(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Jian worked in a bookstore in Jinan, Shandong Province. He was abducted and sent to Liuchangshan Labor Camp in Jinan City on March 2001 to serve a 3-year sentence in a forced labor camp. He was assigned to the 3rd squadron of the 2nd brigade. The captain was named Wang. Because Mr. Liu persisted in his righteous belief in Falun Dafa and refused to be "transformed" [1], the guards locked him separately in a small cell that was dark, gloomy and damp. He suffered all kinds of tortures. He was on a hunger strike when he was tortured to death.
An insider named Wang who knew Mr. Liu disclosed that the police and others once twisted Mr. Liu's arms very hard for a long period of time. They beat Mr. Liu and broke his ribs. The guards in the labor camp did not allow Mr. Liu to meet with his family members for a long time. Occasionally, when they did permit Mr. Liu to meet with his family, they kept pressuring Mr. Liu's family members and threatening them. Then they pressured Mr. Liu. However, Mr. Liu was very firm in his belief in Falun Dafa and the guards could do nothing about it. After they had locked Mr. Liu separately in a small cell for half a year, they sent him back to the squadron. Because they feared that Mr. Liu would expose how he was persecuted and that his attitude would affect those whom they had successfully brainwashed, they imprisoned him in another squadron in the 3rd brigade instead of sending him back to the 3rd squadron of the 2nd brigade where he used to be in, which was on the 2nd floor. They cut off any contact that Mr. Liu may have had with other practitioners and ordered several prisoners to watch Mr. Liu all the time. They followed Mr. Liu even when he went to the bathroom, brushed his teeth or washed his face.
Around 10 a.m. on December 28, 2001, I went from the east side of the 1st floor to the west side of the 1st floor to borrow something. I was talking to others when Lao Meng (imprisoned for stealing) came over to us and said, "Terrible! Liu Jian jumped from a floor upstairs." He walked away after he said this. This confused us. Then I heard somebody locking the gates of the building. Then we realized that the guards feared we would go out to protest and locked the entire building.
I saw through the crack between the door and its frame that policeman Feng Fei from the Discipline Section of the 2nd brigade was taking pictures of Mr. Liu Jian's body. From my position, I could only see him taking pictures, but I couldn't see Liu Jian. Soon an ambulance came. Someone lifted Mr. Liu's body into the ambulance and the ambulance left. The prisoners who were ordered to watch us called us back to our group. The guards ordered them to watch practitioners more closely.
According to information provided by insiders, Mr. Liu was pushed through a window in the bathroom on the 3rd floor after he was already dead. Warden Liu of the labor camp secretly arranged the whole thing, and Chief Wang in the 2nd brigade personally assigned someone to do it.
The windows in the labor camp are all covered with iron bars, and some were being replaced at that time. The iron bars of the window in that particular bathroom had just been taken off, and the new bars had not yet been installed. This provided an opportunity for those who persecuted Mr. Liu Jian. The labor camp claimed that Mr. Liu jumped off the building, committing suicide.
After Mr. Liu's death, Chief Wang in the 2nd brigade who was responsible for the incident was transferred from his position. The former assistant warden, Liu Yongjie, was promoted, becoming the new warden of the labor camp. The squadron that was involved in the persecution was awarded a 3rd class merit.
Practitioner Mr. Li Wutang went on a hunger strike for 6 months to protest the persecution of Mr. Liu Jian. The guards, led by policeman Bao Hongxing, deprived him of sleep and brutally force-fed him. Mr. Li suffered all sorts of tortures.
[1] The term "transform" refers to a practitioner who is coerced through brainwashing and torture by Jiang Zemin's regime to give up his belief in Falun Dafa's principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance."

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Luo Qiaohong, 28 years old, lived in Shiqiao Village in Hunan Chenzhou Jiahe County. In October 2000, she went to Beijing with her family to appeal, and was arrested and detained in the Guiyang Detention Center. After a seven-day hunger strike, she was moved to the Jiahe Detention Center, and was detained without being sentenced. During her imprisonment, she experienced all kinds of torture. Her mother and younger sister were also detained without a sentence at the same time. Her father and husband were illegally sent to a forced labor camp, leaving no family members at home to care for her youngest daughter, who was less then one year old.
Jiahe is a poor and remote mountain village. Her family members asked everyone to lend them 14,000 yuan to pay the fines. But in the end, after they had to sell the pigsty, they still didn't have enough money. Luo Qiaohong was no longer able to withstand the mental pressure, physical torture, and extreme financial difficulty. She died shortly after she was released on December 5, 2001.
(Clearwisdom.net) On April 27, 2004, another precious life left this earth. She lost her life for speaking the truth: Falun Dafa is great. She lived by the principles "Truthfulness-Compassion- Tolerance," and she refused to submit to Jiang's regime. Her name is Ms. Wang Xiuyuan, a citizen of Zhengyang Street, Shenyang City, Shenhe District.
In 2002, Ms. Wang Xiuyuan wrote a letter in which she talked about the goodness of Falun Dafa. She explained how people had benefited from practicing Falun Gong. After that, policemen came to her home and arrested her. She was sentenced to two-years of forced labor and detained at the Longshan Forced Labor Camp of Shenyang City.
In July of the same year she was thrown down heavily by Tang Yubao, a policeman of Longshan, because she refused to give up her belief. She received a serious injury when her head was slammed into the sharp edge of the metal heater. This cut was deep and bled profusely. No more details could be found about her persecution, given the severe information blockade.
Some practitioners who were detained at the same time disclosed that she suffered cruel physical and mental torture. She was not allowed to sleep, was beaten severely, suffered unspeakable physical punishment, and was forced to do hard labor. This caused her to become very weak. She suffered severe blood shortage and the contraction of her cardiac muscle became erratic. Further, she became afflicted with narrowed esophageal obstruction, and severe loss of eyesight. It became difficult for her to walk without help. The prison doctor slapped her face until her mouth was injured and bled, even though she was barely able to eat and suffered from a number of problems in her esophagus due to force feeding.
Her detention period expired on March 19, 2004, yet, the Longshan Forced Labor Camp refused to release her. Ms. Wang Xiuyuan went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Her health was weakening at an accelerated rate due to the torture. But Li Fengshi, the director of Longshan Forced Labor Camp, was instrumental in her continued detention. He demanded from Ms. Wang's family 4,000 yuan (1) for medication. Others responsible for Ms. Wang's persecution are Li Fengshi, policeman Tang Yubao and Wang Jinghui. Ms. Wang Xiuyuan was transferred to the general prison hospital of Liaoning Province after her condition became life threatening. She was not released until April 19 of 2004 and was near death upon her release. On April 27, 2004, one week after she was discharged from the hospital, she passed away.
Since the persecution started on July 20, 1999, 11 practitioners were tortured to death in Shengyang City. Another shattered family: Ms. Wang's 77-year-old mother had to suffer the pain of losing a daughter. Ms. Wang's children suffered the pain of losing a mother. All people with a conscience, who hold deep mercy in their hearts and who know the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, please speak up in unison with us: Stop the torture and murdering; stop this unprecedented national catastrophe!

