In June 2001, policemen in one city began to destroy all written records that had been preserved while suppressing Falun Gong. In December 2001, they destroyed another batch of secret documents earmarked with the logo of the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. Practitioners spray-painted, "Falun Dafa is Good" all over a scenic hill in a city in Shandong Province. This was seen as a miracle. The policemen were ordered to paint over the characters, which made them quite busy. Someone said, "These policemen do not arrest criminals, but specially intend to arrest good people who cultivate 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance."

[Note: In a just society, this act of spray painting "Falun Dafa is good!" would not occur; however, in the particular environment in China where Falun Gong is being brutally persecuted by the Chinese dictator, and the government's repeated false and evil propaganda has left much of the general public with the impression that Falun Gong is not good and no one is practicing it any longer, such an action will shock people, awaken their consciences, and offer them a further opportunity of being saved. The general public will see such an action as practitioners' courage and admire them. The action may also shock and frighten those perpetrators into seeing their failure in deceiving the public.]

During the New Year's Day holidays, about 300 female villager practitioners, ranging in ages from 45 to 60 years old, appealed to their local government and protested against the persecution and mistreatment imposed on them for practicing Falun Gong. The protest lasted more than a day. Local authorities dispatched police cars equipped with high volume speakers to threaten these kind-hearted practitioners, but the practitioners calmly faced the policemen. The police had no solution for how to deal with the peaceful appeal.

[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners are Brutally Force-Fed in the Wujiabaozi Labor Camp

After some practitioners protested with a hunger strike for several days, the wardens locked them in a dark room and shocked them with several electric batons at the same time. When the practitioners lost consciousness from the beatings, the wardens poured cold water on them and they kicked practitioners' vulnerable body parts. Wu, the head of the wardens said, "The Political and Judiciary Committee assigned us a number of quotas for death cases. We won't be held responsible if we beat Falun Gong practitioners to death."

Policemen, criminals and six doctors--over a dozen people altogether--handcuffed female practitioners on this hunger strike and force-fed them through a gastric tube inserted through their noses. The practitioners being force-fed were: Xu Xiuyun, Shi Jinling, Zhou Yuzhi, Song Xiuxue, Li Li, Yin Yanjuan, Wang Hong, Jiang Yan, Qin Yuanhui and Hui Lijuan. Practitioners Xu Xiuyun and Shi Jinling were hung up with handcuffs and shocked with big electric batons while they were being beaten and kicked.

The abusive people were Guan Zhenghe, Zhou Yilin, Nan Nan, team chief Wu, Shi Qingyun, Liu Shaoyu, Hou Yong, Yang Haihua, director of the labor camp hospital, Li Yongshi and others.

[China] Work Unit Leaders Protest an "Urgent Document" Issued by Police Departments

Recently, every work unit received an urgent document from police department authorities to prevent Dafa practitioners from entering Beijing. In the document, every work unit was ordered, before the Spring Festival, to locate and return those practitioners who lived in exile. The practitioner's family must pay the expense of dispatching people to find practitioners. If those practitioners could not be found, the leader of the work unit would be punished. The leaders thought it was unfair, but they had no place to address their grievances.

[The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute powers over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems].

On January 22, when practitioner Mr. Zang Dianguo was renting a car at a rental company, personnel from the "610 Office" and patrolling policemen in Shuangcheng City illegally arrested him without reason and ransacked his home. They even ransacked Zang Dianguo's mother's home. His mother was horrified and as a result, she became ill and had to stay in bed. On the same day, practitioner Hou Laosan (pseudonym) was also illegally arrested. At 7:00 p.m., the authorities arrested practitioners Zhao Qingshan and Li Chao, who had lived in exile, and also a female practitioner named Zhao Dongxia and a practitioner named Shi Laowu. Zhao Dongxia was detained in a detention center for over three months, and the policemen even illegally confiscated her car.

[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Wardens in the Wanjia Labor Camp Say, "We are Scared When You Send Forth Righteous Thoughts."

