that moment, the electric baton bounced back and the policeman shocked himself on the hand. Fearing being shocked again, this policeman threw away the baton, grabbed a one-inch thick iron bar, and beat my legs and hips to the point that my legs were covered with bruises and stains. He then started beating my arms and back. They tortured me for about two hours. Then they changed shifts with another two policemen. One of them beat me a few times with an electric baton again.
The police did not allow me to sleep for the any part of the night, and I was detained in the Changchun City Public Security Bureau until 4:00 p.m. the next day, when the police from my local public security bureau took me back to the Nongan Prison. I was imprisoned in the jail for about three months. Fearing that I would expose their crimes, the police did not release me. Later, I was sent to a forced labor camp with a sentence of three years of forced labor.

(Clearwisdom.net) I'm one of the many Falun Dafa practitioners who have been severely persecuted by the Jiang regime since July 20, 1999. For many years, most of my time was spent in detention centers and labor camps, where I was forced live an inhuman life, enduring all sorts of brutal torture. Because I suffered such cruel persecution and endured long-periods of heavy labor while getting up at 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. and not sleeping until 10:00 at night, my weight dropped from 133 pounds to 78 pounds. I'm still underweight. After reading articles on the Minghui website, I realized that I should document and publish the persecution that I was forced to endure.
I'm in my 60's and live in the countryside. I gained good health and my moral level improved from studying the Fa and practicing Falun Gong. Because of this, I will always want to practice Falun Gong. Isn't this the right thing to do? When Falun Gong was being attacked and framed and my Master slandered, how could I have stayed home? I needed to speak up for Falun Gong and for Master. From the township police substation to Zhongnanhai in Beijing, then from the Central Office of Appeals and finally on to Tiananmen Square, I made my appeals and then waited for the central leaders to give me a just reply. I was very disappointed, however, because their "reply" was to have me arrested and detained in detention centers and forced labor camps. I was treated as one of the criminals who "distrupt social order." In the forced labor camps, I was tortured in all kinds of ways, resulting in a seriously impaired state of health.
I had initially hoped to maintain good health and become a very good person, but for this I suffered inhuman torture. At night, my hands were tied behind me to the bedpost so that I could not sleep, or I was be made to stand with my hands handcuffed above my head, tied to the torture device known as the Death Bed. At three o'clock, I would be forced to stand at the door or window wearing only a sleeveless smock and my underwear, to endure the freezing cold air. Later, because I still refused to renounce Falun Gong, they again escalated my persecution by tying my hands to the side of the bed and shocking me with an electric baton. That pain was unimaginably intense, and I remember thinking that this was really hell in the human world. Just because I practiced the Falun Gong exercises, they beat my face with a wooden board, causing my face immediately to become swollen. Nevertheless, I said that I would continue to practice Falun Gong. Each night they were so afraid that I would get up to practice Falun Gong exercises that they tied one of my arms to the wall for over two months. During that period I could sleep for only two or three hours each night.
To protest the persecution I conducted more than ten fasts in the various places where I was imprisoned.
In the detention center, the police forced us to watch the propaganda "news" of the so-called "Tiananmen self-immolation and murder cases" that had been fabricated by the Jiang regime, so we continued to fast in protest. They then force-fed us twice each day by inserting a feeding tube into our stomachs and feeding us concentrated salt water. We were unable to regurgitate it and were also unable to speak. I had refused to eat or drink anything for three days, so the police deliberately forced me to run 3,000 meters (nearly two miles).
After long-term fasting, my health began to deteriorate, and it became extremely difficult for me to breathe. However, my mind was very calm without even a hint of fear. I recited "Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions." Just at that time, the magnificence of Falun Dafa was shown to me, and a Falun began to rotate inside my mouth. Immediately, I regained the ability to breathe normally. At that moment I almost shouted aloud, "Falun Dafa is great!" "Master is great!" "Falun Dafa is a righteous Way!" My heart began to cry when I realized it was our great Master and the Fa of the universe that once again had saved me and that had made me become even more unyielding in order to defeat one evil factor after another. The labor camp officials saw that I had remained steadfast, even though they had persecuted me so severely. They allowed me to take food whenever I wanted it, but whenever I simply refused to eat they began beating my face again.
When I refused to renounce Falun Gong in the brigade where I was originally placed, they transferred me to other brigades. One gang after another shocked me with electric batons during three separate sessions, recharging the batons between sessions. When they realized that they still could not make me renounce Falun Gong, they asked the original brigade to take me back. After I was sent back, the police there shocked me with electric batons again. At that time my heart was as solid as a rock and as stable as Mount Taishan without shaking a bit. Life and death no longer existed in my mind.
I enlightened to the fact that my resolute attitude was based on the solid insistence on reading the book and studying the Fa. In other words, it was Falun Dafa that had defeated the evil minions. Especially during my fasting, they never even treated me like a living being, much less a human being.
When I was down, the guard stepped on my head and the brigade leader stepped on my abdomen. They constantly cursed at me and even forced me to drink vomit. My front teeth became loose, either because of the force-feeding food or from the medicine. Once, because I was fasting, the brigade leader dumped a bowl of rice soup over my head, and the rice and soup dripped down my face. Each day I became a significant object of their persecution. I firmly refused to wear a prison uniform. They beat me and locked up all my clothes, so that I had no choice but to wear the clothing they provided. Because I refused to wear a prison uniform in the detention center, police officer Ma Shuang shackled my feet for seven days and seven nights. I protested the persecution by fasting and refusing to attend any of the activities they had arranged. I refused to sing, didn't join their events. I didn't even attend their flag-raising ceremony. They did not know how to deal with me, so they just let me be.
Because I insisted on practicing the Falun Gong exercises in the detention center and because they had already tried all their coercive tricks and failed, they allowed me to sleep by the wall so the guard would not easily see me meditating during the night. Afterwards, the detention center wanted to send me to the forced labor camp, but the labor camp refused to take me back under any circumstances. So the detention center called the 610 Office, which finally said to send home all practitioners of this kind. The 610 Office said it would be sufficient just to monitor these practitioners so that they do not go to Beijing and to allow these practitioners practice Falun Gong at home. So, just like that, they sent me home.

