Solemn Declaration
I am a middle school student. When I was in elementary school, I signed my name on a sheet that said, "I will not practice Falun Gong." I hereby declare null and void everything I have said or done against Falun Dafa in the past. From now on I will follow Teacher closely and assist our Teacher in the Fa-rectification. I will do the three things well to make up for any loss I have caused Dafa.

Solemn Declaration
Several years ago I was very young and under a lot of pressure from school. I did something a Falun Dafa practitioner shouldn't have done. Now, I continue to make progress in my cultivation through studying the Fa. I understand what I did in the past was wrong and that Falun Dafa is not what they told me then. Now I have much regret. I completely negate the Old Forces's arrangements and I will walk on the path arranged by Teacher. I solemnly declare what I have done against Falun Dafa to be null and void. From now on, I will study the Fa diligently. I will clarify the truth to those people who might not know the truth about Falun Dafa, save sentient beings, persist in my practice, follow Teacher home by becoming a qualified young practitioner. It's no use to say any more without doing it. Please believe in me. I will do it. Please watch my actions.

(Clearwidsom.net) Mr. Li Jingjie was 41 years old. He was from Baoning Town, Langzhong City, Sichuan Province. In 2001, Li was arrested after he was reported to the authorities while attending an experience-sharing meeting conducted by other practitioners. At the office of the National Security Brigade of the Public Security Bureau in Langzhong City, he was severely tortured with electric batons by Hu Tianjuan, Wang Qi, Liu Menghua, He Zhengyuan, Li Zheng and Hou Guosong, which caused him to jump from the third floor. His backbone was fractured from the fall, and both of his ankles were badly injured. Even after hospital treatment, he was still unable to walk.
After he came back home from the hospital, policeman Hu Tianjuan went to his house to harass him. Under the physical and mental persecution, he passed away at 7 pm on November 17, 2004.
(Clearwisdom.net) On November 13, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yin Genwang from Beixi Village of Xicun Township, Shenzhou City, Hebei Province, died due to the persecution.
Mr. Yin Genwang turned 69 in 2004. He has actively distributed truth-clarification materials after Jiang's regime began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Consequently, his house was unlawfully ransacked. As some Falun Dafa books and other Falun Dafa materials were found, he was brutally beaten by Director Xiu Zhancheng of Police Station of Xicun Township, Shenzhou City, and police officers Wang Jitao, Cheng Tongwei, Huang Wenju. They also extorted 1,000 yuan from Mr. Yin.
Subsequently, Mr. Yin was taken to a brainwashing center, where he was detained for more than one month. Director Xiu Zhancheng and police officers Wang Jitao, Cheng Tongwei and Huang Wenju repeatedly and unlawfully interrogated Mr. Yin after the brainwashing. On November 13, 2004, Mr. Yin passed away as a result of the persecution.

Mr. Zhu Xizhen, 55 years old, is a farmer from Huangma Township, Nanchang County, Jiangxi province. On September 23, 2004, while he was visiting friends and relatives, the police illegally detained Mr. Zhu at the police station in Huangma Township. Two days after he was sent back home, he lost consciousness and died on December 7, 2004.
Mr. Zhu's home was ransacked twice by the local police officers in Huangma Township, in February of 2001 and in December 2003. He was also sent to a forced labor camp in the city of Nanchang. In the forced labor camp, he suffered brutal force-feedings and other tortures. His body and mind were severely damaged.
In March of 2004, Mr. Zhu was released from the forced labor camp, but he was still monitored and harassed by the police for a long time. On September 23, 2004, while visiting friends and relatives, he was illegally detained at the police station. He died on December 7, 2004. According to eyewitnesses, police officers sent Mr. Zhu back home in two vehicles. The policemen told his family members, "He is all right." Two days later Mr. Zhu's mind became unclear and he lost consciousness. It is suspected that the policemen may have either put some harmful drugs in Mr. Zhu's food or injected him with some drugs while in police custody. Further investigation is underway.

Ms. Dong Guang'e had to leave home to avoid being further persecuted by the 610 Office and the police. After sustaining severe physical and psychological injuries, she passed away on November 30, 2004.
Ms. Dong, 40, began practicing Falun Dafa in 1999. She had twice appealed in Beijing. She was detained at the Honghu No. 1 Detention Center and then the No. 2 Detention Center.
On March 15, 2004, the local 610 Office and Xindi Town policemen attempted to abduct Ms. Dong from work. Fortunately, someone informed her beforehand, and she escaped. The 610 Office kept on pursuing her, and Ms. Dong had to abandon her home. She passed away on November 30, 2004. On October 15, 2004, another practitioner, Chen Heping, also died due to persecution.
According to internal information, the Hubei Province government has set a quota for Honghu City for sending Falun Gong practitioners to brainwashing classes. For each practitioner sent to a brainwashing class, his or her employer will receive a 6000-yuan reward. Subsequently, Honghu City officials started to abduct and persecute practitioners.

On March 5, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioners in the city of Changchun, Jilin province, broadcasted TV programs that clarified the truth about Falun Gong over the Changchun cable TV network. Mr. Lei Min, from Jiangyuan County, Baishan City, Jilin Province, was one of the practitioners who participated in the broadcast. He was illegally sentenced to 17 years in prison and is currently locked up in Jilin Prison. He was tortured to the point of developing pulmonary tuberculosis.
The policemen in Jilin prison sent Lei Ming to the hospital for treatment. In late November, the police informed Lei Min's family to fill out some paperwork and take Lei Ming home for further medical treatment. Lei Min's parents are more than 60 years old and in poor health. After hearing the bad news about their son, they had to endure their own health problems (hypertension) and handle the procedures to bail Lei Ming out for further medical treatment. However, after they went through all the trouble and finally located Lei Min, the police told them that Lei Min's condition had improved and would not allow them to take Lei Ming home for treatment.
The purpose of the TV signal interception was the let the people know the facts about Falun Gong and restoring to them the right to know the truth. Lei Ming should never have been arrested in the first place, and now he and his family are going through protracted difficulties due to the illegal arrest.
(Clearwisdom.net) The Zhengzhou City Shibalihe Women's Labor Camp confines Falun Gong practitioners to three main divisions. Newly arriving practitioners are first confined in the "trumpet" division. Assigned to monitor the practitioners 24-hours a day, two drug-addicted inmates impart frequent beatings, curses and insults. Collaborators were employed to brainwash practitioners. Their goal was to create doubt and "reform" them. If they refused to renounce Falun Gong, the drug-addicted inmates were ordered to punish the practitioners with vicious beatings, which entailed kicking, slapping, spitting in their faces, and personal insults. If practitioners cried or yelled during this punishment, dirty sanitary pads were stuffed into their mouths. Every day at seven a.m. practitioners were bought to the workshop. With the exception of a half-hour lunch break at noon, practitioners were forced to work continuously until 10 p.m. Criminal inmates tortured those who were unable to complete the assigned work after working hours.
Because practitioner Zhang Yulan could not bear the long hours of hard labor, she was punished with sleep deprivation. Other inmates were instructed to monitor her to prevent her from falling asleep.
Practitioner Ms. He Junying, over 50 years old, was punished in the "trumpet" division for two months just for writing the statement "Transformation is wrong." To avoid obvious evidence of maltreatment, prison guards arranged for several drug-addicted inmates to stomp and jump on Ms. He's abdomen. By the time she was transferred from the "trumpet" division, her internal organs had hemorrhaged and swelled up from this torture. In order to avoid responsibility in case she died, she was released from the labor camp "on bail for medical treatment."
Another practitioner Ms. Yu, over 30 years old, was brutally tortured by criminal inmates for refusing to write the Guarantee Statement to renounce the practice of Falun Gong. In April 2004, drug addicts Wang Xiaohua from Xuchang City, Wang Shan from Zhengzhou City, and Yang Mayqing from Kaifeng City forced a toothbrush inside Yu's vagina and twisted it around. Afterwards, the same toothbrush was stuck into her mouth to brush her teeth. When she refused to cooperate and started yelling out, they stuffed a used sanitary pad into her mouth to silence her protest.
Practitioner Chen Lijun was tortured in this division until her body was disfigured. She was released from the labor camp for medical treatment but died soon after.
All of these crimes committed by the prison inmates were specifically authorized by Jia Meili, the Three Main Divisions' Chief, with approval from upper management. This woman, notorious for her cruelty, was considered a "model leader" for the labor camp staff. Two other especially vicious supervisors, Hu Lina and Cui Ying, were given the task of "transforming" practitioners. Other key accomplices in the persecution of practitioners were Ren Yuanfang, the political instructor, and Hu Zhaoxia and Zheng Yufeng, the deputy division leaders. All of these people are directly responsible for the vicious persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. They consistently used isolation tactics to punish practitioners determined in their belief. Making false promises to entice practitioners to compromise and other tricks to deceive genuine practitioners were also commonly practiced.
According to the labor camp's policy, practitioners' family members are forced on visiting days to write a vile statement slandering Falun Gong and its founder.

