(Clearwisdom.net) During the past 5 years, the National Security Brigade and the 610 Office in Longhua County have extorted a large amount of money from practitioners in the area. They have put practitioners in detention centers and forced labor camps, and have forced practitioners' family members to give them money or other valuables in exchange for their release on probation, or to serve the terms under house arrest.

Longhua County is well known for its poverty. People live a very difficult life in this mountainous area, and most practitioners in Longhua County are farmers. The persecution has made their lives even more difficult.

The following is a partial record of how practitioners in Longhua County have been illegally extorted since September 1999.

In September 1999, Ms. Li Fuqin, Ms. Yu Fengyun, and Ms. Ji Shuli were detained for 35 days for going to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. Each was fined 3,000 yuan and charged 350 yuan for what the authorities called "boarding expenses," altogether totaling over 10,000 yuan for the three of them.

In April 2000, Ms. Liu Shuzhen was detained for several days for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. She was fined 3,000 yuan and charged 460 yuan in "boarding expenses." In November 2000, she was detained for half a month and fined 4,000 yuan. In December 2000, Ms. Liu was sentenced to one year of forced labor, and was extorted out of 2,000 yuan so that she could serve her sentence at home. Within one year, Ms. Liu was extorted for three times that amount, totaling nearly 10,000 yuan.

In May of 2003, Ms. Jia Suxia was detained for 20 days and was later sentenced to one year of forced labor. She was extorted out of 5,000 yuan in order to serve her sentence at home.

In September 2000, Mr. Liu Xiangyun was detained for 20 days for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Dafa. He was later extorted out of 1,300 yuan. In May 2003, he was detained again for 20 days. After being extorted out of 6,000 yuan, Mr. Liu was sent to the Chengde Detention Center where he was tortured by being shocked with electric batons. In total, he was extorted out of 7,300 yuan.

In November 2000, Ms. Yang Shujie was sentenced to one year of forced labor. She was extorted out of 12,000 yuan in exchange for serving her sentence at home.

In November 2000, Mr. Dong Jingxiang was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was extorted out of 9,000 yuan and released on probation. Later, he was able to take back 2,000 yuan. His wife, Ms. Yu Fengyun was also extorted out of 3,350 yuan. In total, his family was extorted out of over 10,000 yuan.

In November 2000, Mr. Bai Lianzhong was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was extorted out of 9,000 yuan. Later, he got 2,000 yuan back.

In November 2000, Ms. Li Xianmei was extorted out of 2,000 yuan. Her husband was beaten. A color TV and motorcycle were taken from her home.

In November 2000, Ms. Qiao Guirong was detained and was extorted out of 2,000 yuan.

From 2001 to 2002, five brainwashing sessions were held, and 40 to 50 practitioners were forced to attend the brainwashing classes. They were extorted out of money and other valuables, and were charged boarding expenses amounting to 4,000-5,000 yuan.

In December 1999, Ms. Cai Shuqin was detained, dismissed from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), demoted with lower pay, and was fined 3,000 yuan. In 2004, she and her sister were sentenced to prison.

In 2003, Ms. Qi Lanying was detained and extorted out of 3,000 yuan.

In September 2000, Ms. Li Xiulan was detained for 7 days for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Dafa. She was extorted out of 1,300 yuan. In 2004, she was arrested, and 4,000-5,000 yuan was taken from her home. The money was being saved up by the family for an operation for her husband, who suffered from cancer. Li Xiulan was later sentenced to forced labor.

In 1999, Ms. Liu Xiaorong was sentenced to three years' imprisonment. After her release, she could not secure a stable job, and her husband blamed Falun Gong for it. One day he got drunk and called the police department to take his wife away. With her righteous thoughts, Liu Xiaorong got back home safely. The police later fabricated some charges against her and detained her for 15 days. They also extorted 2,000 yuan from her husband.

In December 2004, Ms. Chen Wenyu was detained for 4 days and extorted out of 2,000 yuan.

In 2004, Ms. Tan Guohua was detained. She went on a hunger strike and was released. Policemen extorted 2,000 yuan from her family.

In 2004, Ms. Bi Guiling was detained for several days and extorted out of 2,000 yuan.

The above list is just a partial record of how some practitioners were extorted out of a total of almost 100,000 yuan.