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner in Qingquan County, Baoding District, Hebei Province. In November 2001, I was illegally arrested and put in the Qingquan detention center, where I met 11 female practitioners from northeastern China. After talking with them, I learned that they went to Beijing to appeal and were arrested. They were first illegally detained in the Tiananmen Police Station and then sent here, to Qingquan detention center.
They described to me how they were tortured at the Tiananmen Police Station. The police placed each practitioner in small individual cells which had a water hose hanging from the ceiling. The police stripped off practitioners' clothes and poured ice cold water on them for over a half hour. The cell was so small that a person could hardly turn around in it. In the cold winter police poured ice cold water on the heads of practitioners. The inhumane police even cut off the buttons from the clothes of the practitioners so when they were released from the cells they had to use their hands to pull their clothes together to cover their bodies.
Even while suffering such inhumane torture, these female practitioners maintained their righteous belief in Teacher and Dafa.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners of Chinese nationality who currently live in Canada, Japan and other 15 countries recently published an open letter calling on people to pay attention to the issue that their passports have been withheld or not renewed over the past few years. At the same time, travel certificates of more than 30 Falun Gong practitioners from Hong Kong have been either postponed or confiscated. The following is excerpted from a report on June 21 by Radio Free Asia's Hong Kong correspondent Yan Ming.
The Chinese Falun Gong practitioners expressed in their open letter that over the past several years, when Falun Gong practitioners of Chinese nationality sent requests to the Chinese Consulates in their country to apply for renewal of their passport, these Consulates either withheld or refused to renew them.
Practitioners from 17 countries including Canada, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Hungry and United Kingdom encountered this problem.
On Monday, June 21, a reporter called Japan where this situation is relatively serious, to learn about the issue. A practitioner with the last name of Xiao said, "Because I had been back to China, I was deported to Japan later. In the very beginning, if Falun Gong practitioners went back to China, they would be refused. At present, if they go back to China, they will be arrested. Some were barred from entering China when they went back. In addition, previously, when I went to Hong Kong, I was deported back to Japan by the Hong Kong authorities. I also experienced this. Besides, some practitioners are unable to get their passports renewed. There are more than 100 of such cases. This is only what we are aware of. There could be some cases that we don't know about."
The open letter claimed that when Chinese Consulates withhold or refuse renewal or extension of practitioners' passports, they did not show any document indicating the withholding of refusal, and they refused to provide any written explanation or document. The practitioner from Japan said that the passport issue has brought them significant problems.
Ms. Xiao: There was one time, in the very beginning, when we were not allowed to go abroad. Later, after a relatively long period of time, some practitioners probably consulted the Japanese legal department about related policy, some of them could get a kind of certificate that they can go abroad without being affected by the passport issue. This situation has been going on for quite some time. I can give a simple example. For instance, shortly before, some practitioners' visas were about to expire, it would be very dangerous for them to go back to China. Therefore, some of them applied for refugee statues.
Cosigners of the open letter believe that according to related Chinese regulations and laws, only the public security department and the institution which issued the passport have the authority to suspend or invalidate the passport. Only procuratorate and court have the authority to withhold identification cards. The Chinese Consulates' behavior violates the law.
In the meantime, in this open letter to the Chinese State Council, the Public Security Ministry, the Supreme Court and the Supreme Procuratorate, the cosigners believe that a person's nationality is a fundamental human right. Any individual, organization or government that randomly deprives a person of his or her nationality violates the "United Nations Declaration of Human Rights"
In addition, in Hong Kong, some Falun Gong practitioners' travel certificates were also confiscated or withheld. As a consequence, they are unable to go back to Mainland China. Hong Kong Falun Gong spokesperson Mr. Kan said that since 1999, about 30 to 40 practitioners, including spokesperson Mr. Chen Yongguang, have been affected.
Kan: "From our previous statistics, more than 30 Hong Kong practitioners' travel certificates were confiscated under different situations. Among them, some certificates were confiscated at customs. One of our contact persons, Mr. Chen Yongguang, had his certificate confiscated during a business trip to China.

(Clearwisdom.net) When the organizers of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo invited the Chinese army, in which many Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted, UK practitioners held a series of activities to clarify the truth about the persecution in China. Two weeks ago, when practitioners introduced Falun Dafa at the University of Glasgow, a passer-by who was working at the Scottish Parliament suggested that we could hold activities outside the Scottish Parliament when the parliament was in session. So, on the 16th of June, another practitioner and I went to the Scottish Parliament in the morning. We talked to the security personnel and were told that we were free to obtain petition signatures outside. We then began distributing materials about Falun Dafa and requesting signatures.
The pavement in front of the parliament was quite busy. Many passers-by were members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) and parliament staff. Because the Chinese Tattoo invitation had been widely reported by the Scottish media, and because the parliament has discussed this issue, too, most people already knew something about it and were quick to express their sympathy and support for us. Several MSPs also signed our petition and talked to us.
Parliament workers were also very supportive. Some said, "Because I work for the government I am not allowed to sign any petition. But I do support you." Some others felt stronger about this issue and did not care so much about such regulations. A lady turned her ID card over and signed the petition, saying, "I shouldn't sign, but I will sign it for you anyway."
On the following day, another practitioner came to Edinburgh from another city to support our petition. As a result, apart from distributing leaflets and talking to people, we could also do some exercise demonstrations. Many passers-by expressed their support, including tourists from the US, Spain and other countries. Some kind-hearted people even gave us suggestions on how to get more publicity. In the afternoon, two young ladies passed by. One of them had already signed our petition the day before. She stopped again to tell her friend about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. She was doing a good job. Obviously she had read our materials very carefully. I realized only now that her friend, the other girl, was blind. Having heard what our petition was about, the blind girl held the pen in one hand, pressed the other hand against the petition book and signed her name with quite some difficulty. It was quite a touching scene.
A few days before, the Scottish Parliament's Public Petitions Committee decided not to intervene with the invitation of the Chinese army. It looked like a setback. However, our truth-clarification activities in front of the Scottish Parliament indicated that, though there was a lot of interference, many politicians still insisted on their righteous positions. We should not be deceived by those illusions on the surface, and should continue our effort in clarifying the facts to the government. Another point worth noting is that we found many people already knew the truth behind the invitation of the Chinese army and had made a correct judgment and choice for themselves. We came to further realize the importance of clarifying the truth to the media.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Austrian Falun Dafa Information Center held a press conference in Vienna on June 17 2004 to detail a series of activities on the theme of "jointly putting an end to China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners." At the press conference, Mr. Zhao Ming, a Falun Gong practitioner from Ireland, gave an account of the cruel torture he personally experienced while imprisoned in a Chinese forced labor camp and brainwashing facility for almost two years. Mr. Chen Gang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Germany, spoke about his elder sister who was illegally imprisoned in China. The Austrian Falun Dafa Information Center talked about the activities to be held over the next few days. An appeal was made to the local community to acquaint themselves with the suffering of Falun Gong practitioners in China and to help bring the ongoing brutal murder and persecution to an end.

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of Saturday, June 19, 2004, the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China was made known to many thousands of people in the historic city of Vienna. Tourists and local citizens alike came to understand more about this traditional cultivation system, as hundreds of practitioners from Europe and the Asia-Pacific region gathered in the city to hold a series of activities.
The participants' varied nationalities reflected how Falun Gong has grown enormously since its introduction, finding its way to the hearts and minds of countless people. Sadly, it was exactly the popularity and rapid growth of Falun Gong in China which became the reason that the then-president Jiang Zemin launched his campaign of persecution, driven by jealousy, fear and political ambition.
The main activities were held in Stephansplatz, a beautiful square in the heart of Vienna, dominated by St. Stephens' cathedral, from which it gets its name. On Saturday morning, the usual multitude of passing tourists and local people were greeted not just with the elegance and beauty of the buildings, but also with the elegance and beauty of the slow-moving exercises of Falun Gong. As the hands of over 150 practitioners moved synchronously in the slow-motion pattern of the meditative exercises, many people stopped to watch, or to take a look at the nearby poster exhibition. The exhibition examined the history of the practice, the exercises, the popularity of Falun Gong in China, and the spread of Falun Gong around the world.
Many people accepted flyers and materials from practitioners, some sitting down to read them and watch the exercises as they stopped for a bite to eat at the street cafés.
As practitioners demonstrated the exercise movements, the principles behind the practice were explained in detail over a public address system. The announcer also explained how Jiang had launched his campaign of state terrorism against the practice, and the resulting misery for the tens of thousands enduring unimaginable torture in Chinese labor camps.
The atmosphere of the event was peaceful and open; many people stopped and took the time to talk seriously with practitioners about the practice of Falun Gong and the persecution in China. The tourists came from many different countries around the world, and so did the practitioners, but somehow it was always possible to find a common language to communicate in. When they understood about what was happening, people were both shocked and supportive.

