(Clearwisdom.net)

  • An official from the National Anti-corruption Bureau revealed that there are currently over 4,000 corrupt officials taking over 5 billion Yuan (600 Million US Dollars) with them as they flee overseas. The huge loss of state assets has endangered some state owned enterprises and caused severe social problems.
  • (Central News Agency, August 21) The corrupt officials who have fled China and who are currently overseas are mostly from the financial system and state owned enterprises. The abuse of the current management system of the state owned enterprises is the cause of the officials' abuse of authority and corruption.
  • (Financial Times, UK) According to a study that was conducted by Beijing University, in recent years, the amount of money illegally transferred overseas from China is: 36.4 billion US dollars) in 1998 and 23.8 billion US dollars in 1999.