(Clearwisdom.net) While I was illegally detained in the No.1 Detention Center in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, I had contact with Dafa practitioner Chen Guijun for a short period of time.
Ms. Chen Guijun, 62, previously lived in a house owned by the Food Department in Chengdu City. Five out of six of her family members are Dafa practitioners. They have used all their business income to save people by clarifying the truth. Many people they spoke with have come to understand Dafa and have walked through the door of cultivation.
One of Chen Guijun's daughters was among the first practitioners detained in the Zizhong Women's Labor Camp in Sichuan when Jiang's persecution began. In that hell in the human world, policemen used violence to force practitioners to give up their beliefs, and brutally tortured them if they resisted. While dragging her by the hair, a policeman ordered a criminal inmate to drag her from the third floor to the first floor in order to badly abuse her. That night, they dragged her by the legs to the third floor.
After her daughter was detained for a short period of time, Chen Guijun was also put into this same prison. She went on a hunger strike and died as a result. In order to absolve themselves from any responsibility, the labor camp asked the local police station to carry her out of the prison and take her home.
In 2003, many practitioners were arrested from the group exercise site that Chen Guijun frequented. The head of the 610 Office in Chengdu interrogated her through the use of violence and said, "You are very difficult when you see me, so I promise you will be miserable after seeing me!"
Chen Guijun was detained in the No.1 Detention Center. She told the truth of the persecution, as well as her own cultivation experiences to the prisoners and the guards. Many of them woke up from being deceived and gave moral support, and began to treat Dafa and Dafa practitioners with respect. They began to truly admire the spirits of practitioners, who would rather die than give up, in order to uphold the truth with dignity.
Chen Guijun had been on hunger strike for over a month. She was so emaciated that only her bone frame was left and she could not be transfused. Chen Guijun told me, "If they release me to go home, I will ask my husband to hold me and go out to clarify the truth, and let those deceived people understand the true nature of this persecution. If I could clarify the truth to one person per day, I could clarify the truth to 30 people in a month." However, the authorities did not take Chen Guijun's dire situation into consideration, and even disregarded her appeal letter. The court sentenced her to nine more years in a forced labor camp!
They also forced the criminal inmates to hold Chen Guijun on a bench, leaning against the wall, while pretending to feed her soymilk, while they videotaped the scene. Chen Guijun did not actually eat anything at all. They fabricated the story. After they finished videotaping, they took Chen Guijun by car to the notorious People's Hospital in Qingyang District in Chengdu. This hospital is the den used to specifically persecute hunger-striking practitioners. Many practitioners died there. The practitioners who were sent there were all on extended hunger strikes, they could no longer be transfused, and were prohibited from being released back to their homes. At this facility every single practitioner's life was in danger. However, after they were sent there, they were forced to wear iron shackles and lay restrained on an iron bed, with one hand and one foot shackled.
Armed policemen secure the Qingyang District "hospital" entry doors around the clock. After I got out of the prison on hunger strike, I learned that Chen Guijun was persecuted to death in the Qingyang District "hospital." Before she died, her husband and children had sent clothes and goods to the prison many times, but they were never delivered. They also learned that Chen Guijun died in the Qingyang District "hospital." The police station took her body to be immediately cremated. They prohibited her family members from seeing her body and refused to give the family her ashes.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Tian Yuan, who lives in the Shuangyang District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, has been a paraplegic for 12 years. In 2002, she went to Beijing in a wheelchair to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. The local 610 Office and the police department regarded her as the main person to be monitored. In March 2004, over 20 policemen arrested and incarcerated her. On March 14, 2005, six persons from the police department and the Procuratorate suddenly came to Ms. Tian's home, and claimed that they were going to arrest her for handing out information about Falun Gong.
Ms. Tian Yuan, 37 years old, lives in unit 602, building No. 2, of the Limin Residential Area, in the Shuangyang District of Changchun City. She is a former doctor from Jilin Province's Jilin City Children's Hospital. Her breastbone was damaged in an accident, and her body below her arms suffered from paralysis. After the accident, she could no longer move and was without sensations. Confined to a wheelchair for many years, her body became very weak and she had many illnesses. In May 1999, by accident, she came across Falun Gong and started to practice it. Soon all her illnesses were gone and she understood the purpose and meaning of life. Though she was still in a wheelchair, her body and appearance seemed the same as other people, and she had a rosy complexion, even better than others. All who had seen her previously were very surprised.
As Falun Gong was illegally persecuted, in late February 2000, one day before the opening of the National People's Congress, Ms. Tian went to Beijing in her wheelchair to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. This shocked the staff of the local Liaison Office in Beijing and the local authorities. The local "610 Office" and the police department regarded Ms. Tian as the main person to be strictly monitored. As Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials were found in her home twice, the authorities incarcerated her mother three times, and illegally sentenced her to two years of forced labor. Each time she broke out with the help of righteous thoughts.
On March 8, 2004, the persecutors instigated over 20 policemen to forcibly bring Ms. Tian, in her wheelchair, to the custodial center. That same night she started a hunger strike having no food or water, as a means to protest. Five days later she broke out of the custodial center with the help of righteous thoughts.
People were quite shocked when the head policeman, Chen Yantao, died suddenly at the age of 39, the same night she was incarcerated. The local policemen understood this to be a case of retribution (It is a common belief in China that good is rewarded with good and evil meets with retribution), and were quite shocked. Since then, whenever the police sent people to her home to monitor her on any of the so-called sensitive dates, they no longer dared to touch her.
On the morning of March 14, 2005, six people from the police department and the Procuratorate suddenly came to Ms. Tian's home. The leader, Zhang Xiaoyan, said that the Procuratorate was going to arrest her for publicly distributing material about Falun Gong. This time the said they came to get a written record. Ms. Tian refused to answer any questions that they asked her. They left after hurriedly writing down several words.

