New York: Practitioners Hold Group Fa-Study on Christmas Day (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Minghui.org correspondent reports from New York -- On, December 25, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in New York celebrated Christmas Day in a special way. In the afternoon, practitioners from different countries throughout the world got together with practitioners in the Metropolitan New York area and held a large-scale group Fa-study in midtown Manhattan. Practitioners read through Master's lecture, "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York". In the evening, Master came in person to greet and encourage practitioners.

Group Fa-study

Aiming at some thoughts and behaviors of some individual practitioners, Master reminded practitioners that we must understand that the police in New York are the police of a democratic country; they are not Chinese Communist Party police. Practitioners who are not familiar with the local situation should learn about it. Regarding the conjecture spread among a few practitioners about when truth-clarification in Manhattan would end as well as when the Fa-rectification would end, Master reminded practitioners with a compassionate tone that we should not casually make such guesses. Instead, we should steadfastly do the three things well until consummation.

Since August 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from across North America, Taiwan and other countries and areas throughout the world have overcome various challenges in work, family and finance to come to Manhattan and tell people about the persecution of Falun Gong in China by means of holding anti-torture exhibitions, multimedia displays, and distributing flyers. The purpose is to allow the entire world to be aware of what has been happening in China and call for people's attention to help stop the inhuman persecution.

Over the past five months, a great number of people in Manhattan have learned the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. Many touching stories have occurred on the streets in Manhattan. In particular, a large number of Spanish and African American people have had the chance to learn what Falun Gong is and how it benefits people's mental and physical health. They earnestly and enthusiastically sign petitions in support of Falun Gong practitioners and against the persecution.

Since December this year, in order to clear away the poison from the CCP's deceptive lies, and to allow more people who work in Manhattan to learn the truth about Falun Gong, practitioners have unfurled new banners with the words, "Many of your Chinese colleagues have been deceived and help spread CCP lies. Please don't be misled by their words. Please read the real story of Falun Gong for yourself." The strong message moved many passersby. According to practitioners who clarify the truth on the streets, almost all people would read this banner when they passed by. More and more people accept truth-clarifying materials and stopped to carefully read the posters.

A practitioner wrote in a brief report: One day, in the morning, we went to subway station close to Ground Zero. A man came over. He said that he works in a government health department. He told practitioners and he saw them clarifying the truth on streets every day and he was quite touched. He said that although we quietly stand, our efforts were very powerful.

More and more Chinese people have been accepting the materials, too. For instance, two Chinese university students initially did not want to take the materials. After a practitioner talked with them, the two girls asked many questions such as, "Why would practitioners go to Tiananmen Square to commit self-immolation?" "Why don't they practice the exercises at home?" Their questions showed that even though they have been overseas over the past few years, they too had been influenced by Jiang's faction's lies. The practitioner patiently answered their questions: We follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance to be better people. How could it be possible for us to kill others or commit suicide? You see there are so many people throughout the world practicing Falun Gong We Chinese people should be proud of it... In the end, the two girls did not only take the materials but also expressed they would definitely find a copy of the book Zhuan Falun to read.

Over the past more than five months, group after group of practitioners have come to Manhattan to clarify the truth. Some practitioners from the Metropolitan New York and surrounding areas have persisted in clarifying the truth from the heat of August to the cold winter. Many practitioners who participated in this Christmas group Fa-study realized in the evening that we must follow what Master reminded us, better sum up our experiences and lessons and try our best to do even better.

Facts of the Persecution

62-year-old Practitioner Ma Jinfeng from Hebei Province Dies After Years of Abuse and Harassment

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Ma Jinfeng, a 62-year-old from Juyang Township, Sanhe City, Hebei Province, started practicing Falun Dafa in November 2000. For the past four years, he has been subjected to repeated persecution. Under this tremendous pressure, he died on September 20, 2004. The local police still came to his home in an attempt to harass him the day after he died.

In November 2000, a few days after Mr. Ma started practicing, his high blood pressure and high levels of cholesterol disappeared. He was very grateful to Falun Dafa and to Teacher. On December 16, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for an end of the persecution and was abducted to the township government and later detained in Sanhe Detention Center. The staff of the township government went to ransack his home several times during his detention.

Since then, on all so-called sensitive days, local township staff members went to his home to harass him or to take him to town and detain him. On June 3, 2001, local authorities put him under surveillance and limited his freedom. To avoid this harassment, he was forced to leave home and become homeless. When the authorities could not find him the following day, twenty to thirty police officers and staff members went to his home three times looking for him, disrupting his family and the neighbors.

Local authorities then harassed his family every day.

At 2 o'clock one October morning in 2001, a dozen police officers and town government officials stormed into his home. Finding Ma there, they dragged him off to a detention center. Mr. Ma resisted the brainwashing and was released a few days later.

One night in November 2003, the police went to Ma Jinfeng's home again. His family refused to open the door. The police waited outside until morning. As soon as someone opened the door, they stormed in and ransacked the house, but could not find anything.

Having been persecuted for 4-5 years, Ma Jinfeng lost all his hair. He died on September 20, 2004. The police came the day after he died. They forced their way in after they were told that Mr. Ma had died.

The government of Sanhe City had spent tremendous amounts of manpower and resources to persecute Falun Gong and its practitioners. As a result, 46 practitioners have been sent to forced labor camps, and their families have suffered tremendously. In May and June 2004, they rounded up Falun Gong practitioners without any warrant. A pharmacist, Ms. Gao Guiyun, from a local clinic in Yang Township was abducted on June 3, 2004 and sent to Tangshan City Kaiping Forced Labor Camp. On December 1, 2004, Ms. Gao's mother died, murmuring Ms. Gao Guiyun's name, as witnessed by her family members.

Practitioner Ms. Qi Xueping Passes Away As a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Qi Xueping, 48, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Bailing Village in Xiahuai Town, Pingshan County, Hebei Province. In early 2000, Xiao Suilong and other policemen from the Political Security Section of the Pingshan County Police Department arrested her. She was confined in the Pingshan County Detention Center and persecuted.

Under intense pressure and brutal torture, she gradually became mentally disoriented. After she was released from the detention center, she never recovered. She needed someone to be with her at all times. Whenever there was a visitor to her home, she would hide and start shivering all over.

In June 2004, Ms. Qi passed away. Her death was a heavy blow to her mother-in-law, who passed away less than a week after Ms. Qi's death.

Mr. Liu Erzeng was a practitioner from Zhongbailou Village in Chengguan Town, Pingshan County. In June 2001 he was arrested and sent to the brainwashing class in the Pingshan County Detention Center. Later he was sentenced to three years of forced labor education. In 2002 he was tortured to death at the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp. Ms. Kang Ruizhu was another practitioner from Pingshan County who was persecuted to death.

Qiqihar City Practitioner Li Huifeng Appeals to Court Regarding Persecution He Experienced

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 22, 2001, Qiqihar City Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Huifeng was taken away by the police. In July 2001, he was charged and sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Jianhua District Court. Mr. Li appealed to a higher court according to the law, but the Qiqihar Mid-level Court went so far as to write in their verdict that Mr. Li accepted the initial ruling and withdrew his appeal. On January 24, 2002 Mr. Li was sent to the Harbin No. 3 Prison and later transferred to the Daqing Red Satellite Prison. He has been detained there ever since. During his illegal detention, Mr. Li was subjected to inhuman torture methods such as the "big hang up," "electric shock of private parts," and "locking up in a small cell." Once he was tortured to the brink of death.

Mr. Li Huifeng gives the following account in his appeal:

My name is Li Huifeng and I am 32 years old. I am a Falun Gong practitioner from the Qiqihar City of Heilongjiang Province. I live at Room 801, Unit 5, Building 7, Guanghua No. 2 Committee, Tiefeng District, Qiqihar City (To contact my family, call 86-452-2817020).

At around 5 pm on January 22, 2001, I was forcibly taken away by the No.3 Middle Team police of the Jianhua District, Qiqihar City. The next day I was sent to the Qiqihar City No. 2 Detention Center. In July 2001, I was charged and sentenced to 12 years in jail by the Jianhua District Court. I would not accept it and appealed to a higher court according to the law, but the Qiqihar City Mid-level Court went so far as to write in their verdict that I had accepted the initial ruling and withdrew my appeal. On January 24, 2002, I was sent to the Harbin No. 3 Prison and later transferred to the Daqing City's Red Satellite Prison until today.

Since I was arrested on January 22, 2001, some policemen personally or ordered prisoners to inhumanly torture me. The following is what they did to me:

At around 5 pm on January 22, 2001, I was visiting a practitioner Wen Jie's home when five policemen broke in suddenly, covered our heads and abducted the five of us (still barefoot) to the No. 3 Police Middle Team. They immediately tortured me cruelly, trying to get what they wanted. They cuffed my hands behind my back and hung me up two meters above the ground. They tied my legs with a rope and then pulled the rope to stretch my body (a torture method called "Big hang up"). It was very painful. In the meantime, the police also kicked my sides, making me swing back and forth, adding to my pain. The police even shouted, "My happiness is built upon your suffering." They shocked and burned my private parts with a 10k-volt electric baton. I could not lift my arms for more than six months. The next day, I was sent to the Qiqihar City No. 2 Detention Center and during the one-year illegal detention there, I was persecuted until I became like a mere skeleton.

In July 2001, I was charged and sentenced to 12 years in jail by the Jianhua District Court. I wrote, "Not acceptable, will appeal" on the verdict. After I was sent back to the detention center, I wrote an appeal letter to the higher court, but the Qiqihar City Mid-level Court went so far as to write in their verdict that I and Wen Jie (who was sentenced to 11 years in prison; he would not accept it either) had accepted the initial ruling and withdrew our appeals.

On January 24, 2002, I was sent to the Intensified Persecution Team of the Harbin No. 3 Prison. Because I insisted on my innocence, police Huang Dadui and Gong Dawei locked me up in a small isolated cell to be tormented. It was chilly in February at the time. They would not allow me to wear warm clothes and left all the windows wide open. In the evening, I was not given a bed cover. Each day I was only allowed a tiny amount of corn paste. They also sent two prisoners to keep an eye on me. I was not released until 39 days later when I was almost dead. Half a month after, I was transferred to the No. 6 Ward Area and was monitored by the criminals day and night. I didn't have any personal freedom and was forced to do physical labor, report my thoughts and write a "Three Statements" and a "self-criticism article," etc. The division head Zhu Wenchen and Tang Xinmin adopted harsh methods such as verbally abusing and humiliating me, withholding money and personal items that my family had sent to me so that I couldn't even purchase articles to wash up, refusing to deliver letters from my family, etc. Tang also broke the law while "enforcing" it by ordering prisoners to beat me (even the prisoners could not bear to do it) or torture practitioners at will. The director of the Harbin Prison "610 Office" Chen Shuhai and Li Fucai often brainwashed me and other practitioners and made us watch videos slandering Falun Gong.

From 2001 to 2004, because a few practitioners were beaten to death or disability by the criminals in Harbin Prison under the order of the police, to cover up the truth under the outside pressure, on July 1, 2004, 108 practitioners were transferred to other prisons in Daqing, Tailai, Mudanjiang, and other cities. Thirty practitioners including me were moved to Daqing City Red Satellite Prison on that day. To cooperate with the Heilongjiang Provincial Forced Labor Bureau and hide the facts about persecution, the Daqing Prison confiscated all of our items except our clothing, bed cover and articles for washing. They still haven't returned them to us. On July 9, I was sent to the No.1 Ward Area and subjected to similar restrictions, i.e. no family visits and my appeal letter to the Daqing prison prosecutor's office was not delivered.

Five years of persecution have greatly harmed my body and mind. My wife Zhang Shuzhe was arrested on the same day I was. She was sent to forced labor first and then sentenced to prison. Today she is still suffering in the Harbin Women's Prison. Our family was broken up for a long period of time, and our family members were soaked in great sorrow.

Here I call for help from countries and people from around the world with a sense of justice, conscience and compassion. I hope that all kind-hearted people will help to restore justice!

Torture Method Used to Persecute Practitioners in Chaoyanggou Labor Camp, Jilin Province (Illustration)

(Clearwisdom.net) The following was described by a practitioner who was just released from Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Jilin Province.

