Breathing a "Breath of Fresh Air" Into the Educational System - A Minghui School Opens in Central Taiwan (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Even after ten years of educational reforms in Taiwan, there is still much criticism and analysis from many circles. Thus, the Minghui Schools that a group of Falun Gong practitioners have been quietly working on and developing across Taiwan have received wide praise. Following Taipei, Tainan, Kaoxiung, and other places in Taiwan, a Minghui School opened in Central Taiwan on January 3, 2004. Falun Gong staff the schools and offer free courses.

Several Falun Gong practitioners in central Taiwan work in the educational system. They are university professors, primary school principals and teachers and kindergarten teachers. Together with parents who are concerned for their children's character and their education, they decided to set up a Minghui School in order to teach students to take "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" as their standard, to value virtue and do good deeds to improve their moral character. The school also aims to promote traditional Chinese culture. The courses offered in the school include reading, arts, history and human culture, music, science and preservation of health. They will educate students in a free and healthy environment, and help them to develop a noble character. The course also includes simple and effective Falun Gong exercises to increase students' wisdom and strength, and to have a peaceful state of mind. Minghui School provide a pure environment for students to purify themselves after receiving their daily compulsory education.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Mayor of Taizhong City was invited to give a speech. Representatives of the teachers shared their teaching experiences. Young Dafa practitioners also gave a series of performances on the stage. The audience was so interested that they were reluctant to leave after the conclusion of the activity. Reporters from a famous TV station in Taiwan attended the ceremony and took photos until the activity concluded. They plan to make a special report on it.