In December 2002, Clearwisdom.net reported that, around November 20, 2002, the Heilongjiang Provincial Drug Treatment Institute in Harbin tortured Ms. Jiang Rongzhen, a 42-year-old staff member at the Cooking Utensils Market of the Jixi Municipal Coal Machine Company, in Heilongjiang Province, until she died. Her body was cut and bruised all over and had scars from apparent electrocution. There was a hole in the front of her head and a swollen lump on the back of her head. Further investigation revealed the details of how the Heilongjiang Provincial Drug Treatment Institute killed Ms. Jiang.
The Inside Story of How The Heilongjiang Provincial Drug Treatment Institute Killed Dafa Practitioner Ms. Jiang Rongzhen
On October 12, 2002, the Heilongjiang Provincial Drug Treatment Institute carried out what it called the war of "assaulting fortified positions." On October 13, because Ms. Jiang was not "transformed" and remained steadfast in practicing Falun Gong, she was forcefully placed in solitary confinement in the basement. Although it was very cold outside, the door and windows were left open and she was only allowed to wear shorts and a sleeveless garment. The police incited three criminals, Huang Qixian, Lu Peiying, and Zhou Lijuan, to beat her mercilessly. They beat her until she was on the verge of death. These three criminals dragged Ms Jiang from the basement to the quadrangle and asked her to write the three statements. By that time Ms. Jiang was already in a coma, but the three criminals said that she refused, so they continued to brutally beat her until they beat her to death. These three criminals then found Chief Zhang Yushu, Zhang Haipeng, Guo Tongxu, Shi Lianjiang, and Section Chief Wang. They all saw that she died, so they hurried to find a doctor. They then wrapped her body in a blanket and sent her to the hospital to be "rescued."
The people from the Heilongjiang Provincial Drug Treatment Institute kill Dafa practitioners. To heaven, their crimes are as huge as a mountain. They may escape justice in the human world but they will face heaven's justice. "When the time comes, good will be rewarded with good and evil will meet with retribution!"
Recent persecution facts about Dafa practitioners in the Heilongjiang Provincial Drug Treatment Institute
On January 1, 2005, the Drug Treatment Institute held a party. Before the party, Ms Song Guixiang loudly shouted, "Falun Dafa is Good!" She was dragged out of the meeting room, placed in solitary confinement, and made to sit on an iron chair. Yu Kun, Zhang Chunjing, Shi Shuai, and Zhao Wei handcuffed her hands behind her back and pressed her hands so they were turned in the reverse direction, which made Ms Song faint many times from the severe pain. For three days and nights, each time she regained consciousness, they further persecuted and tortured her using these same methods.
Police officer Liang Xuemei from the Heilongjiang Provincial Drug Treatment Institute also brutally persecuted Dafa practitioners. She forced Dafa practitioners who firmly and genuinely cultivated to sit in the iron chairs and tortured them. Liang Xuemei shouted, "Let Dafa practitioners sit on the iron chairs and don't let them get off of them." She also organized forced brainwashing, coerced newly imprisoned Dafa practitioners to study Buddhism or other materials antithetical to their practice and forced them to do highly intense work. For those who did not obey, she used more intense torture. Liang Xuemei has suffered retribution for her evil conduct. Her husband was implicated and had a traffic accident.