Mrs. Hao Yutian
Tiefa city, Liaoning province
Born in 1951
Hometown: Qianshi Mountain, Dalong Mine
Before she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, Mrs. Hao Yutian had many diseases including hypertension, high blood fat, high blood sugar, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, brain thrombosis symptoms, and numbness in her limbs. She also fainted occasionally due to her physical infirmity. She took medicine regularly, could not perform normal housework, and brought hardship to her family.
Falun Dafa cured all of Mrs. Hao's diseases, and she could take care of herself again. Her family was quite delighted. Mrs. Hao told many people that Falun Dafa was good and that it gave her a second life. Knowing the goodness of Falun Dafa, Mrs. Hao went to Beijing to appeal right after the onset of the persecution in July 1999. She was sent back to Tiefa city and detained for fifteen days. She was also fined 5000 Yuan. Mrs. Hao was forced to report to the police station everyday. During the detention period, the police searched her house. The police continued to harass her on holidays and politically sensitive days. However, Mrs. Hao refused to relinquish Falun Dafa. The police sent her to a detention center in December 1999 and detained her there for over twenty days.
The police also harassed Mrs. Hao and her family many times, even on New Year's Eve, causing her much distress. The police threatened to withhold her husband's pension, their only income. Due to constant pressure and hounding from the police, Mrs. Hao's old illnesses resurfaced in March 2001. She developed a severe case of brain thrombosis and passed away in late 2001.
(Clearwisdom.net) On December 20, 2004, oral arguments were heard by the New York Supreme Court in the case of the public assault of Falun Gong practitioners. Liang Guanjun (closely affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party) and others were charged with the public assault of Falun Gong practitioners outside New York Chinatown's Yidong Restaurant in June 2003. Liang Guanjun, Hua Junxiong, Huang Keqiang and accomplices are charged with six counts of criminal activities: battery, assault, conspiracy, defamation, intent to inflict emotional distress and violation of civil rights.
Defense attorneys requested that the court dismiss the lawsuit on all counts.
The Oral Argument
On Monday of December 20, 2004, the day of the hearing, the court was filled to capacity. The judge noted that the defendant's attorneys and his associates four attorneys were present, as well as plaintiff's attorney Lana Han, representing the more than thirty Falun Gong practitioners seated in the audience. The hearing took close to an hour.
The defense attorneys led the introduction. They stated that Falun Gong practitioners were appealing to Chinese diplomats outside of Yidong Restaurant. It was apparent that the practitioners wished to convey a message to the Chinese government, to stop persecuting Falun Gong. Defense attorneys refuted the six crimes that their clients had been charged with.
The judge interrupted the defense attorney's presentation, reminding him that peaceful appeals are a legal way to present one's opinion, that they are appropriate under the law and are protected by law.
The judge asked the plaintiffs' attorney certain detailed information concerning the lawsuit. Attorney Han explained the reasons for the plaintiffs charging Liang and his associates with the six crimes, and described the attack and the physical and mental harm done to the plaintiffs.
The judge denied Huang Keqiang's attorney's request to address the court. The attorney did not follow New York law and court procedures, under which data and evidence have to be presented.
The plaintiffs' attorney requested leave of the court to add additional evidence to the charges and file an amended complaint. The judge granted an extension to add additional evidence to the charges concerning the crimes by Liang Guajun and his associates. Once the amended complaint is filed, the same judge will hear the amended charges.
Stop the Persecution that has been exported to the United States
After the Independence Day Parade in New York in 2004, Liang Guanjun, Hua Junxiong, Huang Keqiang and Peter Wong were served a summons from the New York State Supreme Court. The summons was for the complaint of plotting and group attack of Falun Gong practitioners appealing peacefully on June 23, 2003.
Attorney Han said, "The U.S. is a country governed by the rule of law. Those who assault others will not escape justice. The Falun Gong practitioners' legal rights are protected by law. It is a tool to prevent the exportation of the CCP's unlawful persecution of Falun Gong to U.S. soil."
Liang Guanjun attempts and fails to escape justice
Clearwisdom reported on June 27, 2003 that around 11 pm on June 25, 2003, Liang Guanjun, president of the United Chinese Association of Greater New York, Inc. (UCAGNY), was served with a criminal summons by the sheriff of the Fifth Precinct of New York.
On June 23, 2003, the gang beating occurred outside the Yidong Restaurant, located in New York's Chinatown. Liang Guanjun and his associates were hosting a banquet there for Wang Yingfan, a departing Chinese UN ambassador and Zhang Hongxi, the Consul-General from the Chinese Consulate in New York City. Falun Gong practitioners appealed outside the restaurant and distributed truth-clarifying materials, in the hope that the visiting officials would take the practitioners' appeal back to China's ruling regime. Liang Guanjun and his accomplices accosted and attacked the practitioners outside the restaurant.
In the afternoon of June 25, 2003, the complaint was originally dismissed, but the hearing was opened again thereafter. The Fifth Precinct took Liang Guanjun's fingerprints and recorded witness' accounts of his crimes.
The practitioners' attorney reasoned that although Liang Guanjun attempted to escape his responsibility because of his position in Chinatown, U.S. law will not allow him to escape justice.
(Clearwisdom.net) In Solo, Indonesia, there is a textile factory with about 200 workers who have been practicing Falun Gong since 2001. They exercise together and read Falun Gong book every workday in the morning. According to one of the practitioners there, before practicing Falun Gong, many workers took medicines like candy, often taking medicines 2 or 3 times a day. After 3 months of practicing Falun Gong, the workers had much fewer illnesses. One indicator of this is that the medicine stock in the factory is lasting longer then ever before. There is a new atmosphere throughout the factory. The environment has become cleaner. Some of the employees have even stopped smoking. The whole factory's productivity has improved significantly.

One factory worker said, "I formerly had a hot temper. After practicing Falun Gong, I always remember the principles of Truth, Compassion, Forbearance in my everyday work and life. My inner heart has become peaceful and enriched. My family is surprised at my change."
Some employees have experienced significant changes. One worker said, "I had a kidney stone. After two years of practicing Falun Gong, I no longer had to take medicine. My doctor was very surprised because he did not find the stone anymore. I can even drive by myself at night."
The employees learned about Falun Gong for the first time from the director of the factory, who watched TV reports about the April 25, 1999 appeal outside Zhongnanhai in Beijing (1). He then went to a local bookstore to find Falun Gong book and related information. After studying, he decided to practice Falun Gong. Later he introduced Falun Gong to all the employees, after proving to himself that Falun Gong is good.
Some workers who practiced the Falun Gong exercise and realized the benefits of the practice taught the exercise to their families at the villages they came from. Therefore, in many villages in Solo, groups of Falun Gong exercise sites were started up. In some practice sites, dozens of people practice the Falun Gong exercises together each night. Their ages range from several years old to the elderly. After practicing the exercises, they often share cultivation experiences with each other. They have all benefited from the exercise, and Falun Gong is very popular in this region.
(1) April 25, 1999: on this date ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners peacefully gathered outside the Zhongnanhai compound (China's central government building) and successfully appealed for the release of forty-five practitioners who had been illegally arrested in Tianjin City.
(Clearwisdom.net) Arthur Storey Park, complete with a lake and pavilion, is located in central Houston, Texas. Many people go there to relax or to meet with friends. On the weekends, numerous people can be seen jogging, doing exercises, or holding birthday parties or barbeques. Sometimes art teachers take their students to the park to paint.