Chaoyanggou Labor Camp adopts a shameless means to brutally attack Falun Dafa practitioners who refuse to give up their beliefs. The prison guards force the practitioner's head through the ladder of a bunk bed and force the practitioner to embrace the ladder and tightly tie his arms to it. Then several vile guards beat the practitioner with pickaxe handles, from neck all the way down to the ankles, until they get tired. If the practitioner still refuses to give up his belief, he is beaten this way several times the next day. As a result, his back is badly mauled, bruised and lacerated and is swollen to the point that it becomes deformed. The practitioner feels extreme pain even if one just touches his clothes. Were it not because of his practice of Falun Dafa, no one would be able to sustain a second around of "gang beating."

Tortures Used on Practitioners at Shandong Province No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp (Reenactment Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Shandong Province's No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp (also called Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp, located at No. 162, Wangcun Town, Zhoucun District, Zibo City) is one of the evil places where women Falun Gong practitioners in the province are illegally detained. There are four divisions right now in the forced labor camp, of which the No. 3 Division is the worst.

Around 2001, in an attempt to force practitioners to give up their practice of Falun Gong, the guards employed many torture methods to try to brainwash practitioners. Among other tortures, they forced the practitioners to sit on small stools for over ten hours every day, forbade them to use the toilet and deprived them of sleep and from taking showers. Long period of sitting on the small stools left big blood blisters on practitioners' buttocks. Ms. Liu Huifang and several other practitioners were tortured this way to the extent that they suffered mental trauma.

The head of the camp, Wang, and the guard Xiao Aihua called in some local ruffians and hooligans because the practitioners persisted in reciting the Fa and Teacher's new articles, and in practicing the exercises. They rushed into our cells to torture practitioners with electric-shock batons. They dragged steadfast practitioners out of the cells one by one to the corridor, viciously beat them with rubber batons, and shocked the sensitive parts of their bodies. Practitioners Ms. Tang Huixian and Ms. Zhuang Ruping were handcuffed on chairs and the perpetrators used electric batons to shock their palms, arches, faces, mouths, and chests. The torture caused the practitioners to lose control of their bowels.

Once, the head of the No. 2 Division, Wang Huili, ordered 20 to 30 male guards to shock more than 100 practitioners with electric batons in the corridor. The oldest practitioners were in their 60s and 70s and the youngest were 17-18 years old. After that, they handcuffed six to seven practitioners in solid confinement cells. Practitioner Ms. Han Xiuhua just said one sentence -- "Don't take them away, they [practitioners] are all good people" -- and the guards dragged her up to the fourth floor and tied her up on a chair, and then shocked her palms, face and four limbs. Her arms sustained big blood blisters, and when the blisters broke, the wounds ran with blood and pus. She could not wear clothes. It was so cold in winter that the wounds festered and would not heal. The guards still dragged her along, forcing her to "march like a soldier."

The photo shows the scars left from being shocked with electric batons several years ago at Wangcun's Women Forced Labor Camp

The following photos are reenactments of torture methods used on Falun Gong practitioners at the No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province, based on the descriptions of those who experienced them.

A female labor camp authority ordered more than a dozen male guards to handcuff 50-year-old practitioner Li Guohua, an associate professor at a university in Shandong Province, to a chair, with her arms behind the back of the chair, and her feet painfully twisted inside the legs of the chair. They then shocked her nine times continuously with over ten electric batons. During the torture, the female head listened to Li Guohua's heart with a stethoscope, and said, "No danger, continue shocking." The perpetrators became even more vicious and repeatedly tortured Li Guohua.

The guards handcuffed practitioners who were on a hunger strike to a chair with their hands behind them, and inserted a tube into the practitioners' nose to force-feed them. After the force-feeding, the guards would not take out the tube, but would let it hang there painfully for several days.

The guards handcuffed hunger-striking practitioners spread-eagled to four big rings on a wooden bed and would not release them until several days later.

The guards handcuffed practitioners on hunger strike between two beds, and forced them to stand there for several days.

List of names of responsible personnel at the No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp in Wangcun, Shandong Province:

On October 16, 2002, three people from Aning Police Station, State Security Team tricked him into opening his door by telling him that they were his colleagues and that they wanted to take him to the police station to investigate something. At noon, the three policemen took Ouyang Wei back home and said to his family that they would take him to "study" for a few days. They sent Ouyang Wei to Gansu No. 1 Labor Camp for one year of forced labor. His physical examination was normal when he entered. On October 24 at 6:30 pm, the head of safety office Wei Ying sent Ouyang Wei home and told his family: "Ouyang Wei is sick. They will take him back to labor camp after he has recovered". The Falun Gong Issue Is a Touchstone upon Which the Investigation of Crimes Against the Chinese Constitution Will Be Tested

(Clearwisdom.net) I believe that the issue of Falun Gong is a touchstone upon which the investigation system of constitutional violations will be tested. During the past five years, Jiang's regime has violated the constitution and promulgated laws to establish a so-called "legal basis" through which to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, and Falun Gong practitioners have appealed to void this entire "legal basis."

The Chinese government's legal Review and Testing Office now deals with constitutional violations. The National People's Congressional Law Working Committee Chair clarified this when answering the question, "Without a constitutional court, which agency is responsible for the investigation of constitution violations?"

In the Law Working Committee clarification, the Chair said that unlike many Western countries, the current Chinese government has not established a constitutional court. Based on China's constitution, the oversight of China's constitution is the right of the National People's Congress and its Standing Committee. This year the Review and Testing Office became part of the National People's Congress Law Working Committee, which is tasked with reviewing whether or not governmental rules and laws are constitutional.

Concerning the review and investigatory powers of this entity, the Chair explained that if existing laws and regulations violate the constitution, any citizen, organization, or related state agency may appeal to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

Given the aforementioned explanation, Falun Gong practitioners in China and overseas have constitutional and legal rights to appeal to the National People's Congress and its Standing Committee. They have the right to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, validate the goodness of Falun Gong, and disclose the illegal nature of the persecution. Practitioners have the right to file the following appeal to the investigatory constitutional violations body within the National People's Congress. They have the right to request an investigation and subsequent voidance of all laws, rules, notices, explanation of laws, sentences, and administrative orders enacted in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by all government agencies (including police, court, procurator, and other government agencies at all levels) in Jiang's regime.

"The legal basis" used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang's Regime to persecute Falun Gong violates the constitution in all respects

From the very beginning of the persecution, Jiang's regime has put so-called "justifiable" labels of "legal" and "legitimate" on this illegal persecution. The regime continuously enacts new laws and rules and then uses them as "legal basis" to support the persecution. The regime avails itself persistently of these unconstitutional laws and rules to violate the constitution. This so-called "legal basis" was used to deceive the Chinese people, and to avoid condemnation from the international community.

Laws are used to regulate people's actions and punish criminals. Yet in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, laws have been used outside their legal mandate: they have been used to ban and punish a people's belief in goodness. Wrongful interpretation and violation of existing laws have driven the persecution's evil and bizarre activities from the time it was launched.

The principle perpetrator Jiang Zemin willfully violated the intent of the Chinese constitution, abused presidential authority, and controlled the country's judicial system. He initiated the persecution and formulated the persecution policy. He first determined that practitioners were guilty, and then designed laws after the fact to support their "guilt." Jiang forced the National People's Congress to follow his command and make "laws." He commanded the Supreme Court and the Supreme Procuratorate to abuse their rights to give interpretation to the law. The two governmental bodies were forced to amend Article 300 of the Criminal Law, which then was used as a "legal basis" to persecute Falun Gong. To state it more clearly, the persecution lacks proper legal and administrative procedures in all respects. the "legal basis" Jiang used to carry out the persecution is entirely unconstitutional.

Order to ban Falun Gong from Ministry of Civic Affairs was used to legitimize the persecution

Article 35 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China clearly stipulates: "The citizens of the PRC have the right to freedom of speech, publication, assembly, association, parade, and protest." The command to ban Falun Gong by the Ministry of Civic Affairs violated the right of "freedom of association" granted under the constitution.

Article 5 [Socialist Legal System, Rule of Law] of the Constitution states: "No law or administrative or local rules and regulations shall contravene the Constitution." "No organization or individual may enjoy the privilege of being above the Constitution and the law." Because the order's language was unconstitutional, the issuance of the order (to ban Falun Gong) is also unconstitutional.

The organization that the Ministry of Civic Affairs banned in its declaration in reality did not officially exist. The Falun Dafa Research Association was from its inception a branch of the China Qigong Science Research Association. After resigning from the Qigong Science Research Association in 1996, the Falun Dafa Research Association no longer existed. The reason for banning a non-existent organization was purely to create a "legal basis" to legitimize the persecution.

The Ministry of Public Security's declaration of "Six Prohibitions" to help execute the persecution

The "Six Prohibitions" are:

1. It is prohibited for anybody to hang or post banners, pictures, symbols and other tokens in any place or during any event to promote Falun Gong.

2. It is prohibited for anybody to distribute books/magazines, video/audio materials and any other means of promoting Falun Gong, in any place or during any occasion.

3. It is prohibited for anybody to gather crowds to do "group practice," "Fa promotion," and other similar Falun Gong activities, in any place or during any occasion.

4. It is prohibited for anybody to hold "conferences," "parades," and "demonstrations" that support or promote Falun Gong by means of "meditation" or "making an appeal."

5. It is prohibited to fabricate or distort facts, spread rumors deliberately, or instigate and interfere with the social order through other means.

6. It is prohibited for anybody to organize, assemble, or lead events that are against government policies.

From these prohibitions, one can see without doubt that the aforementioned notice contained the following message to the country's police system and society: "You are authorized to persecute practitioners at will. You may take away all their legal rights.

The "Six Prohibitions" openly violated the Chinese Constitution, taking away freedom of speech, publication, assembly, association, parade, and protest. This notice was released to the public as a legally enforceable directive, and used subsequently as the "legal basis" for the persecution.

The "Six Prohibitions" violated Articles 5, 33, 35, 36, and 41 of the constitution. It also violated "The State's Regulations on Appeals"

In "The State's Regulations on Appeals," Article eight stipulates: "the person lodging the appeal may submit documents to the relevant agencies on items that involve 'criticism, suggestions, and requests intended for administrative agencies and staff members;' "Report and expose the illegal deeds of administrative agencies and their employees;" "making a formal complaint against actions that have invaded one's legal rights and interests," among others.

The Supreme Court, the Supreme Procuratorate, and National People's Congress enacted laws to put a "legal" veneer on the persecution

After China adopted the "Open Policy" in the late 1970s to become a full-fledged member of the international community, the "anti-revolutionary" language within Chinese criminal law was removed. Therefore, to declare someone guilty because of one's thoughts became more difficult. But under orders and threats from Jiang's regime, The Supreme Court, the Supreme Procuratorate, and National People's Congress amended Article 300 of the Criminal Law to find a "legal basis" for the persecution.

In October 1999, three months after the persecution started, when being interviewed by the French newspaper Le Figaro, Jiang said, "Falun Gong is an evil cult." On October 26, major Chinese newspapers published Jiang's speech on their cover pages, and titled the article, "Falun Gong is an evil cult." On October 27, 1999, the Xinhua News Agency published a special comment, with the same title, in which the author quoted an article published in the People's Daily on the July 22, 1999 to prove Jiang's speech was "reasonable." The People's Daily article contained many baseless rumors and was published solely to slander Falun Gong.

Three days later, October 30, 1999, the National People's Congress passed "The decision to ban evil cult organizations, and to crackdown on evil cult activities."

Jiang violated Article 80 and 81 of the Chinese Constitution, which defines the extent of the President's power. It states clearly that the Chinese President is not granted the right to define crimes based on personality, organization, or practice methods. The National People's Congress, going along with Jiang, enacted unconstitutional laws, the sole intent of which was to deceive the Chinese people and evade criticism by the international community.

Neither the National People's Congress' "Decision," nor the later "Interpretation of certain problems in implementing the law dealing with cases about the crimes of evil cult organizations" issued by the Supreme Court and the Supreme Procuratorate, contain wording that specifically relates to Falun Gong. As a result they do not have any real legal enforcement power against Falun Gong.

Lawfully appeal to the National People's Congress and its Standing Committee, requesting to remove the unconstitutional "legal basis" used to persecute Falun Gong

We can see that the creation of "legal basis" for the persecution is completely unconstitutional, and creating these laws without doubt violated numerous laws and inflicted an unprecedented disaster on the country.

