By a Dafa practitioner in Mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) A few days ago, a new teacher came to the school where I teach. My first impression of her was not that good, because I found her to be loud and boisterous.

It was arranged for us to be roommates, which annoyed me, and I tried to avoid her. Later I talked with my younger sister who is a Falun Dafa practitioner. My sister said, "Do you remember what our Teacher said, if you do not love your enemy, you'll not be able to consummate yourself in your cultivation. You are not being kind to others. You know that this is a kind of predestined relationship. Why would she have come to live in the same room with you and annoy you? Maybe it's a reflection of a problem of yours."

I forced myself to get closer to her and spend more time talking with her. Eventually, the topic of conversation turned to Falun Gong. With her best interest at heart, I talked to her about everything from "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to the event on April 25^th, 1999 to the staged self-immolation event. After several of these conversations, she came to agree with my point of view and changed her hostile attitude toward Dafa.

Recollecting this experience, I realized that I almost destroyed her future because I was unkind. I understand that I should give up my selfishness and be tolerant of others. I should speak from within the Fa and for the purpose of saving people. Otherwise, we are exposing ourselves to loopholes for the evil to take advantage of.
