Chen Jianning's Family

Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Jianning was a resident of Zhangguantian Village, Shidu Township, Wuning County, Jiangxi Province. He learned Falun Dafa in 1996 and volunteered to be an instructor to teach Falun Dafa exercises. He spent lots of his spare time studying and promoting Falun Dafa. The number of practice sites increased from only one in his village to over ten sites around several townships. He taught new practitioners exercises. He read the main text of Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun, to the practitioners who could not read. He also sent books to practitioners who couldn't afford to buy books. When he set up the first practice site, he provided a new cassette player, given to him as a wedding gift. He often led other practitioners to spread Falun Dafa to other villages, townships, towns and counties. He disciplined himself well and treated others with kindness. He solidly cultivated Falun Dafa according to the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance". He was well respected and became the assistant for the Jiujiang area practice site. At the same time, other local Falun Gong practitioners' words and actions also affected the residents. Fewer and fewer fights happened in the village. The whole village's spiritual well being greatly improved. Cheng Jianning was elected to be one of the leaders in the village.

However, after July 20, 1999, this young man who was loved by local practitioners and residents was arrested, tortured and fined by the township police substation as well as the county police department many times. He was eventually beaten to death.

He intended to appeal in Beijing in March 2000, but he was arrested and detained in the county police department illegally for several months. He suffered all sorts of torture and was finally released after they extorted 5,000 Yuan from him. [500 Yuan is the average monthly salary of an urban worker in China.]

Chen Jianning had not completely recovered from the torture when he was arrested again during the Spring Festival of 2001. He was taken to the county police department again and beaten very badly. His family borrowed 4,000 Yuan and begged the police station to let him go. Four months after he was released, he was still unable to work in the fields.

In that year his family had a bumper harvest of grapes. The county government sent cameramen to tape him and make up a story that he became rich from studying some scientific techniques after giving up Falun Gong. Chen Jianning firmly refused to cooperate with them once he knew their intention.

On March 4, 2002, the township police substation arrested him again and beat him up. When he fell unconscious from the beatings, the police poured cold water on him. After the kind-hearted head of the village found out what happened, he spent 3,000 Yuan to have the police release Chen. As a result of the brutal treatment, Chen Jianning was as thin as a rail.

On August 28, 2002, the township sent a policeman named Dong to take him and his wife away. Tang Meifen, his wife, was also a Falun Dafa practitioner. The policeman did not care about the 7-year-old boy that was left at home alone.

In the township police substation, Dong inhumanly tortured Chen Jianning. When they took Chen Jianning to the County Police Station, all the people in the police car witnessed Chen Jianning's bruises. They were all over his body. He was breathing feebly.

In the county police station, the malicious police continued to torture Chen Jianning. When Chen Jianning refused to give up his belief, he was beaten to death.

In order to cover up the facts of the murder, the police threw Chen Jianning off the 6^th floor of the county police department. They wanted people to think that Chen jumped off the building. Afterwards, they changed Chen Jianning's bloody clothes. At that time Chen Jianning had 3,400 Yuan with him. Soon afterwards the police sent him to a funeral parlor for cremation.

At the same time, the police in the township police substation were also torturing Chen's wife, Tang Meifen. Five hours after Chen Jianning's body was cremated, Tang Meifen was released. She didn't find out until later that her husband was murdered.

The police department didn't punish policeman Dong, but instead transferred him from the Shidu Township Police Substation to the Chuanwei Township Police Substation.

Such a good young man, who was often praised by the people in his hometown, was murdered just for believing in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." This is another example of the Jiang regime's bloody persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Following the death of female Dafa practitioner Fan Lihong in January 2002 as a result of persecution, another death has now been verified in Qinghai Province. In December 2002, Ms. Tan Yingchun was also tortured to death at the Women's Labor Camp in Qinghai Province.

Ms. Tan Yingchun was a 46-year-old biology teacher at the Kunlun Middle School (also known as the Sixth Middle School) in Xining City, Qinghai Province. In 2000, she was illegally sentenced to 1 year forced labor education and incarcerated at the Women's Labor Camp in Duoba Town, Huangzhong County, Qinghai Province. Around April and May in 2001, she went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and was arrested and held at a detention center in Tianjin City, where she was subjected to brutal torture. She was once stripped of all her clothes and tied to a metal bed [commonly known as the "death bed"]. The police then heaped ice cubes on her body, forcing her to disclose her name and address. Around July and August of 2001, she was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor education and sent back to Qinghai to be detained at the Women's Labor Camp in Xiashilipu Town, Xining City, Qinghai Province. During her detention, she was locked up in an isolated cell, with over 30 collaborators (former practitioners who have turned against Dafa under pressure) from other provinces surrounding her everyday, attempting to brainwash her. Ms. Tan firmly resisted the evil, kept on practicing Dafa exercises, and refused to give up her belief in Dafa. Infuriated, the police and collaborators tortured her brutally. In December 2002, Ms. Tan was tortured to death.

To cover up their crimes, the police claimed that Ms. Tan had committed suicide and they fabricated a series of lies. To deceive the public, the Kunlun Middle School held a funeral for Ms. Tan, claiming that she had died of natural causes. After Ms. Tan had passed away, the police in their callous disregard, attempted to force the other illegally detained practitioners to sing to Ms. Tan's deceased body. The practitioners firmly refused.

We hereby give stern warnings to the people at the 610 Office, the police and collaborators: every crime you commit against Dafa and Dafa disciples is being recorded. You will receive just punishments. Kindhearted people will soon witness the principle that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil.

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Meng Guiying, female, 39, from Manzhouli City, Inner Mongolia was tortured to death on January 24, 2003. She passed away from lung infections resulting from brutal force-feeding by the city police officers.

In June 2002, Meng Guiying was kidnapped by police from the Manzhouli City Police Department and illegally detained for a long time, during which she was not allowed family visits. The police used all kinds of base means to force her to give up Falun Dafa cultivation. During her several months of detention, Meng Guiying firmly resisted the persecution and refused to give up "Truthfulness-Compassion- Tolerance." She also protested the illegal persecution with a hunger strike and continuously clarified the truth with great compassion and tolerance. The police force-fed her, and the feeding tube ruptured her lung, causing a lung infection. Meng Guiying was on the verge of death.

In order to escape responsibility, the police asked Meng Guiying's family to pick her up after extorting 5,000 Yuan from them. By this time, Guiying was dying and had difficulty breathing. She could not lie down and had to sit up. She was immediately sent to the city hospital but the physician determined that there was no hope of saving her . On January 23, 2003, the third day of her hospital stay, Meng Guiying passed away at around 6:00 a.m.

The details await further investigation. We call for the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong to pursue the criminals involved in this murder and expose their crimes before the world.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa Information Center February 26^th Report: According to news sources in Jiangxi Province, Falun Gong practitioner Lan Hu from Jiujiang City was tortured to death on February 9^th, 2003 in Nanchang City Jail following a 68-day detention. A jail official revealed that Lan Hu wrote an appeal letter before his death in which he "accused the top person in the government."