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 19, 2004, an introductory seminar for Falun Dafa was held in the city of Sunne. The invitation had come from a woman who, after reading Falun Gong [Falun Dafa's introductory book], became fascinated by its profound principles and exercises and wanted to learn more.
As the five Falun Gong exercises were being taught, a pleasant and tranquil atmosphere was created, which filled the room. Afterwards, information about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China was handed out and questions answered. Practitioners also gave a copy of the book Zhuan Falun [Falun Dafa's main text] and an exercise video as a gift to the woman who arranged the event. It was also decided to hold another introductory class, as many people had wanted to come and learn Falun Gong that day, but were not able to make it for various reasons.
When being asked how it felt to perform the exercises, the attendees answered that it had been a very nice feeling and everyone said that they really looked forward to meeting up again. The practitioners were happy that more people got to experience the benefits of Falun Dafa practice.

(Clearwisdom.net) Between June 11-13, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from Hungary, Slovakia and Germany introduced Falun Dafa at a Sports Festival, which is held annually in the Hungarian capital of Budapest. The festival activities began at eleven in the morning and ended at six in the evening every day, and over two hundred thousand people took part.

Falun Gong practitioners promoted Falun Dafa, hoping to have more Hungarians encounter and experience Falun Dafa's uniqueness. Plenty of people expressed their sympathy and support for Falun Gong after hearing the truth about the persecution currently taking place in China. One day, as I was talking to a fellow practitioner about his most recent experiences in cultivation and validating the Fa, he said, "Theory is theory, reality is reality." Immediately I pointed out to him that this is an incorrect statement. This practitioner had lived through jail time, experienced tribulations and seen the severe persecution of other practitioners. Having had similar experiences, I couldn't help but wonder why this practitioner thought this way. Apparently, his understanding came from mixing Dafa with everyday people's theories. Teacher has clearly explained this problem in "Lunyu"; during our cultivation, practitioners have also proven that Dafa is definitely not the same as everyday people's theories. This practitioner's words reflected the shortcomings he sensed in his cultivation.
Then what caused this practitioner to have an everyday person's notion? How could a Dafa practitioner who chose to firmly adhere to the practice under the evil persecution become confused about this principle? Reflecting back on my own cultivation experience and similar confusion, I discovered the following reasons:
First, it is because the acquired notions were hidden very deeply. These notions often take advantage of practitioners' loopholes, interfering with our righteous enlightenment. Because of the education they received since childhood, people start learning and forming the notion of "theory" and "practicality." For instance, what they refer to "connecting theory with practice" has placed people under the impression that what is written in the books is the summation of experience--systematic theories that can only be proven true after being put into action. If true practitioners cannot root out this notion, they will wrongfully think that Dafa is also a body of knowledge and theory; thus, they cut themselves off from the inner meaning of Dafa, and therefore not experience the miracles of Dafa. The old forces even trick you into voluntarily accepting their "trials" and "tests," until they destroy you.
Second, this misunderstanding comes from not studying the Fa well, which manifests as the frequent questioning of Dafa and causes the inability to righteously enlighten. When tribulations come, we don't look inside ourselves, and yet, we still expect miracles to occur. Since the book exists in an ordinary form--black letters on white paper--we erroneously think that Dafa is indeed a theory of the ordinary world.
Third, during the process of cultivation there are always missteps, oftentimes not to our liking, and we take them as setbacks. Looking at what a Dafa disciple should have done, we are often overtaken by guilt until it slowly becomes an attachment. As a result, we feel that we still have a long way to go, which prompts our everyday people's notion that "theory is perfect, but in practice it's not always so."
Fourth, although we obtained the Fa before July 20, 1999, due to many factors during the process of validating the Fa, there were still many tribulations in various forms including "sickness karma." This caused us to realize that some of our notions were still deeply hidden. As we realized this problem we also developed another notion that "practice and theory are still far apart, it's still hard to do," or even "maybe Dafa is merely a spiritual belief." Such notions have trapped us into equating Dafa with other theories of both human society and religion. Erroneous understandings and notions have brought damage to Fa validation.
These are some understandings I have based on the experiences of the fellow practitioner and myself.
(Clearwisdom.net) In May 2001, I posted a sign saying "Falun Dafa is good" on a wall to tell people the truth about Dafa. I was arrested and sent to the Qingdao Detention Center. I went on a hunger strike to protest the arrest and was released after twenty days. In June, I was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Pingdu Forced Labor Camp. Due to the length of the persecution, isolated brainwashing, and no chance to read Teacher's new lectures, many practitioners were not clear on the Fa and lacked righteous thoughts. I felt I should share with them Teacher's new articles and help them re-establish their righteous thoughts. Since personnel working at the camp didn't know the truth, I should clarify the truth to them as well. After I had made up my mind, I proceeded with what I needed to do.
Teacher taught us that we each create our own environment; I'd do just that. First of all, I would need to get rid of my fear. After torturing me in different ways and trying false kindness, police shouted at me, "We are going to reform you whether you want it or not. Next step we will use force to reform you. We already have electric batons, handcuffs, and shackles ready." I knew what they said wasn't just to frighten me. It was real. I had seen practitioners in handcuffs and foot shackles being made to stand in half crouching positions in the "severely guarded room." I didn't know how long I would be able to sustain these tortures. I suddenly realized that Dafa practitioners have unlimited endurance.
When I first arrived at the evil den, police gave me a shot that made me feel uneasy and painful. The thought of being "reformed" (brainwashed) kept rolling into my mind, "Go ahead and be reformed and you don't have to suffer any longer." Then another thought came to me--you have waited thousands of years for the Fa, you can't walk on the wrong path just because you fear suffering. I kept saying to Teacher, "Teacher, please give me the strength. I want to be a Dafa disciple. I must be a Dafa disciple." I repeated these words thousands of times. After two to three hours, I suddenly felt relaxed and the tears flowed from my eyes. The thought of being brainwashed disappeared. I knew Teacher was saving me. Nothing could stop me from being a Dafa practitioner now. I told police, "I do not worry about life or death anymore. My mind is firm and I believe in our Teacher. I will never give up Dafa cultivation." Once I had made up mind, police then told me hypocritically, "We were just trying to scare you. We are running a civilized institute here. We would not treat you like that."
Once, police told me that if I were not "reformed" I would be sentenced to prison. Serving a prison term is not as comfortable as staying here. The persecution will be more severe. Sooner or later you will be reformed. In your situation, you are most likely to be sentenced to a four to five year prison term. Frightened, I thought to myself, "It is vicious enough here. If I were to be sentenced to a four or five year prison term, it would mean more hardship, more viciousness and there is no other way but to be reformed. But when righteous thoughts prevailed, I realized right away, "I am a Dafa cultivator and as long as I don't have these attachments, does it matter where I go; evil dares not touch me. I can do what a Dafa practitioner should do. I then said to police, "I never thought your office was cleaner than the restroom. Where I go will make no difference to me." Police then lied to me, "There won't be any sentencing. It's all for your own good. When you are reformed, you can go home and live your life your own way."
From these two incidents, I realized that once you give up the attachments (mainly fear) and lay down the attachment of life and death, evil can't do anything to you. Thus I had given up my fear and followed Teacher's teaching during the persecution, "Don't follow evils' requests and orders.
I remembered Teacher had said, "Evil fears exposure, not Dafa practitioners." Thus, I wrote down the persecution we all endured and exposed it without leaving anything out. I published article after article exposing the evils' deeds and validating the Fa. The evil was shocked. The whole forced labor camp was shocked. The camp chief and his captains all came to talk to me and hoped that I understood their situations. During a general meeting, police chief, Shi Cuihua, announced that from now on, no one would be allowed to beat me; otherwise, they would be punished by a prolonged prison term. I said, "What you did is against the law. You are the people who are to carry out the law and you should know that violating the law will be punished. You remember during the Culture Revolution, Chairman Liu Shaoqi was under attack as a capitalist overnight; his attackers claimed that evidence against him was as high as a mountain. But after a time, those who persecuted him were shot in secrecy. Don't think that you are only following orders from your superiors and that you can do anything as you wish. Doing good deeds will be rewarded and doing evil will be punished. Our Teacher taught us that if you do wrong things you will pay for it later. Shi Cuihua said, "From now on, we will not use force. We will only talk to you to reform you." Thus, in the following three to four months, they didn't use cruel torture on practitioners. They knew that without the use of cruel torture they wouldn't be able to brainwash practitioners, so they tortured practitioners secretly. I realized they were evil and couldn't be trusted. Besides writing articles to validate the Fa, I started to help practitioners establish their righteous thoughts, reciting for them Teacher's new articles. Shi Cuihua said to me, " I know that I can't reform you. Don't make any trouble for us and influence other practitioners. Let us treat each other like friends." This policewoman was very vicious and often used cruel methods to torture practitioners. As I exposed her evil deeds, her arrogance and prestige were greatly reduced. Once, the camp chief scolded her in front of practitioners. Not long after that she retired. Later, they transferred me to another brigade, and I realized that there must have something for me to do there.
Two people in charge of watching me were brainwashed practitioners. I began to write articles about the Fa-rectification, my own understanding of Dafa, to encourage practitioners to establish righteous thoughts, and to do what Dafa practitioners should do. I let the two brainwashed practitioners pass the articles to other practitioners. Other practitioners also wrote about their understandings and we shared our experiences. Since they had forgotten Teacher's lectures, I wrote down for them Hong Yin and other articles that I remembered. Practitioners began to return to Dafa cultivation and wrote their solemn declarations. Later, police noticed what had happened and sent me to a brainwashing class. They claimed the class was most effective and would reform me. After I entered the class, I used compassion and kindness to deal with everyone, including those who had been brainwashed. I didn't care how they had treated me, I had always let them have the best food and I'd do everything possible. I had established the image of a Dafa practitioner. From the captains to practitioners including the brainwashed practitioners, they all praised my behavior. I recited Teacher's new lectures for them and talked about Fa-rectification in saving sentient beings. Under my influence, three brainwashed practitioners wrote their solemn declarations and return to Dafa cultivation. Other than two or three most stubborn brainwashed practitioners who didn't dare write solemn declarations, all understood now. Police thus disbanded the so-called most effective brainwashing class to prevent more practitioners from making declarations. Police didn't dare let me make contact with others and thus sent me to the library to isolate me. They told me, " This is the best housing in the brigade. You know that we can't reform you, so you do what ever you want as long as you don't make trouble for us."
The thought of longing for an easy and comfortable life popped up then. Since my term would be finished soon, I kind of felt sorry for them. Then, I realized that this line of thinking was not righteous. The life Teacher had extended for us is not to be used passively and leisurely. When was evil merciful to us? They dared not persecute me only because I let go of my attachment of life and death, but there are so many Dafa practitioners still being persecuted. When I heard Dafa practitioners' painful moaning in the middle of the night, I could not stand it any longer. I walked into the corridor and shouted loudly, "Persecuting Dafa practitioners will bring awful retribution. Besides your faking kindness and vicious persecution, is this all you can do? Terrible retribution is waiting for you when you persecute Dafa practitioners!" My shouting was being felt like the shaking of heaven and earth that night. Police yelled with fear, "Hurry up and close the windows. Don't let others hear the shouting."
Next day, many practitioners said to me. "Good going!" Police told me, "You are not being reasonable. You bring chaos to this place. There are laws here; we are going to handcuff you." I answered, "When have you been reasonable or done things lawfully? You have deprived people of sleep for days or even months. Do you ever hear any law allowing this kind of persecution any place or even in history? Police replied, "It's none of your business! You are not the one suffering from sleep deprivation." I said, " Persecuting any Dafa practitioners is like persecuting me, as long as I am alive, I will let the whole world know that Jiang's is a gangster regime; although they are in power now, they will receive their due retribution soon!" Because I exposed their evil deeds, they were all afraid of me. When police saw me coming down the corridor, they usually turned back to the room and waited until I passed before they came out again. Wherever I went, no one dared to slander Dafa anymore. One policeman said to me in a rough manner, "Go away. We have seen enough of you. We treated you like our ancestors. Because of your occupying the library, we didn't even do our regular sanitary check there." I realized what Teacher had said in the lecture that evil wouldn't dare persecute Dafa practitioners with righteous thought and righteous deeds.