Since the persecution of Falun Dafa started on July 20, 1999, 610 Office personnel and police in Luchuan County, Guangxi Province, have been persecuting local practitioners with surveillance, arrests, home searches, detention, violence to collect evidence, beatings, brainwashing, fines, confinement in forced labor camps, and imprisonment. In the Luchuan County area, practitioners have been kidnapped or detained 106 times in the past five years and their homes have been searched more than 100 times. Practitioners have been sent to forced labor camps twenty times, three were sentenced, four were killed, and one was persecuted to disability. In addition, the local police have extorted uncountable amounts of money from practitioners and their families.
The following are cases of elderly practitioners who died as a result of the persecution.
Ms. Lu Guiduan, 53, from Hengshan Township, Luchuan County, suffered from high blood pressure for years, but her blood pressure became normal after practicing Falun Gong, and she regained her health. She was kept in a detention center and her disease recurred because of the imprisonment and mental pressure from the police. After being detained in the center for a month, she was sent to a brainwashing center for another month. Lu Guiduan died some time after she was released.
Ms. Chen Yongfang, 64, was retiree of Mapo Farm, Luchuan County. She had had multiple diseases and poor health before practicing Falun Gong. After practicing Falun Gong her diseases disappeared and she became healthy. Ms. Chen Yongfang was kidnapped in February 2001 and sent to the county detention center for a month. She was then kept in a brainwashing center for another month. Because of the brutal conditions in the detention center and the mental strain, her diseases recurred and she died soon after she was released.
Ms. Zhou Erpo, about 80 years old, had suffered from high blood pressure, heart disease, spinal problems, bleeding of her eye and partial blindness. After practicing Falun Gong, all of these illnesses disappeared, and she enjoyed good physical and mental health. She was no longer able practice and study the Fa in groups because of the persecution. She eventually died of mental suffering and depression.
Mr. She Huaiyan, 75, was a retired teacher of Luchuan High School. He was paralyzed and deaf as a result of a stroke and was unable to take care of himself. He was very depressed and had lost the will to live. His mental health became better after obtaining the Fa. The police arrested his wife, also a practitioner and the only person taking care of him, in November 2004. The police broke into his home when he was alone, searched his home, and took away his only Dafa book, Zhuan Falun. His children did not live with him and nobody took care of him after his wife was imprisoned. He died of starvation about ten days later.
The following is the case of a practitioner disabled due to persecution.
Mr. Wang Chun, 28, is from Hengshan Township, Luchuan County. He was arrested when he went to appeal in Beijing in April 2000 and sent back to the county detention center. He was determined in his belief of Dafa and went on a hunger strike to protest his treatment. The police broke his two front teeth when force-feeding him. He went out to distribute truth clarification materials in Guangdong in October 2001. The police chased him, and he jumped out of a building trying to escape. He broke his leg and jawbone. Once a healthy young man, he is now disabled.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Hongjin from Dayinpo, Lijiawopu Village, Nuanchitang Township, Huludao City, Liaoning Province, was determined to practice Falun Dafa. She went to Beijing twice to validate Falun Dafa and was persecuted. The day before the 2002 Chinese New Year she was held at Shaguotun Detention Center in the Nanpiao District and was so brutally persecuted that she was at the brink of death. She was released, but even at home she never recovered, and the police continued to monitor her closely. She passed away on June 6, 2004. Before she died, she was still telling her family that Falun Dafa is great. Her story follows.
Ms. Li Hongjin had always been in poor health. She never went to school. Ms. Li started practicing Falun Gong in January 1997. Because she couldn't read, she relied on listening to tapes to study the Fa and practice the exercises. Gradually all her disease symptoms disappeared, and she was very happy and grateful for Master's benevolent salvation.
Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Ms. Li Hongjin went to Beijing to appeal and validate Dafa but was arrested at Tiananmen Square. That same night she was incarcerated in the Nuanchitang Police Station and sent to the Shaguotun Detention Center in the Nanpiao District. After 20 days of illegal detention, she was released. She never gave up cultivation and continued to study the Fa and practice the exercises.
On December 25, 2000, she went to Beijing again to appeal for Dafa, and Tiananmen Square police arrested her. At around 8:00 p.m. on December 26, Nuanchitang Police Station personnel took her home and sent her to the Shaguotun Detention Center. The third day in the detention center she was tortured so severely that she developed an excruciatingly painful stomachache, which made her suffer terribly. Nobody paid attention to her. Her pain lasted for over a month.
On January 22, 2001, her stomach hurt so much that she almost couldn't bear it. At around 10:00 p.m., detention center personnel sent her to the Nanpiao District Hospital. At that time, Li Hongjin's daughter was also being held at the same detention center, but the supervisor didn't even allow her daughter to go with her. After they arrived at the hospital, the police assigned her a bed with a straw mattress without any blankets and then left. Nobody treated her at the hospital. When she arrived there, she fainted from the pain and didn't regain consciousness until the next morning.
Due to Ms. Li Hongjin's poor health, the detention center didn't want to keep her, so they sent her home. She never recovered but was still closely monitored. She wasn't able to publicly practice Falun Gong. The village officials harassed her frequently at home to prevent her from practicing. They even ordered her daughter-in-law to monitor her. Ms. Li did not have an opportunity to study the Fa and practice the exercises, which caused her health to deteriorate. At last she wasn't even able to get out of bed. Her family sent her to several hospitals, but nobody could tell what disease she was suffering from. After all these struggles, she passed away on June 6, 2004.

1. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Xu Baowen Tortured to the Brink of Death
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Baowen was arrested in Panjin City. He is currently being held at the Tieling Prison Hospital; the doctor told his family he is in critical condition. On March 21, his family went to the prison and asked for him.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Rongrong Tortured in a Forced Brainwashing Center; Others in Solitary Confinement
Ms. Gao Rongrong is currently being held at the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center.
Practitioners Zhang Lirong and Dong Jingzhe are being held in solitary confinement in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp where they are being tortured and brainwashed.
On March 17, Ma Yuping, Sun Shiyou, and Liu Qingming were transferred from the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center to a new Center in Shenxin to receive "education of the mind." Their families are charged a food fee whenever they visit.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Hu Huiqiu Tortured to the Brink of Death
Practitioner Ms. Hu Huiqiu, in her 40s, lives in Changchun City. Around March 10, the police, who waited outside a car factory, arrested her. She is currently being held at the Shuangyang Detention Center, also called the No. 3 Detention Center in Changchun City. She has been on a hunger strike since her arrest and, due to the torture, is in critical condition. The detention center authorities have notified her family.
4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Police Officers in Liuting Town Recently Arrested Three Practitioners
On the evening of March 14, practitioner Ms. Wang Dunhua, in her 50s, from Zhaogezhuang Village, Liuting Town, Chengyang District, Qingdao City was arrested for distributing truth clarification materials. The police also ransacked her home.
At around 6:00 a.m. on March 16, the police also arrested practitioner Mr. Ji Shangyong, around 58 years of age, and his wife. They arrested practitioner Ms. Liu Di in Nanqu, the Licang District, and ransacked her home. On March 17, they transferred Mr. Ji Shangyong's wife and Ms. Liu Di to the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City. Ms. Liu was not accepted because of her poor health; she is now serving her detention under house arrest.
5. [Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhongli, Employed at the Zoucheng Petroleum Transporting Administration Bureau, Forced into Homelessness
On February 14 and February 15, 2005, the police tailed practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhongli from Zoucheng City, Shandong Province when he distributed truth clarification materials. Officers from the Xuzhou Police Department ransacked his home and later arrested him. Mr. Zhang went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. Eight days later he was sent to a hospital. He escaped from the hospital with the power of his righteous thoughts and is staying away from home to avoid recapture.
Mr. Zhang was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor in October 2000. He was held at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp where he succumbed to the torture and brainwashing and renounced Falun Dafa. After he was released in early 2002, Teacher prompted him, and fellow practitioners helped him. He returned to Dafa practice around October 2003. He has since actively participated in validating Dafa and offering people salvation.