The above behaviors violate the following Chinese laws:

Constitution

Criminal Law

Administration Penalty Law

Administration Appeal Law

Minors Protection Law

Women Protection Law

Education Law

Civil Law

Labor Law

Citizenship Law

Copyright Law

Judicial Law

Prosecutorial Law

People's Police Law

Jail Law

Demonstration and Parade Law

Labor Education Law

Appeal Rule

Guidelines for the Use of Weapons by Chinese Police

Publishing Guideline

TV Broadcasting Guideline

Anyone, including government officials, must follow the proper legal procedures when making a decision that affects a country's citizenry. Forcing one's personal and selfish opinions upon the government, administrative agencies, and people of an entire country is in violation of the laws, and it is enforceable and punishable by laws.

Whether the National People's Congress can lawfully deal with the appeals by practitioners and remove the entire "legal basis" for the persecution is a cornerstone upon which the constitutional review and investigatory system violations is being tested.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Epoch Times news website published a commentary entitled "The Chinese Communist Party's History of Killing." A few excerpts from the article are reproduced below.

The 55-year history of the rule of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is written with blood and lies. The stories behind this bloody history are not only brutally inhumane but also rarely known. When over 50 million innocent Chinese people have been killed, and many more broken families have been left behind, many people wonder: why does the CCP kill people? While the CCP continues its brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and recently suppressed protesting crowds in Hanyuan with gunshots, people wonder if they will ever see the day when the CCP will learn to speak with words rather than guns.

Mao Zedong summarized the purpose of the Cultural Revolution, "...after the chaos and the world reaches peace, but in 7 or 8 years, the chaos needs to happen again." [1] In other words, every 7 or 8 years, there should be a political movement; every 7 or 8 years, a group of people should be killed.

On the surface, it may appear that the CCP was "forced to kill," and that various incidents in society just so happened to trigger the CCP's comprehensive killing mechanism. In reality, systematic killing is a kind of obligation for the CCP, and these incidents disguise the Party's need to kill. Without these painful lessons, people might begin to get the false impression that the CCP was improving and start to demand democracy like those idealistic students in the 1989 democratic movement. Recurring slaughter every seven or eight years refreshes peoples' memories of terror and can warn the younger generation--whoever works against the CCP, wants to challenge the CCP's absolute leadership, or wants to recover China's cultural history, will get a taste of the "iron fist" of the dictatorship of the proletariat.

To instill the greatest terror, the targets of this destruction were arbitrarily chosen, so that no group felt secure. In every political movement, the CCP used the strategy of genocide. The "suppression of reactionaries" did not suppress the "actions" of the so-called reactionaries, but rather the "members" of the reactionaries. If one had been enlisted and served a few days in the Nationalist (Kuomintang, KMT) army but did absolutely nothing political after the CCP gained power, this person would still be killed because of his "reactionary history." In the process of land reform, in order to remove the root of the problem, besides killing the landowner, the CCP often killed a landowner's entire family.

After 1949, the CCP persecuted more than half the people in China. An estimated 50 million to 80 million people died from unnatural causes. This number exceeds the total number of deaths in both World Wars combined.

In most countries, people show care and love for one another. They hold respect for life and are grateful towards Gods. In the East, people say, "Do not impose on others what you would not have yourself [2]." In the West, people say "Love thy neighbor as thyself [3]." Conversely, the CCP holds that "The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles [4]." In order to maintain the "struggles" within society, hatred must be generated between the people. Not only does the CCP take lives, it encourages people to kill each other. It strives to desensitize people towards others' suffering by surrounding them with constant killing. It wants them to become numb from frequent exposure to inhumane brutality, and build the mentality that "the best you can hope for is to avoid being persecuted." All the lessons taught by brutal suppression enable the CCP to maintain its rule.

Besides the destruction of countless lives, the CCP also destroyed the souls of the Chinese people. Many people have already become conditioned to react to the CCP's threats by surrendering all their principles and reasoning. These peoples' souls have died - something more frightening than physical death.

Facts of the Political Campaigns after the Founding of the People's Republic of China compiled by the CCP History Research Center reported that, "In May 1984, after 31 months of intensive investigation, verification and recalculation by the Central Committee, the figures related to the Cultural Revolution were: 4.2 million arrested and investigated, 1.7 million died of unnatural causes, 135,000 people were labeled as counter-revolutionaries and executed, 237,000 people were killed and 7.03 million were disabled in armed attacks, and 71,200 families were destroyed." Statistics compiled from county annals show that 7.73 million people died of unnatural causes.

The beginning of Cultural Revolution triggered a wave of suicides. Many famous intellectuals, including Lao She, Fu Lei, Jian Bozan, Wu Han and Chu Anping ended their own lives at the time.

The Cultural Revolution was the most extreme leftist period. Killing became a competitive way to exhibit one's revolutionary standing, and the means for eliminating "class enemies" was very cruel and brutal.

Everything the CCP does serves only one purpose: gaining and maintaining power. Killing is a very important way for the CCP to maintain its power. The more people killed and the crueler the killings were, the more it could serve its purpose of terrifying people. Such terror started as early as before the Sino-Japanese War.

As the people in China step into the era of computers and space travel, and can talk privately about human rights, freedom and democracy, many people think that the gruesome and disgusting atrocities are all in the past. The CCP has donned civilian clothing and is ready to connect with the world.

But that is far from the truth. When the CCP discovered that there is a group that does not fear its cruel torture and killing, the means they used became even more manic. The group that has been persecuted in this way is Falun Gong.

The Red Guards' violence and cannibalism in Guangxi Province was aimed at eliminating the victim's body, killing someone in several minutes or several hours. Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted to force them to give up their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance. Moreover, the cruel tortures often last for several days, several months or even several years. It is estimated that more than 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners have died as a result of torture.

Falun Gong practitioners who suffered all kinds of torture and escaped from the jaw of death have recorded more than 100 cruel torture methods; the following are only several examples.

Cruel beating is the most commonly used torture method to abuse Falun Gong practitioners. The police and head prisoners directly beat practitioners and also instigate other prisoners to beat practitioners. Many practitioners have become deaf from these beatings, their outer ear tissues have been broken off, their eyeballs crushed, their teeth broken, and their skull, spine, ribcage, collarbone, pelvis, arms and legs have been broken; arms and legs have been amputated due to the beatings. Some torturers have ruthlessly pinched and crushed male practitioners' testicles and kicked female practitioners' genital areas. If the practitioners did not give in, torturers would continue the beating until the practitioners' skin was torn and the flesh gaped open. Practitioners' bodies have become completely deformed from torture and covered in blood, yet the guards have still poured salt water on them and continued to shock them with electric batons. The smells of blood and of burning flesh mixed together, and the screams of agony are miserable. Meanwhile, the torturers also use the plastic bags to cover practitioners' heads in an attempt to make practitioners yield out of fear of suffocation.

Electric shock is another method commonly used in Chinese forced labor camps to torture Falun Gong practitioners. The police have used electric batons to shock the sensitive parts of practitioners' bodies, including the mouth, top of the head, chest, genitalia, hips, thighs, soles of the feet, female practitioners' breasts, and male practitioners' penis. Some police have shocked practitioners with several electric batons simultaneously until burning flesh could be smelled and the injured parts were dark and purple. Sometimes, the head and anus are shocked at the same time. The police have often used ten or even more electric batons simultaneously to beat the practitioners for a long time. Normally an electric baton has a power of tens of thousands of volts. When it discharges, it emits blue light with a static-like sound. When the electric current goes through a person's body, it feels like one is being burned or being bitten by snakes. Every shock is very painful, like a snakebite. The victim's skin turns red, broken, burned and festering. There are even more powerful batons with higher voltage that make the victim feel like his head is being hit with a hammer.

Police also use lit cigarettes to burn practitioners' hands, face, feet soles, chest, back, nipples, and so on. They use cigarette lighters to burn practitioners' hands and genitals. Specially-made iron bars are heated in electrical stoves until they become red-hot. They are then used to burn practitioners' legs. The police also use red-hot charcoal to burn practitioners' faces. The police burned a practitioner to death who, after having already endured cruel tortures, still had a breath and a pulse. The police then claimed his death was a "self-immolation."

Police beat female practitioners' breasts and genital areas. They have raped and gang raped women. They have used electric batons to shock their breasts and genitals. They have used cigarette lighters to burn their nipples, and inserted electrical batons into the practitioners' vaginas to shock them. They have bundled four toothbrushes and inserted them into female practitioners' vaginas and rubbed and twisted the toothbrushes. They have hooked female practitioners' private parts with iron hooks. Female practitioners' hands are cuffed behind their backs, and practitioners' nipples are hooked up to wires through which electric current is run. They have stripped off female practitioners' clothes and thrown them into prison cells filled with male prisoners who have then raped them.

They force Falun Gong practitioners to wear "straight jackets [5]," and then cross and tie their arms behind their backs. They pull their arms up over their shoulders to the front of their chest, tie up the practitioners' legs and hang them outside the windows. At the same time, they gag practitioners' mouths with cloth, put earphones in their ears and continuously play messages that slander Falun Gong. According to an eyewitness account, people who suffer this torture quickly sustain broken arms, tendons, shoulders, wrists and elbows. Those who have been tortured this way for a long time have completely broken spines, and die in agonizing pain.

They also throw the practitioners into dungeons filled with sewage. They hammer bamboo sticks under the practitioners' fingernails and force them to live in damp rooms full of red, green, yellow, white and other molds on the ceilings, floors and walls, which cause their injuries to fester. They also have dogs, snakes and scorpions bite the practitioners, and inject them with nerve-damaging drugs. These are just some of the ways that practitioners are tortured in the labor camps.

In the section "Cruel Struggle within the Party", the article pointed out:

Because the CCP is based on Party principles instead of morality and justice, the loyalty of its members, especially senior officials, to the supreme leader is a central question. Because of this, the Party needs to create an atmosphere of terror by killing its members so the survivors see that when the supreme dictator wants someone to die, that person will die tragically.

The internal fights of Communist Parties are well known. All members of the Politburo of the Russian Communist Party in the first two terms, except Lenin, who had died, and Stalin himself, were executed or committed suicide. Three of the five marshals were executed, three of the five Commanders-in-Chief were executed, all 10 of the secondary army Commanders-in-Chief were executed, 57 of the 85 army corps commanders were executed, and 110 of the 195 division commanders were executed.

Liu Shaoqi, a former Chinese president who was once the No.2 figure in the nation, died tragically. On the day of his 70th birthday, Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai [6] specifically told Wang Dongxing (Mao's lead guard) to bring Liu Shaoqi a birthday present, a radio, in order to let him hear the official report of the Eighth Plenary Session of the twelfth Central Committee, which said, "Forever expel the traitor, spy, and renegade Liu Shaoqi from the Party and continue to expose and criticize Liu Shaoqi and his accomplices' crimes of betrayal and treason."

By October 1969, Liu Shaoqi's body had started to rot all over and the infected pus had a strong odor. He was as thin as a rail and on the verge of death. But the special inspector from the central Party committee did not allow him to take a shower or turn over his body to change his clothes. Instead, they stripped off all his clothes, wrapped him in a quilt, sent him by air from Beijing to Kaifeng city, and locked him up in the basement of a solid blockhouse. When he had high fever, they not only did not give him medication, but also transferred the medical personnel away. When Liu Shaoqi died, he was completely out of shape, and had disheveled white hair that was two feet long. Two days later, at midnight, he was cremated as a person with a highly infectious disease. His bedding, pillow and other things that were left behind were all cremated. Liu's death card reads: Name: Liu Weihuang; occupation: unemployed; reason for death: disease.

The CCP tortured the leader of the nation to death like this without even giving a clear reason.

In the section, "Exporting the Revolution, Killing People Overseas", the article wrote:

In addition to killing people within China using all kinds of methods, the CCP also participated in killing overseas Chinese by exporting the "revolution." The Khmer Rouge is a typical example.

Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge only existed for four years in Cambodia. Nevertheless, from 1975 to 1978, more than two million people, including over 200,000 Chinese, were killed in this small country that had a population of only eight million people.

The Khmer Rouge's crimes are countless, but we will not discuss them here. We must, however, talk about its relationship with the CCP.

Pol Pot worshipped Mao Zedong. Beginning in 1965, he visited China four times to listen to Mao Zedong's teachings in person. As early as November 1965, Pol Pot stayed in China for three months. Chen Boda and Zhang Chunqiao discussed with him theories such as "political power grows out of the barrel of a gun," "class struggles," "dictatorship of the proletariat," and so on. Later, these became the basis for how he ruled Cambodia. After returning to Cambodia, Pol Pot changed the name of his party to the Cambodian Communist Party and established revolutionary bases according to the CCP's model of encircling cities from the countryside.