In the Wanjia Labor Camp the wardens said to practitioners, "We do not allow you to send forth righteous thoughts and hold your hands up vertically because we are scared." That's why practitioners in the labor camp are kept under surveillance around the clock. Once a practitioner holds his hand up vertically, the wardens will stop him immediately. If the practitioners do not comply, they will beat and kick them. They even hang up practitioners with only their toes touching the ground.

Of course, what our righteous thoughts eliminate are not the wardens, but the evil forces which manipulate them. Then the beings who were scared were not the men themselves. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Authorities at Universities Persecute Practitioners: Some Facts

In September 1999, three university students who were determined to cultivate Dafa and refused to write the "guarantee statement" were expelled from Dalian City's University of Technology.

In 2000, six practitioners were secretly expelled from Liaoning Province Normal University.

In 2001, a practitioner who went to appeal in Beijing was illegally dismissed from Dalian City's Light Industry College.

[Shandong Province] Some Forced Labor Camp Authorities Torture Dafa Practitioners: The True Circumstances

Policemen from Unit No.12 at Forced Labor Camp No. 2 in Shandong Province instigated collaborators, those former practitioners who have been brainwashed by the regime, to brutally torture and abuse practitioners who refuse to write the "three statements" [Statements guaranteeing to give up Falun Gong, never to go to Beijing to appeal and not to associate with other practitioners]. The collaborators first indoctrinated practitioners who were illegally detained there with the evil-enlightened theories, and then beat those practitioners who did not accept what they said with fists and kicked them with their feet, and also hit them on the heads and bodies with boards and sticks. They forced practitioners to stay awake for a long period of time, spit in their faces and squeezed dirty shoes into the practitioners' mouths. Some practitioners were beaten so badly that their heads bled and their bodies were covered with bruises. The abuse would not stop until the practitioners wrote the "three statements."

Jiang Mingzhai, one of the Qingdao practitioners, has been abused for a year by being forced to sit on a bench.

The collaborators are: Wu Hao from Jinan City, Kong Tiezhu from Longkou City, Ma Wu and Xu Bo from Weifang City.

Unit No. 3 at Qingdao City's Forced Labor Camp is a place specifically designed for persecuting practitioners. It has sections No. 1 and No. 2. The director's last name is Wu, the secretary's last name is Zhang, the leader of Section No.1 is Ji Qiangguo; the policemen of Section No. 1 are Wang Yongjian and Leng Jiaguang. People in Section No. 2 applied the same torture method used by Shandong Province's No. 2 Forced Labor Camp, which is to first bombard practitioners with the evil-enlightened theories, followed by beating those practitioners who firmly insist on cultivating Dafa with fists, shoes, stools, belts or using lit cigarettes to burn practitioners. Practitioners are not allowed to sleep for long periods of time. Prisoners from Section No. 2 beat practitioners' heads and faces with their shoes. Sometimes, practitioners were beaten to the point of losing consciousness. The abuse does not stop until a practitioner writes the "three documents."

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Changchun Policemen Kidnap 14 Practitioners

On January 15, 2002, fourteen practitioners were arrested in front of the Education Center of Jilin Province (Minghui.Net reported it on January 26). Police officers had gotten the information beforehand, because government agents had spread false information that there would be an open trial for practitioners, which was in actuality a trial for criminal prisoners. Evils took advantage of our practitioners this time and caused a big loss. This is a big lesson. Every practitioner in Changchun should look inside, read the book more, study the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil, and not giving the evil anymore chances.

[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Arrest of a Married Couple, Practitioners Wang Huaili and Wang Shurong

On January 21, 2002, a local policeman named Cheng and two agents in plain clothes arrested Dafa practitioner Wang Huaili and his wife Wang Shurong from their home at Jiangti Yi Xiang, Zhenjiang Office, Daowai District, Harbin City.

The policeman went to Wang's home and ordered the couple to give up their belief in Falun Dafa and turn in Dafa books. The couple refused and then were abducted and detained.

Harbin news: an insider from the city government reported that practitioners who broadcast Dafa truth-clarifying VCD, if caught, would be sentenced to 5 years in jail without a trial. We suggest that all practitioners in Harbin City send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate this persecution, eradicating it from the beginning.

