(Clearwisdom.net) On July 23, 2004, five years after the persecution of Falun Gong began, practitioners in Melbourne, Australia held a series of commemorative activities outside the National Library, informing visitors of the facts about Falun Gong that have been suppressed by the Jiang regime. The activities included a live torture reenactment, exhibiting the brutal persecution that practitioners are subject to in China's prisons and labor camps. People and tourists passing by were shocked, and many people signed a petition to express their support for the peaceful cultivation practice, to call upon the Chinese authorities to stop its suppression of Falun Gong, and to stop the killing.

The display reenacted several of the methods used in China's prisons to torture practitioners, such as hammering bamboo sticks into practitioners' fingernails, Tiger Bench, dead person's bed, force-feeding torture, handcuffing for extended periods, being locked in a small metal cage, torture of heavy pressure (applying heavy pressure roughly over a practitioner who is folded up under a bed), using electric batons to shock practitioners, burning practitioners, hanging practitioners to be beaten, being dragged on the ground, and so on.

The tribulations suffered by practitioners touched the hearts of many local people. When they learned that these horrible torture methods are not only real, but are still taking place in China's forced labor camps, people expressed that they must do something to help. As practitioners' peacefulness and tolerance deeply touched people's hearts, more and more people began wanting to learn the facts about Falun Gong, and some even wanted to practice the exercises. Truth clarification materials soon ran out.

Anti-torture reenactment

A spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Association stated that the torture and killing are still rampant in China, but we have seen the light of hope. Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong has been exposed in the major media, such as the Washington Post, New York Times, and CNN. Jiang he has brought the Chinese government and people tremendous disaster for the sake of his own benefit. Chinese scholars have said that Jiang's days are short, and he will soon be put on trial for the injustices he committed. Over the past five years, Falun Gong practitioners have been exerting their efforts to help more and more people learn the facts that Chinese media have withheld or distorted about Falun Gong. They do this by distributing flyers, making phone calls, sending faxes, and writing letters. Jiang's Group has mobilized the nation's resources and strength to attempt to eradicate such a peaceful cultivation group, but his plot has destroyed itself. Five-years of suppression not only failed to eradicate Falun Gong, instead, more and more people have begun practicing Falun Gong.

The activity lasted about seven hours. Practitioners said that they would continue clarifying the truth to the public, exposing the evil, and bringing the beauty of Falun Dafa to everyone so that kind people would no longer suffer persecution and tribulations, and people would not deceived by lies.