In 1968, the Cambodian Communist Party officially established an army. At the end of 1969, it had slightly more than 3,000 people. But in 1975, before attacking and occupying the city of Phnom Penh, it had become a well equipped and brave fighting force of 80,000 soldiers. This was completely due to the CCP's support. The book Documentary of Supporting Vietnam and Fighting with America by Wang Xiangen says that in 1970 China gave Pol Pot armed equipment for 30,000 soldiers. In April 1975, Pol Pot took the capital of Cambodia, and two months later, he went to Beijing to pay a visit to the CCP and listen to instructions. Obviously, if the Khmer Rouge's killing had not been backed by the CCP's theories and material support, it could not have been done.

For example, after Prince Sihanouk's two sons were killed by the Cambodian Communist Party, the Cambodian Communist Party obediently sent Sihanouk to Beijing on Zhou Enlai's orders. It was well known that when the Cambodian Communist Party killed people, they would "even kill the fetus" to prevent any possible troubles in the future. But at Zhou Enlai's request, Pol Pot obeyed without protest.

Zhou Enlai could save Sihanouk with one word, but the CCP did not object to the more than 200,000 Chinese who were killed by the Cambodian Communist Party. At that time, the Chinese Cambodians went to the Chinese embassy for help, but the embassy ignored them.

In May 1998, when a large-scale killing and raping of ethnic Chinese took place in Indonesia, the CCP did not say a word. It did not offer any help, and even blocked the news inside China. It seems that the Chinese government couldn't care less about the fate of overseas Chinese; it did not even offer any humanitarian assistance.

In the section, "The Destruction of Family", the article wrote:

We have no way to count how many people have been killed in the CCP's political campaigns. Among the people, there is no way to do a statistical survey because of information blocks and barriers among different regions, ethnic groups, and local dialects. The CCP government would never conduct this kind of survey, as that would be like digging its own grave. The CCP prefers to omit the details when writing its own history.

The number of families damaged by the CCP is even more difficult to know. In some cases, one person died and the family was broken. In other cases, the entire family died. Even when no one died, many were forced to divorce. Father and son, mother and daughter were forced to renounce their relationships. Some were disabled, some went crazy, and some died young because of serious illness caused by torture. The record of all these family tragedies is very incomplete.

The Japan-based Yomiuri News once reported that over half of the Chinese population has been persecuted by CCP. If that is the case, the number of families destroyed by the CCP is estimated to be over 100 million.

Zhang Zhixin has become a household name due to tons of reportage on her stories. Many people know that she suffered physical tortures, gang rape and mental torture. Finally, she was driven insane and shot to death after her throat was cut. But many people may not know there is another cruel story behind this tragedy--even her family members had to attend a "study session for the families of death row inmates."

Zhang Zhixin's daughter Lin Lin recalled that in the early spring of 1975,

A person from Shenyang Court said loudly, "Your mother is a real die-hard counterrevolutionary. She refuses to accept reform, and is incorrigibly obstinate. She is against our great leader Chairman Mao, against the invincible Mao Zedong Thought, and against Chairman Mao's proletariat revolutionary direction. With one crime on top of another, our government is considering increasing the punishment. If she is executed, what is your attitude?" I was astonished, and did not know how to answer. My heart was broken. But I pretended to be calm, trying hard to keep my tears from falling. My father had told me that we could not cry in front of others, otherwise we had no way to renounce our relationship with my mother. Father answered for me, "If this is the case, the government is free to do what it deems necessary."

The person from court asked again, "Will you collect her body if she is executed? Will you collect her belongings in prison?" I lowered my head and said nothing. Father answered for me again, "We don't need anything."... Father held my brother and me by the hands and we walked out of the county motel. Staggering along, we walked home against the howling snow storm. We did not cook; father split the only coarse corn bun we had at home and gave it to my brother and me. He said, "Finish it and go to bed early." I lay on the clay bed quietly. Father sat on a stool and stared at the light in a daze. After a while, he looked at the bed and thought we were all asleep. He stood up, gently opened the suitcase we brought from our old home in Shenyang, and took out mother's photo. He looked at it and could not hold back his tears.

I got out of bed, put my head into father's arms and started crying loudly. Father patted me and said, 'Don't do that, we cannot let the neighbors hear it.' My brother woke up after hearing me cry. Father held my brother and me tightly in his arms. This night we did not know how many tears we shed, but we could not cry freely. [7]

One university lecturer had a happy family, but his family encountered a disaster during the campaign to correct the earlier anti-rightist movement. At the time of the anti-rightist movement, the person who would become his wife was dating someone who was labeled a rightist. That person was later sent to a remote area and suffered greatly. Because the young girl could not go along, she gave him up and married the lecturer. When her beloved finally came back to their hometown, the woman, now a mother of several children, had no way to repent her betrayal in the past. She insisted on divorcing her husband in order to redeem her guilty conscience. By this time, the lecturer was over 50-years old; he could not accept the sudden change and went insane. He stripped off all his clothes and ran all over to look for a place to start a new life. Finally, his wife left him and their children. The painful separation decreed by the Party is a problem that can't be solved and an incurable social disease that could only replace one separation with another separation.

Family is the basic unit of the Chinese society. It is also the traditional culture's last defense against the Party culture. That is why damage to the family is the cruelest in the CCP's history of killing.

Because the CCP monopolizes all social resources, when a person is classified as being on the opposing side of the dictatorship, he or she will immediately face a crisis in livelihood, be accused by everyone in society, and stripped of his or her dignity. The family is the only safe haven for these innocent people. But the CCP's policy of implication kept family members from comforting each other; otherwise, they too risked being labeled opponents of the dictatorship. Zhang Zhixin was forced to divorce. For many people, family members' betrayal--reporting on, fighting, publicly criticizing, and/or denouncing them--is the last straw that breaks their spirit. Many people have committed suicide as a result.

In the section, "The Patterns and Consequences of Killing", the article summarizes:

(1) The CCP's Ideology of Killing

The CCP has always touted itself as being talented and creative in its development of Marxism-Leninism, but the truth is that the CCP creatively developed an unprecedented evil in history and around the world. It uses the communist ideology of ultimate harmony to deceive the public and intellectuals, uses the industrial revolution to destroy belief and promote complete atheism, uses communism to deny private ownership, and uses Lenin's theory and practice of violent revolution to rule the country. At the same time, it combined and further reinforced the most evil part of Chinese culture that is against mainstream Chinese traditions.

The CCP invented a complete theory and operating structure of "revolution" and "constant revolution" under the dictatorship of the proletariat; it used this system to change society and ensure the party dictatorship. Its theory has two parts--economic base and superstructure (the culture of the ruling class) under the dictatorship of the proletariat. According to its theory, the economic base decides the superstructure, but the superstructure can in turn act on the economic base. In order to strengthen the superstructure, especially the Party's regime, it must first start the revolution from the economic base, which includes:

(1) Killing the landowners to solve the relations of production [8] in the countryside, and
(2) Killing the capitalists to solve relations of production in cities.

At the superstructure level, killing is also repeatedly carried out to maintain the party's absolute control in ideology. This includes:

(1) Solving the problem of intellectuals' political attitude toward the Party.

The CCP has repeatedly launched campaigns to reform the thoughts of the intellectuals. They have accused intellectuals of bourgeois individualism, bourgeois ideology, super-political opinion, super-class ideology, liberalism, etc. The CCP stripped intellectuals of their dignity through brainwashing them and eliminating their conscience. The CCP eliminated the independent thinking and many other good qualities of the intellectuals, such as speaking out for justice, and devoting one's life to justice, so as not "to be moved by poverty, thwarted by violence, nor indulged by wealth... [9]" "One should be the first to worry for the future of the state and the last to claim his share of happiness [10]," "Every ordinary man shall hold himself responsible for his nation's success and failure [11]," and "a gentleman should do good to his nation when wealthy, and should perfect himself when poor."

(2) Launching a cultural revolution and killing people in order to gain the CCP's absolute cultural and political leadership.

The CCP first started with mass campaigns inside and outside the Party, and began killing in the areas of literature, art, theatre, history and education. At first, the CCP killed several famous people such as the "Three-Family Village [12]," Liu Shaoqi, Wu Han, Lao She, and Jian Bozan. Later, the number of people killed increased to "a small group inside the Party" and "a small group inside the army," and finally the killing escalated to the stage that all the people around the country including inside the Party and army were killing each other. Armed fighting eliminated the enemy physically; cultural attacks killed the enemy mentally. It was an extremely chaotic and violent period under the CCP's control. The evil side of human nature had been amplified to the maximum by the Party's needs to revive its power in a crisis. Everyone could arbitrarily kill under the name of "revolution" and "defending Chairman Mao's revolutionary line." That was an unprecedented nationwide practice of eliminating human nature.

(3) CCP's Tiananmen Massacre on June 4th 1989 in order to resolve the democratic demands following the Cultural Revolution

This was the first time that the CCP army killed civilians publicly in order to suppress the peoples' protest of embezzlement, corruption and collusion between government officials and businessmen, and their demand for freedom of press, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly. During the Tiananmen Massacre, the CCP even staged scenes of people burning military vehicles and killing soldiers in order to instigate hatred between the army and civilians, which led to the tragedy of the People's Army massacring its people.

(4) Killing people with different beliefs

Controlling belief is the lifeline of the CCP. In order to let its heresy deceive people for the time being, the CCP started to eliminate all religions and belief systems at the beginning of its rule. When facing a spiritual belief in a new era--Falun Gong--the CCP took out its butcher's knife again. The CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by taking advantage of Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance and the fact that practitioners do not lie, do not use violence, and will not cause social instability. After gaining experience in persecuting Falun Gong, the CCP made itself better able to eliminate people of other faiths. This time, Jiang Zemin and the CCP themselves came to the front of the stage to kill instead of utilizing other people or groups.

(5) Killing people in order to hide the truth

The people's right to know is another weak point of the CCP; it also kills people in order to block information. In the past, "listening to the enemy's radio broadcasting" was a felony that could send people to prison. Recently, in response to multiple incidents of the interception of the state-owned satellite or cable television system aiming at clarifying truth of the persecution of Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin sent down the secret order to "kill instantly without mercy." Liu Chengjun, who carried out such an interception, was tortured to death. The CCP has mobilized the '610 Office' (an organization similar to the Gestapo in Nazi Germany that was created to persecute Falun Gong), the police, prosecutors, courts and a massive Internet police system to monitor people closely.

(6) The Party seeking its own interests through taking away the right to life

The CCP's theory of continuous revolution actually means it will never give up its power. Currently, embezzlement and corruption inside the CCP have developed into conflicts between the Party's absolute leadership and peoples' right to life. When people organize to legally protect their rights, the CCP uses violence, waving its butcher's knife toward so-called "leaders" of these movements. The CCP has already prepared over one million armed police for this purpose. Today, the CCP is much better prepared for killing than it was at the time of the Tiananmen Massacre on June 4th 1989, when it had to temporarily mobilize its military force. However, while forcing its people into a dead end, the CCP has also forced itself into a dead end. The CCP has come to such an extremely vulnerable stage that it even "takes trees and grass as enemies when the wind blows," as the Chinese saying goes.

We can see from above that the CCP is an evil specter in nature. No matter how it changes in different times and different places, the CCP killed people before, is killing people now, and will continue to kill in the future in order to maintain absolute control.

(2) Different Killing Patterns under Different Circumstances

1. Propaganda Prior to Action

The CCP has used many different ways to kill people depending on the period of time. In most situations, the CCP created propaganda before actually killing anyone. The CCP would then say "only killing could relieve the public's indignation," as if people had requested the CCP to kill. In fact, the CCP instigated the public's indignation.

For example, the drama "White Haired Girl" [13], which totally distorts a folk legend, was used as a tool in propaganda campaigns. The stories of rent collection and water dungeons told in the drama, "Liu Wencai," are fabricated too. The purpose of these false stories is to "educate" people to hate landowners. The CCP commonly demonizes their enemies, even China's leader. In particular, the CCP staged a self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square in January 2001 to incite people to hate Falun Gong, and then redoubled their massive genocidal campaign against Falun Gong. Not only has the CCP not changed its ways of killing people, but instead has perfected them by employing new information technology. The CCP could only deceive Chinese people in the past, but now it also deceives people around the world.