[Yunfu City, Guangdong Province] Plot of a New Round of Persecution Against Falun Gong

The authorities in Yunfu City, Guangdong Province are plotting a new round of persecution against practitioners. Wen Yaoshen, secretary of the city government, is using all kinds of circumstances and conferences to require the "610 Office" to apply more pressure against practitioners, enforce the persecution and monitor practitioners. Authorities from the city propaganda division and civil affairs office are going to organize a picture exhibition against Dafa to be held during the Spring Festival. The persecution also includes sending out policemen to search practitioners' homes and arrest practitioners at places where more Dafa truth-clarifying materials are distributed. The government uses these so-called "sensitive days" [before festivals and important meetings] to pressure practitioners at home. Two practitioners from Yunan County, Tan Mei and Zhang Xinmei, were illegally detained for a long time and were sent to a forced labor camp this month without due process of law.

[Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Baima Forced Labor Camp Authorities Persecute Dafa Practitioners

I am totally clear now, and totally free of the mind-control applied by authorities at the Baima Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. During the time I was in this Labor Camp, I was daily indoctrinated with evil stuff and given forced brainwashing for months. When I was incarcerated in the "strictly monitored" unit, I daily heard the noises of people with electric batons beating practitioners. Practitioner Zuo Shuchun was force- fed and tortured to death. Practitioner Cao Xianghui was handcuffed and hung up for three days and nights without food and water, and not allowed to use the restroom because he practiced the Dafa exercises. Practitioner Cao Jingzhong, an over 60-year-old woman, was beaten and one of her ribs fractured. She was locked in a solitary compartment. Practitioners Yang Youyuan and Bai Manzhen were sent to a mental hospital for persecution. Yang Youyuan was held there for half a month, which caused him to become mentally disoriented. The persecutions imposed on practitioners are endless and uncountable. So now that I am awake and clear, I must tell the public: "Falun Dafa is Great."

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Hewan Forced Labor Camp Authorities Persecute Dafa Practitioners: The True Circumstances

In October of 2001, practitioner Liu Ning was locked in the "Strictly Monitored Room" for not cooperating with jail policemen. During that time, other prisoners often ate his meal, so he had to suffer hunger. In the middle of November, when he came out from the strictly monitored unit, his health was very weak, and he had difficulty walking. After being diagnosed at Concord Hospital as suffering from "St.Anthony's Fire," [an acute skin disease] he had to be treated in the hospital for two months. Liu Ning cannot walk normally now.

Policeman Gao Junan persecuted practitioner Huang Shiwen from Division No. 3 because Huang did not cooperate with him. Gao and other prisoners also persecuted practitioners Cheng Jinhui and Duan Shichang from Division No. 9. Practitioners from Divisions No. 5 and No. 7 were forbidden to buy daily necessities; their personal freedom was very limited. Practitioner Zhang Sifeng from Division No. 5 was tortured for two months. His health was very bad and he had difficulty walking. Practitioner Peng Weisheng should have finished his detention term by April 28 of 2001, but because of his insistence on Dafa cultivation, his term was extended many times. He is still illegally detained.

[Jimo City, Shandong Province] Persecution of Dafa Practitioners: Some Facts

1. Persons from the Politics and Judiciary Department of Jimo City secretly convened court proceedings for illegally detained Dafa practitioners. Their ploy consisted of kidnapping or entrapping practitioners into brainwashing classes. The authorities illegally imprisoned practitioners, kept them in a group set apart and prevented them from contacting outsiders. On one occasion, the practitioners had been imprisoned over 50 days. The authorities rounded up thugs from villages to watch over the practitioners, extort money from practitioners and also force them to renounce their belief. These scoundrels even beat an over 60-year-old woman.

2. Jimo City's Detention center authorities unlawfully detained practitioners and once didn't provide any food for them for four or five days. These guards also incited prisoners to beat and abuse practitioners. One police officer even instructed prisoners to force-feed the practitioners with feces and sputum.

[Dezhou City, Shandong Province] We Urgently Appeal for Rescue of Practitioners at Wucheng County, Dezhou City, Shandong Province

About ten days before the New Year's Day of 2002, twenty-eight practitioners from Wucheng County, Shandong Province were arrested between 10:00 p.m. that day and 2:00 a.m. the next day. They were separately sent to brainwashing classes at Zibo City's Forced Labor Camp, Jinan City's Forced Labor Camp and to Dezhou City. The police inhumanly deprived the practitioners of sleep. Only after the practitioners had given up their belief could they sleep.

