People who have gone through severe cold weather yearn for the arrival of Spring. Though the ice and snow were still not completely melted, people's hearts were filled with festive joy. The green color was the main tone of parade, which brought the message of spring to the whole city.
The Falun Gong practitioners' waist drum performance, accompanied by the singing of "Falun Dafa is good," added joy and happiness to the whole activity. Some spectators enthusiastically ran up to the waist drummers' group to have photos taken with the Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners also displayed the beautiful and smooth exercises accompanied by the music of "Pu Du." At intervals during the exercises, some spectators ran towards practitioners to shake hands and have photos taken with them. Practitioners who distributed truth-clarifying materials brought the facts about Falun Gong to tens of thousands of people.
It was reported that about 300,000 people watched the parade. Wherever Falun Gong practitioners went, the spectators gave them warm applause. Mr. Sun, who was watching the parade for the first time, said to the reporter that he felt good seeing Falun Gong practitioners walk in the parade as representatives of Chinese culture. A Chinese woman who watched at the roadside walked up to the practitioners' group and applauded excitedly. Her pride could be seen clearly on her face.
Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin also came to participate in the parade. After the prime minister came back from his visit to China in February, he sent a letter to the president of the Falun Dafa Association, Mr. Li Xun, stating that during his visit to China, he had raised the issue of China's human rights on various occasions. He urged the Chinese authorities to face their responsibilities related to human rights.

Mr. Wang, who just immigrated to Canada from China, came to watch the parade with his wife and daughter. He said that he had been arrested and sentenced to one year of forced labor in China for practicing Falun Gong, and he suffered 280 more days in the forced labor camp after his one-year term expired. In order to try to force him to give up practicing Falun Gong, the authorities who attempted to "reform" him brought his two-year old daughter to the labor camp and asked the child to kneel down in front of him and cry "Daddy." The girl, who is five years old now, said sadly, "My grandma also practices Falun Gong, but she is in China."
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xin, who came early that morning from Ottawa to participate in the parade, said, "I came from so far just to show people that Falun Gong benefits people's health both physically and mentally. At the same time, I want to expose the communist party's lies, such as the staged self-immolation, that were fabricated to slander Falun Gong."
(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of March 13, Falun Gong practitioners from the Washington DC area participated in the St. Patrick's Day parade on Constitution Ave.
This is the second consecutive year that DC practitioners have participated in this event. Mr. Wang, a computer engineer, said, "Falun Gong has been accepted by more and more different ethnic groups. We are happy to share this health-improvement exercise with everyone. Falun Gong belongs to the world."
For St. Patrick's Day, the practitioners made a green banner bearing both the Chinese and English name of Falun Dafa. On the carefully decorated float, Falun Gong practitioners of different ethnicities and young practitioners performed the beautiful exercises. The spectators gave them warm applause. Falun Gong's celestial maiden dance team and dragon dance team also brought more color to the parade. When Falun Gong practitioners were passing the platform, the host announced that Falun Gong had spread throughout the world and thanked the practitioners.
Ms. Ye, who was distributing flyers, said, "I felt the people were eager to know about Falun Gong. The flyers were passed out quickly."
Every year, March 17 is a traditional Irish holiday to commemorate a Saint in history named Patrick. Usually, on the Sunday before March 17, many major cities of North America will have a St. Patrick's Day Parade. People dress in green to parade or watch the parade. There is another reason for the world to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It is also the time when spring is coming, so many people also call the green in St. Patrick's Day "The First Green of Spring."

Falun Gong practitioners appeal in Houston in pouring rain for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. The Homestead Hotel in Houston has been brought under scrutiny for refusing admission to Falun Gong practitioners during the appeal. (Clearwisdom.net) |
The Department of Justice has decided to investigate Homestead Studio Suites for civil rights violations in connection with revoking hotel reservations made by Falun Gong practitioners. Despite booking reservations a month in advance of an October 2002 visit to Houston by then-Chinese President Jiang Zemin, they were denied accommodation and unable to hold peaceful appeals next door to Jiang's hotel.
Plaintiffs in a civil lawsuit against the hotel applauded the DOJ action. "The Chinese Communist Party's tentacles have reached deeply into the U.S. and worldwide in its efforts to suppress practitioners of Falun Gong from exposing the persecution in China, they said in a written statement. "We believe the USDOJ's investigation will help expose Jiang and the CCP, preventing even more serious incidents."
The group continues to hold peaceful activities to increase awareness of the brutal suppression of the spiritual practice's estimated 100 million practitioners. Besides the persecution in China, there have been on-going reports of Chinese Communist Party interference in Falun Gong activities in the U.S. and other countries.
The civil lawsuit alleges that the hotel cancelled their reservations at the request of agents of the "Office 6/10," also known as the "Falun Gong Control Office," an operative of the Chinese Communist Party.
"Kowtowing to the Chinese government."

Plaintiff attorney Richard Ellison said, "What we have in this case is a big American corporation- the Homestead hotel chain owns about 150 hotels around the country- kowtowing to the Chinese government." The lawsuit contends that Homestead violated the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination against accommodation due to race, nationality, ethnicity or religion.
"There's no question in my mind that Homestead violated that statute," said Ellison.
The Justice Department action was announced by the Liberty Legal Institute, a Plano, TX-based religious liberties watchdog organization. The Institute noted in a statement that the fact that a preliminary investigation will be conducted does not necessarily mean that violations will be found. However, the Institute's Director of Litigation, Hiram Sasser, welcomed the investigation: "It is all the more refreshing to see the Department of Justice ignore international politics and place as a priority the religious freedom of its citizens."
Those who practice Falun Gong say it is a traditional Chinese practice of self-cultivation and a form of belief. While they don't call it a religion, they recognize that it falls under the category of religion for purposes of legal definition.

(Clearwisdom.net) An information booth set up by practitioners of the Chinese meditative movement, Falun Gong, attracted much attention at the Baden-Baden outdoor shopping center on Saturday. Followers of the movement simulated and demonstrated inhumane torture methods related to the general topic: "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in China." To this end, they had constructed a wooden cage in which a person was crouched to demonstrate a commonly used torture method.
"Hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been taken to forced labor camps and many have been tortured to death," reported one Falun Gong practitioner from Ettlingen. The practitioner further stated that it was not easy to explain why this is being done because the movement is not political and has about 100 million practitioners in sixty countries around the world. "We assume that the Chinese Communist Party became jealous and afraid of the great popularity of Falun Gong." In Baden-Baden, signatures were collected to petition for an end to the brutal torture.

(Clearwisdom.net) At a popular tourist area across from the Wall Street Trade Center, Falun Dafa practitioners set up a truth clarification site on a square stage. Several colored photos exposing the persecution against Falun Gong, two banners, an exercise mat and four to five practitioners made up this unique scene at the popular sightseeing spot. There were many European and Asian tourists, including Chinese nationals and students from China, who visited the site from Christmas to January 4.
Many tourists took photos with the meditating Falun Gong practitioners after taking photos of nearby scenes around the trade center. They also photographed the two banners behind the practitioners that said: "Please help us stop this persecution" and "Falun Dafa is wonderful". We believe these tourists will explain the scenes captured in those photos to their family and friends after returning to China.
Western tourists asked about the photos displaying the various torture methods, and the Dafa disciples explained each photo to them. Almost every Chinese tourist accepted truth clarification materials, including Mainland Chinese officials. The materials written in Chinese often ran out.
A male practitioner from Taiwan arrived on December 27, 2004, and left on January 1, 2005. He didn't speak good English but did his best. He often meditated for three hours at a time, sent forth righteous thoughts, and practiced the five sets of exercises. His actions really moved us. One day, when we were about to leave Wall Street, he said to us, "My leg ached three times in the afternoon, but I got over it three times. I experienced this in Taiwan, so I could endure it."
Other stories also made a deep impression on me.
1. On January 3, 2005, a European girl, around the age of seven, came to our site. She looked over all the torture photos and decided to sign our petition to oppose the persecution. But just as she was about to sign, she seemed to remember something. She said to me, "Can I ask my parents to come over?" I said, "Yes." She then called her parents and her two older brothers to come over. The whole family expressed great sympathy to the practitioners and signed the petition.
2. After hearing about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, a father and daughter from Taiwan signed the petition and offered to donate money. We explained politely that we don't accept donations and thanked them for their kind thought. He said that the CCP is very cruel and that it would definitely have a bad ending.
3. A European tourist came on another day. After reading the captions of our photos that expose the torture and our banners, he gave us a thumbs-up and said, "Good! Keep it up. I support you." He first learned about the courageous Falun Gong practitioners in Ireland and carried a deep admiration for practitioners.
4. On December 27 and 28, 2004, it was extremely cold in New York City. The temperature was below -10oC. Even the water that practitioners brought with them had frozen solid, yet every practitioner remained at the truth clarification sites. Japanese practitioners had long been in charge of the anti-torture exhibition site at 33rd Street. Even on such cold days, they stayed outdoors for more than two hours at a time. Although their fingers and toes ached from the cold, the practitioners still stood there in an effort to awaken the kindness and the sense of justice in the hearts of New Yorkers and tourists, and offer them the chance to choose a good future for themselves.
The selfless efforts of practitioners over the last six months in Manhattan have left many touching stories.. The many accounts of practitioners' perseverance and the positive response from the general public are too many to count.

(Clearwisdom.net)
If someone asks me, "Who is the most privileged person on earth," I would firmly reply, "I am."
Why would I say that? I say so because I have attained the Fa. Attaining the Fa has allowed me to recognize the truth of the universe. Now I clearly understand that Falun Dafa is good. I always know to look inside myself. I feel very honored to be able to attain the Fa. After attaining the Fa, I feel that I have largely improved in various aspects, and my life has been enriched immensely.
I have many good friends and teachers, and a healthy and happy family. My parents try to take care of my little brother and me in every way. In school, not only do I have the compassion and knowledge from my teachers, but also the companionship of good friends and classmates. Together with my friends, I can work on schoolwork or have fun.
Dafa opened up my mind and made me realize that just because a person possesses money and materials does not mean that he is necessarily happy, since he does not know how to use his wealth for good. If he does not know to be charitable and values his money more than anything else, do you think his soul is truly happy? Wouldn't it be empty and hollow? On the other hand, a person who is poor might not necessarily be poor. Perhaps he helps others, and knows the principle of giving to others in order to be happy. He would then live his life joyfully. Wouldn't his soul be very rich then? That person who possesses many material things, but has an empty heart, is the truly poor one!
Dafa has taught me what it means to be rich. Many people may think that it would be to possess money, and to own precious birds and animals. That is not necessarily incorrect, but looking at it from a higher level, being rich is not at all about possessing more material wealth, but instead to possess more virtue, and a pure and compassionate heart. Of course, regardless of whether in knowledge or manners in daily life, a rich person has a more intelligent mind, understands more, and looks at things with more wisdom.
That's how I look at being rich or poor. The next time someone asks me, "Who is the most privileged person on earth," I will still firmly say, "That is me, of course!"
Of course, I will also tell him why and what it means to be truly rich. I will tell him about my improvements after practicing Falun Dafa, and if there is time, I will also introduce him to Zhuan Falun. Then, he can also attain the Fa and benefit as I have.
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 10th grader. For the several years since I had obtained Dafa, I have conducted myself according to "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" and improved myself to become a better person. I am continuing to purify myself and making myself more rational. My grades have jumped up to be among the top 10 in the class, whereas I used to be last in my class. I was admitted a prominent provincial high school and recognized in my school for "moral character." All of this was the result of believing in Teacher and Dafa, and raising my xinxing as a part of cultivation.
My mom obtained Dafa in 1996 and I frequently went with her to a group practice. I was small at that time. I sometimes read, watched practice videotapes, played on the side or did my homework. When practitioners shared experiences with each other, I sat there and listened quietly. I did not have my Third Eye open, but I definitely believed in Teacher and Dafa. When the group started practicing the Falun Gong sitting meditation, I practiced with them. Once I felt such pain during the sitting meditation that I was in tears, but I did not give up and completed the whole section.
After the nationwide suppression of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, the environment for practicing took a drastic turn for the worse, but the persecution certainly did not frighten Dafa practitioners. They followed Teacher's lectures and new articles, and disciplined themselves according to the Dafa standards. Several people spontaneously established a practice group.
I repeatedly went with my mom to distribute truth-clarifying flyers. One night, we distributed a thousand flyers throughout a village and painted words that clarified the truth on walls. Later, many practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and my mom was one of them. She was arrested, detained, and did not come back, even at the Chinese New Year. I was just a junior in middle school then. My father had to work daily and could not come back to fix lunch for me. After a discussion with my grandma, she agreed to come and take care of me. I continued going to school like I used to, but life was different without my mom. After school I kept thinking that I should discipline myself with a higher standard like I did before, or even better. Although my mom was not around, I had Teacher by my side and had Dafa. I still remember whenever I walked out the door to school, my mom would tell me, "Remember, if others bump into when you walk, don't get upset or swear at others, don't strike back when others provoke you." "I know," I would reply as usual. I want to cultivate myself and had no fear.
At school I had a good relationship with my classmates. I treated them with compassion and kindness. I purposefully gave up self-interests on account of others. I did not compete or fight for personal gain. Unfortunately, I no longer had a group practice environment, not until my mom would be released from prison. My mother has been detained twice, which made me experience different cultivation states. I did something wrong, which I regretted, but no matter what I had done, I refused to acknowledge it and would do as Teacher has arranged.
Since my mother's release, my mom and I study, practice, and send the righteous thoughts on a daily basis and help each other improve. She told me how Dafa practitioners in prison persisted in cultivating Dafa and strove to establish a good environment. Those true stories inspired me, so I could realize my weaknesses. We spent a lot of our time memorizing Teacher's new articles. When she was cooking or cleaning the room, she would say one sentence and I would follow with the next. I memorized the article when I was walking. With my mom's help, I was able to memorize Teacher's Hong Yin. I frequently sent righteous thoughts when I was walking, helped my mom to pick up and deliver Dafa flyers to fellow practitioners for distribution, and hung up Dafa banners on the walls or trees.
The local police frequently visited and harassed us, and I negated their activities by sending righteous thoughts. When my mom was abducted the second time, the police searched our home. One came to my room and tried to take something away. I said firmly, "Don't touch that." As a result, the police left my room empty-handed.
One other time three police officers stopped by our home. They said someone reported Dafa material being present in my home, and they would conduct a search. I went to my room quickly and sent righteous thoughts. In the meantime, my mom told police the facts about Falun Gong in the other room. After a while one of them said, "Hurry up and let's go! Otherwise we will be reformed by them."
I remember a long time ago when my mom went to my schoolteacher to clarify the facts and handed the teacher a truth-clarifying CD. The teacher said to her, " I agree with freedom of belief and that Falun Gong is good; nevertheless, children should not practice, children should..." making a reference to my bad grades.
Mother came back and had a long conversation with me. She explained how important my grades are from the Dafa point of view. She said, "Having good grades is the best way for a student to validate the Fa, because you are a Dafa practitioner. You know that Falun Gong is good by studying and cultivating Dafa. The ordinary people who do not have the practice and cultivation experience would not able to see the goodness of Dafa unless your behavior mirrors that. If you are good and have good grades, they will say that you are good and Falun Gong is good."
After improving my understanding through Fa study, I committed to listening carefully during the class and completing all or almost all of my homework at school, and to study, cultivate and to send righteous thoughts after school.
Soon, I had vast improvements on my final exams. Classes for the final year in middle school would be rearranged based on the final grades from the previous year. I felt pressure and worried about my disposition. My mom realized that and exchanged understandings with me based on the Fa. I became clear that my plans were not for personal gain. I let go of the attachment and studied the Fa with a peaceful mind.
The next day at the school I was assigned to a better class. I was ranked the last in the class based on my grades. Six months after, my grade was among the top ten in the class. I was later admitted to a high school, which was also a good provincial high school.
At high school, I continue cultivating in Dafa, studying the Fa, sending righteous thoughts and clarifying the facts. Once, when a classmate swore at me, I replied with words from Teacher's poem "To Be a Human" (Hong Yin) and told him that swearing was wrong. My classmates marveled at my response and showed their respect.
I have realized that I would earn a better grade as a human being when my thoughts and actions are based on the Fa.
The above is my personal understanding. Please kindly point out anything improper.
(Clearwisdom.net)
Selfishness is a basic characteristic of the lives in the old universe. A Dafa practitioner must reach a level of understanding that is selfless. As cultivation proceeds within the Fa-rectification, my understanding about selfishness has also progressed.
At the beginning, when I had just begun to cultivate, I thought that selfishness was an act that put others in jeopardy for personal benefit, while selflessness was the act of letting go of personal gain. At time I felt that, as a human being, I was not selfish.
Later, Master Li mentioned in one lecture that our intrinsic nature is based on the concept of self. Then I realized that whether one is selfish or not is not an external representation, but rather a real manifestation of one's inner being. I also learned that our original lives, no matter from how high a realm they came, are not free of selfishness.
Some time later, Master Li mentioned in another Fa lecture that, for many practitioners, their cultivation and Dafa work were based on the concept of self and that they always considered, "What do 'I' want to do?" Through cultivation, however, they saw themselves as particles of Dafa and did whatever they ought to do as Dafa practitioners. At that point, I came to a deeper understanding about selfishness and realized that, whatever we do, we should not do it out of self-interest, but because it is what we should do as Dafa disciples.
In a later Fa lecture, Master Li discussed the intrinsic nature of the old universe and the characteristics of lives in the old universe, and I came to understand something new: In order to overcome the attachment of selfishness, to not resist when the Fa rectification touches our selfishness, and to assimilate and harmonize according to the requirement of the Fa-rectification are the requirements of the Fa-rectification for future lives. I also truly felt the magnificent mercy of Dafa and the beauty of lives existing unselfishly.
Now, although I truly understand the principles of the Fa, I have found that many times I still have to deal with selfishness. Master Li asked disciples to do the three things well. Whether we can do them well is a representation of whether we are responsible for the Fa and for ourselves. Taking responsibility for oneself and doing things that a Dafa practitioner should do is not being selfish. I understand this point. However, I often neglect another point. That is, in doing many things, my first thought is that I should be responsible for "myself": how can "I" do things well, how can "I" keep up with the progress of the Fa-rectification, how can "I" do the three things well, which things have "I" not done right, what should "I" do to make up for it, etc. So many thoughts centered on myself reflect a state that is not selfless, but rather a concealed selfishness. I then came to realize once more that whether one can consider everything on the basis of Dafa and only for harmonizing what Master Li wants is the critical measure of selflessness or selfishness. If one cannot get rid of selfishness, even though he may think that he is doing work for Dafa, he is still saddled with that concealed selfishness.
When I had written to this point, a thought suddenly came to mind, "Would 'my' writing be published?" Actually this is another incorrect mentality. First, even though an article for sharing and discussion is written about personal cultivation experiences, in the current of the Fa-rectification it is first an article for Dafa disciples to share experiences. It is not "mine." Next, the goal of writing an article is to share experiences with others, not for the purpose of being published.
Only by placing the emphasis correctly can we truly be responsible for ourselves and truly do the three things that Master Li asked us to do well.

(Clearwisdom.net) One day when I was walking down a street in Chongqing, I kept sending forth righteous thoughts. A military officer walked by, who appeared to be a Lieutenant Colonel. As he passed by, I saw, within the field of my righteous thoughts, a snake fall to the ground from him. The snake immediately went under my feet and attempted to climb up on me. I sent forth righteous thoughts and stomped on it. That snake then disappeared.
I realized right away that sentient beings, including military officers and government officials and employees, who don't know the truth of Falun Dafa, have been poisoned and contaminated by the spirit of the Communist Party. Their belief in it will bring them to a dangerous dead end. Military officers, government employees and Communist Party members should be our focus for clarifying the truth. This could save them, and it is especially important because they are the closest to the ones participating in the persecution. If they have a kind heart, they might be able to influence the perpetrators of the persecution, to stop their crimes and to win a better future for themselves.
The following is a personal understanding of mine: When many of the divine beings in heaven planned to come down to the human world to assimilate to the Fa, they didn't want to reincarnate as military officers, policemen or government employees. They wanted only to reincarnate as ordinary people who could be virtuous without too much pressure, because they wanted to be able to eventually return to their own worlds. They were aware that once the human world enters into the Dharma-ending Period, human beings would face the prospect of elimination as a result of moral deterioration. But gods told them, benevolently, that if there were no divine beings that would reincarnate as military officers, policemen or government employees, then human history would not go through that specific period and there would not be a time of Fa-rectification. It would be terrifying for the human world if only evil beings and demons reincarnated as military officers, policemen or government employees. That would bring serious obstacles for the Fa-rectification and salvation of sentient beings. When the divine beings reincarnated to the human world, those who reincarnated as military officers, policemen or government employees and the ones that weren't able to reincarnate as Dafa practitioners placed their hopes on those who had reincarnated as Dafa practitioners. They hoped that when Master spread Dafa, the Dafa practitioners would tell them about it. But what they mainly worried about and were most fearful of was that when that moment arrived, they would be restrained by the specter of the Communist Party, and thus wouldn't listen to the truth and wouldn't believe in Dafa.
I realized that saving military officers, policemen and government officials is our responsibility. We can clarify the truth to them in different ways. We can use the opportunities that arise when we visit friends or relatives. We can also use letters or emails, which are both good ways of clarifying the truth. Some government officials, policemen and military officers have been deeply poisoned in their thinking by the Communist ideology. Whenever topics that are detrimental to the Communist party get brought up, they turn resistant. So when we clarify the truth to them, we cannot be too anxious. We should remind them of the fact that we are cultivating to be better people based on the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance," and that we are being persecuted for no reason by Jiang Zemin's regime. We can give them some examples of Dafa practitioners' experiences of improved health and elimination of long-term illnesses. We can also mention the brutal persecution that is happening in the labor camps and prisons throughout China. Finally, we can also kindly ask them, "Why are these kind and innocent people being persecuted?" During the process of clarifying the truth, we should maintain a peaceful and compassionate mindset without being antagonistic. We believe that those military officers, policemen or government officers who reincarnated from divine beings will find their original nature of kindness during the benevolent truth-clarification by Dafa practitioners. On our journey of assisting Master to rectify the Fa, and to fulfill our vast prehistoric mission, we will work together to negate and eliminate the poison of the Communist Party, and save more and more sentient beings.
(Clearwisdom.net) The Falun Gong practitioners mentioned in this article were good people of sound physical and mental health. Because they insisted on practicing Falun Dafa and wished to live by the principles "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," they refused to be brainwashed by Jiang's regime. Therefore, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) tortured them until they were physically disabled or had a mental breakdown because of physical abuse or neurological drugs. Many people lost their lives after they were physically disabled or had a mental breakdown.
"The purpose is to torture you until you'd rather be dead than alive," the police told practitioners when torturing them. For more than five years, under the genocidal policy of "defaming their [Falun Gong practitioners] reputation, bankrupting them financially, destroying them physically," the police brutality has become ever more severe. Countless cases of brutal torture, sexual abuse, large fines, injections of neurological drugs, brainwashing, firings, ransacking of homes, educational and other types of mental persecution have become the norm for Chinese law enforcement agencies throughout the country. The examples listed in this article are only the tip of the iceberg.
I. Brutal persecution causes lifetime disability
The CCP has been controlling people's minds through brutal methods, and it has put these methods to use in the persecution of Falun Gong to an unprecedented extent. To try to force practitioners to give up their belief and write a statement that denounces Falun Gong, the CCP uses all kinds of extreme inhuman torture methods, resulting in huge numbers of practitioners becoming physically disabled. Some practitioners' limbs had to be amputated. Some practitioners' limbs were severely deformed and became paralyzed. Some practitioners lost their eye-sight or hearing, and some practitioners' faces were badly mangled.
Ms. Xu Fayue, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Jinan City, Shandong Province, Had Several of Her Toes Amputated Because of Frostbite
(Reference: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/5/14/10046.html)
(Captions of two pictures) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Fayue had to have several of her toes amputated as a result of the persecution she suffered
On the evening of January 12, 2001, police officers from Jinan City in Shandong Province appeared at Xu Fayue (a 1997 graduate from the Shandong Mine Collage) and five other Dafa practitioners' residence and arrested them. The officers came from the Political Security Unit of the Jinan City Public Security Bureau and Liulishan Police Station. They did not produce any warrants, give any reasons or identify themselves before they arrested the practitioners. On the way to the police station, Xu refused to cooperate with the police personnel's unlawful requests, so three or four policemen beat her savagely.
At Liulishan Police Station, Xu Fayue's was handcuffed with both hands behind her back and forced to sit with bare feet on the ice-cold cement floor. As soon as the leaders of the district public security bureau arrived, they, police and the Liulishan Police Station director covered her eyes with a towel and savagely kicked her in the head. This resulted in the area around her eyes, her forehead and mouth to bleed profusely. Blood soaked through the towel. After the interrogation proved fruitless, the police put a heavy steel helmet on her head and tied her onto a chair with rope and handcuffs. Her left hand was tied to the back of the chair in such a painful way that she could not sit up or bend down. The police left her in a room where the temperature was below minus 10 degree Celsius [below 14 0F]. Two policemen were monitoring her to ensure that she would not close her eyes. Xu Fayue had to endure such a terrible situation through the night. The next morning, she vomited due to the severe pain. They finally loosened the rope on her left hand. All this time, a policeman in his fifties cursed at Xu Fayue using dirty and foul language, brutally kicked her and shouted, "I'll kill you and choke you to death!"
On the afternoon of January 13, Xu and other five practitioners were sent to Liuchangshan Prison. They went on a hunger strike to protest their unlawful imprisonment. Five days later, Xu Fayue was tied to a bed to be force-fed. She almost suffocated during the process and was close to dying. She was handcuffed to the bed with her hands and legs being stretched out as far as possible and covered only with a thin blanket. Her hands and feet were left uncovered on purpose, an additional torture in the cold winter. Since she was tied to the bed and not allowed to use the restroom, her clothing and the mattress were soaked with her urine and soiled with her excrement. Her hands and feet were exposed to the icy wind blowing through the open door and she lost all feeling in her body. After having been abused and tortured this way for five days, her hands became extremely swollen and turned dark purple. Her feet were numb and ice cold. The first, third and fifth toes of her right foot turned black. Afraid of taking responsibility, the prison guards and doctors sent her to the Police General Hospital, which is also known as the Forced Labor Bureau Hospital. The doctors in the hospital diagnosed that her left foot and right hand had suffered from second-degree frostbite. Her right foot had suffered third degree frostbite, with the first, third and fifth toes completely dead and emitting a foul odor. After nearly one month, most of her big toe, all of the third toe and part of the fifth toe of her right foot were amputated. Xu Fayue still could not walk normally three months later.

On January 8, 2002, when Wang Xinchun distributed truth-clarifying flyers at the Tree Farm, the chief of police Wang Wei and policeman "A" saw him. Wang tried to escape but policemen Wang Shoumin and Min Changchun pursued him through the night into the next morning. Wang was not familiar with the area and fell into a river. His legs up to his knees became wet and soon iced up. The police surrounded the mountain. Two days later, chief Wang Wei and policeman "A" arrested Wang. Wang Wei and Director of the police Cui Yuzhong ordered policeman "A" to put Wang's feet into a washbasin with very hot water (which is not the thing to do and will aggravate the frostbite and cause severe injury). The police forcefully pulled Wang's shoes off his feet in the hot water. Some of the flesh was stuck to the shoes because of the ice. The police even said, "See, how nice we police are, looking after you just like our own children." This was extremely cruel. When they arrested Wang on the mountain, Wang was still able to walk and his legs were not completely frostbitten. Only after the police put his feet in boiling water did the injury become irreversible.
At noon, only policeman A was watching Wang. Policeman A grabbed Wang's chest, shook him back and forth and slapped his face. Wang's feet continued to swell up and blister. His lower legs also blistered, most likely because of the boiling water. Wang was sent home at five p.m.
Later, the district police of Jinshantun, the "610 Office," and local government officials went to Wang's house uninvited three times to videotape him. The police spread lies everywhere. They claimed, "Wang Xinchun went into the mountains and his feet got frostbite. He came home and put his feet into the hot water to melt the ice, which caused his disability."
Afterward, Wang's feet decomposed and fell off, resulting in permanent disability.
Practitioner Ms. Fu Li's Hands Are Disabled by Torture at Wanjia Labor Camp
(Reference: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/12/3/55202.html)
Forty-one-year-old practitioner Ms. Fuli is from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. In 2000, her hands became disabled and her body was covered with scars as a result of torture at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.
(Caption of two pictures) Picture provided by the victim of the persecution, Ms. Fu Li.
In October 1999, Ms. Fu Li went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa for the second time. Armed police arrested her in Tiananman Square. Officials from the Shuangcheng City 610 Office then brought her back to Shuangcheng City and held her at the No. 2 Prison. In mid-November, the Shuangcheng City Police Department sent her to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province without due cause or going through a legal process.
In the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp, Ms. Fu Li endured inhuman treatment. The police tied a rope around her thumbs and then hung her up by that rope. Her thumbs had to sustain the weight of her entire body! After being suspended like that for a long time, her thumbs became deformed and her hands disabled. She could no longer take care of herself.
Most of the practitioners incarcerated in the Wanjia Labor Camp suffer from scabies because of the humidity and physical torture. They have lesions over their entire bodies.

Ms. Zang Yuxia, a Practitioner from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, Is Persecuted Until Her Face Is Disfigured
(Ref: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/7/25/24463.html)
In April 2002, several police broke into the home of Ms. Zang Yuxia, a Falun Gong practitioner in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province and ransacked her home without a warrant. After the police found nothing, the police forced Zang Yuxia into the police car without even giving her a chance to put her shoes on. They also kidnapped her child, a non-practitioner who was home for the weekend. The police persecuted Zang and in just one month, Zang's face was disfigured from the torture. She also suffered a fever (over 112oF) and was unconscious for a very long time.

The photographs were taken on May 19, while Zang Yuxia was unconscious.
Due to Severe Torture at Shijiazhuang Forced-Labor Camp, Hebei Province, Practitioner Ms. Li Huiqi Becomes Paralyzed
(Ref: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/2/1/31568.html)
Ms. Li Huiqi was born in 1967. She was a former employee in a paint factory in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. On December 2, 2001, she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and someone turned her in to the police. Officials from the Weiming Street Police Station of Shijiazhuang City (formerly the Xinghua Street Police Station. Practitioner Mr. Zuo Zhigang was murdered there) arrested her. Ms. Li was illegally imprisoned in the first detention center in Shijiazhuang City for two months. On February 2, 2002, she was sent to the Second Squad, in the Fourth Brigade of Shijiazhuang Forced-Labor Camp to serve a one-year unlawful sentence. During the illegal imprisonment, she was in critical condition on several occasions. Her family requested to see her several times and asked the camp to put her on medical parole, so she could see a doctor. The request was denied every time.
Caption of two pictures: Li Huiqi suffered in pain
On April 9, 2002, Li Huiqi's life was in danger as a result of torture. The labor camp had to send her to the Peoples' Hospital of Hebei Province for urgent treatment. Li's family members were finally able to see her. Li was emaciated and her life was in danger. Li was diagnosed with "Guillain-Barre Syndrome" and transferred to the Hebei Province Third Hospital. During that time, Li's life was many times in danger and her family bought her funeral clothes three times. Li was paralyzed and often unconscious. Her urinary tract and lungs were severely infected. Her bronchial tubes had to be opened to insert a tube, which she relied on to breathe. She constantly went into convulsions.
On December 3, 2002, when Li was still in dire shape, the captain of the fourth brigade of the camp and officer Zhou Yilin used the excuse of "Li's term was served" and discharged her from the camp. He left her in the hospital. The police persecuted a person until she was paralyzed and then expected her family to take over her care. Li's family tried to negotiate with the director of the forced labor camp, Zhao Jinlong, to reach an equitable solution. Zhao would not accept responsibility and the family had to take Li home.
Ms. Zhai Fengci Is Tortured in the Forced Labor Camp and Her Knees and Hands Became Deformed
(Ref: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/5/11/47952p.html)
Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhai Fengci was 50 years old, and an employee of Xinghuo Machine Tool Factory of Tianshui City, Gansu Province.
After being tortured in the forced labor camp for two years and two months, Ms. Zhao Fengci's knees and hands were deformed
Before Zhai practiced Falun Gong, she had many health problems, which mainly stemmed from a heart condition. After she began to practice Falun Gong, her illnesses disappeared. She even was no longer nearsighted. In spite of the evil persecution, Zhai traveled to Beijing twice to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong.
A cruel torture called "squat on the back" was used to torture Zhai Fengci. Zhai was forced to kneel and squat down on the ground under a bunk bed. The lower bed is only 60-70 centimeters from the ground. Ms. Zhai's arms were pulled behind her to opposite corners of the bed, with about 3 feet between her arms, and her hands were cuffed together on top of the bed. She could not straighten her back, lift her head, or rest her feet fully on the floor. Her toes sustained her entire weight. She felt excruciating pain in her shoulders, as if they had been broken. If she moved any part of her body a little bit, the handcuffs cut into her wrists. For 7 days and 7 nights, she was engulfed in extreme pain. The pain from the torture caused her to vomit and she was near death. Her shoes were torn and her toes became deformed.
Two years and two months of torture in the labor camp left both of Ms Zhai's knees and hands severely deformed and swollen. She is now unable to take care of herself. Meanwhile, her daughter Zhai Rongxuan was expelled from college for going to Beijing to appeal with her. She is currently homeless. Ms. Zhai's older brother, who was 70 years old, was brutally beaten and fined tens of thousands of yuan for appealing for Falun Gong. Her older sister was unlawfully detained, and has been beaten and fined several thousand Yuan.
Guangzhou City Dongshan District Policemen Blind Ms. Wang Haiyan's Right Eye When Beating Her
(Ref: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/9/24/52755.html)
In November 2002, Ms. Wang Haiyan was sent to the Third Brigade of the Chatou Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou City. As a result of the physical abuse she received, Ms. Wang lost her eyesight. Her right eye socket was sunken and her eyeball had shrunk. Even the black pupil of her right eye turned white. She had great difficulty walking and was unable to look after herself.
On the afternoon of June 13, 2002, Wang Haiyan was followed and reported by someone when she was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong and handing out truth-clarifying materials near the Wangfujing Department Store in the Dongshan District in Guangzhou City. Policemen and plainclothes officers from the "610 Office" dragged Wang to an alley and threw her into a ditch. After she was taken to the Nonglinxia Street Police Station in Dongshan District, her clothes were soaked with rain and blood. Her head, eyes, and other parts of her body were seriously injured. She requested to be sent to a hospital for medical examination and treatment. Although she was vomiting, they threw her into a small dark room. She was hungry and thirsty, and she felt extremely cold. She went into convulsions. The excruciating pain made her vomit and she fainted.
Wang was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. When she woke up, the police threatened her. They told her that she could not tell the truth to the doctor. A doctor told her that the tissue of her eyeball and optic nerve were damaged, and there were several bruises on her brain. Additionally, her left eardrum was damaged. She lost the hearing in one of her ears. There were black and blue marks and blood all over her body, and she was bruised badly. The doctors wanted to know more about her injuries, but the police dragged them away. Her injuries got worse and she suffered daily severe headaches and eye pain. She often felt such excruciating pain that caused her to convulse. She could not sleep all night long. Eventually her right eye became blind, and the eyesight in her left eye declined very quickly. She requested medical treatment several times, but it was denied.
Dafa Practitioner Ms. Gao Rongrong's Face Is Severely Disfigured After Seven Hours of Electric Baton Torture in the Longshan Labor Camp
(Ref: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/7/12/50141.html)
The police at the Longshan Labor Camp in Shenyang City shocked 36-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Rongrong for nearly seven hours with electric batons. Her face was severely disfigured.

Gao Rongrong worked in the finance division of the Luxun Fine Arts College in Shenyang City. In July of 2003, Gao was taken to the Longshan Forced Labor Camp. On May 7, 2004, Tang Yubao, deputy head of the No. 2 Brigade, team leader Jiang Zhaohua, called Gao to the duty office and cuffed her to the warm air pipeline. Tang and Jiang shocked Gao with electric batons for 6-7 hours, from 3:00 p.m. to after 9:00 p.m. Her face became severely disfigured, swollen and covered with blisters. Her hair was matted with blood and pus dripped from her scorched skin. She could only open her eyes a little because of her swollen face. Her mouth was severely swollen and deformed. Even inmates who had lived with her day and night for a long time could not recognize her. Picture 2 shows her burned face after the blisters had dried up. One can still see the scars. The scars in some areas of her face are thick, which shows the severity of the electric shocks. The perpetrators shocked many parts of her face repeatedly; many blisters and burn scars have overlapping layers. Her face was not treated, nor was she given any medication.
Ms. Gao was inhumanly tortured while detained at the Longshan Forced Labor Camp. Her body was severely injured from the torture. She reported pain in her liver and abdomen. She suffered intermittent fever and persistent nausea, and she could no longer eat. Deputy head Tang Yubao of the No. 2 Brigade slapped her face until she lost hearing in one ear. Yue Jun, head of the No. 1 Brigade, ordered inmates to humiliate her by cutting her hair until it was close to her scalp on the top of her head. Picture 3 was taken when some hair had grown back.

Dalian Port Cargo Clerk Mr. Qu Hui Was Paralyzed during Four Years of Torture in a Forced Labor Camp
(Ref: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2005/1/17/56651.html)
Falun Dafa practitioner Qu Hui lives in Zhongshan District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Because he remained steadfast in his belief in Falun Dafa, he was imprisoned in the Dalian City Forced Labor Camp, where he suffered severe torture. His genitals were injured from electric shocks, his cervical vertebrae were fractured, and he has been paralyzed for four years.
Mr. Qu Hui, 35 years old, lives at No. 41, Yihe Street, Zhongshan District, Dalian City. Qu and his wife went to Beijing in January 2000 to appeal for Falun Gong and clarify the facts. Mr. Qu was beaten by police on Tiananmen Square and taken back to Dalian. The authorities extorted 9,700 yuan from him. Afterwards, he was discharged from his job and detained in the Dalian Port Prison. After one month, Qu was transferred to Pulandian City Mental Hospital for further persecution. On April 13, 2000, Mr. Qu was imprisoned in the Dalian City Forced Labor Camp, where he had to do hard labor and suffered brainwashing and torture. His genitals were injured from electric shocks. His cervical vertebrae were fractured, and he became paralyzed. Finally he was tortured so cruelly that he could no longer walk. He was carried on a stretcher out of the forced labor camp. Over the past four years, Qu Hui has been bedridden because he was paralyzed. He cannot turn his body by himself. His wife has to take care of all of his physical needs.

In the afternoon of March 19, 2001, the special team that detains Falun Gong practitioners in Dalian City Forced Labor Camp had readied a great number of police, torture instruments, and ambulances with oxygen tanks. One by one, practitioners were brought into a room. Inside this room, the police attempted to have practitioners renounce Falun Gong. The police also tried to have practitioners sign a "Guarantee Statement." They attempted to make practitioners slander and curse their respected Teacher and Dafa. If a practitioner refused to do so, he or she would be brutally tortured. The sound of screaming from practitioners and curses from police filled the building. Practitioners who had been tortured were lying all over the hallway. Some were spitting or drooling, and some groaned from pain. It was a terrible scene.
At 9:00 p.m., Qu Hui was also dragged into that torture room. The police tortured him until 8:00 a.m. the next morning. No one knew how many electric batons the police used. Qu's body was covered with wounds caused by rubber clubs. His buttocks were beaten so severely that the flesh caved in. His knees were swollen from being hit, and his cervical vertebrae was broken. He spat blood and lost consciousness several times. Once Qu regained consciousness and overheard doctor Han Qiong, who monitored him, say, "He's all right. You can continue beating him." Han Qiong currently is the chief of the Dalian Forced Labor Camp Hospital. He once told Qu's wife, "It's better if Qu Hui dies." While hitting Qu, police officer Qiao Wei grinned and said to the observers, "For many years my cravings have not been satisfied as much as they are now."
The next day, the forced labor camp authorities saw that Qu Hui was dying, so they sent him to the City Hospital. Because Qu could not get the medical treatment he needed immediately, his condition deteriorated and his life was in critical condition. Due to strong demands by Qu's family, Qu's wife was released on bail from the labor camp to take care of Qu. (Qu's wife went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in October 2000. She was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor and imprisoned in Dalian City Forced Labor Camp.)
Qu's wife saw him after he had been hospitalized for 20 days. Qu was extremely weak and his heart rate was up to 160 beats per minute. Qu's lungs were failing and he was unable to breath on his own. His trachea was cut open and a breathing machine was inserted. His kidney also failed and an urine tube was inserted. In the meantime, Qu had severe diarrhea and was depending on intravenous injection to survive. Qu had bedsores all over, especially on his buttocks. The largest one was nearly 10 centimeters, stretching down to his pelvis. His vertebrae was black, exposed to the outside and exuded a very bad smell.

Mr. Zou Yanjie's Feet Amputated Due to Persecution
(Ref: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/10/8/53268.html)
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zou Yanjie, 30 years old, lived in the Railroad Workers Residential Community at the Halahai Town in Nong'an County of Jilin Province. The persecution against Falun Gong had disabled a strong young man.

Mr. Zou Yanjie from Nong'an County of Jilin Province was persecuted and had
his legs amputated
At 8 p.m. on December 20, 2001, when police from Halahai Town Substation knocked on Zou Yanjie's door, Zou didn't open the door. The police then climbed over the wall from Zou's neighbor's yard and broke into his home. Officers Wang Shiquan, Zhang Enfeng, and a person with the surname of Zhai broke into the house. They ransacked his home and left a total mess. The police arrested Zou, his mother and his wife. Zou had been imprisoned in a forced labor camp before, and he ran away to avoid going through it again. Zou got lost and was trapped in the dense woods because he panicked. Zou was afraid that the police would catch him and decided to stay in the woods for a couple of days. It was during the cold of winter and Zou had nothing to eat or drink for several days. He became too weak to walk out of the woods later and his hands and feet suffered severe frostbite. Someone found Zou after 18 days of suffering hunger and cold weather in the woods and saved him. By the time, Zou was extremely weak and skinny; even his older sister couldn't recognize him. Zou lost the ability to work. His wife gave up Falun Gong due to the persecution and divorced him. Zou's parents are taking care of him now. The family does not have a permanent place to stay because they are hiding from the police.
(To be continued)
(Clearwisdom.net) The "Hang Up" torture method raises cuffed hands and feet just off the ground and is not permitted according to prison rules. However, in Heilongjiang Women's Prison, recently assigned officers Xu Longjiang and Liu Zhiqiang adopted this vicious technique to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Team Two in Jail One used it initially, which then spread to other teams.
Two practitioners who exposed this to jail officials, Zhang Linwen and Yu Xiuying, were severely punished. Zhang Linwen was taken by prison inmates to the very same Team Two while Yu Xiuying was handcuffed at night.
On December 21, 2004, practitioner Guan Shuling from Team Two, Jail One was handcuffed and sitting on the bare ground, her eyes glazed and red-rimmed. She was on the verge of falling unconscious. Guan Shuling said she was injected with drugs and fell into a coma-like sleep. The drug was known to have coma-inducing effects, and caused vomiting so severe that Guan Shuling needed assistance even to use the bathroom.
Seeing Guan Shuling teetering on the edge of consciousness, practitioner Zhang Jing sat in the lotus position, held her hand up and began to send righteous thoughts. Prison inmate Wang Wenhua and others immediately rushed over and uncrossed Zhang Jing's legs, and called out to guards Liu Xiaofang and He Jing. The two began to interrogate Zhang Jing but she refused to answer. Liu Xiaofang said viciously, "Don't waste any more time with her. Handcuff her."
Other inmates piled on her, forcing her to put on prison clothing, and then pushed her to the ground. Liu Xiaofang directed inmate Man Yunyue to handcuff Zhang Jing. She refused to be handcuffed and called out loudly, "Falun Dafa is great." Li Fenghua then pressed against her head.
From December 21 to 29, Zhang Jing was handcuffed. During the day, she was handcuffed behind her back and at night she was handcuffed in the front. From December 21 to 26 she was handcuffed to the ground, and from December 27 to 29 she was handcuffed and made to stand, with her hands bound to an upper level bed. Even then her captors would not stop. On December 29 at 3 p.m., guards Cui Hongmei and Xia Fengying directed the worst inmates to hang up five practitioners including Chen Weijun, Zhang Liping, Liu Xuewei, Guan Shuling, and Zhang Jing.
Three police officers, Yu Li, Yue, and Lv Cuijun, led inmates Li Yanping, Sun Xiuyun, Liu Chao, and Feng Xiaobo to Zhang Jing's cell. They covered the window with a bedsheet. Inmate Wang Jingdan climbed to the upper bunk, hooked Zhang Jing's handcuffs to the highest place on the bed, and left her hanging there for 20 to 30 minutes until she agreed to wear prison clothes. Zhang Jing was then forced to give her fingerprints. The handcuffs cut deeply into her flesh. Marks remained on her skin for two days, and her left thumb continues to experience numbness.
Practitioner Chen Weijun was hung up by inmates at 3 p.m. on December 29, 2004. At the time, seven guards including Cui Hongmei and Xia Fengying were present. The handcuffs cut into her skin as Chen Weijun was hung for over an hour. When her wrist began to turn black and she could not stand it any more, she was carried back to her team cell. This was Chen Weijun's second "hang-up," with the first occurring on July 10, 2004, because she refused to report to work duty. At that time, she was hung up in the guard's office on the sixth floor.

To the Chief Justice of the Heilongjiang Province Superior Court:
My name is Yao Yuming. I am a 54-year-old woman. My hometown is in Hanjia Gold Mining District of Huma County. Because I practice Falun Gong, I have been sentenced by the Huma County Court, and I am currently imprisoned in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison.
I was sent by coercion to the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison on September 12, 2003. During the prison health inspection, I was found to have a high cardiac pressure of 260 and a low of 140. The prison declined to accept me initially, but the chief inspector of the police station who brought me to the prison managed to persuade the prison officials. Several criminals forcefully injected me with drugs at the medical centre. One of them told me that the inspector had said to them, "Give her a 'free' injection." Even today, I have been unable to find out what the drug is that was injected into my body.
After being sent to one of the groups at the concentration camp, I laid unconscious for three days before regaining consciousness. Three days later, other persecuted practitioners and I were forced to run in the backyard under the scorching sun with guards constantly attacking us with electric batons. The guards also instigated criminals in the camp to beat us. We were then forced to squat several hours on the floor and kicked brutally if we did not comply. I was kicked so hard by guard Wang Liang that I fell to the ground unconscious.
I was then sent to a monitored area. Thirty-five practitioners, myself included, were monitored, beaten, verbally attacked and even tied up with rope. Guard Sun Jian shouted at us angrily when we recited books written by our Teacher. On March 9, 2004, squad leader Cui Hongmei, Xia Fengying, guard Zhou Ying and Deng Yu led twenty criminals, dragging us into the watershed, washrooms and prison cells, where we were tied with our backs to the sides of the beds. Sixteen practitioners who did not wear prison uniforms were tied up and hung with both hands, one hand up and one hand down, tied behind the back and hung up, feet not touching the ground. This continued until the practitioners agreed to give in to their commands.
Twelve other practitioners were tied up and hung in a similar fashion for a total of twenty-eight hours on March 18, 2004. On May 15, as I refused to squat down and call out my name, I was beaten by criminals. Shao Hongling stomped on me heavily, causing several injuries on my leg. When the prison inspector came to our cell on May 16, instead of listening to our appeals, he left after spouting a mouthful of vulgarities. After that, he instigated the squad and guards to hang up fifteen more practitioners until they lost consciousness before being drugged with unknown substances, and hung them up again in the afternoon. We were then forced to pay for the cost of the unknown drug.
On Dec 21, 2004, guards tied up practitioners Zhang Xiaobo, Guan Shuling, Zhang Lianwen and Zhang Liping and hung them up until they passed out. They were then force-fed and injected with drugs. Their wrists were torn open, and their hands were badly swollen.
Between March and August 2004, we were not allowed to write letters or have visitors, and since March 2, 2004, thirty practitioners have been imprisoned in the cell. They were forced to sit on a small bench motionless and be watched by criminals for fourteen to fifteen hours a day. Our human rights have been taken away from us and our physical condition is deteriorating under such brutal treatment. Such actions are totally inconsistent with the rule of law and the Chinese judiciary system. It cannot be allowed to carry on any further. We solemnly ask the Superior Court to uphold justice and punish the guilty individuals.
What crime did Falun Gong cultivators commit by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance? The genocidal persecution of practitioners cannot be allowed to continue any longer.

January 13,2005
(Clearwisdom.net) During February 2005, we confirmed 81 cases of Falun Gong practitioners dying as a result of the persecution. Non-governmental channels have confirmed that since July 20, 1999, when Jiang Zemin's regime began its persecution of Falun Gong, at least 1,427 Falun Gong practitioners have died as a result of the persecution.
Of 81 Falun Gong practitioners, 45 were women, and 46 were older than 55. Of these over-55-year-old practitioners, 17 of them were over 70 years old.
Three Falun Gong practitioners were not even 30 when they died as a result of the persecution. They were: 24 year-old Ms Luo Qiaohong, a teacher from Jiahe County, Binzhou, Hunan Province. She has a 2-year-old child; 27-year-old Mr. Wang Zhehao, an employee from the Dalian Chemical Research & Design Institute, who majored in Investment Economics at the Dalian Institute of Light Industry; 27-year-old Mr. Dai Jianming, a university student from Wuhan University of Technology.
Five of the practitioners killed in February were 52-year-old Mr. Shijun from Harbin City; Tianjin practitioner Mr. Liu Jinghua, 57 years old; Mongolian practitioner Mr. Gao Yunhu, 63 years old; Liaoning practitioner Mr. Qian Naizhang, 42 years old; Shanghai practitioner Ms. Chao Qiangzhen, 53 years old.
These 81 confirmed deaths cases of practitioners span 17 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities: 15 cases in Hebei Province; 14 cases in Liaoning Province; 9 cases in Heilongjiang Province; 7 cases in Hubei Province; 5 cases in Jilin Province; 4 cases each in Hunan Province, Shandong Province and Sichuan Province; 3 cases each in Henan Province and Chongqing; 2 cases each in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Guizhou Province, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shaanxi Province and Shanxi Province; 1 case in Beijing.
Just because the practitioners adhered to their belief, they were subjected to inhuman physical and mental torture at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang's political group. Many families were illegally imprisoned. In some cases, several family members died as a result of the persecution. They died in the CCP's detention centers, forced labor camps, prisons, or in the "610 Offices" that are specifically used to persecute Falun Gong. Some were released home when they were at their last gasp of breath and passed away shortly after; some had their homes searched, were fined, abducted and harassed; many of them left behind young children and elderly parents.
* Outstanding Talent Pan Xingfu, Only 31 Years Old, Died from Torture in January 2005
Thirty-one year-old Dafa practitioner Pan Xingfu from Shuangyanshan City, Heilongjiang Province, passed away in January 2005. He was a former cadre of the Shuangyashan Post Office. Because he didn't want to give up his belief, he was persecuted again and again. He left behind a young child and elderly mother. His wife Zhang Li was illegally sentenced to a nine-year prison term.
Dafa practitioner Pan Xingfu's photo
Zhuangzhuang, Pan Xingfu's son, took this photo two days prior to his father's death
Pan Xingfu was a talented young man. In 1993, when Pan Xingfu was a third year student at the university, he attended Master Li Hongzhi's lectures in Wuhan. He instantly recognized the goodness of Falun Dafa and the profound principles encompassed in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." After he obtained the Fa, Pan Xingfu introduced the Fa to his mother. After that, Falun Dafa changed the whole family's fate. His mother was healed of all her illnesses. She was not depressed any more and became more optimistic.
After Pan Xingfu graduated, he went back to Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, and worked in the Department of Networking in the Bureau of Postal and Tele Communications. He was responsible and an expert in his field. His supervisors and colleagues alike praised him. He would tell others, "I'm a Dafa practitioner. I need to always conduct myself according to Dafa's teachings and do my work well."
In 1995, he was awarded the distinction of "advanced worker," and in 1997 he was awarded the distinction of "model worker in building our city with science and technology." He was the only one in the system of postal and telecommunications who held this honor. In 1998 he was awarded the distinction of "Trans-century Talent in Postal and Telecommunications System in Heilongjiang Province." (Only 50 people had this honor in the whole province; he was the only one from Shuangyashan City) On December 12, 1999 he was awarded the title of telecommunications engineer. In 2000 he became the director of the Exchange Center of the Telecommunications Bureau and the deputy director of the Bureau of Postal and Telecommunications in Youyi County. Among his peers he was one of the best.
Many people in Pan Xingfu's family also started practicing Falun Gong. His wife Zhang Li is also a Falun Gong practitioner who graduated from the Postal-Telecommunications College in Liaoning Province. Pan Xingfu was released home from the Mudanjiang Prison after he was tortured to the verge of death
Jiang's regime started suppressing Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Pan Xingfu's family still persisted in their belief and continued to firmly protect and validate the Fa. He was arrested several times. Early in 2002 he was unlawfully sentenced and sent to the Qitaihe Prison in Heilongjiang Province and then transferred to Mudanjiang Prison. He was brutally tortured, repeatedly beaten and compelled to do odd jobs. In July 2004, when he was tortured to near death, he was released back home.
Due to the Jiang regime's policy of bankrupting Dafa practitioners financially, his family lived through a lot of hard times. He, his mother and the young child were relying on only 180 Yuan per month. His wife was incarcerated in the Harbin Women's Prison and unlawfully sentenced to a nine-year term.
In January 2005, Pan Xingfu's physical condition suddenly deteriorated. He died on January 31, 2005.
* Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Deshan, a Teacher in Dezhou, Shandong Province, Suffered a Mental Collapse and Died
Li Deshan, a teacher in Dezhou, Shandong Province was incarcerated in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp because he practiced Falun Gong. The guards used all kinds of torture on Li Deshan. In order to force Li Deshan to renounce Falun Gong, guards ordered collaborators to cruelly torture him. They shackled Li Deshan's limbs to two metal beds and then pulled the beds in two opposite directions, causing excruciating pain. They filled three glass bottles with boiling water, and then tied the bottles to one end of several strings and hung the bottles right above Li Deshan's head. If he moved his head he would be scalded, as the boiling water would spill on his head. Another torture Li Deshan suffered is called "half-flying." His arms were stretched out with his hands handcuffed to a metal bed frame. He was hung up like this with only his toes barely touching the floor for two weeks. Mr. Li was also force-fed with alcohol by guards and criminals. Guards Shan Yewei and Liang Junling also made a torture instrument called the "strict control stool" with steel cables. The guards forced him to sit on the stool for a long time and forced him to stay awake. Several collaborators watched him in rotating shifts. They beat him ruthlessly if he changed his sitting position.
Besides the physical torture, the mental torment Li Deshan suffered was even more unbearable. They deprived Li Deshan of sleep for long periods of time. When his mind was not clear from sleep deprivation, they ordered Li Deshan to read aloud material that had been written to defame Falun Gong and recorded his reading. Then they finally let him go to sleep. When he woke up with a clear mind, they played his recording in public. Li Deshan denied that it was his own statement, so the policemen deprived him of sleep again and forced him to read the materials again when his mind was not clear, and recorded it and played it again.
Under the extreme physical and mental torture, Li Deshan suffered a mental collapse and eventually died, leaving behind his parents, wife and young children.

(Clearwisdom.net) Many people have long held the opinion that the Tiananmen self-immolation incident of January 23, 2001 was a politically motivated plot staged by the Jiang Zemin regime to defame Falun Gong. The Chinese authorities have recently brought up this incident again in order to deceive people. The government falsely claims that Xue Hongjun (one of the actors in the incident) was a veteran practitioner of Falun Gong. This article reveals Xue Hongjun's character from several different angles in an effort to expose the lies and rectify people's perceptions.
Xue Hongjun is from Kaifeng City, Henan Province. According to people who know him, he used to be a surgeon in a local hospital. He later resigned his position at the hospital and started his own medical practice. Xue had a gambling problem. Using the name of Falun Gong, he cheated people out money and property, including a motorcycle worth 3,000 yuan. Xue was known to borrow money with no intention of paying it back.
When Xue was detained at the Beijing Detention Center, he was detained in Sections 3 and 6 at different times. His behavior while in prison can in no way be mistaken for that of a Falun Gong practitioner.
Xue was addicted to smoking, but he did not buy his own cigarettes; instead he smoked his cellmates' cigarettes. If he really was a veteran practitioner, how could it be that he was not able to quit smoking, especially when it came to other people's cigarettes?
There was an inmate with the surname of Ding in the same cell as Xue. Ding was from Fangshan District of Beijing. Once, Xue was chatting with Ding and he found out that Ding was being detained because he had killed someone. Xue told Ding, "We have the same profession!" Upon seeing Ding's bewilderment, he added, "I am a surgeon. We both use knifes to relieve people of their suffering. In fact, you are even better than I am. You've relieved a person's suffering forever with just one cut!" Xue Hongjun's words showed how ruthless he was in his heart. It's no wonder he was used in the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident.
Xue Hongjun was a smooth talker. He often boasted about himself in the prison cell. He claimed that he and Liu Yunfang (another person involved in the self-immolation incident) were very famous in Kaifeng City. He said that the Teacher of Falun Gong had given them "religious names," and Liu Yunfang was considered "the eldest pupil." Xue also claimed that he was a 26th generation disciple of a Taoist school. All genuine Dafa practitioners know that the Teacher of Falun Dafa treats all of his students equally, without discrimination, and that there is no such thing as "the eldest pupil."
Regarding matters of his personal life, Xue Hongjun's behavior was the polar opposite of genuine Falun Gong practitioners. There were many people locked in one prison cell. Everyone had to sleep straight so that there would be room for everybody, but Xue slept with his knees bent and curled up. He often slept against the wall so that nobody could sleep next to him. He didn't want to take part in the cleaning duties. Sometimes he even swore at and quarreled with others. He also liked to take petty advantage of others. The head of the cell was a man with the surname Bai. Xue Hongjun associated himself with Bai through some distant family relationship. As a result, for a long time he was able to eat better than the other inmates. He also took the shoes of another cellmate and kept them for himself. Xue's words and actions were far different from those of a Falun Gong practitioner. Even his cellmates have commented, "He simply doesn't look like a Falun Gong practitioner."
Judging from the examples given above, it's apparent that Xue Hongjun was not a genuine Falun Gong practitioner. He was used by the evil to frame Falun Gong. He behaved like a thug trained by the Communist Party and used the name of Falun Gong to deceive people. We can judge him using the principles of Falun Gong - truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. He cheated people out of their money and boasted about it. He was not acting truthfully. He participated in the staged self-immolation incident and claimed that he had the same profession as a killer. He was not compassionate. He indulged in bad habits such as smoking and gambling. He fought with others for trivial gains. He was not forbearing or exercising self-restraint. Yet, the evil Communist Party labeled him a veteran practitioner. The truth about Falun Gong practitioners is widely known by people nowadays, and it's easy to see through the lies. The deceitful nature of the Communist Party can't be changed. No matter how transparent the lies are, it has no choice but to continue lying.