2. Instigating the Masses to Kill People

The CCP not only kills people through the mechanism of its dictatorship, but also provokes people to kill each other. Even if CCP had some regulations when it began to persecute and kill, by the time it incited people to join in, nothing could stop the slaughter. For example, when the CCP was carrying out its land reform, they allowed any local land reform committee to willfully execute landowners.

3. Destroying One's Spirit before Killing His Physical Body

Another pattern is to crush one's spirit before killing the human body. In China's history, even the leaders of the most cruel and ferocious dynasty in China's history, the Qin (221 -- 207 BC), never destroyed people's spirits. The CCP has never given people the chance to die like a martyr. They promulgated policies such as lightening the sentences of those who offered concessions, making them stricter for those who resisted, and "lowering one's head to admit the crime is the only way to survive." The CCP forces people to give up their own thoughts and beliefs, making them die without dignity. Those who died with dignity would encourage more followers. Only when people die in a humiliating and shameful way can the CCP achieve its purpose of controlling people. The reason that the CCP persecutes Falun Gong with extreme cruelty and ferocity is that Falun Gong practitioners consider their beliefs more important than their lives. When the CCP was unable to destroy their dignity, it did everything it could to destroy them physically.

4. Killing People by Alliances and Alienation

When killing people, the CCP would use both the carrot and the stick by befriending and alienating people. The CCP always tries to attack a small portion of the population, around 5 percent. The CCP considers the majority of the population to be good and only needing to be "educated." We can divide the CCP's educational methods into two parts: education through terror, and education through kindness. Education through terror uses fear to show people that those who oppose the CCP will come to no good end, making them stay far away from those previously attacked by the Party. Education through kindness lets people see that if they can earn the trust of the CCP and stand in alliance with the CCP, they will not only be safe but also have a good chance to be promoted or gain other benefits. Lin Biao [14] once said, "A small portion [suppressed] today and a small portion tomorrow, soon there will be a large portion in total." Those who rejoiced surviving one movement often became victims of the next.

5. Nipping Potential Threats in the Bud and Secret Extra-Judicial Killings

Recently the CCP has developed the killing pattern of nipping problems in the bud and killing secretly outside the law. For example, as workers' strikes or peasants' protests become more common, the CCP eliminates the movements before they can grow by arresting the "ringleaders" and sentencing them to severe punishment. As freedom and human rights become the common understanding and trend throughout the world, the CCP doesn't sentence any Falun Gong practitioner to the death penalty. However, under Jiang Zemin's instigation of "no one is responsible for killing Falun Gong practitioners," Falun Gong practitioners have tragically been killed all over the country. Although the Chinese Constitution stipulates the citizens' right of appeal, the CCP uses plainclothes policeman or hires local thugs to stop, arrest and send appellants back home, sometimes even putting them into labor camps.

6. Killing One Person to Warn Others

The persecutions of Zhang Zhixin, Yu Luoke and Lin Zhao are all such examples. [15]

7. Using Suppression to Conceal the Truth of Killing

Famous people with international influence are usually suppressed, but not killed. The purpose of this is to conceal the killing of those who have no influence or power and whose deaths will not draw public attention. For example, during the campaign of suppressing the reactionaries, the CCP did not kill high-ranking generals such as Long Yun, Fu Zuoyi and Du Yuming, instead killing lower level KMT officers and soldiers.

The CCP's use of killing over a long period of time has distorted the Chinese people's souls. Now, in China, many people have the tendency to kill. When terrorists attacked the U.S. on September 11, 2001, many Chinese people cheered the attacks on Mainland Chinese Internet message boards. Advocates of "unrestricted war" against the U.S. and the Western bloc were everywhere, making people tremble with fear.

The article "The Chinese Communist Party's History of Killing" concludes:

Due to the CCP's information blockade, we have no way of knowing exactly how many people have died from the various movements of persecution that occurred during its rule. Over 50 million people died in the movements listed above alone. In addition, the CCP also killed people of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan and other places; information on these incidents is difficult to unearth.

Besides those who have died, we have no way of knowing how many people became disabled, mentally ill, enraged, depressed, or frightened to death through the persecution they suffered. Every single death is a tragedy that leaves deep scars on the souls of the victims' family members.

As the Japan-based Yomiuri News once reported, the Chinese central government's survey of all 29 provinces and direct-administrated cities at that time [16] showed that about 600 million people were direct victims or negatively affected by the Cultural Revolution, comprising roughly half of China's population.

Stalin once said, "The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of one million is a statistic." When told that many people starved to death in Sichuan province, Li Jingquan, the former Sichuan Province Communist Party Secretary, remarked, "Which dynasty didn't have people die?" Mao Zedong said that "Casualties are inevitable for any struggle. Death happens often." This is the atheist communists' view on life.

Evil cults sacrifice people and use their blood to worship evil specters. Since its beginnings, the communist party has continued to kill people--when it couldn't kill those outside the Party, it would even kill its own people--to commemorate its "class struggles," "inter-party struggles," and other fallacies. It even put its own party general secretary, chief of the military, generals, ministers and others on the sacrificial altar of its evil cult.

Many think we should give the CCP time to reform itself, saying that it is quite restrained in its killings now. First of all, killing one person still makes one a murderer. From a wider perspective, because killing is one method for the CCP to govern its terror-based regime, the CCP kills as few or as many as necessary to maintain power. The CCP's actions are unpredictable. When people lack a strong sense of fear, the CCP could kill more to increase their sense of terror; when people are already fearful, killing a few could maintain the sense of terror; when people can't control their fear, announcing its intention to kill, with no need to really kill people, would be enough for the CCP to maintain terror. After having experienced countless political killing movements, people have formed a conditioned reflex response to the CCP's terror, and there is no need to even mention killing. Even the propaganda machine's use of mass criticism is enough to bring back people's memories of terror.

Whenever people's sense of terror changes, the CCP will adjust the intensity of its killing. The number killed in and of itself is not the goal; the key is the consistency in its killings. The CCP has not become gentler and neither has it let go of its butcher's knife. It is the people who have become more obedient. Once the people stand up to request something that goes beyond the tolerance of the CCP, the CCP will not hesitate to kill.

Out of the need to maintain terror, random killing gives the maximum result to achieve this goal. In various large-scale historic movements, the identity, crime, and sentencing standard for victims were kept intentionally vague. To avoid being killed themselves, people would often restrict their speech and actions to "safe" levels. These restrictions even exceeded those that the CCP themselves placed on people. That's why in every movement, people tend to act "rather leftist than rightist," following the will of the government, and participate in the movements at the local level. Because every level of government officials wanted to expand the movement to ensure their own safety, the lower the level, the crueler the campaign became. Such society-wide voluntary intensification of terror stems from the CCP's random killings.

In its long history of killing, the CCP has metamorphosed itself into a depraved serial killer. Through killing, it satisfies its perverted sense of the ultimate power of deciding people's life and death. Through killing, it eases its own innermost fear. Through killing, it suppresses social unrest and dissatisfaction caused by its earlier murders. Today, the compounded bloody debts of the CCP have made a benevolent solution impossible. It can only rely on intense pressure and totalitarian rule to maintain its existence until its final moment. Despite occasionally disguising itself through redressing its murder victims, the CCP's bloodthirsty nature has never changed. It will be even less likely to change in the future.

Australian Practitioner Brings Lawsuit against Jiang Zemin - Chinese Embassy Attempts to Obstruct

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Cuiying, a renowned artist of traditional Chinese paintings and a Falun Dafa practitioner, filed a lawsuit against the former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and the 610 Office for genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity. The case was accepted by the Supreme Court of New South Wales Australia and the two defendants were ordered to appear in court on December 10, 2004.

Officials in the Chinese Embassy are working with different offices in Australia in an effort to end the lawsuit through diplomatic channels. China's Ambassador to Australia, Fu Ying, visited the Foreign Relations and Trade Ministry in Canberra several times to negotiate a diplomatic solution.

Falun Dafa practitioners in Australia said they would join practitioners around the world in holding righteous thoughts to support the Australian lawsuit against Jiang, and bring Jiang and members of the 610 Office to justice for the crimes they have committed.

San Diego, California: A Prominent Retired Professor in the Local Taiwanese Community Enthusiastically Introduces Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) During the afternoon of December 18, 2004, The Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of San Diego and the Taiwanese Cultural Association invited retired professor Mr. Li Rumu from San Diego State University (SDSU) to introduce Falun Gong to the local Taiwanese community.

Prof. Li Ruimu began practicing Falun Gong this summer, and he soon obtained both physical and mental health benefits. His wife witnessed his positive changes, and also began practicing Falun Gong. Prof. Li wrote down some of his experiences since beginning the practice and published them in "Message of the Country" (Xiang Xun), a publication sponsored by the Taiwanese Cultural Association. The article aroused many people's interest and many people called to inquire. Thus, Prof. Li and the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and Taiwanese Cultural Association organized this opportunity to introduce Falun Gong.

Prof. Li first talked about his experience of practicing Falun Gong. He used to practice several kinds of qigong and had investigated several religions. His conclusion had been that all types of qigong were pretty much the same. This summer, due to a series of miraculous opportunities, he began practicing Falun Gong. According to Prof. Li, after practicing Falun Gong, he experienced obvious changes both physically and mentally in at least six aspects:

His chronic headaches changed from needing to be alleviated daily, to only being light headaches during sleep, and then disappearing altogether. A CT showed that everything is normal.

His high blood pressure and frequent heartburn are now under complete control without the need for medication or acupuncture.

The surface of his tongue used to be covered with a very thick layer of grey or white tongue fur. After practicing Falun Gong, the color of his tongue returned to normal, showing that his internal organs were functioning well. (The condition of the tongue is an important diagnostic element of Traditional Chinese Medicine)

His stools used to be black and formless. After practicing, they have returned to normal.

Varicose veins and seeing floating black spots were significantly reduced.

Bad habits and attachments that he'd maintained for a long time were given up.

Prof. Li is an expert in psychology, so he conducted a psychological game with attendees. The game illustrated that people are likely to form a first impression due to the influence of their education and environment, which prevents them from seeing something's true nature. He advised the attendees to put aside their prejudices, learn about qigong and cultivation practice, and not miss the opportunity to practice cultivation.

Prof. Li also used six health survey reports, and the example of Australian Falun Gong practitioner David Liang, who rapidly recovered from severe injuries to his feet, to illustrate the miraculous effects of practicing Falun Gong. When someone asked if Falun Gong's truth clarification to the public is being involved in politics, Prof. Li said that truth clarification is done to oppose the persecution, and has nothing to do with politics.

Three more Falun Gong practitioners shared their cultivation experiences. Suzanne from Taiwan's Pingdong County said that because of malnutrition in her childhood, taking medications was commonplace for her, but she has not needed to see a doctor since she began practicing Falun Gong eight years ago. Shawn talked about the miraculous stories of the improved health of his parents, who are in their 80s, after practicing Falun Gong. Dr. Liu introduced his medical research, which showed that the energy field of Falun Gong practitioners can effectively enhance the viability of cardiac muscle cells.

Though sponsored by the Taiwanese community, many people from Mainland China also attended the meeting. After listening to the introductory speeches, all the attendees showed great interest. While practitioners were demonstrating the exercises, they left their seats and began to follow along. More than ten people expressed that they hoped to attend nine-day seminars to watch Master's lecture videos and systematically learn Falun Gong.

Russia: Promoting Falun Gong and Exposing the Persecution in Moscow City Center (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On December the 18th 2004, practitioners held activities in a square in front of the Art Theatre in Moscow's city center.

Introducing Falun Gong and clarifying the truth in central Moscow.

Some people in Moscow are still deceived by the slanderous lies fabricated by former Chinese President Jiang Zemin and his cronies to defame Falun Gong. After visiting a Falun Gong experience sharing conference in New York, some of the Russian practitioners realized that they should extensively and thoroughly introduce Falun Dafa and clarify the truth to Russian government, the Moscow government, as well as citizens in all communities, just like what practitioners are doing in Manhattan.

We should let more people understand that Falun Dafa is great and help people to be aware of the brutal persecution launched by the Jiang's group against Falun Gong practitioners, so as not to be deceived by the fabricated lies and help stop the persecution.