The police arrested practitioner Mr. Wang Peng from Changchun City around March 7. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Half a month ago, the Changchun police secretly arrested practitioner Ms. Hu Huiqiu. She is currently being held at the No. 3 Detention Center in Changchun City. She went a hunger strike at the detention center and is on the brink of death. As a form of torture, the perpetrators at the detention center hammered steel needles under Ms. Hu's fingernails.
9. [Chongqing] Practitioners Mr. Chen Changjun and Ms. Yan Guangbin Arrested
On the afternoon of March 15, 2005, practitioners Mr. Chen Guangjun and his wife Ms. Yan Guangbi were arrested. More than ten uniformed police offices and plainclothes policemen participated in the arrest. They were on their way to visit their parents in Gailanxi. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
10. [Maoming City, Guangzhou City] Practitioners Ms. Lin Yanmei and Ms. Yang Zhifang Sent to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp
On January 30, 2005, practitioners Ms. Lin Yanmei and Ms. Yang Zhifang in Maoming City, Guangdong Province were arrested and sent directly to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp, in violation of the Chinese constitution. Ms. Lin was sentenced to three years of forced labor and Ms. Yang was sentenced to one year of forced labor.
11. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Jiang Has Been on a Hunger Strike for Seven Days to Protest Illegal Arrest

At about 4:00 p.m. on March 15, 2005, the police arrested practitioner Ms. Li Lianjie from her booth in a market. The police also ransacked her home.

In February 2005, the police arrested practitioners Ms. Liu Jianhua and Ms. Cao Weijun. Both are in their 40s, and are from the Nan Coal Mine in Xilinhaote City, Inner Mongolia AR. The police arrested them because the practitioners distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Later, the police ransacked more than 20 practitioners' houses.

16. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Practitioners Ms. Guo Yingjie and Mr. Yang Chunman
During the evening on February 3, 2005, personnel from Jilin City's National Security Team arrested Ms. Guo Yingjie and confiscated several machines used to make Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Practitioners Cai Junping, Ms. Liang Biyan and Liang Shenping from Nanning City, Guangxi AR were sentenced to three years in prison (Liang Biyan was allowed to temporarily serve her term under house arrest due to her extremely poor health after a hunger strike). When the Chengbei District Court in Nanning City unlawfully tried the case in early January 2005, the judge did not declare the sentence because of a successful defense presented by the practitioners' lawyer. Afterwards personnel from the court threatened the lawyer with consequences for being disloyal to the Communist Party. In late March they secretly sentenced all three practitioners to three years in prison.
18. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Shuhua from the Shapingba District Arrested
On March 8, 2005, Ms. Yu Suhua from Ciqikou Town, Shapingba District, Chongqing was arrested at her home; her whereabouts are currently unknown.

Practitioner Ms. Hu Xiaozhen is from the Dongxihu District in Wuhan City. She went to Sichuan Province for temporary work on around March 10, 2005. Police in the province arrested her when she clarified the truth about Falun Gong. The police are going to send her back to the Dongxihu District. Her family members went to the province to pick her up on March 18.

