Four Practitioners in Yongzhou City, Hunan Province Illegally Sentenced to Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of June 2003, many banner with the words, "Falun Dafa is Good" were hung up in every district of Yongzhou City. The City Police Department sent out many officers to search the homes of Dafa practitioners. They rushed into Li Wenxiang's home without showing any legal documentation, and forcibly abducted him. He was taken to Lengshuitan Detention Center for illegal imprisonment, where he has been held for 10 months. Other Dafa practitioners abducted at that time include Liu Shixiu, Zhou Wenxuan, and Zhang Laixiu.

Mr. Li Wenxiang, 54 years old, works and lives at the Refractory Materials Plant. He began to practice Falun Dafa in 1998. Since practicing, his health has been good and his family life has been harmonious. He continued practicing Falun Dafa after the persecution began in July 1999.

During his illegal detention, Li Wenxiang has been suffering continuous severe abuse at the hands of the police. His health is very poor now. According to personnel in the detention center, Li Wenxiang is extremely sick, but the detention center is planning to send him to a forced labor camp. Mr. Li has been barred from his work unit and his salary has been terminated. Because Li Wenxiang has lost his source of income, his family is suffering severe financial hardship.

Currently, Li Wenxiang has been sentenced to a three-year forced labor term. He will soon be sent to a forced labor camp in Changde City, Hunan Province.

The names and length of sentences of the other three practitioners are as follows: Ms. Liu Shixiu has been sentenced to five years of imprisonment. She is currently held in the Changsha Female Prison. Mr. Zhou Wenxuan has been sentenced to a one-year forced labor term. He is held in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Changsha City. Ms. Zhang Laixiu has been sentenced to a one-year forced labor term. She is held in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City.

Feng Qiaoqiao, Deng Sanlong's wife, head of the Passport Section in the Yongzhou City Police Department.

Jiang Yuansheng, director of the local "610 Office" [the "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems].