Every Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., people observe Falun Gong practitioners doing the Falun Gong exercises at the pavilion in the middle of the park. The practitioners hang a banner that reads, "Falun Dafa" on the pavilion and they have a shelf stacked with free flyers that provide Falun Gong information. Oftentimes people watch them, ask questions, take flyers or learn the exercises. Since October 13, 1996, the practitioners have become part of the park, rain or shine, and have played the role of a window through which people look at and understand Falun Gong. They have persisted for eight years. What has enabled them to do so?
Falun Gong spreads around the world
Practitioner Mr. Song said, "Throughout history, different cultivation methods have always been taught, particularly in the 5,000 years of Chinese culture. In the 1980s, a wave of qigong swept across China and caught the attention of us overseas Chinese. I used to practice other qigong after I got off work. I often thought, 'I am busy all the time, what do I live for?' I wanted to practice cultivation and wanted to find a true cultivation method."
"In May 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Gong to the public and the practice was immediately immensely popular. Within a few years, the number of practitioners increased exponentially, and soon Falun Gong spread overseas. I inquired about Falun Gong and joined the first nine-day session of Falun Gong classes held in Houston at the end of 1995 and the beginning of 1996. I learned that Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, is a cultivation method that improves both xinxing and physical well being. Falun Gong's principles of Truth-Compassion--Forbearance struck a chord with me. I immediately realized that this was what I had always wanted. From then on I had a goal in life, which was to return to my true, original self. I studied the Fa and did the exercises daily. By repeatedly reading Zhuan Falun I obtained answers to the questions I had had all my life. I learned the meaning of life and I conducted myself according to Truth - Compassion -Forbearance. I realized that improving one's xinxing is of the utmost importance, and I started to think of others and strive to become a better and an even better person. Falun Gong has helped me become kinder, purer and more tolerant," he went on to say.
"On August 3, 1994, The Houston City Government, Texas, the United States, issued a proclamation and honored Mr. Li Hongzhi as 'Honorary Citizen of Houston' as well as 'Goodwill Ambassador.' The date of Mr. Li Hongzhi's first public lecture in the USA on October 12, 1996, was officially proclaimed by the City of Houston as Li Hong Zhi Day. The proclamation reads, 'Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries. It resonates the universal truth to every corner of the earth and bridges the gap between East and West. Li Hong Zhi has worked tirelessly to convey Falun Dafa from China to the rest of the world. Along the way, he has touched the lives of countless people in many countries, earning an acclaimed international reputation.'
"We set up a practice site in Room 106 of the Overseas Chinese Cultural Center on October 13, the second day after the Fa lecture. We met every weekend to study the Fa and to do the exercises. As the number of practitioners increased, we changed study/exercise locations several times. Eventually we moved to Arthur Storey Park, where we have been doing the exercises every Sunday morning for nearly eight years."
Some practitioners from Mainland China who came to Houston to visit their families or for work reasons had the opportunity to share experiences with local practitioners. A practitioner from Beijing told her story, "I used to suffer from severe heart disease and was often hospitalized. I had to take medication and injections. In addition, my family had to take leave from work to take care of me and the annual medical expenses were huge. After I practiced Falun Gong, I benefited tremendously and all my illnesses went away. There are countless others with similar experiences. Falun Gong enabled us to become healthy and saved the government large amounts of money by reducing medical bills. Falun Gong spread by word of mouth and the number of practitioners increased greatly. They could be seen everywhere in parks."
A practitioner from Jinan City said, "Falun Gong's principles taught me how to be a good person and to be tolerant of others. I was able to take personal interests more lightly. At work I didn't fight for self-interest when conflicts arose, and I always thought of others before thinking of myself. Falun Gong's principles benefited me greatly and I am a happier person. All of my colleagues have witnessed the changes in me." He also said, "In China, as the number of practitioners continuously increased, the police paid more attention to Falun Gong. Plainclothes police officers subjected practitioners in the park to body searches and participated in the activities practitioners held. They not only didn't get any incriminating evidence; some of them even started practicing Falun Gong themselves. They said, 'Falun Gong is great! It's so upright!'"
In the past eight years, Falun Gong practitioners in Houston held regular workshops and conferences, some of which were reported by the local media. The number of practitioners at Arthur Storey Park increased, and some practitioners established practice sites in other parks in Houston. All of this has attracted more attention from the local people.
Trials and tribulations
On June 10, 1999, Jiang Zemin ordered the establishment of an organization, known as the 610 Office for short, which specializes in the persecution of Falun Gong. On July 20, 1999, Jiang's faction launched a mass arrest of key assistants from Falun Gong practice sites across the country, and all of the propaganda machinery spread overwhelming amounts of lies and slander. Hundreds of thousands of practitioners were arrested, illegally sentenced to prison, tortured and even died from persecution. This hate propaganda has also been exported overseas.
The peaceful environment at Arthur Storey Park was also disturbed. Oftentimes unknown persons would show up around the practice site to take pictures and videotape the practitioners. Sometimes they verbally abused the practitioners. Western media reprinted and published news stories produced by the Chinese government. The situation in China and at the practice site tested the practitioners in Houston. Many [non-practicing] Chinese people in Houston believed the Chinese government's lies, but most practitioners persisted in cultivation.
Once, when most of the practitioners at the practice site went to promote Falun Gong, several people who claimed to be martial arts practitioners tried to force the remaining Falun Gong practitioners to leave the pavilion. The practitioners refused to be interfered with and continued to do the exercises in the pavilion every Sunday.
One day, a local resident came in a hurry and handed a newspaper to the practitioners. He said, "This newspaper has continuously published Falun Gong-slandering articles. I attended a Falun Gong introduction session before and I know Falun Gong is good. That's why I came to let you know. You should be careful!"
At first, some Chinese tourists didn't want to take Falun Dafa flyers and some Westerners asked, "What is happening in China?" Practitioners clarified the truth to them. They learned that Falun Gong practice helped practitioners become better people by following the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, and that Falun Gong practitioners in China were deprived of their basic rights and their freedom of belief.
Practitioner Mr. Jin explained why he persisted in Falun Gong practice, "I am 75 years old. My wife and I used to suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure and other illnesses. We recovered through Falun Gong practice. I was able to do many things around the house and my whole family benefited. Jiang Zemin is jealous of Falun Gong's popularity and he is very wrong in ordering the persecution of Falun Gong. I want to share my personal experiences with others and I will never give up such a wonderful practice."
Practitioner Mr. Zhao wrote an article entitled "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa" in which he shared his cultivation experience. He decided that he was right to practice Falun Gong and he is determined to continue practicing Falun Gong. He would bring a shelf and flyers every time he went to the pavilion to do the exercises. He was always one of the earliest to arrive each time practitioners went to the Chinese Consulate to protest the persecution.
Practitioner Mr. Cai always brought a banner with him which reads, "Falun Dafa --- Truth-Compassion-Forbearance," whether he went to the Chinese Consulate or to the practice site.
Practitioner Mr. Chen patiently taught the exercises to people who came to learn.
Once, after the practitioners finished doing the exercises, they saw a middle-aged woman standing outside the pavilion, looking on expectantly. A practitioner went to her and said, "This is Falun Gong. Would you like to learn?" She answered, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner and I came from Beijing. I never expected to see fellow practitioners here. In China we are not allowed to practice; our books were taken away and my family opposed my practice. My husband said to me, 'We must listen to the Party. Don't practice Falun Gong.' I said, 'You have seen for yourself how I benefited from Falun Gong practice.' He then said, 'I can't help it. If you continue to practice, our whole family will suffer because the government will persecute us.' I was in deep distress because I still wanted to practice but I had no book." She cried as she spoke. The practitioner took her to a computer lab and taught her how to use a computer and showed her how to access Minghui.net and read books online as well as how to solve safety issues and so on. She smiled and said, "Great! The first thing I'll do after returning to Beijing is to buy a computer."
One day a couple came to the practice site. The woman introduced herself, "We live in Taiwan and I have just obtained Dafa. I know Falun Gong is banned in China, but in Taiwan people enjoy freedom of belief and are free to practice Falun Gong. We are now visiting our family in Houston, so I came here to join the group exercise." She said, "My husband is a doctor and he doesn't practice Falun Gong." Almost a year passed and the couple came back to Houston again. This time the husband is also practicing Falun Gong. He said, "I saw great changes in my wife after just over half a year since she started practicing Falun Gong, so I started practicing too."
Year by year, people passing by the pavilion saw practitioners doing the Falun Gong exercises and distributing flyers in a peaceful and rational manner. The practice site has also become an information window where people can inquire about Falun Gong, and ask questions they may have. Some learned the facts, some gave the flyers to their family members and friends, and some came to learn the exercises. Practitioners always help them warmly.
Falun Gong is very popular
A middle-aged man went back to Taiwan to visit his family. His relatives introduced Falun Gong to him. When he returned to Houston, he immediately went to the practice site and started practicing Falun Gong.
Another man read an article about Falun Gong in the newspaper and became interested. He also joined the weekly group practice. One Sunday, most practitioners left town to attend an experience sharing conference. They asked this man to play the exercise tapes. He said, "I mustn't be late because this is very important." It was pouring rain that Sunday but they still did the exercises.
Once, another middle-aged man waited for practitioners in the park. As soon as they finished doing the exercises he approached them and said, "I attended your nine-day lectures class in late December 1997. When the Chinese government started persecuting Falun Gong I began to pay attention to Falun Gong. Once, a woman slandered Falun Gong at a public place and I was very angry that she was lying, so I immediately said to her, 'Falun Gong is great! I know about Falun Gong! Please don't speak untruthful things!' It has been four years now, but I never forget about Falun Gong's principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. At last, I came to look for you at the pavilion. I'm very touched that you are still practicing Falun Gong and have persisted for all these years."
Another time a Western woman read a truth clarification flyer as she watched the practitioners doing the exercises. She was happy as she said to the practitioners, "God sent me here." She learned the five sets of exercises and did the exercises for two hours. She said before she left, "Falun Gong is great! I'll come back next week!" Incidents such as these are a common occurrence at the practice site.
Once, a man came to tell the practitioners a story, "I'm often away to other places on business. When I was in Washington, DC, a Falun Gong practitioner gave me a flyer that read, 'Falun Dafa around the world.' When I went home, I immediately went online to see if there were any Falun Gong practitioners in Houston. When I saw you guys, I felt the flyer was telling the truth."
Falun Gong and the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance have gained support from many governments and kind-hearted people around the world. The ridiculous persecution and practitioners' persistent anti-persecution efforts have caught the attention of people from all walks of life, taking Falun Gong from being relatively unknown to many in the past, onto the world stage. Some people started to carry out research and studies on Falun Gong. People often came to the practice site to learn more about Falun Gong. They said, "There are so many practitioners in China. Even after the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun Gong using all kinds of cruelty, and even after Falun Gong practitioners suffered so much, some even dying from torture, practitioners have never given up their belief and practice. They protest in a peaceful and rational manner and the number of practitioners continues to increase. There must be a reason for this." They wanted to know what power enabled the practitioners to persist in the practice. Practitioners gave them a detailed introduction to the practice and gave them materials to read. People who took the time to learn the facts know that Falun Gong and the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance help people improve morally and spiritually and that anyone attempting to destroy Falun Gong practitioners' righteous faith is destined to fail.
Falun Gong and the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance help the practitioners to return to their true, original selves. This is the true reason why the practitioners persist in practicing Falun Gong.
(Clearwisdom.net) On November 20, 2004, Beijing's satellite TV system was tapped into and a Falun Gong truth clarification video entitled "Between Heaven and Earth" was aired. People in many cities and provinces of Mainland China were thereby given a chance to learn the truth about the self-immolation in Tiananmen Square, an act of state-terrorism staged by the Jiang regime.
In response to the satellite broadcast, Xinhua New Agency once again employed its special skills in fabricating lies and putting the blame on someone else, and dished out the unfounded statement that "the Army Information Bureau of Taiwan Independence secretly trained Falun Gong practitioners" to pre-empt the official state TV satellite broadcast. A representative of the Taiwan Falun Dafa associate responded immediately to the false allegations, and officers from the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense sharply denounced the charge as nonsense.
During the past five years, Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful resistance and perseverance against the persecution has made the world gradually come to know about Falun Gong and to condemn the persecution in Mainland China. In over 20 countries around the world, over 40 lawsuits against the members of Jiang's regime are in process. In Mainland China the huge sacrifices made by Falun Gong practitioners have vividly displayed the truth and helped it to become widely known in the hearts of people. The public has been awakening and the persecution has been failing. The Jiang regime's thugs are in a state of alarm as if the fated end is near.
The media is a barometer of the current political situation. Although the Xinhua News Agency is still in fear of the Jiang regime facing its fated end, the general situation of the media in China is beginning to thaw.
At midnight on September 18, 2004, 610 Office authorities in Beixi City ordered the City Police Department, National Security Department and the Judiciary Department to launch a massive arrest of the practitioners on its blacklist. They employed 100 police cars and 500 police all over the city to do so. 50 practitioners were arrested. A 70-year-old woman, Wang Lianying, was beaten to death. Two people were injured after jumping from buildings to avoid certain arrest. Many practitioners were detained and sent to brainwashing classes. The incident shocked the whole city, leading to great public discontent.
On October 7 and 18, 2004, the Minghui website reported the incident, which coincided with the Fourth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party. An article in Fushun Daily reported: "A 70-year-old woman who was detained in the police station died in secret. The police department in Beixi City, Liaoning province illegally summoned a 70-year-old woman, and twice hid the facts from her family about the cause of her death". They then gave a detailed report about the death of Wang Lianying. Huaxi City Daily, the most circulated newspaper in the southwest region of China, reprinted the article from Fushun Daily on page A10 on October 25, 2004. Many newspapers and websites in China, such as Sina, Sohu and Eastday reprinted the article.
According to Asia Week, around the middle of October, many official Chinese websites stopped criticizing Falun Gong, and the propaganda slandering Falun Gong disappeared from the websites of some Chinese embassies abroad. On November 14 and 15, when the websites of Chinese embassies were searched using Google, it was found that most of articles slandering Falun Gong had been deleted. The embassies were in Norway, Spain, Portugal and Germany. On the websites of embassies in Thailand, USA and South Africa, only the titles of the slanderous articles remained. The contents had been removed.
Xinhua News Agency hasn't seen the current trend. Some government departments and public security officials who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong can sense imminent danger, and have started to collect and destroy evidence of their crimes involving the persecution of Falun Gong. Even 610 Offices ordered their lower levels to collect all documents pertaining to the persecution of Falun Gong. However Xinhua News Agency still continues to support the genocidal criminals.
On December 3, 2003, the United Nations Criminal Court for Rwanda handed a former government officer, many media officials and Radio Television Libre des Milles Collines (RTLM) maximum sentences. This is an example of punishing media and individuals who participate in campaigns of genocide. During the judgment, former RTLM leader, 53-year-old Nahimana, and magazine publisher, 42-year-old Nageze, were sentenced to life imprisonment. Former senior diplomatic adviser and founder of RTLM, 53-year-old Berayagwiza, was sentenced to 35 years in prison. All three were found guilty on charges of "genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide, and directly causing public agitation to commit genocide".
On July 2004, the former Director of Wuhan TV and Radio Bureau in Hubei province and also Director of Wuhan TV Station, Zhao Zhizhen was visiting New Haven, Connecticut. He was handed a summons to the U.S. Federal District Court. Zhao Zhizhen was charged with planning and directing the production of a special film full of lies in June 1999. The film was the main part of a TV propaganda program demonizing Falun Gong and was played over and over again all over China. Zhao was sued for making propaganda films that incited hatred, violence, torture and genocide against Falun Gong practitioners in China. November 30, 2004 was the scheduled court day and defendant Zhao Zhizhen submitted a request to U.S. Federal District Court in New Haven to delay his appearance.
Without the media's support in spreading propaganda, it would be hard for any perpetrator to commit such a massive crime. The historic judgment against Jiang's regime is coming. Where will Xinhua News Agency end up?
(Clearwisdom.net) Recently Clearwisdom.net published a commentary indicating, "In the five years since July 20, 1999, when the comprehensive persecution was made public, Jiang has used the Party to persecute Falun Gong. Not only has Jiang committed unredeemable crimes, the Party itself cannot escape from the responsibility of the crimes, either." Clearwisdom.net also reprinted a part from the Epoch Times' Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party: "The Collusion of Jiang Zemin with the Chinese Communist Party to Persecute Falun Gong." Some practitioners feel uncertain about whether our current method of clarifying the truth to end the persecution should expose Jiang or the Communist Party. Some everyday people with good intentions also worry if these methods make it look like we are participating in politics, and could be used as an excuse against us. I would like to share with everyone some of my understandings.
I. Practitioners Should Always Follow the Principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance
During Master's benevolent salvation of all beings, we earnestly chose the path of Dafa cultivation. Before July 20, 1999, in the atheist Chinese society, there were people with ulterior motives who tried to create slander against Dafa. They used newspapers and television to attack us. Confronted with this complicated environment, assimilating to and practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" has enabled us to personally experience a healthier body and mind, along with moral improvement and spiritual awakening.
After the beginning of the persecution, when Dafa confronted tribulations and Master was unjustly treated, we chose the path of Fa-rectification. The evil took advantage of its longstanding tactics of brainwashing and intimidation to assault us, saying that we "besieged Zhongnanhai," were "involved in politics," and "were in collaboration with Taiwan independence and western anti-China forces." Confronted with an insane persecution by a powerful, brutal government system, we assimilate to and practice "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." In reality, the secular government, law, media, history, culture, medical science, and science is for us to use to rationally clarify the truth and benevolently save people.
Today, Fa-rectification has arrived at the last stage. Our fundamental principle is still "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Any change of external environment or factors cannot move us.
II. The Fundamental Part of Fa-rectification Cultivation Is Saving All Beings
Master said, "For a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came, saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification."("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")
In the past five years the evil has done all in its power to fill the people's minds with countless misunderstandings, and even hatred, for Dafa. If we cannot fully eliminate these factors, a life may be destroyed. Regardless of how ordinary human society has changed or what it has done, nothing can replace Dafa practitioners' responsibility of clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings.
The Communist Party's 50 years of systematic brainwashing has laid a foundation for the past five years of the persecution of Dafa and the destruction of the futures of sentient beings. If we cannot clarify the truth well, it will be even more difficult to save sentient beings.
Master said, "Cultivation is not about taking part in ordinary people's political struggles, and even less is it about fighting for power or gain. The notions, bad habits, and tendencies that you've formed in ordinary society and in political circles and the like are looked down on even among ordinary people, so even more so should they be disposed of in cultivation."("My Version of a 'Stick Wake-up'")
Master also said, "Dafa disciples aren't some ordinary-people politicians--you have lots of ordinary-people abilities, but you're not trying to gain anything of ordinary people. A Dafa disciple's cultivation is for the purpose of achieving Consummation in the course of validating the Fa. But as Dafa disciples, you are also saving all beings, you're allowing more lives to be saved and rescued during the Fa-rectification." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference")
When people said we were superstitious, we were not moved. There is nothing wrong with practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." When the evil slandered Dafa and Master, we still were not moved, as we know to regard the Fa as the teacher and assist Master in the Fa-rectification When the evil says we are getting involved in politics, we still should not be moved, for in reality we have no heart for politics, just a heart for the Fa, for "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," for clarifying the truth and for saving sentient beings. Meanwhile, we ourselves must do the very best in being "full of great aspirations while minding minor details," so that others can see the greatness of Dafa through our actions and our truth clarification.
(Clearwisdom.net) There has been a lot of recent discussion and analysis of the nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It has helped me clearly recognize the nature of the evil specter of the CCP. I have come to understand that in the last stage of Fa-rectification, as a cultivator, that I should eliminate the influence of this evil specter from both my thoughts and my dimensional field, so as to save more people.
It has possessed almost each and every person in China. Our human notions, behavioral standards, moral standards and the way we live with others are all manifestations of being possessed by the evil specter of the CCP.
People that I have come across at different levels have been possessed by the evil specter, stopped from learning the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa. At one time, I went back to my hometown village to clarify the truth. Everyone, from the elderly to school students, could understand and accept that Falun Dafa is good, and that "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" is good. They all hated CCP corruption, but at the same time, there was manifestation of their being possessed by it.
One woman there said, "The CCP is corrupt, but only the CCP can make us have a happy life." Another young man wanted to learn Falun Gong. Every night, he asked me to tell him about the truth of Falun Dafa. He learned the exercises in earnest. However, he said unexpectedly, "I admire the CCP." Targeting his notions, I told him about how the CCP destroyed human morality, and how wonderful Falun Dafa is, helping him to truly distinguish good from evil.
On July 20, 1999, the evil launched the rampant persecution against Falun Dafa. Orders from the highest levels were passed down to lower ranks, forbidding Party members from practicing Falun Gong. It was a serious test for practitioners who were Party members. Some practitioners gave up Falun Dafa simply because they were Party members. Most practitioners successfully resisted, negated and broke away from the control of the evil specter of the CCP. They came through in a noble and dignified manner.