We suggest practitioners around the world to send forth righteous thoughts together from 9:00 p.m to 9:10 p.m, between January 27 and February 10, 2002 to eliminate the evil.

120 Solemn Declarations Received Today

As practitioners in China face tremendous pressure to give up their beliefs under the Chinese regime's brutal persecution, there are those who have given in and signed documents renouncing Falun Dafa. However, many of these people deeply regret doing so after they are released from detention and labor camps. "Solemn declarations" are the public statements made by such practitioners, often at great risk to their personal safety, to declare to the world that the documents they signed under duress are null and void and that they will continue to practice Falun Dafa.

Persecution Cases of Practitioners at the Second Aeronautical Engineering Institute of Changchun Airforce

Liu Yan, female, former Party member, obtained her master's degree from the Northeast Normal University and was employed as an instructor at the department of basic courses of the Second Aeronautical Engineering Institute of Changchun Airforce (SAEICA). After July 20, 1999, she was persecuted for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, forced to leave the Institute and had to make a living on her own. She went to Beijing again in December 2001 to rectify the Fa and was arrested and sent to a prison in the suburbs of Beijing. After 5 days of hunger strike, she was unconditionally released. Now she, her husband, Liu Yong (also a practitioner) and their 4-year-old child have become destitute and homeless due to the persecution.

Feng Haiying, female, former Party member, has a bachelor's degree and was originally the principal of the kindergarten attached to the Second Aeronautical Engineering Institute of Changchun Airforce. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. When she came back, she was put under house arrest with Liu Yan and other practitioners at Yuhong hotel. The Institute demanded that she give up cultivation, but she is determined in Dafa. As a result, she has been persecuted and forced to leave the institute.

Liang Lijie, female, former party member, has a master's degree from Jilin Industry University. She was employed as an instructor at the department of basic courses of SAEICA. She was persecuted and forced to leave the institute for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in November 2000. As a result, she had to make a living on her own. In November 2001, when she was clarifying the truth to people, she was arrested and sent to the Third Detention Center of Changchun.

Qi Yongjia, male, was a fulltime employee at SAEICA. In November 2000, he went to Beijing to validate the Fa. As a result, he was sent back and illegally detained at Changchun Tiebei Detention Center. He was fired because he firmly cultivated Dafa. Half a year later, the Institute permitted him to come back and work again. Because he always holds righteous thoughts and keeps clarifying the truth to people, as a punishment, SAEICA removed him from the fulltime position and forced him to work part time.

Yao Chengxu, male, former Party member, graduated from the Institute of Xian Airforce Engineering Science. He was originally employed as an instructor at the fourth department of SAEICA. He was also a member of the expert group at the Institute. After July 20, 1999, because he firmly cultivated Dafa, he was persecuted and forced to leave the Institute and make a living on his own. In February 2001, he was arrested, because he refused to step on Teacher's picture, picking it up instead at the ticket-checking entrance of the Mudanjiang railway station of Heilongjiang province. He was severely beaten up and then illegally detained at Mudanjiang Detention Center.

Yao Limin, female, former Party member, graduated from Jilin Industry University. She was originally employed as the assistant director of the teaching and research section of the Second Department of SAEICA. After July 20, 1999, during the holidays, the teaching and research section often held group meetings to demand that she give up her cultivation practice. Because of her determination in Dafa, she was persecuted and forced to leave the Institute and make a living on her own.

Jiang Shitai, male, former Party member, was an instructor at the rank of regiment commander at SAEICA. After July 20, 1999, because he was determined in Dafa, he was illegally put under house arrest several times. The public security bureau illegally ransacked his living quarters. Because he did not cooperate with the evil, he was forced out of the Party and is now retired at home.

Gu Wenguang, male, former Party member, graduated from the Institute of Xian Airforce Engineering. He was originally employed as an instructor at the first department of SAEICA. After July 20,1999, the Institute talked to him several times and demanded that he give up his cultivation practice. Because he firmly believed in Dafa, he was forced to leave the Institute.