As my prison term was ending, I knew that there would be one less person to expose the evil when I left this place. So I told police, "Even after I leave, your evil deeds will still be written down, all practitioners, including the brainwashed ones, are all witnessing your evil deeds.
When my term was due, the local "610 Office" sent me home courteously. I felt deeply that all the righteous thoughts and deeds are all coming from the Fa. During my days in the labor camp, I did my best to memorize HongYin and Teacher's other lectures. The more I recited HongYin, the more I remembered. Every night I wrote down all Teacher's articles and HongYin I could memorize.
This is my experience in the labor camp. I wrote it down to share with you in order to raise our level as a whole.
(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20, 1999, when Jiang and his followers launched the persecution of Falun Gong, I went to Fuyou Street in Beijing with another practitioner. When we passed Beihai Park, we saw sentries posted every several steps. After a while, we found the Falun Dafa practitioners who were going to appeal. The practitioners were lined up neatly on the sidewalk, but they did not affect the traffic even one bit. Some people stopped to look, some of them asked what was happening. Somebody said the police had arrested several busloads of practitioners and taken them somewhere. Shortly, many military policemen were ordered to come. They stood in front of us step by step and stared at us. The practitioners co-operated with each other: the young fellows stood on the first line holding hands; the practitioners on the second line grasped tightly the clothes of the first line's practitioners; all the lines were like this. After a while, the policemen started to pull the practitioners into waiting buses, and they beat the practitioners while pulling them, one by one. The buses were filled in no time. I was separated from the practitioner who had come with me. I still held her bag. Later, she told me that she was kicked and pulled into a bus. Many practitioners stood in the bus when it departed. The practitioners told the policemen the truth of Falun Dafa, but the police did not want to listen, and they would not allow the practitioners to talk. The police told the practitioners that they would beat anyone who spoke. The practitioners were carried into the Fengtai Stadium after a long, winding trip.
All Falun Dafa practitioners are like one family: We felt kindness towards each other although we did not know each other before. We shared our food. More than 2,000 practitioners in total were taken there. The policemen separated us into groups with one or two hundred practitioners in each. We were roasting under the hot sun in the stadium.
In the afternoon, it became cloudy. The sun looked like a moon, white with brilliance. Somebody shouted: Falun. Everyone looked up. A Falun was seen rotating in the sun, clockwise and counter-clockwise, constantly changing color. The kids jumped and skipped with happiness. After a while, our Master appeared inside the sun performing big hand signs which were very beautiful. We thought maybe that was Master eliminating the evil and encouraging his disciples. The policemen surrounding us were surprised that they couldn't see it. It suddenly began to rain, and quickly turned into a storm that grew more and more violent. The practitioners held umbrellas for each other, and many practitioners were soaked.
After the rain stopped, the policemen asked us to enter the room, and asked our names and addresses. Nobody answered but only clarified the truth. The policemen finally dragged the practitioners to the buses and beat them.
The whole group of practitioners cooperated together. The police could not arrest a single practitioner. When they pushed a practitioner into the buses, other practitioners all blocked the road to stop them from leaving. As a result, they had to release the practitioner. Some practitioners jumped out from the window of the bus. Later, many more policemen were dispatched. It became darker and darker, and the police shouted through the loudspeaker non-stop, ordering practitioners to go to different places according to the district, city or province they came from. Nevertheless, not one practitioner moved. Somebody shouted: "Falun Dafa practitioners have not done anything wrong!" Then the policemen started dragging the practitioners to the bus insanely. They took the young guys away first. The practitioners refused, but the police continued to beat and pull them to the bus. Some practitioners jumped out from the window of the bus. It took the police quite a while to fill one busload of practitioners and drive the bus away. We were in the last bus; the policemen kicked and pulled us to the bus. Many shoes and bags were left behind in the stadium.
We were taken to the Shijingshan Stadium. Some practitioners kept on clarifying the truth to the police non-stop that we are good people, and asked them why they were kicking and beating us, but the policemen didn't admit to it. There were also some practitioners who got off at the Stadium and went back to Fuyou Street, but then they were arrested again. We were driven to Haidian District's Yongfeng Police Station to be registered. All the Beijing practitioners were sent back, and only those of us who came from out of town were driven back to the Fengtai Stadium. It was 2:00 am when we arrived in the stadium. There were many practitioners detained in the stadium who all came from different provinces and cities. We were later sent to a bus bound for Hebei Province. We departed in the very early morning, with our next stop being Baoding City. There was very little traffic on the way. Later, we heard that the police had stopped traffic.
When we arrived in Baoding, there were many practitioners there. After we were registered, we went to the toilet. There was a corn field there. Four female practitioners and I jumped over the wall and tried to get away. I entered the corn field alone, and they walked on the road. Later I heard the sound of motorcycles. I was not sure if the four practitioners were chased. I got out of the corn field, jumped over a wall, and then with great difficulty walked on the road from the paddy field, with so much mud on my pants and many bloody traces on my legs. I wanted to ask someone coming from the paddy field for directions, but I found he had also just escaped from the police's custody. So we walked together on the road, and finally arrived at the train station.
(Clearwisdom.net) I am one of a huge number of Falun Dafa practitioners who have been suffering from the persecution for more than four years. I spent most of my time in detention centers or traveling about homeless in other parts of the country to avoid being arrested. I have experienced ordeals along the path of cultivation in rectifying the Fa (1) with our Teacher. I have always wished to write down my experience.
In October 1999 I went to Beijing to validate the Fa with six other practitioners. At the time my husband had just come out of the hospital and was still not in good health. My mother was over eighty years old. Both of them needed someone to look after them. That was a test for me. Falun Dafa was being persecuted and our Teacher was being attacked by the lies. I thought, as a Dafa practitioner, I must step forward to seek justice for Dafa. After arriving in Beijing we studied the Fa first and clarified our purpose for coming to Beijing. In the morning, the six of us arrived on Tiananmen Square and several armed policemen came toward us. They asked, "Do you practice Falun Gong?" We answered in unison, "Yes, we practice Falun Gong." (At that time we thought to step forward and admit we practice Falun Gong is to validate Dafa.) Then I began to tell the policemen the benefits I had gained from practicing Falun Gong. One of them said something bad about our Teacher. I said to him, "Please don't ...." I meant to say, "Don't slander our Teacher!" However, before I could finish the sentence, tears started pouring from my eyes and I could not go on. The policeman was dumbstruck. We were then taken to the Fengtai Stadium in the western suburbs of Beijing. Practitioners from all over the country were being held there. I was escorted back home by the police from our local police station and was detained for fifteen days.
At the end of July 2001, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa for the second time. When I arrived at the national appeal office it was closed. I shared my understanding with other practitioners that we should not go there without doing something, so we returned to Tiananmen Square. We began to practice the exercises directly facing a police car parked fifty meters away and in front of the main gate Tiananmen Rostrum. At that time I had not even the slightest fear. Then the police jumped out of the car and ran towards us. They did not allow us to practice and dragged us into the police car. Then the police took us to a police sub-bureau where they contacted my local police station. I was taken back by the local policemen and detained for fifteen days. This time my husband wanted to divorce me while we were at the police station. I told him, "I did not do anything wrong to you or the family so I do not agree to a divorce."
In June 2001, I was reported when I went to another practitioner's home to pick up the Teacher's newly published articles so I was again detained. When my detention expired, a guard took me out of the cell and asked me at the door, "Do you still want to practice Falun Gong?" I said, "Yes. I will practice." He said, "If you want to practice, just get back into the cell." I said, "I am not afraid and I will go back." Then he gave up and said, "Come on out!" I knew it was a test for me. No one can shake my determination to practice Falun Dafa.
In October 2001, I went to Beijing for the third time. When I left home I did not tell my family so they had no idea where I was. My elder brother thought I had been taken away by the police so he went to ask those who kept surveillance on me in the neighborhood committee. Thus, the police found out I was not home for one day and two nights. When they found me, they asked, "Where have you been in the last two days? Did you go to Beijing?" I replied, "It is my right to go to other places and you have no right to ask me." It was time for me to go to work so I said to the police, "If you have nothing else, I'd like to go to work." Then I left for work. In the afternoon while I was working, the police rang my work unit and asked me to go to the police station. I knew they must have some kind of new conspiracy planned and I should not go. Since that afternoon I was forced to abandon my home and travel from one place to another in order to avoid being arrested. When the police failed to find me, they turned to my daughter who is also a Falun Gong practitioner. She was asked by her school authorities to quit Falun Gong, but she resolutely refused, so she was unlawfully expelled from school. I had no choice but to take my daughter with me to wander from place to place with another practitioner. We have been clarifying the truth and validating the Fa along the way.
On the day when my mother was cremated, the evil police thought I would return home, so they planned to trap me. I saw through their ulterior motives and made their plot fail.
While I was traveling about, I was busy with validating the Fa and clarifying the truth and neglected Fa study. The evil took advantage of this loophole and arrested me. On the third day after my arrest, officers from the police bureau came and were having a meeting on the third floor to work out plans for further persecuting me. I took this opportunity and jumped out of the window from the second floor. I ran for a while and climbed over a 6-foot wall. A policeman caught me and tried to drag me back to the police station. I struggled and tried to break free. He grabbed my arms and slammed my back against the wall. At that time, the policeman saw that I had hurt my back. At last, I was taken back to the police station and handcuffed to the radiators. At night they were afraid that I would not be able to get up if I lay down, so I had to sit on an iron chair designed for criminals locked in confinement. I told them that I hurt my back very badly, and asked how they could treat me like that. The policeman on duty said, "In that case you can use the bed in the on-duty room." On the following day, the police had prepared a car to send me a detention center. Before going to the detention center the police took me to a hospital just opposite the police station for a check up.
The check up showed that the fifth lumbar vertebra was broken. The police contacted the detention center upon getting the results. The detention center refused to take me in because they did not want to shoulder the responsibility. The police had no choice but to keep me in the police station to recover. I began a hunger strike. They watched me twenty-four hours a day, dividing up the time into three shifts with two people in each shift. While lying in bed and in pain, I did not forget the mission Dafa had bestowed on me. I started to clarify the facts about Falun Gong with each one of them. When one of the policemen understood the truth, he began to read Zhuan Falun (2) right away. I felt very happy to see that a life had been saved. Since I began the hunger strike, I sent forth righteous thought continuously day and night. I kept reminding myself that I must leave this place. On the fourteenth day, I was suddenly in a state of collapse. The security guard hurried off to find a policeman and they called in the doctor. After a consultation, the doctor told the policemen, "It is caused by a lack of potassium, which is the result of having no food for a long time. If this continues she will die." The head of the police station became very nervous when he heard this. Because the police did not want to take responsibility for my death, they decided to release me. However, they had already made arrangements to send me to a forced labor camp, so they were afraid that I might run away if I were released. Thus, the police asked my family to monitor me. After returning home, the police came to my home regularly to "show concern" about me. I knew they would not let me go. The security guards patrolled my house and kept surveillance 24 hours a day. I thought that I should not let their conspiracy succeed and that I must leave. Under Teacher's meticulous care, I brought my daughter with me, left my home and plunged back into the grand current of Fa-rectification.
I learned after I left that the evil forces offered a reward of 30,000 yuan (3) for my capture. I have been traveling from place to place to avoid arrest for more than three years. I don't have a permanent address or a permanent job, so I used this opportunity to clarify the facts to save sentient beings while working in various places. I have helped more than ten people to begin learning Falun Dafa, including a boss, a shopkeeper's wife, a landlord, and fellow employees. It is hard to endure all the difficulties and hardships, however, in thinking about these people with predestined relationships who have begun learning Falun Gong, I feel very happy in my heart and also feel very reassured. I will be more diligent in the time we have to do well the three things (study the Fa, clarify the truth, and send forth righteous thoughts) that our Teacher asked us to do and will live up to the Teacher's merciful salvation.