At that time, a retired woman who was always proud of her Party membership expressed during group Fa-study and experience sharing that she still felt it was an honor to serve people as a Party member. However, the evil forbade Party members from practicing Falun Gong. Therefore, she was in a dilemma. She didn't want to give up her CCP membership, and she wanted to practice Falun Gong. I asked her why she was reluctant to leave the CCP. She hesitated for a long time before finally making the decision to quit.
Here is another typical example. A veteran practitioner, a retired government official, changed tremendously after practicing Falun Gong. He became a volunteer assistant, and led us to do the exercises and study the Fa each day. After receiving the order that Party members were forbidden to practice Falun Gong, he remained determined for some time. Later, though, he became hesitant, and finally, he began to oppose Falun Gong.
Recently, a very diligent practitioner and Party member felt that although the CCP brutally persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners, as a Party member, she still had to pay her membership fees. This shows that the evil specter of the CCP is still in control of her.
Through studying the Fa, we have come to a clear understanding that the CCP is an evil factor used by the old forces to persecute Falun Dafa. How can we meet the criteria of cultivators if we still abide by this evil factor today? How can we be worthy of being Falun Dafa disciples? When we wrote our applications for CCP membership and took oaths under its symbol, we became possessed by the evil specter. Must we not declare null and void the agreements and oaths that we had signed with the CCP?
When we yield to the evil, we leave an irreparable stain in our lives. Thanks to our Teacher's great compassion, we have a chance to officially declare our CCP oaths as invalid, and to make up for our mistakes. Isn't it eliminating the evil, eradicating the evil and purifying ourselves? As Falun Dafa disciples, we should immediately and completely dissolve all of the CCP factors within ourselves and become upright and dignified Falun Dafa disciples.
(Clearwisdom.net) In this boundless cosmos, a being is insignificant and life is fleeting.
Some think, "As insignificant as I may be, I am still fortunate to be able to validate the Law of the cosmos and safeguard the truth of the universe. It's so profound that I would protect it with my life."
Some think, "By cultivating, I can become a god, Dao or Buddha, and leave this world of misery once and for all. I will also have good fortune in the human world. I am very fortunate and it's so meaningful. I must cultivate until Consummation and go home with Teacher."
Others think, "What is the truth? What is cultivation? Life is too short. It's better to be realistic and enjoy life. Otherwise, it's not worth living."
The third group of people has the enjoyment of life as their primary purpose. Most people are like that, so I won't delve any further in this group. The first and second groups appear similar, but their points of view are very different.
The first group focuses on the Law of the cosmos. They give of themselves for the truth and are thus selfless, pure and righteous.
The second group's motivation originates from selfishness. Their purpose for cultivating is to reach Consummation. As Teacher pointed out in the article "A Dialogue with Time" in Essentials for Further Advancement, "some have come to study the Fa because they could not find their purpose in life. They are attached to these notions which they are unwilling to change."
The first group places Dafa in the highest position and sees safeguarding Dafa and saving sentient beings as their own mission. Therefore, their actions are righteous, they have strong righteous thoughts and they walk a righteous path.
The second group puts their own elevation and personal cultivation first. They have the attachment of getting rid of their attachments, the attachment to doing things, and have a hidden show-off mentality, zealotry, jealousy, and competitiveness. They are self-centered. On the surface, they are validating Dafa, but in essence, they are validating themselves. With no sense of security, they see the persecution of Falun Dafa as a way to establish their mighty virtue and to improve themselves. They tend to go to extremes. When they do a good job, they want to show off. When they do a poor job, their heart is heavy. These practitioners may even go astray under the pressure of the persecution. After they have achieved something, they think they can rest on their laurels and use it to reach Consummation. They seek comfort and cannot understand the responsibilities of a Falun Dafa practitioner during the Fa-rectification.
These people have obtained the Fa and have a great chance of becoming part of the first group, who are pure Dafa disciples. They are also the ones whom Teacher is trying to save and is giving more chances to. At the same time, they are the targets of the old forces.
The purpose of life is to go back to one's original, true self. It's not easy for Dafa practitioners to rid themselves of selfishness and become one that is selfless. It's difficult, because most of the selfish acts have become second nature.
Teacher has given us a "stick wake-up." We should awaken to it. We should let go of the attachments of human thoughts. We should calm down and study the Fa more and read the experience sharing articles with a calm mind, in order to find our own fundamental attachments.
As long as we remain in the Fa and follow Teacher closely and do the three things well, our attachments will surface and we can get rid of them. In the process, we will become a true, pure Dafa particle.
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a young practitioner who has practiced Falun Dafa for five years. In those five years, I have experienced Falun Dafa's greatness. The following are some of my experiences.
Before I practiced Falun Dafa
One day when I was younger, my dad, who had just practiced the Falun Gong exercises, asked me to close my eyes and tell him what I saw. I said, "There is a sun is in my forehead!"
Dad often played the music of Pudu and Jishi [Falun Dafa instrumental works]. I often played while enjoying the music at same time. One time I was playing with building blocks and he was listening to Pudu. Suddenly, I saw a rotating wheel (I did not know it was a Falun at that time) in front of my eyes. I was amazed, but I had no idea what it was.
One day, right before I went to sleep, dad was doing the 5th exercise (the sitting meditation). I looked around casually and suddenly noticed golden lights coming from his body. I was a little afraid and didn't dare to say anything. The next morning, dad smiled and told me, "Don't be afraid, it is normal. Practitioners' bodies carry energy." Although I didn't fully understand, I had a sense of his meaning
The beginning of my practice of Falun Gong
At the end of 1999, because of an illness, I started to practice Falun Gong. I only read one paragraph of Zhuan Falun every day. Gradually, I increased my reading from one paragraph a day to one page a day, then one section a day, and eventually I was reading one lecture a day. My dad taught me the exercises. Every day, while I was in school, I could feel the turning Faluns. My whole body was warm and comfortable when I did the exercises. When I read the book, through my Celestial Eye, every word was in the form of a Buddha; even the parts of some words were in the forms of Buddhas. These Buddhas all had different postures, and were very beautiful. One night in a dream, I saw Teacher wearing a golden robe, standing in a lotus flower and smiling at me. I was extremely happy at that moment.
Going to Beijing to validate Fa
After the persecution began, in the summer of 2000 our family decided to go to Beijing to validate the Fa. On July 22, 2000, my mom, dad, and I stood in Tiananmen Square. Like other practitioners, we did the Falun Gong exercises to demonstrate to the people Falun Dafa's solemn greatness. The police arrested us and brought us to the Public Security Bureau, Tiananmen Square Branch. Later, we were detained at the Shuangcheng Liaison Office in Beijing. They eventually escorted us back to Shuangcheng. Once we arrived in Shuangcheng, my parents were thrown into prison, and I had to stay with my grandma temporarily. The night the police took my parents away, I had a dream that my main spirit flew to heaven. It was so wonderful there, with many celestial maidens flying around, scattering a variety of flowers to the earth. At that moment, I conjoined my hands while sitting on a lotus flower. I saw many Buddhas flying toward me. Among them was Teacher. Teacher smiled at me and left. I probably stayed there for several hours, then I felt my body becoming heavy and I gradually descended. Finally I woke from the dream. I thought, "Teacher is encouraging me, I must cultivate diligently."
Reaching the stage of gradual enlightenment
In April 2004, the city of Shuangcheng was in a horrifying state. Police from Harbin City and Shuangcheng City began to search for and arrest practitioners on a large scale, leaving no stone unturned. My dad had been newly released from a one-year term of forced labor for medical treatment. Late in the night on April 19, more than twenty policemen forcefully broke into our home. They took away my parents without any explanation. I was left home alone. In the afternoon of the second day, my parents returned home. My dad was not in a good mood and had a deep fear, but he resolutely kept studying the Fa and had me study with him. It was from that time that I began to gain a deeper understanding of the Fa, learning the difference between individual cultivation and cultivation during the Fa rectification. It was in that period that I reached the stage of gradual enlightenment.
One day around 6 p.m., while sending forth righteous thoughts, I was in a very tranquil state and entered into ding (the state of an empty, yet conscious mind). While I was sending forth righteous thoughts, my celestial eye suddenly opened. I saw a group of evil entities. They had various strange appearances, and each of them looked extremely vicious. I also saw some armored heavenly warriors fighting with the evil beings. I was very excited and kept reciting Master's Fa-rectification verses, "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the evil is completely eliminated." Soon, many of the evil things were eliminated. I kept reciting, and a golden bowl flew over and held all the evil entities beneath it. After a while, the bowl was lifted, and there was nothing there but some blood, so I finished sending forth righteous thoughts. I saw many scenes that are beyond my ability to describe. Sometimes, I told my parents selectively about the scenes I witnessed. They felt very encouraged and they strengthened their determination in sending forth righteous thoughts.
With continuous Fa study, there was a period in which I could not only see the evil being eliminated, but I also experienced supernormal powers. One day, my friends and I were playing hide and seek at school. A friend of mine walked toward the door I was hiding behind. Just before he would have found me, I quickly shifted aside without thinking. Quite unexpectedly, I passed through the door and found myself on the other side of it. I tried it repeatedly, and my friend was unable to find me.
There were many times when my physical body shifted to different dimensions while I was sending forth righteous thoughts or doing the exercises. One day, around noon, my dad and I were doing the second set of exercises. My dad was standing in front of me. I closed my eyes and felt very good, I could feel the state that Teacher had described, wherein one feels as though he was in an eggshell. When we finished the exercises, my dad turned around and didn't see me. In fact, I had moved to the living room without being aware of it while I was doing the exercises.
Using divine powers
Through studying the Fa, the instructions Teacher gave us about clarifying the truth gradually helped me to understand that I too should take every opportunity to clarify the truth to people.
One night my family and two other practitioners went out to clarify the truth. Aunt Wang walked ahead of us posting truth-clarifying words on the wall, as we sent forth righteous thoughts. I saw with my celestial eye a few vicious ghosts trying to stop Aunt Wang from posting the words. I immediately recited the Fa-rectification verses silently, but the ghosts were seemingly not affected by it at all. I raised one hand and silently said, "Eliminate!" in my heart. A golden light came from my hand, and the ghosts turned into a pile of dust. Finally, the five of us returned home safely.
There was a time when I was distributing flyers in the community. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts to make the electronic gates open for me. Many electronic gates did open as I wanted, so I could easily place the flyers inside. As I was coming out of a residential building, a girl carrying a backpack was passing by. I noticed that the zipper on her backpack was open. I was thinking how wonderful it would be if could put a flyer in her backpack. While I was thinking, a flyer came out of my pocket and flew into the girl's backpack.
The state of those practitioners who are not diligent in cultivation
For a while, my dad was deeply engrossed in learning to use computers and his cultivation state was not very good. He used as an excuse the needs of the Fa-rectification to cover his attachment. For some time, he seldom studied the Fa or did the exercises, sent forth righteous thoughts, or clarified the truth. Through my celestial eye, I saw his bodies in other dimensions were deteriorating. Whenever my dad was paying attention to the computer, Teacher's Law Body kept looking at my dad, worried and disappointed. Later, my dad adjusted his cultivation state to the right track, and was diligent every day. When my dad finally used the computer techniques he had learned to make truth clarification materials, Teacher's Law Body smiled at him.
I understand that what I saw was Teacher's encouragement for me and the practitioners around me, so at this final stage of the Fa rectification of the cosmos, I must do well the three things required, be diligent, and really be a young practitioner of the Fa-rectification period.