Jin Wenhua, male, former Party member, was originally an instructor at the second department of SAEICA. He graduated from the Institute of Xian Airforce Engineering. After July 1999, during the university vacation, the teaching and research section demanded several times that he give up his cultivation practice, and because of his determination in Dafa, he was forced to leave the Institute.

Dafa Practitioners from Zhengzhou City, Henan Province Savagely Beaten in Baimiao Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Quan Peijun, Zhang Yongli and Xu Xiaowu, were imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners in the Third Group of Baimiao Forced Labor Camp. During the National holiday in October 2001, they were savagely tortured for two days because they practiced the Falun Gong meditation exercises in a recreation room. These actions were ordered by He Xianglong, the director of the Third Group of Baimiao Forced labor Camp. The police either handcuffed or tied the practitioners' hands behind their backs (several criminals were summoned to help the police with the beating). They kicked and hit the practitioners, beating them with four or five electric batons. The practitioners were shocked with high voltage electric batons for more than half an hour. Practitioners were shocked repeatedly on multiple locations including their heads, necks, ears, faces, lips and other places. The most vicious action was done by a group leader who shocked the practitioners on their genitals

On November 15, 2001, practitioner Quan Peijun shouted "unacceptable" during a forced anti-Falun Gong "re-education by torture" class at the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp. Camp officials ordered the practitioners to attend an exhibition defaming Falun Gong against the practitioners' will. The forced anti-Falun Gong brainwashing class was held in the Henan Science and Technology Building. During the class, Quan Peijun was beaten by officials doing the presentation and shocked with electric batons by He Xianglong, the director of the Third Group. In another instance, around January 14, 2002, practitioner Qu Mengchao did not want to watch the TV programs in which Falun Gong was being slandered and subsequently chose to return to his cell. For this he was ganged up on and beaten by several criminals. The criminals hoped to either get their terms reduced or get authorities' praise by torturing practitioners. On January 15, 2002, Qu Mengchao stood up to speak his opinion at a meeting organized to attack Falun Gong. He Xianglong ordered several people to beat Qu Mengchao and shock him with electric batons. Qu Mengchao's legs were injured so badly that he could not walk. After this incident, Qu Mingchao was locked up in an isolated cell.

The actions of the police in the labor camp severely broke the Administration Law of Education by Forced Labor. The law says that the use of electric batons is only applicable when a criminal resists arrest, and police should not physically punish prisoners. Besides that, they also broke the 248^th item of criminal law regarding "infringement upon a citizen's right of personal freedom and democratic rights." Staff members in prisons, custody centers, detention centers and other jail systems are forbidden to beat, physically punish and torture prisoners. For severe acts, they will be subject to up to 3 years of detention as criminals. For extremely severe acts, the staff members could be sentenced to no less than 3 years, and up to ten years of detention as criminals. If they cause a prisoner's permanent disability and or death, the staff members will face even harsher sentences.

Based on definitions in the laws, "Beat" refers to violent conduct toward prisoners such as kicking, hitting, striking with sticks etc. "Physical punishment and torture" refers to all physical and mental torture except physical beating, such as forcing prisoners to stay in cold temperatures, denial of food, forcing prisoners to kneel down, do prolonged, heavy labor beyond their capability, locking up people in isolated cells, humiliating them, and using instruments of torture. "Inciting" refers to encouraging some prisoners to beat up other prisoners. "Inciting" is another way of "beating, physically abusing and torturing prisoners" and it is a criminal act. There is no fundamental difference between inciting others to achieve personal interest and personally directly performing it. The item clearly defines this situation.

We call on all the kind-hearted people to pay attention to the illegal acts taking place in the labor camps, and help us to solve the current crisis in China.