The activities on Saturday were held in the center of the city, which was crowded with people. Over two thousand flyers in Chinese and Russian were given out within three hours. Many passers-by looked at the eye-catching banners in Chinese and Russian: "Falun Dafa is Good!", "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance", "Stop the persecution against Falun Gong", "Bring Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to justice!" A set of poster boards showing pictures of over one hundred cruel torture methods being employed against Falun Gong practitioners in China also attracted attention.

A Successful Seminar is Held by Practitioners at Taiwan Taidong Sports Experimental High School (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of December 15, 2004, over 400 teachers and students of Taidong Sports Experimental High School attended their weekly meeting in the school auditorium. This week, the topic of the meeting was "Life Education," and the school administration invited three Falun Gong practitioners to conduct a seminar. The weekly meeting is a routine activity, but this time the audience was very orderly, and actively participated. Warm responses were received after the meeting.

All teachers and students attend the meeting

The lecturers were two graduate students from Donghua University and a female student from Taiwan Culture University. Mr. Taixiang first introduced the purpose of the seminar. The three practitioners came from different places, but Falun Gong brought them together. They wanted to share the beauty that Falun Gong brings to their lives.

Jianhao told a short story called "A Universal Key in Life." He told about finding a universal key that can open the door to the heart, so he can not only solve conflicts among students, but also make his life happier and easier. This universal key is "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance."

Jianhao then introduced the water crystal experiments done by Dr. Masaru Emoto in Japan as an example showing that life needs "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." When the large screen displayed the ugly crystal that was produced when the water heard curses, and the beautiful crystals produced when the water heard praise, most of the teachers and students opened their eyes wide and gave out a surprised sigh.

Practitioner Ms. Jiaying grew up in Taidong, and traveled from Taipei to participate in the seminar. She related well to the young students, telling them how she changed from being pessimistic and unconfident to being active and open minded. Jiaying emphasized that Falun Gong is not only for old people. When she talked about how Falun Gong helped her to reconcile the relationship with her mother, her mother, who was sitting in audience, stood up and waved and smiled to the audience. The audience gave her warm applause. In the end, Jiaying showed a short musical movie "You and I are Predestined" to conclude her segment of the seminar.

After the lectures, the Taidong Falun Gong practitioners gave a demonstration of the five sets of exercises. The movements were orderly and beautiful. Many audience members began to learn the movements. Among the demonstrating practitioners, one young boy caught the attention of the audience. He was a sixth-grader from an elementary school in Chishang Township in Taidong County. His mother was interviewed by lecturer Jianhao on the stage. She said that after her son practiced Falun Gong for a week, his allergies and runny nose condition improved. Now after three months of practicing Falun Gong, his physical health has improved significantly. He now wears short sleeved shirts during the winter, even though he was previously very afraid of the cold. So the schoolmaster and the teachers learned that Falun Gong has dramatic effectiveness in improving health.

Mr. Taihsiang added that the easy exercises have profound content. He also showed the audience a short video called "Meditation."

Next, Taihsiang talked about the brutal persecution going on in China. Falun Gong spread quickly in the world and Jiang Zemin envied it so much that he ordered the persecution. Over 100 million people practice Falun Gong in over 60 countries, but in China thousands of practitioners are jailed or sentenced to forced labor camps, and over one thousand practitioners have been tortured to death. The lecturers played a tragic but beautiful love story movie "Meteor Rain." The main actress practiced Falun Gong and was persecuted to death in China. The main actor, her fiancé, later began to distribute flyers on the street that clarified the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. The students were captivated, and some of them looked like that they had realized something from the movie.

The three lecturers asked questions from time to time to encourage participation from the audience. The people who answered questions were given a delicate paper lotus flower made by Taidong practitioners. The students eagerly raised their hands to answer the questions, and the atmosphere was very active but orderly. Some teachers said after the meeting that it was usually difficult to keep the sports major students sitting for two consecutive hours. But at this weekly meeting it was easy, and the result was outstanding. In the end, the three young lecturers donated some books to the school library. The books included Zhuan Falun.

After the meeting, some warmhearted teachers surveyed a few classes with a questionnaire.

Most students liked the lectures: Votes were distributed evenly among the lectures, demonstrations, and videos.

Suggestions for the lectures: 95% gave positive feedback and no special suggestions.

What you learned from the lectures: Almost every answer sheet had some experiences. Here are some of the comments:

"Life is precious."

"We must remember Tolerance"

"Calm the heart. Don't curse people frequently."

"Look for the source of problems inside yourself."

"In the future, no matter what, I will not swear at other students."

"I learned about 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance' and Falun Gong."

"Need to practice Forbearance."

"Now I know the meaning of 'Falun Dafa is good.'"

"I felt the lecture opened many locks in my heart."

"In the future, if I get frustrated, I will look inside myself. I shall change my bad temper."

"Even water can read words and listen to music!"

"I want to learn the exercises."

"Very interesting"

"Face challengers bravely"

"Forgive people. Give others a chance to correct themselves."

"It helped me a lot."

"I learned that a good thought toward others can change things."

"So the meditation can help the heart calm down, practicing Falun Gong can improve health. It is so powerful."

"Truthfulness is to be a truthful and responsible person. Compassion is to be a kind-hearted person. Tolerance is to be tolerant with all kind of things."

Practitioners Exchange Insights and Experiences

Bearing Witness to History: Teacher Cured a French Child from Thousands of Miles Away

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 5th, 1994, our Teacher, Mr. Li Hongzhi, was in midst of giving a second round of Falun Gong lectures in Dalian City, Liaoning province, when two Frenchmen, looking anxious, requested that they meet with him. They introduced themselves as a father and son from France and said their god specifically asked them to go to China and ask Teacher to cure the younger man's son. The child was seven or eight years old and had been treated in many hospitals without any success. The child could not speak or move and had to lay down all the time.

Teacher asked about the child's condition. Since the child was not present, Teacher asked the two Frenchmen to picture child in their minds. Then, Teacher used his hand to simulate the shape of the child and started to treat the child, removing the illness as if he was drawing silk out of a cocoon. After a while, Teacher said the child was cured and asked the Frenchmen to call home to inquire about his condition.

The hotel where Teacher stayed was not a luxury hotel and did not have international long distance telephone service, so the two Frenchmen returned to their own hotel and called home immediately. The younger man's wife told him that she wished he had called earlier because a miracle happened in their home. She told him that a cloud of golden light appeared in their home, and the child suddenly could move and speak. The child asked, "What happened, mom?" The child was cured -- what a miracle!

Saving People Is Paramount: Establishing an Information Distribution Site

(Clearwisdom.net) I would like to share my experience and insights on how we established our local information distribution site, and how we operate it.

1. Get rid of the attachment of fear, abolish preconceived notions, do not wait or rely on others.

In the beginning we distributed truth-clarifying materials obtained from other practitioners. We did not give it much advance thought, and would do it whenever materials became available. Suddenly one day we could not get the materials anymore, and even the weekly papers would take a long time to reach us.

After waiting for a while I told myself we could not continue waiting like this, and the idea of getting my own computer and printer flashed through my mind. Right away I put that idea behind me, feeling it would be very risky. Through Fa study, I knew I could not rely on others and wait for the environment to change. I realized that I must put my idea in motion, and not continue relying on and waiting for others, since that meant wasting time every day. I bought the computer and printer, overcame my own fear and determined to get on the Internet.

After getting rid of my attachment to fear, by the second day I had completed all necessary arrangements to get on the Internet. It only took me about 10 minutes, from setting up the computer to getting on the Internet. I used the Internet firewall security software introduced to me by other practitioners, as well as software designed to break through the Internet blockade, and I opened the Minghui website in no time.

In actuality, surfing the Internet and downloading the files was not difficult, the difficult part laid in whether we could overcome ourselves, overcome old perceptions, and completely deny the arrangements of the old forces reflected in our thoughts. Each practitioner must rise above the rigid framework within which they used to think, and act to take pressure off the shoulders of other practitioners.

In fact, I had already known how to get on the Internet, but had not made an effort to do so earlier by myself. Rather, I ended up going to another practitioner's place. This meant that I acknowledged the arrangement by the old forces. It also meant that I had a very selfish mind, leaving the difficult tasks to others, and saving the easy parts, the safest parts, for myself.

Next, let me go over the operation of our information distribution site.

2. Handle the finance issue seriously and leave no gap for the evil old forces to exploit.

After the information distribution site was established, the most critical factor guaranteeing the proper operation of the site was obtaining and handling capital. The way practitioners who are in positions of direct responsibility handle this resource is critical to the overall operation of the site. We must never be vague and careless with the money. Practitioners must set their mind right and act properly, and treat this issue very seriously. Fellow practitioners chipped in all the money for the site. They all did it well, with a heart devoted to validating the Fa. They would regularly send in money saved and give it to the coordinator. We must not get attached to anything, nor try to judge others. So long as we put our heart to saving sentient beings, there should be no hurdles that we cannot overcome. At all times we must be sober-minded about the fact that the money is dedicated to saving sentient beings, and remember that the money we received carried the trust of our fellow practitioners in us.

3. Maintain consistent righteous thoughts, never become complacent, everyone is in charge because we are a team.

When I stated that everyone was in charge, I did not mean that everyone should always try to boss others as a superior and put himself above others. Rather, each of us must be responsible to the Fa, to our fellow practitioners, and to sentient beings, as demonstrated by our actions and thoughts. There are no role models in cultivation, and we all cultivate in our own environment and do our part well. The only difference is that we have different "assignments." Each one is indispensable, and there is no concept that someone is superior to others.

At our site, practitioners would seize every minute to study the Fa send forth righteous thoughts after finishing the tasks. We should use the Fa as our guide and never be stirred by phenomena taking place in the world. At all times, we exchange and share our thoughts and experiences with fellow practitioners, based on the attitude of coordination and accomplishing the tasks well. As in a major battle, practitioners who distribute flyers are like soldiers on the front line, and the practitioners who prepare materials are like the logistics and supply forces. As the saying goes, "Logistics must be in place before the soldiers can be mobilized." We could only quietly work in conjunction with practitioners who distribute the information, in order to produce good results and fully expand the effect of each Dafa particle. The more dedication we put forth in producing the materials, the more fellow practitioners were devoted in distributing them, and the more sentient beings would cherish them.

4. Thinking that the distribution site would be the focal point of persecution by the old forces would be acknowledging the arrangement by the old forces.

Many practitioners were afraid or unwilling to establish information distribution sites. They thought that they would become major targets of persecution once they establish the sites. In fact, such a notion meant that we completely accepted the arrangement of the old forces. The purpose of distributing truth-clarification flyers, explaining the truth face to face, and producing the truth-clarification materials is all aimed at saving sentient beings. Each activity is a different aspect of the same effort. The old forces must dare not be against, nor should they persecute such an effort. The key to success was in how we divided our efforts, and the mental conditions under which the efforts were carried out.

We are Dafa disciples and we follow the path arranged by Teacher. We must send powerful righteous thoughts to purge our human notions because our mission is to save sentient beings. Practitioners who are producing truth-clarification materials must never acknowledge that information distribution sites are major targets of persecution -- they must not even have a single thought of this. All practitioners must not have such a notion and perception. We should all mobilize to establish more information distribution sites, and then there would be no such thing as a central information distribution site. When everybody is doing it, then there would not be any major targets.

The process of establishing the site was also the process of eradicating the evil and denying the old forces. Let us all put down our selfishness, consider the big picture and the overall situation instead of emphasizing our own safety. Let us fully maximize the power of each Dafa particle, and decisively and completely expose and eradicate the evil.

An Australian Practitioner's Journey to Tanzania

(Clearwisdom.net) After the shooting incident in South Africa, I visited South Africa for a month to clarify the facts. After returning to Australia, I realized that Manhattan was in need of many practitioners to clarify the facts to New Yorkers and tourists. Thus, I decided to travel to New York.

As I packed my luggage and confirmed my airline ticket, I heard about the lawsuit against the former Chinese minister of education in Tanzania. No practitioners live in Tanzania, and practitioners from other regions were needed to take care of this situation and provide support. I was very keen on visiting the United States, as life in Africa could be unbearable. Also, I was aware of the difficulties facing those who filed the lawsuit. Therefore, I was in a dilemma. I faced the choice of going to the United States or Africa. After much thought, I decided to go to Africa, as this would be a greater challenge. I changed my plane ticket and off I went to clarify the truth and promote the Fa in East Africa. Once I met all the kind people in Africa I understood that they were waiting for the Fa to lighten their hard lives, and I fathomed the many lives yearning for a new future. I understood deep in my heart that going to Africa was the right decision for me.

