Australia: Practitioners Participate in Campbelltown City Festival and Wins Award (Photos)
By a practitioner in Australia
(Clearwisdom.net) On November 5, 2005, practitioners in Australia participated in the Fisher's Ghost Street Parade held at Campbelltown City for the fourth time. The practitioners' procession has won an award every year and received the best walking award this year. Local residents were warmhearted and applauded or waved at the practitioners' procession. People were indignant after learning the facts of the persecution against Falun Gong in China and the Australian Foreign Minister's signing of certificates restricting the practitioners' freedom of expression in front of the Chinese Embassy.
The Campbelltown City Festival of Fisher's Ghost is one of the longest running community events in Australia, having been staged since 1956. This unique festival, inspired by the famous legend of the ghost of Frederick Fisher, is steeped in community history and includes an extensive program of events to appeal to the wider community.