21. [Beijing] Ms. Gao Guiqin from the Chaoyang District Tortured to the Brink of Death
Practitioner Ms. Gao Guiqin, in her 60s, from Beijing's Chaoyang District was arrested for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in the Chaoyang District during the period of the SARS epidemic in 2003. Afterwards, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor. After a few months of inhuman torture, her physical condition deteriorated to the point that she was on the verge of death. The authorities allowed her to be bailed out for medical treatment. Currently she is in danger of losing her life.
22. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Practitioners Ms. Wang Jiali, Ms. Sun Dejun and Ms. Zhang Jie Arrested Again
At around 12:00 p.m. on March 9, 2005, personnel from the Beilin District Police Precinct suddenly went to practitioner Ms. Zhang Jie's home for an illegal search. At the time Ms. Wang Jiali from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Ms. Sun Dejun from Beiguan and Ms. Zhang Jie were there. The practitioners at first didn't open the door but policemen broke in and forcibly took them away.
During the 2001 New Year, Ms. Zhang was sentenced to two years of forced labor for appealing in Beijing for the right to practice Falun Gong. A month after being released she was arrested and sent to a forced brainwashing center. In October 2003 she was arrested again and taken to a forced brainwashing center where she was tortured for over half a year.
In 2000, practitioner Ms. Wang Jiali was held in a detention center for several months for appealing in Beijing. In 2003 she was arrested and put into a forced brainwashing center. She has often been harassed.
Practitioner Ms. Sun Dejun lived in exile for nearly two years. Ms. Sun had appealed in Beijing and wanted to avoid arrest. Nevertheless, the police arrested when they found her at Ms. Zhang Jie's home and put her in a detention center for several months. Afterwards she was incarcerated in a forced brainwashing center so they could torture her.

In the middle of February 2005, Ms. Huo Junmei from Shijiazhuang City went back to Quzhou County in Hebei Province, her hometown, to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. On the morning of March 13, 2005, personnel from the Huangkeng Police Precinct in Qingxin County, Qingyuan City arrested practitioner Ms. Huang Jinrong when she clarified the truth about Falun Gong to local people in a vegetable market. She is currently being held at the county's Zhoutian Detention Center.
26. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Personnel from the Qinglong Police Station Broke into a Practitioner's House
On November 19, 2004, three personnel from the Qinglong Police Station, the Chenghua Police Department broke into Ms. Mao Suhua's home in the Shahexinju Residential Area and took her to the police station. When interrogating Ms. Mao, they told her that she had to write a Guarantee Statement. If she refused, they would not release her, but would instead send her to a forced labor camp. Because of such coercion, one of Ms. Mao's family members wrote the "Guarantee Statement" for her, after which Mr. Mao was released.

28. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Practitioner Mr. Fan Jinping Arrested
In the fall of 2004, policemen Guo Wanru, Li Youxue and others from the Security Team of the Wolong District Police Precinct arrested practitioner Mr. Fan Jinping from Nanyang City and put him into a forced brainwashing center in the Nanyang Political & Legal Cadres School in order to persecute him. Later they transferred Mr. Fan to the Shangzhuang Detention Center. The Wolong District Procurator's Office approved of Mr. Fan's arrest.
29. [Beijing] Two Practitioners Arrested in Zhongguancun
We have heard that on March 9, 2005, two Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested in Zhongguancun. Shortly afterwards, the Zhongguancun Police Station personnel ransacked Mr. Shen Shengying's home in the south residential area. They confiscated some Dafa books and a computer and printer. They arrested Mr. Shen and then released him the next day because of his poor health.
Mr. Shen is a retired professor from Beijing University. Personnel from the Haidian District National Security Team have been monitoring him for a long term. Police also constantly harass Mr. Shen and his family.

30. [Zhenping County, Henan Province] Doctor Wang Arrested at Home
On March 15, 2005, Wang Feng from Zhenping County's "610 Office" collaborated with some policemen from the Political & Security Team in Chengguan Town. They broke into practitioner Dr. Wang's home, ransacked the place and confiscated some of his belongings. They even put Dr. Wang in the County Detention Center. To date they have not released him.
31. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] The Persecution of Ms. Huo Ruizhi, Ms. Wang Yanling and Wan Zhong
Practitioner Ms. Huo Ruizhi, over 50 years old, from the Er'qi District was arrested while clarifying the facts about Dafa to people and distributing truth-clarifying materials in the street. She was tortured so severely at the Er'qi District Detention Center that she became disabled. She was sent to an orthopedic hospital but was later sent back home; she was unable to take care of herself. In spite of her disability, she is still under surveillance around the clock.
Practitioner Ms. Wang Yanling and Wan Zhong are still being held at the newly built Zhengzhou City Detention Center. Ms. Wang Yanling is still on a hunger strike.
32. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Xia Arrested
After 9:00 a.m. on March 10, 2005, personnel from Xianning City "610 Office," the City Police Department, the City National Security Team and from the Yihaoqiao Police Station collaborated with personnel from the Security Section in Xianning City People's Central Hospital. They arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Xia, a nurse from the hospital's Contagious Diseases Section. They even ransacked her home, confiscated a computer, two printers and lots of truth-clarifying materials.
At present, Wang Xia is being held at the City Detention Center for torture. Her teenage son is left at home without care.

Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Facts of the Persecution
Ms. Yang Lifen and Other Dafa Practitioners from Linyi City, Shandong Province Were Illegally Sentenced
In October 2004, for clarifying the truth, Dafa practitioners Yang Lifen, Sun Qinghong and Liu Nailun from Linyi City, Shandong Province suffered cruel torture after they were abducted by government officials and police officers from Hedong District, Linyi City. They were illegally detained at Linyi Forced Labor Camp. Policemen venomously beat Yang on the head and face with a leather belt. Later, they hid Yang and other practitioners in an air-raid shelter to carry out inhuman persecution. They hired ruffians to administer all kinds of cruel torture. Yang Lifen, Sun Qinghong and others were tortured to the brink of death. One of Yang's kidneys was severely injured. Yang Lifen, Sun Qinghong and Liu Nailun were illegally sentenced to three years in prison. It has been reported that Sun is currently detained at the Municipal Detention Center.
After a few close calls, astronomers have finally obtained the first photograph of a planet beyond our solar system, SPACE.com has learned.
And this time they say they're sure. Though some doubt lingers about the mass of the object.
The planet is thought to be one to two times as massive as Jupiter, according to the scientists who imaged it. It orbits a star similar to a young version of our Sun.
The star, GQ Lupi, has been observed by a team of European astronomers since 1999. They have made three images using the Very Large Telescope (VLT) of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile. The Hubble Space Telescope and the Japanese Subaru Telescope each contributed an image, too.
The work was led by Ralph Neuhaeuser of the Astrophysical Institute & University Observatory (AIU).
"The detection of the faint object near the bright star is certain," Neuhaeuser told SPACE.com on Friday.
The system is young, so the planet is rather warm, like a bun fresh out of the oven. That warmth made it comparatively easier to see in the glare of its host star compared with more mature planets. Also, the planet is very far from the star -- about 100 times the distance between Earth and the Sun, another factor in helping to separate the light between the two objects.
The discovery will be detailed in an upcoming issue of the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics. Neuhaeuser's co-authors include Ph.D. student Markus Mugrauer, who performed the observations, and Guenther Wuchterl.
The object appears to be "the first directly imaged and confirmed companion to a Sun-like star, and as such [would mark] the dawn of a new era in planet detection," said Ray Jayawardhana, a University of Toronto researcher who was not involved in the discovery but has seen the scientific paper.
Jayawardhana added, though, that some models used to estimate the object's heft show it could be tens of times as massive as Jupiter, in which case it might cross over into the territory, bulk-wise, of a failed type of star known as a brown dwarf.
Other recent milestones
Over the past decade, astronomers have found about 150 extrasolar planets. The vast majority have only been detected indirectly, by noting wobbles that the planets induce in their stars.
Earlier this month, astronomers announced the detection of a planet's infrared light using the Spitzer Space Telescope. But that observation did not involve a photograph. Instead, the system's total light was seen to drop when the planet was eclipsed by the star.
Late last year, another European team announced what might have been the first photograph of an extrasolar planet. That planet candidate has yet to be confirmed, however, because it's not yet clear whether it is orbiting the star or if it might be an object in the distant background. And even if it is a planet, it is an unusually large one -- several times the mass of Jupiter -- and it orbits a failed star known as a brown dwarf.
The object around GQ Lupi is clearly linked to the star gravitationally.
"The separation between star and planet has not changed from 1999 to 2004, which means that they move together on the sky," Neuhaeuser said. "In our case, we do have a normal plain image showing the bright star and the faint planet a little bit west of the star. The planet is only 156 times fainter than the star, because the planet is still very young and hence still forming, still contracting."
This object "appears to pass" the observational tests "for being a very low mass companion to its parent star," Jayawardhana said.
Familiar yet different
The picture of GQ Lupi and its planet is exciting to astronomers because the system resembles in some respects our own solar system in its formation years.
The planet is about 3,140 degrees Fahrenheit (2000 Kelvin) -- not the sort of place that would be expected to support life. Neuhaeuser's team has also detected water in the planet's atmosphere. The world is expected to be gaseous, like Jupiter. It is about twice the diameter of Jupiter. The mass estimate -- one to two times that of Jupiter -- is "somewhat uncertain," Neuhaeuser said.
The planet is three times farther from GQ Lupi than Neptune is from our Sun. "We should expect that the planet orbits around the star, but at its large separation one orbital period [a year] is roughly 1,200 years, so that orbital motion is not yet detected."