Tian Xin, a young practitioner who was born in the northwest of China, learned to practice Falun Dafa in Xinjiang Province together with his parents when he was 8 years old. We call him "Xinxin". He is excellent both in character and academics in school. The following are some of his experiences from practicing Falun Dafa.
During group exercise practice and study of the Falun Dafa teachings towards the end of 1998, Xinxin always had questions and experiences to share during the group study. Many times, older practitioners could not answer his questions. But we realized that by way of Xinxin's questions, Teacher was pointing out to us that we did not study the Falun Dafa principles deeply enough and needed to strive forward vigorously.
Several times when we were studying the Falun Dafa book, Essentials for Further Advancement, Xinxin said quietly: "Sometimes I saw the characters in the book in purple, sometimes in gold." Older practitioners responded: "Your foundation must be very good." After that, Xinxin studied the Falun Dafa teachings more diligently.
During an experience sharing conference in May 1999, Xinxin's parents mentioned that when Xinxin visited his grandparents once, he played "hide and seek" with his grandfather. When Xinxin hid behind the door, he suddenly saw a tiny golden Buddha the size of a palm. He shouted happily for his grandfather to come, but his grandfather could see nothing. Later he realized that Teacher let his third eye see this image in order to strengthen his grandparents' confidence so that they would study and practice more.
After that his two grandparents practiced and studied more actively. One morning when his grandmother returned from practicing the Falun Dafa exercises, she said happily that she saw a Falun revolving right in front of her. Now the two grandparents often go out to distribute truth-clarification material.
After July 20, 1999, the evil began to persecute Dafa rampantly. Facing lies and rumors churned out by endless streams of propaganda, Xinxin also had some misunderstandings and doubts. Especially during the period when the misguided government officials arrested his parents, he suffered a lot of tribulations. In recent years, after continuously studying the Falun Dafa teachings, he has gradually understood a lot. Once during Fa study, he suddenly realized that Teacher offers all sentient beings in the old cosmos immeasurable mercy and salvation in the last havoc. The old forces set up huge tribulations for practitioners and Falun Dafa due to deviated selfishness and the desire to achieve their own goals. We must deny the old force's arrangement. Since China is a huge stage, it seems Dafa disciples with righteous thoughts and acts are all Buddhas or Gods who are able to eliminate the evil.
Xinxin said: "I always follow the standard of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to be a good student in school. I will take every chance to live according to the principle of being a good person to my classmates. When the time permits, I will explain the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. I cannot be like young practitioners in the Minghui Schools established overseas. The children attending Minghiu School are permitted to study the Falun Dafa principles, introduce Falun Dafa at public events and explain the facts about the persecution happening in China. They even have the right to freely sue Jiang and his followers who are persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. However, I can validate Dafa on the huge stage of China, think and act righteously, eliminate evil, save sentient beings, fulfill my responsibilities as a Dafa practitioner in mainland China and not fail to live up to Teacher's graciousnes.
Xinxin also begged me to give his regards to Teacher since he misses Teacher very much. Hence I am giving his regards to Teacher by way of this article and conveying young Dafa practitioners' aspirations: "We miss Teacher. We must do the three things (1) well with righteous thoughts and actions and be true Dafa disciples."