Breaking Through Obstacles

Upon arriving in Tanzania, I found that some Canadian and American practitioners had already arrived there to clarify the facts to the government, and they had started a practice site. Because of long-term financial benefits paid by China to Tanzania's government, the government and the media were afraid, and were unwilling to listen to any voice different from that of the Chinese government. This hindered the progress of clarifying the facts. As it was very difficult to meet with government officials, we shifted the focus to clarifying the facts to the media.

At the beginning, the state-owned media did not dare to report our activities. Therefore, we contacted a privately owned media company. The only thought we had on our minds was to clarify the truth, because we realized that truth-clarification is like the sole key to unlock people's hearts and open the door to kindness and conscience. One news reporter understood us and responded positively to Dafa principles immediately after we clarified the facts to him. He helped us to organize our first press conference. Many news reporters attended and I felt very pleased. However, only a few reported us.

I felt that I needed to take the opportunity to get to know them, and that it was my responsibility to save them through Dafa. Therefore, I contacted every news reporter I could get hold of and arranged meetings. I wanted to clarify the truth to them from the bottom of my heart.

It was clear that Master had spread the glory of Dafa upon this land. Miracles happened continuously at the practice site. An Indian lady who had suffered from aches and pains for twenty years recovered her health completely after only two weeks of practicing Falun Gong. She said, "Now, when I walk, I feel like I am walking on air! Dafa has given me a new lease on life!" There was also a businessman who suffered from severe insomnia that was cured without medical treatment after he started to practice Falun Gong. I encouraged them to write about their experiences, and invited some reporters to meet with them. Facing such miracles, the reporters were deeply moved. One reporter immediately learned the fifth exercise, the sitting meditation. Later, he told me, "After the exercise, I slept extremely well. I have never slept so well in my life." I knew the evil's barricade had been broken.

Without wasting any time, we held another press conference. We told of the local people who benefited from the practice of Falun Gong. After the conference, the government television station reported on Falun Gong for the first time. We had opened the gate to the news media! More and more newspapers began to report about Falun Gong.

The World's People Are Awakening

The Chinese Consulate became worried. They wrote articles in the local papers that slandered and vilified Falun Dafa. After reading the slander and vilification, the local people became curious about Falun Dafa. They wanted to learn more and understand what it was all about. Many people arrived at the practice site and asked questions about Falun Dafa. They wanted to clear the doubts in their mind. This was such an effortless benefit!

Gradually I made friends with news reporters. On one occasion, I was invited by a reporter to attend the German Ambassador's national day reception. I was introduced to the dignitaries from a number of countries, and took the opportunity to clarify the facts to them. They told me that the Chinese Embassy had sent them articles slandering Falun Dafa. One of the Embassy secretaries told me the hatred expressed in those articles was beyond the comprehension and belief of the readers! She could not believe that a minister of education in China would use such vicious language. The gathering provided those I met with a deeper understanding of Falun Dafa, and they were glad to meet with us again later.

The next day, the reporter called the Chinese Embassy and told them how the European officials reacted to the articles sent to them by the Chinese Consulate. She told them that the problem was with the Chinese government and not with Falun Gong. The officials at the Chinese Embassy became alarmed and tried to arrange a meeting between the reporter and someone who specifically deals with Falun Gong issues. The reporter asked the official: "Why do you need a special official to deal with Falun Gong? Could you kindly explain that to me?" The simple question hit home. It made the Chinese official speechless. He could not answer.

After this, weekly reports about Falun Gong appeared in the local newspapers. They published the original text of the letters sent to them by Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world. They no longer publicized any material provided by the Chinese Embassy.

Tanzania is an impoverished nation, like many other African countries. People struggle each day to meet the most basic needs of their families. In the beginning, many people who came to the practice site thought they might be able to make some money by learning Falun Gong. Reporters had previously said to me, "When they have a difficult time making ends meet, how can they think about practicing Falun Gong?" But, the Buddha Law is boundless. After they experienced the energy of Falun Dafa they all said, "I love Falun Dafa. You have brought me the gift of life." Falun Dafa is more precious than diamonds and gold. These people who had suffered poverty and hardship for generations have now seen hope, and they have found the starting point to return home. People of vastly different backgrounds and beliefs came together to practice the Falun Gong exercises and study the Fa together. Seeing this, I could feel Master's immense compassion for sentient beings.

Master arranged for people to come forward to help us. A local person suggested that I start a new practice site in a Buddhist temple he knew about. The first time we went there to demonstrate the exercises, the abbot of the temple introduced us to his students. When we spoke about the facts of the persecution, a businessman was so moved that he invited me to visit him at his office. He wanted to introduce me to all his associates and circle of friends. I later met the owners of two cable television stations. They offered to run free advertisements for us on TV. I suggested that they run Master's exercise video so that more people could benefit from the program. After that, one of the stations broadcast Master teaching the exercises for an hour daily. Another station broadcast the same program at different hours two times a day. Some people called us "Falun Dafa" and they imitated the arms over the head posture of the second exercise when they saw us.

The practice site had become a landmark on scenic Ocean Drive, alongside the beautiful Indian Ocean. Even the taxi drivers asked whether we can do a Falun Gong program in their local language on the radio stations, so that they can learn about Falun Dafa while driving. When we handed out flyers on the streets, people came up to us and said they had received our flyers, and looked at the website. They said they couldn't believe the brutality of the persecution! Thanks to the media's continuing positive reports about the practice, Falun Dafa has become widely known.

The atmosphere had totally changed after the two press conferences. They were followed by two debates. One was on human rights at the University of Dar es Salaam, with Australia's David Liang and an American practitioner speaking about their experiences as victims of the persecution. The next day a science lecture about the benefits of practicing Falun Gong, and the prevention of HIV and other illnesses was given. Both forums were well attended by locals and VIPs. Because of the constant publicity, even the Indian Embassy called and requested a meeting with us to hear more about Falun Gong. They asked for a copy of the resolution that was passed by the Human Rights Association so they could send it to their government. The diplomatic circle was observing the whole media build-up with great interest. One local had a friend who was a government intelligence officer. He had told him that they were watching us and greatly admired our spirit.

The human rights forum enabled all attendees to learn the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong. Students at Dar es Salaam University passed a resolution to condemn human rights abuses against Falun Gong practitioners during the forum, and published it in the newspaper. The resolution was sent out to all African human rights organizations, as well as worldwide. The Ambassador of China was so petrified that he personally visited the Chancellor of the University. He spent three hours trying to persuade the students to denounce the resolution. The students replied, "What you say is different from what is said by the Falun Gong practitioners. Shall we arrange for a discussion between you and the Falun Gong practitioners?" The Ambassador dared not respond to the suggestion, and tried to find an excuse by saying that the Falun Gong issue was not worth a mention in China, and that it was futile to have such a discussion! The students retorted, "You have spent three hours as a representative of your nation trying to convince us there is no persecution and to withdraw the resolution. Aren't your comments contradictory?" The Chinese Ambassador could not answer that question and left dejectedly. I was really pleased to hear about the courageous action of the students in upholding truth and justice. At the same time, I also hoped that the Chinese ambassador would think deeply upon the situation and reposition himself.

Reflections of the Government

Since everything was going so well and the environment was getting more and more righteous, I felt it was time to clarify the facts again to the government officials. Hence I telephoned to make an appointment with the Prime Minister. The press secretary to the Prime Minister expressed the desire to meet with me immediately. He said he noticed Falun Gong had attracted much publicity. I showed him the experiences that were written by the local people, and how they had benefited, and how it could save the country billions of dollars, exactly as had happened in China. I informed him about the American practitioner's speech. He had provided scientific evidence for a possible solution to the AIDS epidemic in Tanzania. It was all because of the power of Dafa. He listened very attentively when I told him about Falun Gong and the persecution. He told me the Prime Minister was well informed on the Falun Gong situation and he was very grateful that we had traveled so far to come to help the Tanzanians. I asked if he could help arrange for the teaching of the Falun Gong exercises on official TV stations, so that more African people could benefit from the practice. He said he would try to talk to the people concerned.

Transformation of a Thief

I would like to share a little story here, as it shows the power of "Truth - Compassion - Forbearance."

On the second day after arriving in Tanzania, some fellow practitioners and I took a cab. I sat in the middle of the back seat, holding my handbag containing half the money I had brought with me for introducing the Fa. The car had to stop frequently due to the congested traffic. Suddenly, a youth of about twenty years reached in through the open car window and grabbed my handbag. The driver was badly shaken by that and dared not move. I did not know where my strength came from, but I opened the car door and gave chase. At that moment, I had only one thought in my mind. The money was for the purpose of introducing Falun Gong and could absolutely not be lost. As I chased, I sensed that everyone in the street was also running alongside me, and I could no longer differentiate the thief from the people. Shortly afterward, someone stopped and told me that the police had caught the thief. I followed the people to the police station and found that many reporters had already arrived there. Normally, it was not easy to talk to them all in one place. Now, they had all assembled without having invited them. What a marvelous opportunity. The police station became our news conference place. We told the reporters that we have traveled thousands of miles at our own expense to share the goodness of Dafa with the people in Tanzania. We handed them many truth clarification materials. Master is magnificent. He had arranged everything for us! As we let go of our attachments, and immerse ourselves wholeheartedly in Falun Dafa work, is there anything we cannot achieve? Many people apologized to me, expressing their regret that such a thing had happened in their country.

The next day, I had to go to the central police station. The police had the thief meet me face-to-face. The thief was still arguing and was not willing to admit to his crime. He claimed that he had found the handbag on the road. The police asked if I wanted to file a complaint against the culprit. After informing the police that I would not do such a thing, I came face to face with him and spoke calmly to him: "I am not planning to file a complaint against you. I practice 'Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance).' I know deep in my heart that one must not tell lies. Stealing my handbag was wrong and denying it is even worse. But I also believe that everyone can make a mistake. It does not matter now, but if a mistake is made, one must rectify it." He said he was sorry that he stole my handbag, and his attitude began to change. Police officers from around the entire office came to listen. They showed deep interest in what was happening. The thief's clothes were ragged and his face showed weariness. He appeared as if he had not eaten a proper meal for a long time. I took some money from my handbag and gave to him to buy some food to eat. I told him, "All the money I have here is to help the people of Tanzania. You nearly robbed me of half of that! Can you understand what you have done? I hope you remember Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, and from today onward, you will try to be a good person." His eyes became moist. For the first time in his life he was treated with kindness and respect. A policewoman was touched by the scene and told the culprit that she could give him a job at a farm near her home. The offer was accepted. When I was leaving the police station, the person chased after me and said that he would remember "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance" forever and he would tell everyone at the village where he would be living about Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.

This story made the newspapers, and the reporter wrote: "This small episode was of great significance to me. What is Falun Gong? That Chinese lady by the name of Emmy used the strength of her character to arouse my thoughts about the problem. She utilized the first principle of Falun Gong, 'Truthfulness' to educate the thief, and at the same time used the second principle of 'Compassion' to forgive him. And the policewoman personally combined the principles of 'Truthfulness' and 'Compassion' to lead the thief from his life of crime."

Reflections of my Experience

During the last two months in Africa, time passed by in the blink of an eye. Things were unfolding smoothly and naturally, with Master's compassion constantly there helping us, looking after us, and guiding us. For us, the most important thing is how we should walk our path righteously and be responsible to the Fa, be responsible to society, to sentient beings, and to ourselves. I feel that in the true sense, we haven't done much at all, and we are not able to do much either. We made progress only because our thoughts on our cultivation path were governed by the Fa that the Fa created everything for us. Master has arranged it all. I have come to understand that when we clarify the truth with strong righteous minds and pure hearts, the power and the wisdom of Dafa will manifest through our truth-clarification.

In the process of clarifying the facts, we will sometimes meet with difficulties. If we use the hearts of an everyday people to evaluate them, many of the problems will remain without solutions. However, as Master has taught us, no one can block the progress of Fa-rectification. As long as we let go of our fears, discard our attachments, and strive to fulfill our great vows, the immense compassion of the Buddha Fa will manifest, and sentient beings will be saved.

Do Not Accept Unreasonable Excessive Workloads Imposed on Falun Dafa Practitioners

In 2002, the supervisor at my work unit increased my workload because I had taken the opportunity to explain the true situation about Falun Dafa within my work unit. I was made responsible for the workload of five to six employees every day and became so busy that I started to make some mistakes.

