Defamation Case Over an Untrue Report At the end of 2000, Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Xiaowen from
Luohe City, Henan Province went to Beijing to validate Dafa and was later
detained. During her detention, an in-house magazine issued by Luohe City's
Shuanghui Corporation published an untrue report about Chen Xiaowen. This report
defamed Falun Dafa and incited hatred in the public against Dafa. In order to
rectify the situation and restore Falun Dafa's reputation, Ms. Chen Xiaowen
brought the Shuanghui Corporation Magazine's Editing Department before the court
at the end of 2003. In February 2004, the court ruled in Ms. Chen Xiaowen's
favor. After several internal debates, the verdict ordered the Shuanghui Editing
Department and the responsible person to apologize to Chen Xiaowen and
compensate her. 2. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Jia
Songtao is Sentenced to Five Years Imprisonment and Suffers from Excruciating
Tortures In December 2002, Dafa practitioner Mr. Jia Songtao from
Anshan Steel Company's Semi Tandem Rolling Factory clarified the truth to his
co-workers and sent someone a New Year's card. A coworker then reported him to
police. The people in charge of the Semi Tandem Rolling Factory were ambitious
in receiving political favors and promotions by persecuting Falun Gong. They
collaborated with the city's police department and had Dafa practitioner Jia
Songtao secretly arrested. They tortured him, ransacked his home and detained
him for eight months, only because they found some Dafa materials at his place.
Jia Songtao refused to give up his belief and resisted their persecution. He was
thus beaten so badly that two of his ribs were broken. The police didn't provide
him with any medical treatment and claimed, "He won't die from it." In December
2003, Jia Sontao was unlawfully sentenced to five years imprisonment. At present
he is being held in Dalian City's Prison. 3. [Beijing] Doctoral Candidate Zheng Xujun from the China
Electric Power Research Institute Becomes an "Illegal Resident" After his
Release Mr. Zheng Xujun, a Ph.D. candidate from the China Electric
Power Research Institute, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing. He was
sentenced to forced labor only because he practices Falun Gong. In December
2003, after Zheng Xujun was released from the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in
Beijing, the officials at the Institute refused to accept him. Three years ago,
the officials from the China Electric Power Research Institute expelled Falun
Gong practitioner Zheng Xujun. They even secretly transferred Zheng's household
registration out of the Institute. As they didn't follow normal procedures,
Zheng Xujun's household registration became invalid and he has become an
"illegal resident." Zheng Xujun is presently in a very difficult situation. No
one in China can apply for an ID card without a household registration, and
because he cannot obtain ID, Zheng Xujun can't find employment. This is another typical case of Jiang's persecution policy
against Falun Gong practitioners in which he has directed, "Defame their
reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically." 4. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Liu
Xiufen Suffers Repeated Persecution for Persisting in Her Belief Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Xiufen from Chaoyang City lives in
Erqiyingzi Village, Longcheng District, Chaoyang City. In 1999, she was
sentenced to one year of forced labor in Liaoning Province's Masanjia Forced
Labor Camp, only because she refused to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. Liu
Xiufen again refused to give up her belief in the camp and had her term extended
for one more year. One month after her release in 2001, police again came to her
house to harass her. As Liu persisted in her belief, the Masanjia Forced Labor
Camp again extended her term by three months. On January 17, 2003, when Liu
Xiufen was released, she went to Beijing to validate the Fa and clarify the
truth to the public. The authorities again seized her and took her back to
Chaoyang City. 5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Dafa Practitioner Jin Ling is
Arrested At eight o'clock in the evening of March 2, 2004, policeman
Zhan Shiquan (formerly from the City West Police Station) together with six or
seven policemen from Hefei City's Police Department broke into Dafa practitioner
Ms. Jin Ling's parents' place. They forcibly took her to the Wulidun Police
Station without a warrant. She is now held at a detention center. Personnel who
participated in the arrest included Sun Jingui, Yang Guolin, Jiang Weizhong (Xiyuan
Police Station chief) and others. That same night, this gang of people went to
practitioner Ms. Wang Yuefang's home. As nobody was in, they climbed over the
wall, broke in and ransacked the house. 6. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Dafa Practitioner Luo
Yongqin is Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor Dafa practitioner Ms. Luo Yongqin, 54 years old, is a nurse
at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Guiyang City's Chinese Medicine
Hospital. On the afternoon of January 5, 2004, personnel from Guiyang City's Xi
Police Station arrested Luo while she was distributing some truth-clarifying
materials. She was first detained for 15 days in Baihua City and then forcibly
taken to Guizhou Province's Female Forced Labor Camp for a term of three years. 7. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Huang Guodong and
Other Dafa Practitioners are Held at the Jianshanzi Prison Dafa practitioner Huang Guodong is still held at Heilongjiang
Province's Jianshanzi Prison. More than 30 Dafa practitioners are being held

Xie Jinyuan and Wang Huoxiu Practitioner Ms. Xie Jinyuan and Ms. Wang Huoxiu are from
Lianyu Township, Qidong County, Hunan Province. On February 19, 2004, the local
police arrested them when they were distributing truth-clarifying materials.
They are now detained at Qidong County's Detention Center, where they have been
beaten and tortured. 9. [Wuchang City, Hunan Province] Arrest of Practitioner Gao
Shunqin Practitioner Ms. Gao Shunqin lives at No. 2 Street in the
Wuchong Residential area, Fruit Lake, Wuchang City, Hunan Province. At around
2:00 p.m. on February 27, 2004, police from the Fruit Lake No. 2 Police Precinct
and the No.1 Section of Wuhan City's Police Department followed her to
practitioner Chen's home and arrest her. The police had tailed her for couple of
months. Gao was very assertive. Upon the arrest she repeatedly spoke these words
loudly, "Falun Dafa is good." The police slapped her across the face several
times and forcibly pushed her into a police car. Ms. Gao is presently being
detained at the Erzhigou Female Detention Center, Dongxi Lake. Prior to this arrest, practitioner Chen had been arrested and
her room was ransacked. Several Dafa practitioners were arrested at a nearby Dafa