(Clearwisdom.net) I live in Jinzhuo City, Liaoning Province. I never had the chance to go to school but I wrote this article myself, and it is an account of my cultivation.
I have been practicing Falun Gong for nine years. After practicing, the five or six diseases that I suffered from before were all cured, which saved a lot of money and relieved the burden on my children. People say that I am in my fifties when they see me, though actually I am already eighty. In 1995, after I had viewed Teacher's videotapes for the nine-day lectures, I got my menstrual period back while I was already seventy years old. There were all together four women at my age around me who had the same experience. Just like Teacher said in Zhuan Falun,
"Also, older women are likely to get their period back, because a practice that cultivates both your nature and longevity needs to have the qi of essence and blood to cultivate longevity."
I have personally experienced the miraculous and supernormal nature of Dafa.
I didn't get a chance to go to school and could not even write my own name. When I saw other practitioners reading Falun Dafa books, I thought, "Although I am illiterate, Teacher will arrange it for me." After studying the Fa for some time, I really was able to read the Falun Dafa books, become literate and could even write articles! I, an eighty-year-old lady, can now read and write. How miraculous! I tell you, there is no cultivation way better than this. I am an old, old lady. How lucky I am that I can obtain this Great Law. I often shed tears when I think of how lucky and happy I am.
We are cultivating a Buddha Law that is good for society and for people. Falun Gong allows more people to have a healthy body. Isn't this compassion? If Falun Gong is really bad like what Jiang and his followers described in the propaganda, why are there still so many families that practice it? And why did so many practitioners spend their own money and go appeal to the higher authorities, running the risk of being arrested, sentenced and even tortured to death. Would you say that they are foolish? They do that because they will give anything, including their lives, to safeguard Dafa.

Two Police Station Directors Receive Karmic Retribution
Hao Shushan, the former director of the Gangyaoling Town Police Station of Nanpiao District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province followed Jiang's orders to persecute Falun Gong since July 20th, 1999, and sent all the determined Falun Gong practitioners in his jurisdiction to Nanpiao District detention centers, or even to labor camps. On April 4, 2004, Hao Shushan died in a car accident on the Huludao City Gaoqiao highway.
Liu Guowen, in his forties, is the former director of the Nuanchitang Town Police Station in Nanpiao District. During his term as the director, he arrested Falun Dafa practitioners without rationality. Within a period of two years, he sent nearly 30 practitioners to labor camps. He also led his subordinates to ransack practitioners' homes, and imposed huge fines on practitioners. The amount of money he extorted from practitioners totaled at least several tens of thousands of Yuan (1). He continued this ruthless behavior until he was promoted to Director of the Rail Tax Levy Office in Nanpiao District. Only then did he ease up his attacks against Falun Dafa practitioners. However, it is an unalterable heavenly principle that good will be rewarded with good and evil will meet with evil. During the time between the end of 2002 and the beginning of 2003, Liu Guowen contracted some incurable diseases including intestinal cancer, which cost him over 200 thousand Yuan for operations and medical treatment, but to no effect. Now, he is now barely staying alive.
The Fate of Huludao City Reform Center Staff Who Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners
On April 16, 2003, the incident of Zhang Bin's death due to torture at the Huludao City Reform Center received attention on the Internet. The following persons are responsible (they are in fact criminals who persecute Falun Gong practitioners) and they cannot shirk responsibility:
Former director of Huludao City Reform Center and deputy director of Huludao Judiciary Bureau, Wang Chunyuan and deputy director of Huludao City Reform Center Yao Chuang (in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners) coerced their staff to brutally persecute Falun Gong practitioners, and caused two practitioners to be tortured to death. In mid-2003, Wang Chunyuan and Yao Chuang were both dismissed from their posts due to their involvement in the persecution of Zhang Bin. Wang Shengli, former director of Huludao Reform Center Administration Section, led the section police to shock Falun Gong practitioners with electric batons and beat them many times, causing severe injuries and even death. After Zhang Bin's death, Wang was dismissed from his post and demoted to an instructor of a team that specifically targets Falun Gong. He later developed health problems, including severe hepatitis, and had to be sent to the hospital for an operation.
Zhang Fusheng, a former staff member in the reform center's administration section, brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. He was the so-called "Most vicious man in the reform center." He was later promoted to deputy director of the administration section. In 2003, Zhang Fusheng was fired and dismissed from his police career due to corruption and bribery.
Wu Shushan, vice commissar of the reform center, was involved in coercing his staff to persecute Falun Gong practitioners after 1999. Sometime in 2000, Wu became bed-ridden due to a stroke and has never returned to work.

[Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." 1. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Yu Lihua on a Hunger Strike for Nine Days
Ms. Yu Lihua from Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province was taken to the Wuchang City "610 Office" (1) Brainwashing Center. She has been on a hunger strike for nine days to protest her detention, and the condition of her health is critical. "610 Office" Brainwashing Center agents still refused to release her: instead, they carried her to the Wuchang Jail to persecute her further.
Moreover, the Wuchang City Public Security Bureau conducted a large raid on June 4, 2004; two Falun Dafa practitioners, a married couple from the Township of Qingshan, Yushu City, Jilin Province were arrested. (Their names are unknown.) The husband escaped, but the wife was taken to the Wuchang Tuanjie Police Station. She tried to jump from the second floor, but she broke her hip. She was released on bail for medical treatment.
2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Xiao Lihua on Hunger Strike in the Jilin City Detention Center
Around 5:30 p.m. on May 24, 2004, Jilin City Dafa practitioners Ms. Wang Yugui and Ms. Xiao Lihua were arrested while they were hanging Falun Dafa truth-clarification banners in Longtanshan Park, Jilin City. Wang Yugui is being held in the Jilin City No. 1 Detention Center, and Xiao Lihua is in the No. 3 Detention Center. They both are on hunger strikes to resist the persecution.
In the beginning of June, because Wang Yugui's life was in danger, the police had to let her go home temporarily. Xiao Lihua is still conducting a hunger strike at the No. 3 Detention center.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Validate Dafa in Court
At 7:50 a.m. on June 10, 2004, the Changchun Intermediate People's Court secretly tried five Falun Dafa practitioners, including Yan Huawei, Zou Jihua and Liu Jing, all for the second time. The lawless officials maintained the original sentence.
Nonetheless, the practitioners remained calm and composed. Yan Huawei said, "Falun Gong is not a cult. There is no evidence to support this false claim and arresting practitioners on these terms is a violation of the Constitution and of the law."
Zou Jihua's defending statement was "Falun Gong is good, Falun Gong is righteous; practicing Falun Gong is innocent!" Their noble demeanor and firm belief in Falun Dafa terrified the evil and shocked the listeners! Some Dafa practitioners were sending forth righteous thoughts in the court.
4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Gao Yuge Seized While Distributing Materials
On the morning of June 6, 2004, Daqing Zhaoyuan County practitioner Gao Yuge was reported to the authorities while distributing Dafa truth-clarification materials. Songjiang Police Station police arrested Gao Yuge, ransacked his home and confiscated some Falun Dafa materials and books. Gao Yuge is being held in Zhaoyuan County Detention Center.

5. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ren Jichun Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Ren Jichun of Zhoujiazhuang Village, Taoxu Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province had to leave his home to avoid the persecution. In mid-April 2004, he returned home because his wife was about to give birth. He was reported, and a group of people from Taoxu Town rushed into his home at night and arrested him without even letting him put on a coat. His family members inquired about him everywhere, but received no news of him. His location is unknown.
6. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners from the Chengdu No. 420 Factory Arrested
On May 19, Shuangqiaozi police arrested several practitioners who are employed at the Chengdu No. 420 Factory, including Ms. Fan Meirong; Luo Hui, her mother and daughter; and practitioner Ms. Tang Ying from Dongjiao. Afterwards, Shuangqiaozi Police Station police became emboldened and more vicious. They recently arrested more practitioners from the factory, including Deng Qixiang, Ren Huijun and Du Shumei. Just to arrest one practitioner, they sent a whole group of policemen and three police cars. They even threatened to ransack all the homes of practitioners who have appealed in Beijing.

On June 9, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Hao Guangping was arrested by officers from the Daode Street Police Station while she was handing out truth-clarification materials near Daode Street, Huaiyin District. Practitioner Hao Guanghua, the elder sister of Hao Guangping, requested her release, but was then also arrested. Their homes were ransacked, and their whereabouts are unknown.
8. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Wang Junzhi Held by Hubin District "610 Office"
Henan Province Sanmenxia City resident Wang Junzhi refused to attend "brainwashing sessions" in Hubin District, Sanmenxia City, because he wanted to uphold his belief in Falun Dafa. He also handed in an "appeal statement" to the Hubin District "610 Office." In the statement, he explained that belief in Falun Gong is a citizen's right, given by the Constitution and that holding brainwashing sessions violates human rights and overrides the Constitution. Hubin District "610 Office" personnel were angered by this and after the first brainwashing program finished, they went to Wang's home on May 31 and took him to the Sanmenxia City Detention Center.

9. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] "610 Office" Members Arrest Local Falun Dafa Practitioners
On May 28, 2004, "610 Office" personnel and local policemen from Jiaohe City, Jilin Province illegally ransacked the homes of many practitioners who lived on Zhonggang Street. Ms. Wang Hui, her husband Zuo Youmin, and Yang Xiaohai were seized. They are being held in Jiaohe City Detention Center.
Wang Hui's son, who is preparing for his college entrance examination, is left home alone without care. "610 Office" personnel unexpectedly went to his school and asked the school administrators to disqualify him for the entrance examination, but by the school authorities refused.

10. [Jizhou City, Hebei Province] Xia Shige Arrested for Distributing Falun Dafa Materials
Mr. Xia Shige is a 52-year-old practitioner from Fengjia Village, Xuzhuang Township, Jizhou City, Hebei Province. He began to practice Falun Gong in 1998, and benefited physically and mentally. He exercised his constitutional right and appealed for Falun Gong in 2000, but was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor. After he was released, he started to repair bicycles for a living. On the night of March 13, 2004, he was reported by Hao Guoyi and Song Wenshui of Wangjia Village, Xuzhuang Township for distributing truthful materials about Falun Dafa and the persecution. Xuzhuang Township Police Station member Zhao Junyu and Zhou Village 2nd Squadron member participated in the arrest and in ransacking Xia Shige's home. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Five Falun Dafa Practitioners Were Recently Arrested
Since May, practitioners from the Xixiu District of Anshun City, including Ms. Jiang Chuanhui, Ms. Peng Xiuqiong and Ms. Xiong Zhongmin have been arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials. In early June, the Puding County Public Security Bureau illegally sentenced two practitioners, Ms. Yan Jiazhen and Ms. Wu Jiahui to forced labor. They were sent to the Guizhou Female Forced Labor Camp.
[Guan County, Shandong Province] The Public Security Bureau Unlawfully Sentences Practitioner Guo Zilin to Four Years in Prison
In 2001, officers from the "610 Office," headed by Xue Lianchun forcibly took practitioner Guo Zilin from Xusanlizhuang of Chengguan Town to the detention center. Guo was subjected to torture and extorted over 10,000 yuan [the average annual income of an ordinary employee in China is around 6,000 yuan]. He was released in March 2004. However, he was abducted again soon thereafter. Han Hongguan, assistant director of the public security bureau asked him for 1,000 yuan in cash. Guo Zilin has been sentenced to four years in prison.
[Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Policemen Search Falun Dafa Practitioners' Homes Without Justification
Around 3:00 pm on June 11, 2004, six people, including Fu Bing, a male clerk from Shuangqiaozi Office in Chengdu City, Huang Xiaoju, a policewoman from Shuangqiaozi Police Substation, and Wei Wei (male) illegally searched the homes of Chang Qing, Luo Yuhua and Yin Guozhi. Before that, they did an illegal search of the home of Luo Yuhua's younger sister on June 10. During the whole process, they did not show any legal documentation or explain the reason for the search. The only thing they asked was whether the practitioners were still practicing Falun Gong. They confiscated their exercise music without justification.