It was learned that the 30-year-old Lan Hu was a civil servant in the Pricing Bureau, Lushan District. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1994. After the Party began persecuting Falun Gong, Lan Hu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in late December 1999. Police arrested him and sent him to the Jiujiang City Detention Center. He was subsequently sentenced to three years of forced labor in March 2000 and was brutally tortured during his detention. In April 2001, Lan Hu was released early. When he returned home, he found out he was deceived in the labor camp. He wrote letters to the City Political and Law Committee authorities and the labor camp, saying that his true intention was to persist in practicing Falun Gong. In order to avoid arrest, Lan Hu left home. Lan Hu was on a "wanted by police" list posted online.

The news source revealed that on October 2, 2001, Lan Hu was arrested when distributing truth clarification flyers in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province. He held three hunger strikes during his 100-day detention. In January 2002, Lan Hu was taken back to Lushan District Police Department, where he was handcuffed and shackled for five days and nights, for a total of 120 hours.

After being detained for nearly one year at Jiujiang City Detention Center, Lan Hu was illegally sentenced to 11 years in jail by Lushan District Court. On December 3, 2002, Lan Hu was sent to Nanchang City Jail. After only 68 days, Nanchang City Jail officials notified Lan Hu's family of his death.

The news source also revealed that the autopsy report from the People's Prosecuting Authorities in Changlin District admitted Lan Hu began a hunger strike on February 6 and died on February 9, yet it insists that Lan Hu "died of respiratory and circulatory collapse due to poor health." It was learned that Lan Hu's family expressed strong doubt at the conclusion that Lan Hu died from a four-day hunger strike.

The news also said the jail official claims Lan Hu wrote an appeal letter in which he "accused the top person in the government." Lan Hu's mother asked to see this letter but the jail official refused.

An official from Changlin District People's Prosecuting Office refused to provide answers to the question, "Why did Lan Hu suffer circulatory and respiratory function failure after only four days on a hunger strike?" He said, "Ask the jail."

According to statistics from a verifiable source, at least 11 Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death in Jiangxi Province. One of them, Hu Qingyun, former division head of the Jiangxi Provincial High Court was tortured to death in Jiangxi Prison on March 22, 2001.

After the Chinese government began persecuting Falun Gong, Hu Qingyun wrote to national leaders several times to appeal for Falun Gong. Because of his letters, the governmental officials had him arrested twice, in July and October 1999. Hu was sentenced to seven years in jail by a district court in Nanchang City on January 10, 2001. AP, Reuters, Central News Agency and other mainstream media reported this incident.

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhao Baolan, female, 63 years old, lived in the Transportation Vehicles Repair Factory of the Eighth Sub-factory in Dongying City. She was illegally detained at Hekou District Detention Center of Dongying City for over 2 months after she went to Beijing to appeal on October 1, 2001. She was not allowed to have warm clothing in the winter, and her family members were denied the right to see her and bring her some clothing. They were told that there was no such a person named Zhao Baolan there. Later Zhao's whole body became swollen and infected as a result of injuries sustained from the beatings she received. Afraid to take responsibility, the detention center sent her home. Soon afterwards, she passed away.

Ottawa -- On February 27, Falun Gong representatives and Member of Parliament, Mr. Rob Anders, jointly held a press conference on the Hill, expressing serious concern and disappointment over the twisted outcome of last week's Canada-China bilateral human rights dialogue. China's Religious Delegation abused the venue and intentionally spread hatred and further harmed Falun Gong; which is an internationally established spiritual practice.

Last Thursday, February 20 at the end of their 5-day trip, the delegation perpetrated an inappropriate action and used a press conference, targeting and attacking Falun Gong practitioners, advancing its persecution onto Canadian soil.

Anders said: "I am very upset that the Chinese propaganda (was) brought over from China to spread against Falun Dafa, not only against Chinese practitioners, but against practitioners in Canada. It is particularly astonishing that this is done under the guise of a Human Rights visit, using the people who are purportedly religious to go ahead and spread that type of propaganda and mistruth... I think it's incredible and unfortunate."

He continued "I think our government ought to send a clear message to the PRC that we will not tolerate, and condone any human rights abuses that's going on there... that our government, will do everything we can to make sure that we certainly protect the freedoms that we cherish here, and hold the People's Republic of China accountable for those types of actions here, and not allow them to go with our sanction or condonation."

"We urge our government to look into this matter and protest to their Chinese counterpart", said Ginette D'Aoust-Castonguay, an Ottawa Falun Gong practitioner. She continued; "the accusations, made by the delegation; that they have been threatened and interfered with by Falun Gong practitioners, during their visit, is false and totally groundless. Our intention was to relay the message that 'the persecution is wrong and it has to be stopped'. This was attempted in a lawful, peaceful and rational manner. Practitioners in China have been arrested and sent to jail for saying/doing the exact same thing". "As Canadians we do not need to conform to Chinese regime's standard or request with this regard."

Mr. Zhixiong Li, the founder of the Committee for Investigation on Persecution of Religion in China (http://religiousfreedomforchina.org/English/contactus.htm), stated "this so-called China's Religious Delegation Officials have been the 'religious politicians' utilized as 'weapons' of the regime's religious persecution to paint a rosy picture of religious freedom in China." The key members have been actively outspoken in China and abroad, spreading hate and justifying China's persecution toward Falun Gong and persecuted religious groups.

Thank you so much for taking the time to enact the precious movements of teaching, listening, and initiating change. It is so comforting to know that there is a community of conscientious people working for awareness, justice, and the dignity of all.

I would first like to say that I am by no means an authority on Falun Dafa, but rather I am the product of awareness demonstrations like this one. Less than a year ago I had never heard of Falun Gong or Falun Dafa, although I have always been deeply invested in human rights. Last year, I was walking the streets of Chicago when I came upon an exercise demonstration of about a hundred men, women, and children. It seemed so beautiful and powerful to me to see a community of people, whose abundant inner richness and peace was overflowing, bringing their spirituality into the street- especially when it is so often compartmentalized in our modern, American life. There were no petitions or posters or donations wanted, just a sign that said "www.faluninfo.net". I began researching Falun Dafa and was shocked and horrified to learn that this mediation practice I observed, that appeared to be infused with power, and rich peace, was the target of countless injustices. I read the fact sheets and the articles-- that more than three hundred practitioners, five hundred now, have been confirmed dead, the forced labor camps, the brutality against imprisoned women, and stories about people who have wrongly been committed to mental institutions for practicing Falun Dafa, and about families devastated by the effects of this unwarranted persecution.

And, simply, I knew that it was wrong. And I was overwhelmed by once again confronting a world in which systematic, state sanctioned murder and violence occur with religion as its motivation, and I was not surprised that religion was once again merely a pretense for greed, power-hungriness, and political totalitarianism to run rampant.

I was forced to question the effect the persecution of the Falun Gong had on me. At first, one might ask what effect the abuse of a religious people in China, thousands of miles away from me, here, as a student in Colorado Springs had, but I found that it had a profound consequence. I found that by denying other people's rights, or accepting them with silence, I denied myself freedom, and dignity. I, in fact, relinquished my rights to justice and freedom if I resigned myself to apathy, concluding that the struggle of others was not "of significance" to me.

Indeed, it is of deciding importance because the question then becomes markedly clear--what is of real value if not justice, goodwill, and human dignity? Am I, are we, supposed to entertain ourselves with tokens of comfort and happiness when it is plainly clear that what afflicts of a group of people, here and now the Falun Gong, is continuously at work in our world.

