The Crimes of Prison Doctor Du Baochuan at Baoding Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) It is said that the prison doctor, Du Baochuan, at Baoding Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province used to work in a mental hospital. Four practitioners, including Ma Zhanmei and Zhang Yiqin died as a result of force-feeding by him. Many others suffered from lung collapse and severe bouts of coughing. When Du carried out the force-feeding, he inserted the tube with undue force while telling the victims spitefully, "You want to go on hunger strike? I will let you know how it feels to be force-fed!"

Du's force-feeding routine is as follows: The practitioner who protests the illegal persecution by going on hunger strike is handcuffed to a chair. His head is forced back and down the back of the chair (the back of the neck buttressing against the back of the chair) until it cannot go any further, so that the victim's esophagus is forced closed. Then, the victim's nose is pinched and his mouth pried open with a knife, often resulting in mouthfuls of blood. Then, food is poured into his mouth. When the struggling practitioner becomes unable to move and it appears that his heart will soon stop beating, Du forcefully presses on the victim's chest and then releases so that the food falls to the stomach. This procedure is repeated six or seven times during one force-feeding session. He has even asked smugly, "How does it feel? Does it feel good? We will continue tomorrow."

When practitioners who were unwell were taken by the guards to the treatment room, Du said without even examining them, "I think it is because you are muddle-headed. When I clear your head, you will be ok." He then applied a large needle to the Renzhong acupuncture point (in the groove above the upper lip) to inflict tremendous pain. Thereafter, the practitioners no longer dared to go to the "treatment room," no matter how sick they felt. One practitioner went on a hunger strike. When Du force-fed him, he asked some questions and the practitioner did not answer. Du then stabbed his Renzhong acupuncture point with a large needle. This practitioner screamed from the pain.

On the afternoon of May 11, 2004, Du Baochuan came to the 1^st Division and told more than twenty practitioners who were on hunger strike, "I am the villain referred to in your Minghui/Clearwisdom website. I do not mind being a villain. If you don't eat, I will force-feed you through the nose or the mouth. I don't care if I have to do it dozens of times."

On the evening of September 24, 2004, practitioner Guo Guiju from Xiong County was forced to sit in a chair for twenty-four hours and was shocked with electric batons by Dongyang police team at the Xiong County Public Security Bureau. She went on a hunger strike in protest. On the afternoon of the 27^th, Ms. Guo was sent to Baoding Labor Camp. Du first stabbed her Renzhong acupuncture point, the soles of her feet, her toes and fingers with a large needle. He then injected her with drugs to torture her. After thirteen days, they still refused to release Guo Guiju. In addition, they extorted money from her family for the intravenous infusion. Later, they administered the force-feeding and handcuffed Ms. Guo to a bed for twenty-four hours.

One night, a practitioner developed symptoms of heart disease. It recurred several times within a short period of time, and the practitioner was taken to the treatment room. Du was there and he attempted to stab the practitioner with a big needle, and followed him (or her) to the cell and stabbed the soles of the practitioner's feet and heels with a big needle. The practitioner did not respond. He then stabbed the practitioner's ankle and the practitioner finally reacted to the assault. After confirming that the practitioner indeed had heart disease, he said angrily, "Ask your family to bring money for treatment."

Du Baochuan also shocked the practitioners who were on hunger strike with electric batons. His vicious deeds will be further investigated.

Practitioners in Baoding Labor Camp were cruelly tortured. Practitioner Ms. Wang Xinru is sixty years old. She was reported to the captain for practicing the Falun Gong exercises. Captain Liu Ziwei handcuffed one of her hands to the bed. Ms. Wang then meditated in the bed. Liu Ziwei dragged her down and attempted to handcuff her other hand to the bed. Ms. Wang did not cooperate. Liu Ziwei then shocked her with an electric baton. All members of the division witnessed the police's criminal act. Practitioner Wei Xiuying is sixty years old. She is from Zhuozhou. Because she refused to be "transformed", she was sent to the "general class" and forced to do the same intense labor as young people (the rule is that people fifty-five or older receive half the workload as people younger). She was forced to work until 2:00 a.m. or 4:00 a.m. Ms. Wei became emaciated. Police said that she deserved it because she refused to be "transformed." She was only reassigned the normal workload after a long time. Ms. Bu Li, a college student, was illegally detained at Baoding Labor Camp. One time, the perpetrators found copies of Master Li's articles in her possession. The guards then took her from the first floor to the third floor, and while other practitioners were busy at work outside, they incited inmates to beat her up until she had wounds all over her body.