According to a reliable source, Zhang Jingdong has been unjustly sentenced to five years in prison for the establishment of a Falun Dafa truth clarifying material site. Ms. Han Junmiao, in her fifties, is the director of the Enrollment Office of the Educational Bureau in Xiong County and a Falun Gong practitioner as well. [Chongqing City] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners from Bishan County Are Abducted
On the evening of May 24, 2004, Huang Zaixue, Tan Hongli and another practitioner, whose name is unknown, were arrested during a police search of the home.
At about 10:30 am on May 27, 2004, a policeman from Dingjia Town went to search practitioner Liu Xiangtai's home and did not find anything. Then the policeman asked two plainclothes policemen to deliberately talk to Liu Xiangtai, who was doing business at the farmer's market. They inquired about Falun Dafa and Liu tried to explain the truth to them. The plainclothes policemen changed their attitude right away and pushed Liu into a room. Some other policemen also rushed into the room and closed the window. Liu shouted loudly that, "Falun Dafa is good!" In a panic, the policemen kicked and beat Liu violently. One person heard the shouting from outside and pushed open the window. He shouted, "Do not beat good people!" "Do not beat good people!" People in the market started to come over. The police immediately removed Liu Xiangtai from the market area.
[Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Xiao Yahuo Is Sentenced to Two Years in a Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Xiao Yahuo from Zhanjiang City, works in Guangzhou City. On March 11, 2004, he was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying flyers in the city and was unlawfully taken to the Guangzhou Detention Center. On March 17, 2004, Luo X from the Zhanjiang Public Security Bureau, together with some other people, escorted Xiao Yahuo back to Zhanjiang City. They kept him in custody in the Mazhang District No.2 Detention Center in Zhanjiang City. During his confinement, Xiao Yahuo was subjected to all kinds of torture. Consequently, he was severely injured and became extremely weak. Luo X extorted over 3,000 yuan from Xiao's family members using various excuses. On April 24, 2004, Xiao Yahuo was taken to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-year term.
[Langfang City, Hebei Province] Song Jiangguo Is Transferred to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Song Jiangguo lives at #3, Row 5, Street 2, in Yongheyuan, Sanhe City, Hebei Province. He was detained at the Tangshan Forced Labor Camp, where he went on hunger strike to protest for over 20 days. By the end of May, he was transferred to Team No.2 of Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. He may be still on a hunger strike. His life may be in grave danger.
[Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ten Falun Dafa Practitioners Are Illegally Sentenced to Prison
In early May of 2003, a family truth-clarifying material site was sabotaged in Chao'an County. At least twenty Falun Gong practitioners were implicated. Among them, Ms. Lin You'e was sentenced to a forced labor camp and at least six other people became homeless and destitute in order to avoid illegal detention. Ten practitioners were sentenced to prison early this year. Their names, ages and prison terms are as follows:

Solemn Declaration
As I did not know much about Falun Gong, with coercion from the village leaders, I signed the "five statements" [1] for my parents in the summer of 2002. Later, with the improved understanding of Dafa and contact with Dafa practitioners, I deeply realized that Dafa is good and it leads people towards compassion. I deeply regret my behavior and hereby specifically declare: I have seriously realized my wrong behavior at that time. Solemn Declaration
I'm a family member of a Falun Gong practitioner. Once the District Political and Legal Committee forced the practitioners to write certain statements. They also forced the family members to write the "guarantee statement," otherwise the practitioner would not be allowed to return home. I did not have a clear understanding about Dafa at that time, so I wrote the guarantee statement and said things that were negative of Dafa. Since then I have always felt guilty and felt sorry for what I have done towards Falun Dafa and Master, but I did not know how to make up or repent. Persecution Facts
Guangdong province Yangjiang prison detains twenty some Falun Gong practitioners. Two among them, Mr. Chen Wenjie and Mr. Li Jinghui were violently persecuted by convicts as instigated by prison police. Both of them are in critical condition now.
Jinzhou (Liaoning Province) practitioner Mr. Liu Wansheng has been on a hunger strike for more than fifty days protesting his unlawful detention at Jinzhou forced labor camp. His elderly mother went together with her daughter-in-law Ms. Zhou Hua (also a practitioner) to the camp to visit Mr. Liu. The camp police refused to allow them see Mr. Liu and then put Ms. Zhou in custody as well. Later the camp colluded with Jinhua Police Station to transfer her for further detention. Ms. Zhou Hua's whereabouts are unknown.
My name is Jia Jingwen and I am a male practitioner at Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. For practicing Falun Gong, I have been forced into detention many times and tortured by brutal hitting and beating. On October 27, 1999, due to my appealing in Beijing, I was abducted to Longfeng Guesthouse for punishment. Jinhua police station head Wan Hui and policeman Luo Ying, together with others, forcefully undressed me and then whipped my private part with a belt while Luo was shouting, "We are hooligans." Huang Dawei incited some policemen to insert a stinky sports shoe into my mouth, forcing me to take in the rotten smell. They also tied my private parts with a string, and then they violently jerked the string upward. This type of persecution lasted for a long time until I vomited. On April 27, 2004, for hanging a Falun Dafa banner, I was arrested and two days later sentenced to forced labor at Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp. Since then, I have been on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.
My name is Zhang Sujie, and I am a practitioner from Liaoning province Huludao City. After July 20, 1999, all those who had practiced Falun Gong in our village were taken to the local police station for torture. On June 20, 2000, I went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to peacefully appeal, but was unlawfully detained for one month under the accusation of "disturbing public security and destroying social order." Then they transferred me to the village government where I was held in custody for seven days while I suffered tremendous physical and mental abuse. My family members were extorted 1,000 yuan (1) as bail for my release.
I am Wang Shuqian, a 76 year old retired ex-officer of a construction company in Xianning City, Hubei Province. Since July 20, 1999, due to my firm cultivation practice of Falun Gong, I have been abducted many times by the public security bureau. From May 24 to the end of October 2000, I was under house arrest for five months. On July 10, 2002 for meditating by the roadside in front of the TV tower, I was taken into interrogation by Wenquan No. 1 Bridge police station. The next day, I was sent home under guard and they locked my front door to prevent me from getting out of my apartment.
Practitioner Mr. Kong Xiantong is a resident of Xuzhang Village, Wennan County, Xintai City, Shandong Province. He previously had illnesses such as lower back and leg pain, stomach trouble, chest pains, constipation, and rectal bleeding. After practicing Falun Gong, he became healthy without any need from medicine. On October 27, 2002, he was taken by force to Xintai City police station for keeping some Falun Gong materials that he found at home. After one month of detention, Mr. Kong was transferred to Zibowangcun Forced Labor Camp for forced brainwashing.
Bad Deeds of Bad Men
While Ms. Zhang Yuxiu of Meijiang District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province was walking to the market, several men suddenly jumped out of a car and took her by force into a vehicle. People on the street did not dare to utter a word because they thought that this kidnapping was the Chinese mafia committing a physical assault. Later it was discovered that it was the local "610 Office" (2) that abducted Ms. Zhang for practicing Falun Gong. One month ago, in Longtian Town, Xingning County, Meizhou City a farmer practitioner by the name of Yuan Yumei was also abducted on the street by "610 Office" personnel. Ms. Yuan is still in custody somewhere.
On the early morning of December 27, 2003, Su Wei from the Linyi City brainwashing center and Xin Yongnong from the Lanshan district "610 Office" ganged up with about 20 others and broke into practitioner Ms. Duan Jiazhi's (32 years old) home in Linyi Dongmiao Village. They tried to abduct Ms. Duan to the brainwashing center for persecution. Upon her resistance, Su walked up to Ms. Duan and tried to strangle her with his hands. Ms. Duan was pushed down onto the bed and almost passed out. Su Wei inserted some rags into her mouth and used a quilt to wrap up her body. Then they took her away by force to the brainwashing center.