And if anyone has the duty to confront criminal acts, seeded in prejudice, intolerance, and manifested through reckless and negligent political clout--it is us, here in the United States because of the relative freedoms and comforts we enjoy which should make us sympathetic to those without basic freedoms rather than alienate us.

And so I challenge the United States government, beginning with our representatives here in Denver, to continue, renew and intensify their support for human and religious rights of the Falun Gong by demanding that the Chinese government immediately end the detainment, murder, and violence faced by thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners, beginning with returning Charles Li to his family. As I continue to do my small part by writing letters, petitioning, organizing, and voicing my ardent dissent to the violation of all human rights.

Good morning! My name is Chris Lam. I am the president of the Friends of Falun Gong student organization at the University of Colorado in Denver. Our student organization was established in the Fall of 2002 with the goal of assisting our parent organization, Friends of Falun Gong USA, in supporting the freedom of belief of persons who practice Falun Gong. Since the establishment of our student organization, we have received a great deal of support from hundreds of students and staff at the Auraria campus. We have been actively raising awareness of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong through postcard campaigns, posting and handing out flyers, and organizing a public rally to protest the actions of Chinese leader Jiang Zemin last October. In addition, we have sponsored the Falun Dafa photo exhibition that is taking place this afternoon and on Thursday at the Tivoli building.

Our latest rescue campaign concerns the recent arrest and potential sentencing of Dr. Charles Li, a U.S. citizen who was detained after arriving at the Guangzhou Airport on January 22, 2003.

Because of China's grave record of human rights abuses, particularly with regard to Falun Gong practitioners, we have reason to believe that Dr. Li is in danger of torture or worse, and we ask that our government intervene immediately on his behalf. It is absolutely unacceptable for a person to be arrested simply for his personal beliefs.

We call out to all Americans, especially the Colorado government officials, to please act quickly to help bring Dr. Li back to the U.S. safely.

If we the public and the government stand together and continue to express our concern for the Falun Gong issue and continue to put pressure on Chinese authorities, the persecution will soon end. As an American college student, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to establish a student organization to support those who have had their most basic human rights taken away from them just for wanting to improve their health and for seeking to live by the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.

Falun Gong practitioners in China, we students will not stop our efforts until you regain your freedom.

(Clearwisdom.net) The San Francisco City Hall Board Meeting was held on Tuesday, February 25, 2003. Two practitioners spoke at the board meeting, during which a letter was circulated among supervisors for signatures. All but one of those present signed the form to call for Charles' rescue.

Charles' fiancée Yeong Ching Foo spoke first, followed by a western practitioner. They both expressed their outrage at how the Chinese government is treating Charles and not allowing his fiancée to talk to him or see him.

We, the California elected government officials, are calling for the immediate release of Charles Li -- an American citizen and Menlo Park, CA resident detained in China. We understand that Dr. Charles Li was arrested at the Guangzhou airport in China on January 22, 2003, when he went to China to spend the Lunar Chinese New Year with his parents. China is punishing Charles because he practices Falun Gong, a peaceful meditation practice that China relentlessly persecuted -- and also because he has been actively helping in stopping this persecution. We do not want to see an American citizen punished for his belief. We respectfully ask you to urge China with any means to immediately release Charles Li as well as other prisoners of conscience unconditionally.

Thank you for your letter regarding the case of Charles Li. The United States government shares your concern about the arrest of Charles Li in China. In October 2001, the Department of State designated China a country of particular concern under the International Religious Freedom Act for extremely severe violations of religious freedom, including its treatment of Falun Gong.

The Department of State, U.S. officials in Beijing, and the Consulates General in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenyang consistently urge the central and local authorities to respect the citizens' rights to religious freedom. U.S. officials in Washington and Beijing have continued to protest individual cases of abuse. On many occasions, the Department of State protested government actions to curb freedom of religion, including the arrests of Falun Gong followers.

In the continuing effort to encourage religious freedom throughout China, the U.S. Embassy welcomes information about abuses of religious freedoms, such as the case of Charles Li. I will forward this information to the relevant officials in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labour in the Department of State in Washington D.C.

(Clearwisdom.net) The California car tour group for rescuing Charles Li arrived at the cities of Chico and Redding on February 28, 2003. In Chico, the group held a press conference. Ms. Yeong Ching Foo made a speech to appeal to the American people and government to give a hand to rescue Charles Li, a U.S. citizen.

Many local media paid special attention to the car tour. The local radio station made an earlier report of the group's coming and came to cover the event. During the press conference, five local media outlets including TV stations and newspapers came to cover the event. Many local residents came to the press conference after hearing the earlier report on the group's arrival.

One lady said, "The Chinese government has detained Charles Li for no reason and opposes Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. This is because the regime has committed too many evil activities."

Wherever we have gone, people have responded warmly. One local said to us, "Thank you for coming from far away to tell us this information to rescue Charles Li. You are doing the right thing. Victory will be yours if you persist in your efforts!"

(Clearwisdom.net) Today, the four of us set off on our three-day "Canada, Let's Keep Up Our Efforts!" car tour journey. Along the route, we passed by cities and towns including Parry Sound, North Bay, Sudbury, and Timmins. Ours is the northern route of the car tour. We first arrived in Parry Sound, 235 kilometers north of Toronto. We then drove two hours to reach North Bay. In both cities, we met the Mayors, Members of Provincial Parliament, legislative assistants for Members of Parliament, and the media. We asked them to encourage the Canadian government to sponsor a resolution at the upcoming UNCHR in Geneva to condemn the Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong. We received great support.

What impressed us the most was our visit to North Bay. Although we did not have an appointment with the Mayor, Mr. Jack Burrows, he still personally received us and chatted with us for 45 minutes. Mayor Burrows had never heard of the persecution of Falun Gong before. When he learned about it, he expressed his deep concern that the practitioners in China still suffer persecution. He suggested that we visit the local MP and said that he would contact the MP the next day and see what he could do to better support us.

At the gate of the City Hall, we ran into Arnie Hakala, a reporter from a major local newspaper who heard the news and came over to meet us. When he learned that we were hurrying up to visit the MP and other provincial assemblymen, he warm-heartedly said, "I'll take you there." We were a little surprised and deeply moved. In the cold weather, with temperatures as low as minus 20 Celsius, we encountered such a warm-hearted reporter. Perhaps this was predestined.

After we delivered the truth-clarifying materials, Arnie took us to his office, where we chatted for more than an hour. Arnie told us that he had so many questions that two or three days might not be adequate for him to ask us. So he asked us to start from the very beginning. We spoke of how Falun Dafa has flourished around the world, and introduced the persecution and the support we have received from international society and world governments. He carefully recorded all of these. Arnie told us with regret that because of the required limited length for his article, he would not be able to write all he had recorded, but he truly wanted to learn more about Dafa. So he started chatting with Mrs. Wang. The Canadian government's rescue efforts helped her husband and son to receive early release from their illegal sentences in forced labor camps. Mrs. Wang said sadly, "I had a happy family, but now my family is torn apart by the Jiang regime's persecution. They deprived us of our freedom to believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." When Arnie asked how Mrs. Wang felt in her heart, Mrs. Wang felt so sad that she shed tears. She said, "Whenever I practice the exercises, I think of my husband and son. In China, they don't even have the right to freely practice the exercises." At that point, all in attendance were moved to tears.

Arnie told us that his family was from Finland. Previously Finland was also influenced by the Soviet government. His grandmother's family believed the Party, while his grandfather's family did not. Three days before his grandmother passed away, her family members found a copy of the Bible under her pillow. Arnie sighed and said, in fact, people are still longing for God in their hearts.

He expressed that he is willing to collect signatures for the petition. Before we left, he carefully drew a map for us and gave us direction to the next city. He also told us again and again to be careful. In the end, he said to us sincerely, "I will use my way to pray for you and bless you."

While writing, we could not help but remember a touching story from our journey. Our fellow practitioners set up display boards at a city hall and waited for the media to arrive. A passerby stopped and stood in the cold wind and snow, and carefully read the content of the posters. He asked many questions. When he heard that the old lady whose photo displayed on the poster was sentenced to four years in jail in China simply because she practices Falun Gong, he asked us if there was a petition that he could sign. After he signed the petition letter, he said, "Please wait for a moment, I'll ask my friends in the car to sign it as well!" Looking at him running back and forth in the wind and snow and his frozen hands, we were deeply moved and truly happy for his kindness.

We, Falun Gong practitioners in the UK, would like to appeal for help from all the kind-hearted people of the world to stop a tragedy befalling a pregnant woman.

In China, thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are facing incarceration, torture, or even murder, from a regime led by Jiang Zemin. Deaths by torture are counted as suicides and 'no measures are too excessive'. This has led to police shooting directly at practitioners; pregnant women forced to have later term abortions; a 7-month-old baby tortured to death alongside his mother; the most horrific tortures and systematic persecution known to the world used to force practitioners to give up Falun Gong.

Now, a Falun Gong practitioner -- Ms. Lili Lin, aged 28 and 6 weeks pregnant, is facing the prospect of possible arrest, torture and death at the hands of Jiang's criminal group. She is now detained at Manchester Airport and waiting for deportation to China scheduled for March 7, 2003. A clerical mistake from the Home Office had caused the failure of her two appeals and the refusal of her asylum application before the deadline. The refusal letter was sent to her previous address, although Ms. Lin had notified the Home Office about the change in her address when she moved from Manchester to Liverpool in November 2001.

Lili is an active Falun Gong practitioner in the UK and helps her husband run a free Falun Gong exercise class in Liverpool. Her husband's name appears on Falun Gong leaflets and on websites as the contact person in Liverpool. She frequently goes to the Chinese consulate in Manchester and the Chinese Embassy in London to appeal against the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. Lili's life and that of her unborn child will be seriously endangered if she is deported to China.

It is certain that the Chinese Government knows about Lili and Jinfei's involvement with Falun Gong, and it is unbearable to think what might be waiting for Lili and her unborn child if she is deported back to the hands of the persecutors.

I am writing on behalf of Lili Lin who is at this moment detained at Manchester airport for deportation to China. Her life will be in immediate danger the moment she steps on Chinese soil.

If we look back in history, during World War II, the UK would never have returned Jews to German occupied countries, regardless of whether more or fewer Jews had been killed in the area the refugee was from. Moreover, Lili is sixty days pregnant. It would be extremely dangerous for her and her unborn child to be sent back to a hostile environment where she could be detained and tortured at any moment, especially as China is known to use late-term abortions to force female Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs.

Lili Lin, 28, applied for asylum in Manchester in October 2001 on grounds of being a practitioner of Falun Gong. Then she moved from Manchester to Liverpool to live with her husband, Jinfei Zhang, a PhD student at Liverpool University.

She informed the Home Office of her change of address and has been reporting to the Home Office in Liverpool regularly.

At 3pm, 26th February 2003, as usual, Lili reported at the Home Office in Liverpool. Without warning an immigration officer announced that she was to be deported immediately. She asked to see her husband, but was refused. Four policemen came up, pressed her down to the floor, and dragged her into a room, where she was locked until 8.30pm. She was not given any food or water when she was locked in there. They then sent her to a deportation centre in Manchester.

There must be a misunderstanding somewhere. Lili is not a criminal. Neither is she attempting to hide herself from the immigration authorities.

We urge you to look into the matter immediately. Sending Lili back to China would a deadly mistake. The Chinese Government's persecution of Falun Gong is well known. Hundreds of practitioners have been killed and thousands of practitioners are in 'Re-education Camps'. There is no doubt that the Chinese Government knows this family's involvement with Falun Gong. Failure to protect this family will result in a tragedy, which the British Government and public will be sure to regret.

The European Falun Dafa Association has verified details of 580 deaths since the persecution of Falun Gong in China began in 1999. Government officials inside China, however, report that the actual death toll is well over 1,600, while expert sources estimate that figure to be much higher. Hundreds of thousands have been detained, with more than 100,000 being sentenced to forced labour camps, typically without trial.

Greetings to you. This is an overseas letter being faxed to every unit and family in Wuhan.

Ms. Lin Wenrong, 35, graduated from the Academy of Music in Wuhan and came to Germany to continue her studies in 2002. During the Spring Festival she went back to Wuhan to visit her family and relatives. Originally she planned to come back to Germany, but up until now she has not returned. Based on information provided by people who know about her recent situation, the police arrested and detained her just before the Spring Festival upon her arrival in Wuhan. Currently, no one knows her whereabouts. The reason for her detention is that she is a Falun Gong practitioner.

Information received has reported that the Political-legal Committee of Wuhan City and the Public Security Bureau released an official document that ordered police to register the names of all Falun Gong practitioners in Wuhan City and have them write a "repentance letter." If the practitioners refused to sign the letter, they would be sent to a forced brainwashing class. Lin Wenrong was detained because of this recent document.

As Lin's friends in Germany, we have launched an emergency rescue effort and reported Lin's detention to the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related international human rights organizations.

As far as we know, Lin's arrest and the current persecution of Falun Gong in Wuhan City has so many victims involved and causes so much serious damage that the city government is suspected of committing genocide. Consequently, Falun Gong practitioners have submitted a lawsuit to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, calling on this organization to conduct an investigation into those involved in the crime and to seek a remedy in a court of law.

The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong was established on January 20, 2003. This organization will systematically investigate the persecution of Falun Gong as well as related organizations, groups and individuals. The World Organization will conduct an investigation into the following: Chinese dictator Jiang, the 610 Office which was created by Jiang specifically to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, the National Security Bureau, the Ministry of State Security, the courts, psychiatric hospitals, the media which slander Falun Gong, those directly or indirectly inflicting physical, mental or economic persecution on Falun Gong practitioners and their families. Based on concrete evidence, the World Organization will send the criminals to trial, punish the evildoers and alert the world to the ongoing holocaust.

Since its establishment, the World Organization started to investigate the overseas property holdings of the evildoers and their families. The outcome of the investigation will be announced. Besides, based on the customary international law that dealt with Nazi war criminals, the sources of their property will be investigated and the assets will be frozen or even confiscated for reasons of compensation.

On October 18, 2002, all the persecuted practitioners and their relatives submitted a lawsuit to the United States District Court against Jiang, who stands accused of committing genocide. The Plaintiffs' attorney served Jiang with a summons on October 22 while he was in Chicago, during his visit to the U.S. On January 13, 2003, the plaintiffs' attorney met the judge for the initial scheduling conference on Jiang's default. The court has planned the second scheduling conference for March 13.

Falun Gong practitioners have also filed a lawsuit against another nine Chinese officials, including Zeng Qinghong, Luo Gan and Li Lanqing. Among them, Chao Chihfei, Hupei Provincial Police Department Supervisor, committed human rights abuses rising to the level of violations against International Law, such as torture and crimes against humanity. Chao Chihfei was charged with persecuting to death a Falun Gong practitioner in Hupei, Peng Min, and also his mother. On December 21, 2001, the judge in the United States District Court found him guilty as charged on Chao's default and Chao has been ordered to pay US $50,000,000. In July, 2001, during his visit to New York, Chao was served with a summons. The next day, Chao hurried back to China by airplane and had never entered the United States since then. The information on the prosecution against Jiang and other Chinese officials is being withheld from the Chinese population.

Since July 1999, some of the Chinese authorities have subjected Falun Gong practitioners to brutal persecution out of jealousy and desire for personal fame and gain. In the past three years, over 1,000 people have been beaten to death, over 100,000 have been sent to prisons, labor camps and psychiatric hospitals, and hundreds of people have been deprived of the basic right to live a normal life.

Falun Gong has spread to over 60 countries around the world and earned over 800 awards.

The International Education Development Authority made the following official statement: "The Self-immolation in Tiananmen Square was staged by the Chinese government." In the video deconstruction of the CCTV "coverage" of the event, it appears that Liu Chunling collapsed not from the flames but from being bludgeoned by a man in a military overcoat. The plastic bottle between the legs of the man setting himself ablaze appeared to have not melted. More amazingly, the 12-year-old Liu Siying, who was severely burned, was able sing a song in her interview after doctors performed a tracheotomy, but a pediatric surgeon said that, if that were true, the child wouldn't be capable of speaking let alone singing. All of these only serve to illustrate that the so-called "Self-immolation" was staged to discredit Falun Gong. The authorities have resorted to tried and tested Communist methods, such as slander, forgery, and deceitful.

We are calling on all kind people with a sense of justice to offer the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong information related to suspected criminals, such as their names or photos. (Clearwisdom.net) I am an ordinary farmer woman. In the middle of September 2001, I heard that people from the local police station and the town government broke into Dafa practitioners' homes to arrest them without a warrant. Two female practitioners were brutally beaten for not cooperating with the evil. One 18-year-old practitioner's nose bled from the beating, and she urinated blood for several days afterwards.

At that time I understood that persecution against any Dafa practitioner was persecuting Dafa. I therefore went to the town government office to tell them the facts about Dafa, requesting them to release the detained fellow practitioners and to stop persecuting the two young female practitioners. They immediately called in over a dozen young men to brutally beat me. I shouted, "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa. Dafa teaches people to be kind and moral. Don't be deceived by the lies." They beat and kicked me, and hit me mercilessly with their knees and elbows for over ten minutes. After that, my whole body was swollen and painful, and I urinated blood for several days.

I kept telling them the facts, even after they beat me. Township Party Secretary Li yelled, "If you continued to defend Falun Gong, we will beat you some more." I said, "Is it the government's job to persecute good people?"

They cuffed my hands and forcibly took photographs of me. I refused to cooperate. They sent me to a detention center for a 15-day detention. On the way to the detention center I clarified the truth to the driver who had earlier beaten me mercilessly. That driver scolded me in return, but I told him about the principle that good would be rewarded with good and evil would be punished with evil. He didn't believe me. Several days later, he suffered karmic retribution.

The local police station chief was disrespectful to Dafa and made malicious remarks against Dafa. He also suffered retribution later. One vicious police officer who had always brutally tortured practitioners was later killed by some criminals. The township head insulted Dafa, saying that he did not believe that good will be rewarded with good and evil punished with evil. Afterwards, someone stole his motorcycle, and he suffered a bullet wound in the leg from the incident.

After I was held in the detention center for 15 days, I was sent back to the township government and illegally imprisoned there for seven more days.

On the first evening back in the township government, several guards planned to sexually abuse us women practitioners. I detected their horrid intent in advance. At around midnight, when they opened our door, I immediately shouted, "What are you doing here?" They ended up sneaking out without doing anything. They also put a lot of pressure on us to brainwash us, compelling practitioners to read materials that slandered Dafa, and to write a "repentance statement" and "guarantee" to give up practicing. We firmly resisted the persecution. Because we refused to cooperate, they threatened us and stopped giving us food for two days in order to force us to write the statements. Later, we went on a hunger strike for three days. During these days I recognized Teacher's hint and realized that we would leave here soon. The day the local police station chief asked us to leave, I clearly stated, "I will not leave here unless you promise you will not slander Dafa, and will not go to Dafa practitioners' homes in the future to arrest them." The village public security chief promised me that they would not do so anymore. That same day they released us.

(Clearwisdom.net) In May 2002, when I was planning to go to Beijing to validate Dafa, I met a 20-year-old young lady from a rural area. She had only recently obtained Dafa, but was determined to go to Beijing with me. She spent all her time studying the Fa before we left. She was well aware of the danger of going to Beijing: getting arrested and jailed, assessed huge fines, being beaten up etc. But she didn't seem to think about it at all; she just studied the Fa very calmly.

One practitioner suggested that we go to her relative's home on our way to Beijing because apparently there were many new practitioners there. She hoped that we would be able to share our experience and improve as a group.

On May 11, we arrived at the village and met with the new practitioners. Although they were quite new, they were all very steadfast and quite a few of them expressed a desire to go to Beijing to validate Dafa.

On May 12, the eight of them bought red and yellow fabric and made Dafa banners. Each took one and left in the afternoon. They planned to be at the Tiananmen Square on May 13, World Falun Dafa Day.

Because it was a very serious matter to go to validate Dafa, we pretty much did our things independently. I went with the young lady and told her, "You are new and as soon as you finish unfurling the banner, go home right away and don't wait for me." Around noon, a few practitioners stood around to practice the exercises somewhere in the Square. When the police rushed over to them, the two of us unfurled our banner and shouted "Falun Dafa is good" and walked west and then east so more people could see us. A few minutes later, the police snatched our banner. Then I heard "Dafa is good" from behind us. It turned out a few more practitioners had put up a banner with yellow background and red characters. The police went frantically to take the banner down. I helped to keep the banner from being snatched away. One policeman used clubs to hit practitioners' hands that were holding the banner. Soon, a group of policemen surrounded all of us and pushed us into the police van.

It was then that I realized that the young lady had not left after all. She was smiling at me. I also saw two practitioners from the village. They refused to cooperate with the evil and talked about their experience in a relaxed manner.

I was sentenced to a forced labor camp and subsequently released for medical reasons after a few months. I ran into the young lady again. She was carrying a huge bag full of Dafa truth-clarifying materials and CDs, and she was on her way to villages to distribute them. She went to several villages each day and has been doing that for quite a while.

(Clearwisdow.net) I was not a diligent practitioner and frequently stumbled on my cultivation path. I'm ashamed to say that, even though I actually felt Falun rotating and saw Master's Fashen when I first started practicing the exercises, I still doubted Dafa and Master.

It was only when a veteran practitioner told me something that happened in Wuhan that I relinquished my doubts of Master. I don't remember exactly which lecture it was, but one day when Master finished his teaching and stepped out of the auditorium, a practitioner followed him at a distance, curious to know where Master was going. He saw Master speed up and quickly cross the street, followed by a car. The vehicle stopped beside him and a few people got out. They asked Master to get in the car but He said a few words to them and declined. The car left. Master continued to walk and found a vendor selling steamed buns, and He bought a few for lunch. The following day, the practitioner happened to see those people in the car, and recognized them as being from the local Qigong Association. Master's lectures were usually sponsored by local Qigong Associations, which conventionally treat visiting Qigong masters to three meals each day, but Master rejected their offers. They said all Qigong masters accepted their invitation except Master Li, who did not follow this corrupt custom.

Today I write this story to encourage myself as well as fellow practitioners. Let's remember Master's hardships in introducing the Fa to the public, follow the Fa-Rectification course closely and not let Master down.

I also ask that all practitioners write down what they know about Master to let people know his greatness and benevolence. This can help expose the evil and also let more people respect Dafa and Master, thereby planting the cultivation seeds in their hearts. This can also let the future Dafa disciples know the Fa, allowing Dafa to pass steadily and unchanged to the next generation.

(Clearwisdom.net) China will hold the next People's National Congress in March 2003, where a change of power is to take place. Jiang is fearful about losing his power and that Dafa practitioners will step forward to clarify the truth. Jiang's mouthpiece, CCTV's "Focal Point" program, broadcasted another program to slander Dafa on the evening of February 16, 2003. Regarding this event, some Dafa practitioners in China have started to intensify their daily sending forth righteous thoughts to clear away the persecution, and at the same time call on more overseas practitioners to join them in frequently sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth through various channels.

Practitioners in China who have already joined the intensified sending forth righteous thoughts activities stressed that we should draw lessons learned during the 16^th Party Congress and follow what Master told us, "Just do everything a Dafa disciple should do, and everything will be covered." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference") We must remember to keep our righteous thoughts strong, and that it is sentient beings that are counting on us, not cultivators hoping for people to do something.

We call on all fellow practitioners who have not yet stepped forward to let go of their fears to fulfill their missions and with righteous thoughts carry out their sacred missions during the Fa-rectification.

(Clearwisdom.net) A Dafa practitioner from Wulanbai Township, Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province was riding a public bus. Seeing an older woman standing on the bus, she yielded her seat to the older woman. The woman thanked her, and the Dafa practitioner told her in a low voice, "Don't thank me, I practice Falun Gong. Our Master teaches us to be a good person wherever we go, and this is what I should do."

This occurrence was seen by a vicious person who specialized in persecuting Dafa practitioners. They found out this practitioner's name and address, and brought some people to arrest her. The practitioner took advantage of a chance to break away. The police station blocked main traffic intersections and went to her relatives' homes to search for her. They also hired the neighbors to monitor the home, forcing the practitioner to keep moving from place to place to avoid arrest.

Is it wrong to yield your seat to an old woman? Are you guilty when you strive to speak the truth and be a good person? We hope that more and more people will come to see the truth and help the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China find justice.

Peng Fangjian, male, 45 years of age, a resident of Renli Town, Suining City, Sichuan Province, had been illegally detained several times since July 20, 1999 when the persecution of Falun Gong began. It was not until late September in 2002 that Mr. Peng was released from Xinhua Farm (a labor camp) in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Yet, on January 28, 2003, Peng Fangjian was kidnapped by policeman Rao Jun from Renli Town Police Station and officers Yuan Xiaolin, Hu Zongcheng from the Renli Town "610 Office", and Zhang Kangping from the Town Legal Department. They took Mr. Peng to the Renli Town Police Station. During his detention, the Head of the police station, Duan Shoukun, asked his family to pay 50,000 Yuan in exchange for the release of Mr. Peng. Because his family could not afford to pay, after 3 days Mr. Peng was moved and jailed in the Lingquansi Detention Center. He refused to cooperate with the evil and went on a hunger strike to protest. On February 10, 2003, Peng Fangjian was tortured to death. (The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.)

On February 11, Mr. Peng's family was notified of his death and they were told that cremation would take place on the same day. When the family members rushed to the crematorium, they found that Mr. Peng's originally strong body, had deteriorated as a result of over 10 days of torture. Peng Fangjian's body was emaciated, his bones were covered only by skin, his eyes were open wide and his facial expressions showed a feeling of great pain. His mouth was widely open as well; his arms were outstretched and hands clenched into a fist; the back of his head revealed clotted blood. In order to cover up these facts, the legal medical experts forced an autopsy, where Mr. Peng's family noticed that there was a large amount of fluid in his intestines. The police fabricated a story that Peng Fangjian had died from a heart attack. They also did not reveal any of the necessary information such as the time, place and people involved with Mr. Peng's death. On February 12 at 5:00 in the morning, Peng Fangjian was hastily cremated. Thus, another person who tried to be good according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" was murdered by the Jiang regime.

The guilty can never escape Heaven's justice. We would like to give a stern warning to those who follow Jiang in this persecution of Dafa and Dafa practitioners: if you do not stop doing evil, you will soon receive severe punishments for your actions.

Zheng Libin, a 31-year-old male practitioner, lived in Jiamusi City of Heilongjiang Province. Currently he is being illegally detained in Tuanhe Labor Camp in Beijing. He is scheduled to be released on April 16, 2003. Zheng Libin is very determined to continue practicing Falun Dafa, but he is presently in a very dangerous situation and facing a new round of increasingly severe persecution.

In July 1999, Zheng Libin went to Beijing to validate Dafa and was arrested there. He was held until early 2000. At that time the detention center forced his family to pay several thousand Yuan in exchange for his release. This extortion put a tremendous economic burden on the already impoverished family. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.]

In June 2000, Zheng Libin was illegally arrested again and sent to the Jiamusi City Labor Camp. Practitioners there suffer all kinds of evil persecution including being fed goose food instead of human food. At the end of 2000, Zheng Libin and ten other practitioners walked out of the labor camp. Around February 20, 2001, a special police agent watched Zheng Libin, Zhou Genzheng, Zhong Yang and a handful of other practitioners during their Fa-study and experience-sharing in Beijing. A squad of police seized them, forcibly dragged them into police vehicles, covered their heads, took them secretly to the detention center of the police department and used the most brutal tortures to force these practitioners to name the organizer of the gathering. Police separated the practitioners into individual rooms and tied each of them to a chair for 24 hours. The detention center also summoned three special interrogators from Beijing Women's Labor Camp: Li Jing (director of the labor camp), Jiao Xuexian (female section leader), and one other whose name is unknown. Jiao Xuexian ordered some so-called "helpers" [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] to put leaflets slandering Dafa inside the practitioners' clothes to undermine the spirit and dignity of the practitioners. These three also forced practitioners to listen to derogatory speeches all day long; if practitioners did not listen, the three would beat them with books. Jiao Xuexian always used foul language when speaking to male practitioners. Every night, Li Jing got drunk and used his electric baton to attack practitioners. The screams of the practitioners could be heard all night long. These attacks continued for several nights. This brutal persecution pushed many practitioners, including Zheng Libin, to the brink of death.