Falun Dafa Practitioners are Persecuted in Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province

Mrs. Li Guipin went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in 1999. After she was escorted back to Shuangyashan City, the Lixin Police confiscated the 300 Yuan RMB (the average monthly salary of an urban worker is 500 Yuan) she had brought with her and illegally detained her. During the detention, the police guards brutally beat her because she studied Falun Dafa and continued to do the exercises. They held hearings many times, and she was threatened and coerced to give up her belief in Falun Dafa the entire time she was illegally detained. She was finally released twenty days later, after officers from Police Department Jianshan Branch and the Municipal Police Department extorted 8000 Yuan from her. Also, the director with last name Han of Lixin Police Station confiscated two pairs of name brand pants during her detention. A policeman named Zhen from the Municipal Police Department also tried to obtain cigarettes from her family but failed. Her husband's work unit, Baoshan Coal Mine, destroyed his work records and personnel file without notifying him, because they were afraid of being implicated. When her husband inquired about it, the leaders of the company shifted the blame elsewhere, taking no responsibility. However, after another large sum of money was produced, his work records and file were re-established.

On October 26, 1999, Du Xiuqin, a 40-year-old female, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. She was detained in the Mineral Bureau Detention Center for fifty-six days after being escorted back from Beijing. During her detention, she was abused and beaten by an instructor, Meng Xiangyou. On July 26, 2000, she went to Beijing again. After being taken back, she was detained in Shuangshan Mineral Bureau Detention Center for fifteen days. After her detention, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor "re-education" in Xigemu Female Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City. On September 6, 2001, Song Fengzhi, the Secretary of the Labor Insurance Group in her work unit, along with a policeman, tricked her with a fabricated excuse into going to the detention center, where she was illegally detained for three months.

On December 28, 2001, a widespread search for Falun Dafa practitioners was launched. Ten practitioners in Fuli Village of Shuangyashan City were captured through this illegal search.

In December 1999, Ma Xueru, a 30-year-old female Falun Dafa practitioner from Fuli Village, was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor "re-education" for going to Beijing to appeal the persecution of Falun Dafa. After her release, she insisted on studying and practicing Falun Gong at home. She was often harassed for no reason. She went to submit a petition, representing Falun Gong practitioners, to the municipal leaders, then to the provincial level, and eventually she went to Beijing. On September 10, 2001, she was illegally detained for three months. To protest her illegal detention, she went on a hunger strike. She wasn't released until her life was in danger due to the extreme effects of the hunger strike. On December 28, 2001, the police failed to abduct her during a widespread search for Falun Dafa practitioners. However, they located her the next day and forcibly took her into custody, detaining her to the present time.

Qin Yuping, a 61-year-old female resident of the Jianshan District, reporting to No.83 Neighborhood Committee, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa on New Year's Day of 2001, then returned safely to her home. However, she was abducted from her home by policeman Wang Xuchun, from Wohongqiao Police Station, and sent to a detention center where she was illegally detained for over four months.

Pan Xingfu, a 28-year-old male, was an employee from the Telecommunications Company in Shuangyashan City. In July 2000, the First Section of the Shuangyashan Police Department forcibly detained him for one month at the Municipal Detention Center. During his detention, the policeman Gao extorted from him 600 Yuan, his beeper, and his cell phone, which was worth 4000 Yuan. In May 2001, he was forcibly abducted in a taxi, and the police again confiscated his laptop and his beeper. The responsible policemen are: Xu Hongkai and Shang Ancheng.

In January 2001, Liu Shuzhen, a 53-year-old female resident of the Jianshan District, reporting to No.81 Neighborhood Committee, went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. Wohongqiao Police Station detained her and extorted 1000 Yuan before releasing her. Jiang Zhenkang was the policeman primarily responsible for these illegal acts.

On July 12, 2001, Wang Yuzhuo, a female resident of the Jianshan District, reporting to No.14 Neighborhood Committee, went to appeal in Beijing and was later escorted back to the Jianshan District. Policemen and staff from the local government's liaison office in Beijing extorted 2000 Yuan from her and illegally detained her for thirty-four days. Her work unit also deducted three and a half month's salary from her pay. Starting in October 2000, her phone was monitored for three months. In April 2001, her phone was again monitored for two more months. In 2002, authorities again began monitoring her phone and have continued to monitor it to the present time.

