(Clearwisdom.net) On July 23 it is winter in Australia, and it was rainy and
windy in Melbourne. At 7 pm, Falun Gong practitioners gathered in front of the
Chinese Consulate in Melbourne to participate in the global activity to "light a
candle to commemorate the unyielding practitioners who died upholding
conscience."
The practitioners held candles in their hands and stood quietly across the
road facing the Chinese consulate. The candles represent the honest hearts of
practitioners, and they called for the conscience of the people. Wind blew out
the candles but practitioners re-lit them. It was like the persistent spirit of
the Falun Gong practitioners who safeguard the last elements of conscience in
the human world.
Since 1999, more than 1000 Falun Gong practitioners have lost their lives in
the persecution for persisting in their belief in "Truthfulness Compassion
Tolerance". Yet, their deaths have awakened more people who step forward to
resist the evil.