Falun Gong practitioner Huang Fenghua, an undergraduate from Shandong Province, has been brutally tortured for staging a hunger strike to protest his illegal arrest. Huang was force-fed, dragged to the second floor, handcuffed and beaten up. Huang has been on a hunger strike for several days.
Wang Yongxin has been on a hunger strike to resist the persecution for several days, and was subjected to torture.

2. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Man Beaten While Trying to Visit Detained Wife
On December 2, 2004, practitioner Ms. Zhu Xianzhi from Tangsengsi Village, Yanshihoushi Town, Luoyang City, Henan Province was arrested. When her husband returned from a trip and found out his wife was being tortured at the detention center he went to the detention center. He asked for permission to visit his wife and demanded they stop torturing her. Policeman Xu Yaobiao and two other policemen locked him up in a room at the west yard of the detention center. They grabbed his neck, pushed him to ground and punched and kicked him. Zhu's husband almost passed out. Even now, Zhu's husband still suffers neck pain from the beating and cannot turn his head freely.

3. [Yongcheng City, Henan Province] Cui Yanxia Receives Four-Year Prison Sentence
In the beginning of 2002, personnel from the Beijing Police Department arrested practitioner Ms. Cui Yanxia from Yongcheng City, Henan Province. Cui was sentenced to four years in prison. At present, Cui is being held at the No.2 Team of Women's Section at Shijiazhuang City's No.2 Prison.
4. [Tianjin] Arrest of Six Practitioners in the Tanggu District
On September 21, 2004, personnel from the National Security Team, the Tanggu Police Precinct in Tianjin, namely those from the 610 Office, arrested nine practitioners. After a day of interrogations they released two practitioners. They ransacked the other seven practitioners' homes and then interrogated them, collected material and found "evidence" to put them on trial. Police confiscated all of the Dafa books and Master's articles from the practitioners' homes. They even confiscated computers from the practitioners' children as well as video CDs. It is said they took away a copier from a practitioner's workplace. After extorting 5,000 yuan from the practitioner, they returned the copier.
After October 1, police released one of the seven practitioners. The six others, including Mr. Liu Fuming, Ms. Song Huichan, Mr. Meng Qiu, and Mr. Yang Peihua, were sentenced to imprisonment ranging from one year to one and a half years. They released Liu Fuming due to his hypertension and sent him back to the Tanggu Detention Center.
It has been reported that Jing Hechun, a head of the National Security Team, Head Yu, and policeman Han Yong took part in the raid. Other criminals include Yu, Yang, and Zhang Wenli from the Political and Security Section.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Liao Chenyu Arrested While Making Truth-Clarifying Discs at Home
Around December 2004, police from the Huangzhong Residential Area arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Liao Chenyu while s/he was making Dafa truth clarifying discs and also ransacked his/her home.
6. [Feicheng City, Shandong Province] City Court Sentences Five Practitioners
On November 25, 2004, Feicheng City's Court sentenced practitioners Ms. Kong Yumei and four other practitioners. Ms. Kong Yumei was sentenced to four years and six months in prison; Ms. Wu Xiulian four years; Ms. Sun Aiqin four years; Ms. Yang Jun three years, and Ms. Li Ping to two years with three years reprieve.

7. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Li Zongyun Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Practitioner Li Zongyun had been living in exile to avoid persecution for over three years before he was arrested. During that period of time, his 10-year-old child and elderly parents led a very difficult life without him. Li Zongyun was arrested outside of his hometown and was later sent to Fusong County's Detention Center. His wife, also a practitioner, was recently released from the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.
It has been reported that Li Zongyun was sentenced to four years of forced labor and will be sent away soon.

8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Zhang Wenliang's Persecution Experiences
Practitioner Zhang Wenliang, 32, is a resident of Dongying Village, Jingzhi Town, Anqiu City, Weifang City. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor in Shandong Province merely for refusing to give up his belief in "Truthfulness -- Compassion -- Forbearance." He managed to escape during the attempted arrest.
He had gone to Beijing in 2000 to validate Dafa and was arrested. Later he managed to escape with the power of righteous thoughts and righteous actions. In the beginning of January 2001 he went with some practitioners from Yunnan Province to Kunming City and made truth-clarifying materials there. He also appealed for an investigation of the torture death of fellow practitioner Mr. Kong Qinghuang (former deputy director of Lin'an Town, Jianshui County, Yunnan Province) who had been detained in Jianshui County's Detention Center after being arrested and sent back to Jianshui County. By the end of January 2001, Zhang Wenliang was arrested and put into Wuhua District's Detention Center in Kunming City. Later Kuming City's Intermediate Court sentenced him to four years of imprisonment. He appealed to Yunnan Province's Supreme Court, but they upheld the original verdict.
In November 2001, Zhang Wenliang was transferred to Guandu Prison in the Dabanqiao District, Kuming City. Ten days later, he was transferred to Yunnan Province' No.1 Prison. He successively clarified the truth in the No. 6, No. 5, and No.8 areas. He walked out of the prison in an open and dignified manner and arrived home on May 30, 2004.
9. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Zhang Guixiu Brutally Shocked by Policeman Li Weiguo
In October 2000, practitioner Ms. Zhang Guixiu from Huangqibao Town went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was sent back to Huangqibao Town's Police Station. Li Weiguo, the police station chief, shocked Zhang Guixiu's hands and feet while verbally abusing Dafa and Master. Zhang Guixiu clarified the truth to him while bearing great pain. Li Weiguo not only did not listen but he even shocked Zhang Guixiu's mouth. Zhang Guixiu was unable to speak due to the pain. Li Weiguo then shocked her ears, cursed Master and demanded, "Are you deaf or what? Why don't you speak now?" He kept shocking her and saying, "Did you hear me?" Zhang Guixiu bore the great pain in silence. Li Weiguo viciously shocked Zhang Guixiu's inner thigh until she finally passed out. When I saw Zhang Guixiu, her thigh was shocked so badly that it looked like a beehive, with the blood and flesh all mixed together. The scene was too wretched to see.

10. [Shidian County, Yunnan Province] Yang Kaiwen and Yang Guangju Arrested for Posting Falun Gong Materials
Practitioners Yang Kaiwen and Yang Guangju are from Yongfu Village, Youwang Township, Shidian County, the Baoshan Area, Yunnan Province. For posting truth-clarifying materials, personnel from the county's 610 Office and the county's national security team arrested Yang Guangju on August 14, 2004. Yang Kaiwen was arrested on October 27, 2004. They are currently being incarcerated at the county's detention center.

11. [Wenshan County, Yunnan Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhou Huifen Receives Three-Year Prison Sentence for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong
Ms. Zhou Huifen, 50 years old, lives in Wenshan County, Yunnan Province. She began to practice Falun Gong in 1997. In 2003 she was arrested and detained for clarifying the truth to the local people. Later she was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. She is currently being detained at No.6 Group, the Linjiayuan Training Area, Yunnan Province's No.2 Women's Prison.
12. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Liu Cuimei Detained for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong
Practitioner Ms. Liu Cuimei from the Economic Technical Development Zone in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province was arrested on December 4, 2004 at 11:00 p.m. for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. The perpetrators were seven or eight officers from the No.5 Patrolling Team of the city's police department. The next day they sent her to Jinzhou City's Detention Center.