Zhao Juan, a 37-year-old female, is a teacher from No.1 High School in Shuangyashan City. On July 22, 1999, she went to appeal in Beijing and was escorted back by policemen of her hometown and people from her school. On September 9, 1999, she went to Beijing again. She was then sentenced to two years of forced labor "re-education" in Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City. She had to work thirteen to fourteen hours every day, and the food in the labor camp was of poor quality. When she went on a hunger strike, the policemen tied her to a bed and forcibly inserted a tube into her nose. They didn't allow her to go to the washroom, either. The police director Zheng in the labor camp brutally beat her and placed her in confinement for three months. During her detention, her salary was not paid. On November 11, 2000, Qiu Shuying, a 46-year-old female, was clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa when policemen from the Fuan Police Station forcibly abducted her. The vicious policemen Zhu Weidong and Li Shouren beat her for more than an hour in order to obtain information about the source of the truth clarifying literature. When they failed to get any information, the police proceeded to torture Qiu by forcing her to do "Body-folding" for over forty minutes (standing with two legs straight and close, and bending the head down as far as it will go toward the feet, in front of the knees. The fingers point to the ground, the head is upside down, making the body to form a 90-degree angle.) The director of the police station, Li Shiwen, sent her to a forced labor camp around 1:00 a.m. and detained her there for thirty-nine days. She was released after the municipal police department extorted 4000 Yuan from her.

On April 5, 2000, Sun Shuzhi, a 61-year-old female, went to present a petition on behalf of Falun Gong practitioners who were being persecuted to Shuangyashan City Government. As a result, she was illegally detained in the Mineral Bureau Detention Center. After she was released, policemen from Fuan Police Station and Lingdongrong Work Team often harassed her at her home. On July 4, 2000, she went to appeal in Beijing and was escorted back to her hometown. In August of 2000, Chen Dexing, the head of the Public Security Division of the Mineral Bureau sent her to Jiamusi Female Forced Labor Camp. She was detained there for a year. Sun Min, a 34-year-old female, lives in the Jianshan District. In June 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. The "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) abducted her along the way and escorted her back to the Jianshan District. Without any legal procedures, she was then illegally detained for fifteen days under the alleged charge of disturbing the public order.

Lou Weiming, a 47-year-old female, lives on Jianshe Road in the Jianshan District. She is a teacher from No.18 Middle School. On July 13, 2001, she went to Beijing to appeal and was illegally detained for twenty-three days. Policemen Wang and Duan from the Shuangyashan government's Liaison Office in Beijing, extorted 4000 Yuan from her with the fabricated excuse that every Falun Gong practitioner who went to Beijing was required to pay 2000 Yuan as a fine and an additional 2000 Yuan as a guarantee for bail.

The Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Town of Taiping, Jixian County, Heilongjiang Province

Zhai Shulin, 38 year-old, male, was illegally detained for 47 days after he went to Beijing to appeal. In the detention center, they put 53-lb shackles on his feet for practicing the exercises. They fined him 525 Yuan [the average monthly salary of a Chinese worker is 400 Yuan] when they released him. In 2000, Zhai went to Beijing to appeal again. They caught him in Shenyang and illegally detained him for over 41/2 months. In the detention center, they put 110-lb iron shackles on him and physically punished him because he said, "Falun Dafa is good". They then illegally sent him to a forced labor camp. On July 22, 1999, the town government extorted 3000 Yuan from Zhai's family.

Zhang Shuoxian, a 68 year-old female, is blind in both eyes. On February 2, 2000, the town government illegally sent her to a detention center for 60 days. She had to pay 700 Yuan to the detention center as "food expenses."

On February 2, 2000 Ma Zhenlin, a 71 year-old male was illegally sent to a detention center for 24 days by the town government. Zhang Jingliang, the chief of security section of Jixian County extorted 2000 Yuan from him and the detention center asked him for 360 Yuan for "food expenses."

Wang Chunling, a 24 year-old female, went to Beijing to appeal on February 2, 2000. They caught her in Shenyang and illegally detained her in the county's detention center for 4 3/4 months. She went on a hunger strike for 4 days.