Since last Chinese New Year, I learned that three of my fellow practitioners were also too busy with work to have enough time to study the Fa or do truth-clarification work and made trivial mistakes at work. Since we shared similar experiences, I decided to write down my understanding about this situation in order to discuss it with fellow practitioners. Feel free to kindly point out any misunderstandings.

1. We have adopted the misguided notion, which is common amongst the general public that our supervisors at work think most highly of those with the highest workload. Although we realized that our boss had been deceived into persecuting us by increasing our workload, we still swelled with pride when we caught sight of someone else's jealous gaze. We unwittingly acknowledged the persecution in this manner.

2. We regard the common pursuits and abilities of the general public too highly. After we manage to overcome difficulties, we mistakenly think that the tougher our environment, the stronger our abilities. We did not realize that our outstanding abilities stemmed from the wisdom bestowed by the Fa, which is the understanding we need to achieve during anti-persecution period. Our purpose is to save sentient beings and to completely eliminate all the traps and obstacles put in our way.

3. Our righteous thoughts are not sufficiently strong and we focus too much on trivial instead of important things. Currently in Mainland China, people will do whatever their boss' orders them to do because they are afraid of losing their jobs. They do not even want to offer their opinions to their supervisors because they are afraid of damaging their position.

4. We cannot clearly distinguish between our status as Falun Dafa practitioners, the general public and the old forces. After making mistakes at work, we simply regret that we failed to live up to our supervisor's trust and blame ourselves instead of the old forces who are manipulating people to do bad things. Consequently, we fail to ferret out the evil and eliminate it completely.

5. We accepted the misguided idea that the victims rather than the perpetrators should be accused. Even the victim accepted that it was his own fault that he was persecuted. It is similar to someone's wallet being stolen, and instead of condemning the thief, everybody blames the victim of the victim for not keeping an eye on his wallet.

6. During the Fa-rectification period our goal should be to assist Teacher, explain the facts about Falun Dafa and save sentient beings. Instead, we were entrapped by the old force's diversionary tactics. We were guided by our acquired ideas, harassed and perplexed by appearances of the common world, and failed to see through the old force's ploy of hindering us from saving sentient beings.

Refusing to Accept Old Force Arrangements, Clarifying the Truth and Getting My Job Back

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Qing Lian (a pseudonym). I am a Falun Gong practitioner from the city of Dalian. I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1995. During the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) of 2001, I went to Beijing to validate Dafa but was abducted and illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor.

At that time, I did not understand the Fa from the Fa, and I did not have adequate righteous thoughts, so I was "Reformed" and then released before the term was over. After I went back home, fellow practitioners encouraged me and helped me get back on the right track.

They sent me Master's newly published articles and helped me to quickly become clearheaded again. They helped me realize that the reason I went astray was because of the manipulation of the old forces, whose fundamental goal is to shake Dafa disciples' righteous faith and then destroy them. After I became clearheaded again, I felt deeply sorry and immediately made a solemn declaration on the website that whatever I had said and written down and that was against Dafa was null and void, and that I would make the best use of my time to make up for all the losses caused by my lack of faith in Master and Dafa and catch up with the progress of Master's Fa-rectification.

In 2001, when I was being held in the forced labor camp, my company single-handedly terminated my employment contract. After working for this company for thirty years, I lost my employment and source of income. Upon learning this news after my release I thought, "It is no big deal. This is probably intended to get rid of my attachment to money." Besides, some fellow practitioners were saying, "This is a test for you. When the Fa is rectified everything will be paid back." But at the same time I was thinking to myself, "Is it correct to just endure this injustice silently?" Master says,

"A stable job also prevents a cultivator from being held up, due to

problems of food and shelter or survival, in his cultivation, in his spreading the Fa without worries, or in his clarifying the truth and saving the world's people."

("Dafa Is All-Encompassing" Essential for Further Advancement II)

I came to understand that it was not Master's intention for so many Dafa disciples across the country to be illegally deprived of the right to survive and live. It was the arrangement of the old forces forced upon Dafa disciples. At the same time, the interference from the old forces also implicates family members and relatives of Dafa disciples. The old forces' intent is to create conflicts between a cultivator and his family and make it difficult for him to properly walk the path of Fa-rectification, so as to achieve the purpose of destroying the Dafa disciple. I further realized that my passive endurance and tolerance were a compromise to the evil old forces. I must completely deny everything arranged by the old forces. I absolutely should not admit to any of it.

As Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period, how we handle ourselves when facing tribulations is up to us to enlighten to. I decided to go to my company and clarify the truth. I approached leaders at different levels several times over a period of time and clarified the truth to them while asking them to give me back my job. However, my requests were turned down. Their reason was that anybody who had been sent to a forced labor camp and as a result of that been fired because of practicing Falun Gong would have to declare his stand in front of the director of the security department. This company has direct contact with the city 610 Office. Besides, upper management had been influenced by malicious propaganda and their attitudes were evil, especially that of the director of the security department. During the time period from July 20, 1999 to 2002, this director actively worked with the evil and sent nine Dafa disciples from the company directly into detention centers and forced labor camps. During this time, the manager's office illegally took the names of eleven employees practicing Falun Gong off of the company's books. Facing the still unbridled evil, I knew it would be difficult for me to gain back my job.

Master says in "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference,"

"Don't take a detour when you run into difficulties. When you see something that does us harm, or when you see something blocking our validating the Fa, don't take a detour - you should face it, and clarify the truth and save those beings. This is the compassion (cibei) of a Dafa disciple, and it's our saving lives."

I came to understand my responsibilities - I must break through all the constraints forced upon me by the old forces and use the wisdom Master gave me and go meet with people from all walks of society to clarify the truth.

In December 2003, I appealed to the city's Labor Arbitration department on "labor disputes." They accepted my case. When I was interacting with these government workers, because their minds were badly poisoned by the lies, they said some slanderous words about Dafa. When I tried to have a discussion with them, they all refused with the excuse of being busy. What should I do?

Master said,

"It doesn't matter if what you do is expose the evil, or if you use all sorts of approaches, be they direct, indirect or from different angles--as long as you can have people recognize this persecution, you are saving them, and you are extraordinary." ("Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.")

So I wrote to them and explained why I wanted to practice Falun Dafa, how I benefited from cultivation and that Dafa was spreading widely in the world. I also disclosed that Jiang Zemin was ignoring the laws and persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. When I handed the material to an arbitrator, I very politely asked him to take a look. He nodded his head and accepted it. However, the Labor Arbitration experienced resistance when they tried to settle the matter with my company. Eventually they rejected my appeal based upon the reason that the time of my filing the appeal had exceeded the sixty day limit which was stipulated in the Labor Law.

Facing such a result, I was wondering whether I should file a lawsuit. I re-examined myself. First, I did not have enough legal knowledge. Secondly, my truth-clarification had not been thorough enough. I thought, "I am a Dafa disciple of the Fa-rectification period. I must be responsible for righteous elements in the cosmos. Don't be discouraged when facing trouble. I must have strong righteous thoughts and overcome these difficulties." Because my thoughts were righteous, Master arranged everything for me, including a chance encounter with a Dafa disciple who had worked as a lawyer for several decades. So I worked with the fellow practitioner to jointly void the arrangement of the old forces.

Based on the "Temporary Regulations on Labor Contract Practice of State-Run Enterprises", we listed the various violations my company had done and filed a lawsuit against it. The result was the court maintained the ruling of the Labor Arbitration and did not support my reasons for the lawsuit. The judge said, "There's nothing I can do. I have to listen to the president of the court." He said that my company had sent people to talk to the president in private many times, and that the president had told him in person that the court should not let me win the case because of the so-called political issue. Clearly, the law enforcement personnel were violating the law. However, none of the troubles a cultivator experiences is by accident. I knew that the truth clarification needed to continue. I must let all related people know the truth of Dafa without pursuing the end result.

So I filed the lawsuit a second time at the intermediate court, requesting that the original ruling be revoked and the case is re-examined. After the court session was opened, the judge declared that he would negotiate with my company and asked me to wait with patience. I therefore took advantage of this good opportunity to let judges at this level learn more truth about Dafa so that they would be saved. I chose to take the form of "in-court defending plus supplemental explanation." I wrote an essay titled "Mr. Judge Please Try to Understand My Case Further" and handed it to the judge. My writing explicitly stated that my going to Beijing and clarifying the truth about Dafa did not violate any law, that it was the policemen who violated the law when they arrested me, as well as the enterprise which had unjustly expelled me from work and thereby also violated the law. I told them the truth of the persecution of Dafa. I also told them that Jiang Zemin had been sued in overseas courts.

Three months later, the intermediate court made a decision in my favor. They revoked my company's decision to terminate my labor contract, restored my service time from the beginning of the forced labor term until now, and gave me back my wages and all the compensation for the same period of time.

The year-long lawsuit made me further realize that besides personal cultivation, truth-clarification is also very important. Through truth-clarification, many people gain a very deep understanding of Dafa. Some speak up for Dafa, which lays a very good foundation for their future. My experience also shows that all the tricks the evil uses for this persecution is merely it being afraid of being exposed. During the court sessions in all three phases, my company dared not mention the various wrongful things they had done to me. Therefore, no matter what reasons are used to persecute Dafa disciples, they are afraid of being exposed and are useless in the eyes of the law.

I hope Dafa disciples who experienced a similar persecution as mine will think about it and break through the constraints forced on us by the evil forces - don't acknowledge it at all. A lawsuit is a good approach to get in touch with people and clarify the truth. Let more people know the truth. Together let us break through the persecution by the evil forces and all their arrangements.

2. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Peng Geng, Force-Fed for Staging a Hunger Strike, Frequently Vomits Blood

Falun Dafa practitioner Peng Geng from Panjin City is now being held at Fushun City Prison. Since November 2002 when Shenyang City's Police Department personnel first arrested Peng Geng, he has been on a hunger strike and is suffering inhumane force-feeding. Peng Geng frequently vomits blood.

Peng Geng used to be an officer in Shenyang City's Police Department. In 2002, personnel from that police department arrested and sued him. Peng Geng's lawyer defended him during a court hearing and proved Peng Geng's innocence: practicing Falun Dafa does not constitute guilt and is instead a very wonderful thing. The judge was speechless when he heard the lawyer's vindication of his client. Everyone who attended the hearing knew that Peng Geng was innocent. Everybody knew the police faked all the so-called "evidence" and had framed Peng Geng.

3. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yuling in Poor Health After Being Held and Tortured for Over Two Years

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Yuling from Dongfeng County, 48 years old, was arrested in August 2002 and placed in detention. During her detention she has been on a hunger strike and has used other means to resist the persecution. Later she was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. She was very healthy before she was arrested, had a reddish complexion, appeared very young, and weighed around 144 pounds. After enduring all kinds of excruciating tortures for over two years, when someone met her in the Police Hospital in early 2004 she weighed only about 88 pounds.

4. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wang Dawu Covertly Sentenced to Ten Years of Imprisonment

On November 12, 2004, Mr. Wang Dawu from Hangzhou City was given notice that he had been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. The authorities, however, didn't go through any legal procedures this time, so it is an illegal sentence. Wang Dawu's family members didn't know anything about this, either. Wang Dawu, currently held at a detention center, has appealed to the court.

Practitioner Zhu Liming from Jinhua District was recently sentenced to a four-year prison term.

5. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Sufang Arrested Again; Her Ribs Fractured from Beatings

Ms. Zhang Sufang, 60 years old, is a resident of Chengguan Town, Huaiyang County, Zhoukou City. In 2001 she was held at Huaiyang County's Detention Center, where she staged a hunger strike and was brutally force-fed. After her release she was arrested again when she went to distribute Dafa truth-clarifying materials in Fuyang City, Anhui Province. Later she was sent to Fuyang City's Detention Center and was tortured so badly that her body was covered with bruises. With the power of her righteous thoughts, she walked out of the detention center after staging a hunger strike.

At around 10:00 p.m. on October 2, 2004, more than ten people from Huaiyang County's 610 Office, from the National Security Team, and from the Xiguan Police Station in Huaiyang County broke into Zhang Sufang's home without a warrant. They confiscated some Falun Dafa materials and 246 yuan in cash. They then arrested Zhang Sufang and took her to Huaiyang County's Police Department. 154 People Declare that their Words and Deeds Under Forced Brainwashing are Null and Void

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Here are some examples of the Solemn Declarations:
