School Principal Defends Dafa Disciple at a Meeting (Clearwisdom.net) A female teacher started practicing Falun
Dafa in 1998. Based on the background of her students, she used flexible
teaching approaches. She often advised her students not to do bad deeds or bully
others. She taught her students to become sympathetic of the weak, to treat
lives with compassion, and to learn to tolerate and endure. After following her
advice, her students changed dramatically. Their school performance and moral
standards improved tremendously. The school and the students' parents speak
highly of her. At the end of 2002, she was elected "Excellent Teacher of the
Year." The school then submitted her materials to the upper level
for further approval. At the meeting someone raised a concern, saying she is not
eligible for participating in such a competition because she is a Falun Gong
practitioner. The principal refuted such a comment. He listed enough reasons
testifying how this teacher had become a morally noble person and a backbone of
the school after taking up the practice of Falun Gong. He continued, "Because
she is sincere and works hard, she has turned a chaotic class into an orderly
class. The school, parents and society are all very satisfied with her
performance. She is a good teacher and is well respected and loved by her
students." The principal asked, "Why should such an excellent teacher be
deprived of her right to participate in the competition just because she
practices Falun Gong? Isn't this unfair? People who practice Falun Gong are very
good people regardless of the evaluation criteria. Why should we keep good
people away? What benefit would such action bring to our education system?" After listening to the principal, all the leaders became
speechless. Even the one hosting the meeting felt very inspired. Later on, the
leaders all agreed that she deserved the "Excellent Teacher of the Year" award,
and promised to further submit her materials to the city education bureau for
her to participate in the competition of "Excellent Teacher of Year" at the city
level. Posting date: 11/30/2003 |