Sentence of Practitioner Zhang Yaqing; Arrest of Ms. Zhao Yujian Practitioner Zhang Yaqing lives at Tiexi, Fula'erji District
of Qiqihar City. In March 2004, police from Fula'erji Police Precinct arrested
sent and sent the practitioner to Qiqihar City's Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp for
a year of forced labor. Additionally, in January 2004, someone reported practitioner
Ms. Zhao Yujuan from Fulaerji to police when she was distributing
truth-clarifying materials. The police arrested her and tortured her a whole day

Wenyan and Jiang Fawen 11. [Jiyuan City, Henan Province] Arrest of Practitioners
Wang Peiling, Du Guiju and Liu Jieyun On February 25, 2004, practitioners Ms. Wang Peiling, Ms. Du
Guiju and Ms. Liu Jieyun from Jiyuan City's Zhongyuan Special Metal Factory,
Henan Province, went to a nearby village to clarify the truth of Falun Gong.
They were reported to the police. Lawless officials from the city's "610
Office," officers from the National Security Team of the city's Police
Department and from the Xiaozai Police Precinct arrested the three practitioners
and ransacked their homes. The police confiscated some new Dafa articles.
Seventy-year-old Wang Peiling was detained at the city's detention center and
Liu Jieyun's whereabouts are unknown. 12. [Liaoning Province] Practitioner Wu Xuesheng Goes on a
Hunger Strike to Protest the Persecution Wu Xuesheng, 36 years old, lives in the Fangyuan Residential
Area of the Dongling District. On December 4, 2003, he was sent to the Masanjia
Forced Labor Camp. Because Wu's blood pressure was only 60/40 mmHg, the prison
officials were afraid to take responsibility and sent him back home. At 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2004, five policemen from Dongling
District's Lingyun Police Precinct first went to see whether or not Wu Xuesheng
was home. Confirming that he was at home, a dozen policemen led by the local
"610 Office" chief Chu from Dongling District's Prison and warden Yu forcibly
put Wu Xuesheng into the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp during the night. On January
8, 2004, Mr. Wu was transferred to the Dongling Prison. On January 17, 2004, Wu
Xuesheng started a hunger strike to protest his detention. Then officials of the
prison sent 50 pounds of rice, flour, 10 pound of cooking oil and 8 pounds of
meat to Wu's mother and asked her to persuade Wu to give up his belief in Falun
Gong. Wu Xuesheng said, "I did not violate the law and my practice of
Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is not wrong. I will not eat any food meant

Shuang and Others in the Shuihua Forced Labor Camp Practitioner Mr. Yu Shuang is a surgeon at the hospital
affiliated with the Longfeng Thermal-Electrical Factory Hospital from Daqing
City's Petroleum Administration Bureau. At present, he is being detained at the
Suihua Forced Labor Camp. Recently, it was said that Yu Shuang and several other
determined Dafa practitioners were so brutally tortured that their lives are in
danger. They are having difficulty even speaking and walking. 14. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Arrest of
Practitioner Gong Yajie At 8:00 a.m. on February 27, 2004, policemen from the Qingxin
Police Precinct at Rang District's No. 6 Factory forcibly packed practitioner
Mr. Gong Yajie from Daqing City's No. 6 Petroleum Factory into a police car and
took him away. Three policewomen from the Rang District Police Precinct and Li
Zhiyou from the Qingxin Police Precinct participated in the arrest. 15. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of
Practitioner Miao Jun into a Detention Center On February 18, 2004, policemen from the Diaoyutai Police
Precinct put practitioner Mr. Miao Jun from Xingcheng City's Bingliao area into
Xingcheng City's Detention Center for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. The

Chen Changping at Xinbing County's Detention Center Practitioner Ms. Chen Changping lives in Jiahe Village,
Yongling Town, Xinbing County, Fushun City. In February 2004, Teng Zhijun, the
village head, saw Ms. Chen Changping clarifying the truth about Falun Gong.
Afterwards, village head Teng reported Ms. Chen to the police. At present, Dafa
practitioner Ms. Chen is being detained at Xinbing County's Detention Center. Teng Zhijun: 86-413-5144160 (home) 17. [Duolun County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Arrest
of Practitioners Du Yufang, Xu Shulan, Hao Jingxia, Wang Xiuying At 9:00 p.m. on March 3, 2004, officers from Duolun County's
Police Department in the Inner Mongolia AR ransacked many practitioners' houses.
Practitioners Ms. Du Yufang, Ms. Xu Shulan, Ms. Hao Jingxia, Ms. Wang Xiuying
were arrested. On March 4, 2004, policemen attempted to send these practitioners
to a forced labor camp and issued the sentencing certificate for forced labor.
But these four practitioners resisted the persecution attempt with the power of
their righteous thoughts, and the plot failed. They have been on a hunger strike
for four days in the detention center. During the force-feeding, one
practitioner vomited a lot of blood and was reported to be in critical

persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in