In March of 2001, the police put Zheng Libin in the "small cell", which was solitary confinement in a very cramped space. He was fed only hardened bread with salted vegetables and was forced to sleep on the cold floor every night. They also ordered other inmates to monitor his activities. In April 2001, the police department sent him back to the seventh division of the Beijing Police Department, where the officials planned to falsely implicate Falun Gong in a murderer case. The police forcefully interrogated the practitioners, including Zheng Libin. At the end of 2001, Zheng Libin was illegally sentenced to one and a half years of labor camp at the notorious Tuanhe Labor Camp, where he was continuously subjected to torture and abuse. He was shocked so severely and frequently with electric batons that his heart was damaged. His family was deeply affected by his horrible plight; due to grief for her son, his mother suffered a mental breakdown.

Zheng Libin's jail term is due to be completed around April 16, 2003. Rather than releasing him, the Tuanhe Labor Camp plans to persecute him further to force him to give up his belief. According to some inside information, the guards in Tuanhe Labor Camp have prepared false information to allow them to hold Zheng Libin for another 10 months. Another practitioner, Li Xupeng, whose sentence is due to end in March 2003, also received increased pressure from the police, who want him to write a "guarantee statement" to stop practicing Falun Gong, communicating with other practitioners, and going to Beijing to appeal. The situations of these practitioners have reached a critical stage.

We appeal to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong and Amnesty International to rescue Zheng Libin, Li Xupeng, and all other practitioners who are illegally detained at Tuanhe Labor Camp in Beijing, and to put an end to the Beijing Labor Re-education Department and Tuanhe Labor Camp's human rights violations.

(Clearwisdom.net) In July 1999, Dafa practitioner Zhang Yin, the former Party Branch Secretary of Hebei Province Metallurgy and Construction No. 5 Company, was illegally detained for seven days in the Yudong Police Station of Shijiazhuang City, because he remained steadfast in his belief of Falun Dafa. Later, he was illegally detained in his company for seven more days. In addition, he was removed from his position. In November 2000, he was forcefully escorted by his company to the forced labor camp. On the way to the labor camp, Zhang Yin used his righteous thoughts to break away from the danger. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Under the pressure and threat from "610 office,"* the company sent people to search for Zhang Yin everywhere. They searched Zhang's parents' home in his hometown and the homes of all his friends and relatives. They also sent people to secretly follow his wife. They even directly went to Zhang's home and forced his wife to help them look for Zhang Yin.

Zhang Yin's son, Zhang Haibin, was originally a student at No. 22 High School in Shijiazhuang City. On December 9, 2000, Haibin, who was only 19 years old, went to Beijing to validate Dafa. He was later sentenced by the Yudong Police Station of Shijiazhuang City to three years of forced labor.

Zhang's wife, Hu Jinfang, escorted her young granddaughter to school every day. When they could not find Zhang Yin, the company attempted to kidnap Zhang's wife. On September 28, 2002, Hu Jinfang was forced to leave home to escape illegal arrest. Their two young grandchildren were at home alone, unable to reunite with their family.

The vicious police at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp force Dafa practitioners to swear at Teacher and Dafa. Whoever refuses is hung up and suffers from electric shock torture. The policemen even put the electric baton into practitioners' mouths to shock them more severely. The collaborators, former Falun Gong practitioners who have turned against Dafa due to the brainwashing and torture, have also become very vicious. Whenever they found any Dafa practitioner talking, they would kick and punch the practitioner and then report to the prison guards, who would cruelly torture the practitioner. The vicious police would drag the practitioner's arms in opposite directions and then handcuff them to two beds that are spaced widely apart. This cruel torture is very painful and makes one feel as if she is being torn apart.

Female Dafa practitioner Li Lanyin refused to write the so-called "Three Statements" [Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.]. For the second time the policemen locked her to a metal chair, which had been covered with water. The vicious policemen used an electric baton to administer shock torture . Many other practitioners were tortured to different degrees for refusing to write the "three statements." Instead they used the paper to write down facts about Falun Dafa. Some were forced to squat, then tied and hung by their wrists. Their legs were covered with blisters from the rope that tied up their legs. Practitioners who refused to answer questions were forced to sit on small stools from five in the morning until midnight every day. They were forced to remain completely still, and if they moved even slightly they were beaten.

Female practitioners who were tortured included Zhou Hua, Lu Zaoping, Sun Lizhi, Sun Rui, Wang Shuhua, Wang Shurong, Liu Shuqing and Lu Huiwen. Their terms in the forced labor camp had expired, but were extended from one to three months.

Vicious policeman Zhang Xiaochu handcuffed female Dafa practitioners to a metal chair, took off their cotton-padded jackets, opened the windows and shouted, "I will freeze you to death. With the support of the government I don't really care if you want to sue me."

We call upon all kind-hearted people in the world to stand up and help Dafa practitioners to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa!

(Clearwisdom.net) Hu Wei is a Falun Gong practitioner. He graduated from the Department of Material Chemistry at Fudan University in 1997. He worked at the phosphor factory of Yuelong Chemical Company in Shanghai. On September 2001, the company attempted to abduct him for a brainwashing session and as result, he was forced to leave home to avoid harassment and arrest. With no news of his situation, his parents and coworkers were very worried.

According to credible sources, on September 2002, the local police from Fushun City, Liaoning Province illegally arrested him while he was in Fushun. He protested with a hunger strike for a few days but was then sent to a labor camp in Fushun. His parents are very upset and worried about his safety.

Hu Wei is a very kind person, and highly esteemed by both teachers and students. He was a very responsible person, and the supervisor of a research project at the chemical company. The company watched him closely as they prepared to have him brainwashed. His research team had made some impressive discoveries just before he left the company, which subsequently claimed a 10,000 Yuan reward for his research. [A typical urban worker's pay in China is about 500 Yuan.)

After Hu Wei was forced to leave home, the company executives and Shanghai Police repeatedly harassed his parents for his whereabouts, claiming that they just wanted to contact him and not arrest him.

We hereby request any groups working to save practitioners and all international human rights associations to please help rescue Hu Wei. We ask all Fudan alumni, especially Hu Wei's classmates, to reach out and help him. We also hope anyone with further knowledge will come forward to provide more detailed information of his situation.

1. Hu Wei, male, 29 years old, graduated from the Department of Material Chemistry at Fudan University. His family lives in Xingjia, Rushan City, Shandong Province.

2. Hu Wei's company: Shanghai Yuelong Chemical Company is located in Baoshan District, Shanghai. The Shanghai Yuelong New-material Corporation manages it. He worked as the leader of a research team in the phosphor factory.

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa disciple Lu Renjuan of Longkou City, Shandong Province, has been targeted by the Police Station of Longkou City since July 20, 1999. She has traveled to Beijing three times to appeal. The local government of Xiadingjia Town illegally arrested her and paraded her through the town as a form of humiliation that was commonly used in the Cultural Revolution. In 2000, she was forced to leave her home to avoid further persecution, while the police department issued a reward of 70,000 Yuan (10 years' salary of an average urban worker) for her arrest. In May 2002, Rizhao City police arrested her at a Dafa materials production site.

Her 19-year-old son Liang Bing is still missing. Her elder sister Lu Renying was arrested and tortured. Her younger sister was also arrested and sent to brainwashing sessions in the Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City.

Her niece Lu Yanna was beaten until she lost consciousness three times by policeman Ma Xiangyang in 2000 simply because she exposed the fact that the Fengyi Town government beat Dafa disciple Tian Xiangcui to death on Minghui.net. Later policemen were afraid of beating her to death, so they sent Lu Yanna back to her school. Lu Yanna escaped with righteous thoughts. She and her husband are being sought in a nation wide search with a reward of 60,000 Yuan for their arrest. They are being hunted illegally and have been named as the key persons for the whole country, when the reason is that they exposed the facts of the persecution and the murder of a Dafa disciple.

The 70-year-old parents of Lu Renjuan were threatened and harassed by the authorities until they fell ill. The local government of Longkou City and Xiadingjia government often went to Lu Renjuan's home to confiscate her property, and they even entered the houses of her parents-in-law and sisters-in-law. Her mother could not endure the constant terror of this treatment and finally passed away.

In 2001, the former director general of the Police Department Song Xuelei died in a traffic accident. Wang Chenghui, the director of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Longkou City and the main person in charge of the local "610 Office", considered arresting Dafa disciples and sending them to forced brainwashing sessions in Wangcun Labor Camp as his top priority. He has sent a total of 19 Dafa disciples to the brainwashing sessions. On February 26th 2003, practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Belgium to peacefully protest against the proposed Article 23 legislation in Hong Kong.

(Clearwisdom.net) On the 22nd and 23rd of February, German practitioners attended a Mind, Body and Spirit Fair in Amberg. About two weeks before the beginning of the fair, the organizer called practitioners to invite them to participate in this activity. She knew about Falun Gong and had connections with practitioners, so she earnestly hoped that we could participate.

About ten days before the fair began, a man who was originally from that area called us and asked if we could teach him the exercises. On the day before the fair, he called again and practitioners arranged to teach him the exercises that weekend. They also invited him to the fair, which he was very pleased about. After practicing the exercises at the fair, this man said that he was not interested in Mind, Body, Spirit fairs and upon coming to the hall, he had felt uneasy. However, when he saw the Falun Gong booth, this feeling immediately vanished. He was very happy that he could come this time.

During the two days of the fair, the large number of people was very surprising; some people even attended on both days. Many were particularly interested in Falun Gong and asked about the local practice sites where they can learn the exercises free of charge. During the course of the day, the environment became more and more tranquil and peaceful. Many people came to the Falun Gong booth, read the display boards and watched the videos.

People also asked practitioners questions, such as, "how can sitting in meditation make the environment so tranquil?" and "what were the special features of Falun Gong?" Although many were interested, some did not take the initiative to ask questions at first. However, these people talked freely after practitioners began a discussion with them.

During the time when practitioners were demonstrating the second exercise, two ladies came to ask questions about Falun Gong. One lady who had brought a newspaper on Saturday returned to our booth on Sunday and said to practitioners with a disappointed tone, "This practice is not in the papers!" She was very sincere.

This lady condemned the persecution of Falun Gong in China from her the depths of her heart. She said that it is absolutely right to be guided by the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance" in daily life. She was unable to understand why Falun Gong is so cruelly persecuted by the Jiang regime. One practitioner explained to her that Jiang is the sole instigator of the persecution. She said that the persecution is wrong and Jiang is very evil. As she was about to leave, she told this practitioner, "You are a good person."

When practitioners began to tidy up the booth before finishing on Sunday, one man began to talk about Falun Gong with them. He said that he had practiced tai chi fifteen years ago and would like to learn Falun Gong. He also said that he appreciated that Falun Gong was free of charge.

Reporters from the local television and radio stations also arrived at the fair on Saturday, and interviewed practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Editors' Note: Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by the Jiang regime, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa disciples. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they are sealing their own fates and will inevitably face karmic retribution as punishment. For these officials, it's still not too late, and we sincerely hope that they will change their ways and ultimately make up for the damage they have done.

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20th, 2002, Yu Weidong, a patrolman in Jinzhou District of Dalian City, personally arrested Dafa disciple Miao Junjie and cruelly and inhumanly tortured Miao. Thus Yu became well known in Dalian and was given awards for arresting Dafa disciples.

Yu Weidong is 31 years old, and he was originally very healthy. However, persecuting kind people is not allowed by heavenly principles. Shortly after he arrested Miao Junjie, Yu Weidong's health became abnormal. He felt weak all over his body, and sweated profusely due to the weakness. He was out of breath after climbing two flights of stairs. Three months later, he had a physical at a hospital and the results showed that he suffered from leukemia -- blood cancer in its late stage. Currently, he is undergoing radiation therapy and has lost almost all of his hair.

A middle school student in China tells this story: My father quit smoking and drinking after he practiced Falun Gong, and as a result our family saved lots of money. My aunt and uncle used to fight all the time, but they stopped fighting after practicing Falun Gong, and the family atmosphere is much better now.

I often see Dafa practitioners printing out truth clarification materials and making VCDs using their own money.

The "Self-immolation Incident" in Tiananmen is a staged act. How can a true Falun Gong practitioner do such a thing? These are all traps that were set to slander Falun Gong and deceive the people.

I am a Dafa practitioner in Hebei Province. Soon after the persecution began in 1999, my husband and I were both arrested and illegally detained in Yanshan County's Detention Center. I was released after holding a hunger strike. My husband and I were both fired from our jobs. Our home was ransacked and our belongings were looted. I was sentenced to one year of forced labor. The police brutally tortured my husband for eight months and sentenced him to seven years in jail. He is currently detained in the Baoding City Jail.

I am a Dafa practitioner in Dalian City and used to be a teacher. In September 1999, the school suspended me for practicing Falun Dafa and took away my salary. My home was ransacked many times, and I was detained and sent to a brainwashing class in a drug rehabilitation center. I was extorted, force-fed and brutally beaten. On August 1, 2000, I was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor and sent to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp, where I was forced to do slave labor and brutally tortured. The guards shocked me with electric batons, kicked me, beat me with rubber sticks, whipped me with metal wires and choked me by forcibly submerging my head in water. Under tremendous pressure, I wrote a repentance statement against my will, and here I solemnly announce its annulment. In mid-April 2002, the police again kidnapped me from school and tried to send me to a labor camp. I broke out of the police department with righteous thoughts and have left home ever since to avoid further persecution.

Dafa practitioner Su Xueling from Hanshan District, Handan City in Hebei Province distributed truth clarification flyers along with her daughter in late 2002. Her daughter was arrested, and Su Xueling was forced to leave home. In late October 2002, officers from the Hanshan District Police Department kidnapped Su Xueling on her way home. She was brutally beaten and passed out from torture. She was later sent to the No. 1 Detention Center in Handan City. Su Xueling held a hunger strike and became extremely weak. Before the New Year's Day, Xu Xueling was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor and was sent to Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp to be further persecuted. Voice of America February 24^th report: Nearly 80 Falun Gong practitioners were rejected entry at the customs of Hong Kong airport and deported back to Taiwan. The Mainland Affairs Council in Taiwan and Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan protested. The Mainland Affairs Council urged the Hong Kong government to prohibit similar incidents of "violence and violation of human rights" from taking place in the future, in order to avoid destroying the harmonious relationship between Hong Kong and Taiwan and the international image of Hong Kong. The Falun Dafa Association held a press conference immediately after this incident.
