Further Information Regarding the Illegal and Excessive Sentences of Zhu Tong, Yu Chao and Wang Weiyu of Qinghua University

(Clearwisdom.net) The Chaoyang District People's Court of Beijing held a secret session on January 9, 2004, in the Shuangqiao People's Courtroom of Beijing. This was an illegal trial of Falun Dafa practitioners Yu Chao, Zhu Tong and Wang Weiyu of Qinghua University. On April 22, 2004, the Chaoyang District People's Court sentenced Yu Chao to nine years in prison, Zhu Tong to eleven years and Wang Weiyu to eight years (Chaoyang District People's Court of Beijing: Judgement No. 75 of 2004 Chao Criminal Preliminary Document).

The accusations against the practitioners were as follows:

Zhu Tong and Yu Chao: Publishing articles on Clearwisdom.net and distributing Falun Gong related contents on the Internet.

Wang Weiyu: Assisting in the distribution of Falun Gong contents on the Internet and compiling evidence of the persecution among Qinghua University students and staff.

The guilty sentence was based on the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, no. 300.

The three practitioners immediately appealed at the No. 2 Intermediate People's Court of Beijing. Around late June of 2004, the Intermediate People's Court did not hold a session to review the sentence, but secretly declared they would uphold the original sentencing. All court procedures were conducted in secret.