13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Yu Fengyun and Li Mingrong Sent to the Guchengwan Detention Center for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong
It was reported that on October 23, 2004, that personnel from Jiuyuan District's Police Precinct, the Baotou City Police Department in Inner Mongolia arrested practitioners Ms. Yu Fengyun and Ms. Li Mingrong from Shijiazhuang City while these practitioners were clarifying the truth in Baotou City. They are currently being held at the city's Guchengwan Detention Center.
Practitioner Ms. Yu Fengyun is practitioner Mr. Tao Hongsheng's wife. Tao Hongsheng was a former officer of the National Security Bureau, but had been tortured to death. In 2000, Tao Hongsheng was detained at the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp. After only half a year in detention, he was tortured to death. Yu Fengyun has also suffered relentless persecution because of her belief in Falun Dafa. She was detained in a forced labor camp for two years and later taken to Hebei Province's Brainwashing Class for additional torture.
Practitioner Ms. Li Mingrong is the wife of an employee at the No.54 Institute in Shijiazhuang City. It was reported that she has some relatives in Datong City, Shanxi Province and in Baotou City in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region. This arrest took place when she visited her relatives and distributed truth-clarifying materials.

14. [Chongqing] Arrest of Retired Teacher Huang Zehan
Practitioner Ms. Huang Zehan is a retired teacher from Chongqing City's No.11 High School. She lives at Zengjiayan Jiangduyiyuan near the Shangqing Temple. Since July 20, 1999 she has done much work to clarify the truth of Falun Gong.
At about 3:00 p.m. on December 9, 2004, policemen Li Hong, Wen Bo and two other police assistants from the Danzishi Police Precinct in the Nan'an District broke into Ms. Huang's house. Without showing a warrant, they interrogated her and dragged her away. Later it was reported that they would arrest and sentence her two years of forced labor.
15. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Jin Shunsheng Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
In late November 2004, Mr. Jin Shunsheng was arrested. Without following legal procedures, the authorities sent him to the Bajin Forced Labor Camp in Gao'an County, Jiangxi Province for one year.

Facts of the Persecution
1. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in 2003 by officials from Anren County of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province
Between 4 and 5 o'clock on the afternoon of April 19, 2003, officials from the Police Department and the Bureau of Politics and Security in Yongxing County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, raided the homes of local Falun Gong practitioners and took them to the police department. Around 11:00 p.m. the same day, officials from the police department and the Bureau of Politics and Security in Anren County transferred all detained practitioners to Anren County. Around 2:00 a.m. on April 20, these 18 practitioners were sent to the detention center. Practitioner Cao Linying was interrogated the day after she was detained. The police cuffed her hands behind her back and forced her to kneel down on the ground. They deprived her of sleep for three consecutive days. Practitioner Xu Yunyan's legs were broken from a beating received during interrogation because she refused to tell the police anything. Practitioner Liu Wennv resisted the interrogation. Her clothes were ripped and she coughed up blood due to the beating she received. Practitioner Cao Linfang was interrogated continuously for days without being allowed to sleep. Because there was no real evidence or reason to detain these practitioners any longer, four of the eighteen practitioners were released on the night of April 24, after four days of detention. Later, more practitioners were released after being detained for time periods ranging from two weeks to several months. These practitioners were required to pay extortion money to secure their releases. On April 28, 2003, officials from the Communist Party Committee, the Police Department, the Bureau of Politics and Security, and the 610 Office in Anren County cuffed practitioners' hands behind their backs and put them on trucks to be paraded on the streets. The practitioners shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" In July 2003, the Communist Party Committee of Yongxing County fined the Falun Gong practitioners 15,000 yuan each. Soon afterwards, the five practitioners were illegally sentenced without receiving court judgment papers.

2. The brainwashing center in Zhangjia Village, Jiaozhou City, continues to torture Falun Gong practitioners
The Police Department of Jiaozhou City tortures Falun Gong practitioners in a brainwashing center. During the first few days, they interrogate practitioners during the daytime. Later, they begin continuously interrogating practitioners day and night. The practitioners' bodies have been severely devastated due to the constant beatings and sleep deprivation. Falun Gong practitioner Han Daxue from Xima Village of Jiaoxi Township, Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province, was abducted and taken to the brainwashing center on November 13, 2004. Since his abduction, Han Daxue went on hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. He is being force-fed once or twice a day. His daughter, Han Yu, went to the Jiaozhou City government to appeal for her father's release, but she was also abducted and taken to the brainwashing center. She was detained there for 13 days, and was force-fed more than ten times because she held a hunger strike to protest her illegal detention. On November 30, Han Daxue was sentenced to two years of forced labor without any legal procedures. At this time, his family has yet to receive any legal notification concerning his sentence. Practitioner Song Yuling was beaten about the feet by detention center police using bamboo clubs. After her feet lost feeling, the police poured hot water on them. The police also pushed lit cigarettes into her nose. Practitioners in the brainwashing class were forced to get up at 6 in the morning, but Song Yuling could not get out of bed due to the severe injuries she had received during the torture session. One of the guards, Jiang Pinyang, cuffed her to the chair even though she could not even sit up straight by herself, then he beat her and forcibly pushed the chair against the wall. Song Yuling's legs were severely injured as a result.

3. The recent situation of the persecution suffered by practitioners from Zhoucun District of Zibo City, Shandong Province
Mr. Li Hongwen is a resident of Zhoucun District of Zibo City, Shandong Province. On November 5, 2004, officers from the Nanying Police Station of Zhoucun District arrested him while he was passing out Falun Gong truth clarifying materials. He was sent to the Dazhuang Detention Center of Zhoucun District. It has been over a month since he was initially detained, yet the authorities have refused all requests for visits by his family. During his detention, the 610 Office of Zhoucun District told his family that it would cost 5,000 yuan to secure his release. His family refused to pay. Li Hongwen has resisted the persecution in the detention center and is likely to be sentenced to forced labor. On December 3, the police station delivered the arrest warrant to his family, which was very late, and not in keeping with proper legal procedures. On the arrest warrant, there was a fingerprint of some unknown person. Li Hongwen's family has asked the police to release him several times but have received no replies from the authorities.
Mr. Liu Guangbao was reported by an informant on December 7 to the Wangcun Police Station for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. The police then searched his home, took him away, and detained him in the Zhoucun 610 Office. His father is over 80 years old and is lying sick in bed. His wife is blind and has to be taken care of by his elderly mother. Recently, as his parents do not have the ability to take care of his blind wife, they had to send her to the 610 Office where Liu Guangbao is detained.
Mr. Zhang Yuchun and Ms. Yu Hong are a couple. To avoid severe persecution, they left home and have wandered the streets for over four years. Right after they returned home to stay for a few days, an informer reported their presence to the 610 Office of Zhoucun District. They were taken to the 610 Office in Zibo City and have been detained in the brainwashing center there ever since. Their father is over 60 years old and has been left at home alone. The father can barely live on the money he earns as a doorman.

4. The bitter experience of Falun Gong practitioner Tang Xiewen from Yanghe Township, Huaying City, who was subjected to persecution for handing out truth clarifying cards.
On September 19, 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Tang Xiewen was distributing truth-clarifying cards in Yanghe Township, Huaying City when a person named Liu Kefang reported him to the police. Tang Xiewen was then arrested and detained at the Yanghe Police Station. The police cuffed him from behind and locked him to an iron ring on the wall. He was forced to kneel down and was then slapped in the face. In an attempt to force him to tell where he had obtained the truth clarifying cards, the police kicked his legs and back with their boots, and beat him with nail-covered clubs. Tang Xiewen was cut and bruised all over his body. Policeman Yuan Jianping used a two-foot long steel rod to hit Tang Xiewen on the back more than 20 times, and on the lower abdomen once. Yuan Jianping also put the steel rod under Tang Xiewen's cuffs and lifted them to make him suffer severe pain. Lifting the cuffs this way almost broke his wrists. Tang Xiewen was later transferred to Huaying City Detention Center, where he was detained for a month. On the third day after Tang was arrested, the police from Heyang Police Station ransacked his home and confiscated several Falun Gong books.