Ma Qingquan went to Beijing to appeal on July 21, 1999. The security section of Jixian illegally detained him for 69 days. In the detention center, they put 42-lb shackles on his feet for practicing the exercises. On February 1, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal again. They caught him and illegally detained him for 143 days. In the detention center, they put 87-lb shackles on his feet for seven days for practicing the exercises. He went on a hunger strike to protest and was force-fed a highly concentrated salt water solution. On November 18, 2001, they sent him to the detention center again for distributing Falun Dafa materials in the town of Shengchang. He went on a hunger strike for 12 days and they forcefully fed him with salt-water solution. They released him 32 days later. They extorted more than 4000 Yuan from him in August 1999 and 379 Yuan in 2001.

Meng Wanyou, 46 years old, was brought to Taiping Police Station on February 2, 2000 and illegally detained for 53 days in the detention center. On May 25, 2001, they sent him to the detention center again for clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa and held him 105 days. On September 10, 2001, they sent him to Suihua Labor Camp without informing his family. He has been detained there ever since.

Sun Yongzhen, female, 45 years old, was brought to Taiping Police Station on February 2, 2000 and illegally held for 21 days in the detention center. She paid 300 Yuan for "food expenses" to the detention center and 2000 Yuan as a deposit.

Gao Lili, female, 20 years old, was brought to Taiping Police Station on February 2, 2000. They illegally held her for 53 days in the detention center and charged her 750 Yuan for her "meals."

Li Furong, male, 60 years old, was detained for 66 days since February 2, 2000 for no apparent reason. They charged him 750 Yuan for "meal expenses" and 2000 Yuan as a fine.

Zhai Renzhang, male, 65 years old, was arrested at home on February 7, 2000 by the town government. They detained him for 18 days and charged him 250 Yuan for his "meals" and 2000-Yuan as a deposit.

Li Jinglian, female, 43 years old, was brought to the detention center on February 3, 2000 and detained for 16 days. She paid 240 Yuan as "meal expenses."

Yi Fengxian, male, 36 years old went to Beijing to appeal on July 20, 1999. He was illegally detained for 47 days, and 3000 Yuan plus 525 Yuan for "meal costs" were extorted from him. On February 2, 2000, they caught him on his way to Beijing to appeal and illegally detained him for 143 days. He was released after a four-day hunger strike.

40 year-old Ma Shufen, female, went to Beijing to appeal on February 2, 2000. She was caught on the way and illegally detained for 143 days. She was released after being on a hunger strike for four days. While she was in the detention center, they ransacked her house, took 6,650 Yuan and fined her another 22,880 Yuan.

Ma Zhenqing, male, 68 years old, was arrested at home on February 3, 2000 for no apparent reason. They sent him to the detention center and detained him for 20 days. 2300 Yuan was extorted from them for "meals" and other "expenses."

Liu Shuqin, female, 60 years old, was arrested at home on February 2, 2000 for no apparent reason. They detained her for 66 days. They extorted 2000 Yuan and 750 Yuan for "meal expenses" from her.

Tang Xueyong, male, 38 years old went to Beijing to appeal on February 2, 2000. He was caught on the way and illegally detained for over 4 months. He was sent to a forced labor camp without any proper legal procedures. On May 25, 2001, he was sent to the detention center again for distributing Falun Dafa materials and illegally detained for over 3 months. In the detention center, he went on a hunger strike for 6 days. They forcefully inserted a feeding tube in him and he passed out. While he was still unconscious, they dragged him to a car and sent him to Suihua Labor Camp, where he remains.

Ma Xuelin, male, 49 years old, was taken to the police station on February 3, 2000. They sent him to the detention center and detained him for 20 days. They extorted 300 Yuan from him.

Xu Hongming, male, 17 years old, was sent to the detention center on May 25, 2001 for distributing Falun Dafa material. After detaining him for 105 days, they illegally sent him to a labor camp where he still remains.

Song Dehua, 48 years old, was brought to the police station on February 3, 2000 and sent to the detention center for 16 days. He was fined 240 Yuan.

Wang Xiaoli, female, 35 years old, was brought to the police station on February 3, 2000 and sent to the detention center for 16 days. He was fined 240 Yuan.

Presenting My Fa-rectification Experience to "Falun Dafa Day in Dalian City"

On this solemn and sacred day, I wrote down my experience to present to fellow practitioners as well as everyday people. Please kindly point out my mistakes.

I was arrested on July 20, 1999 for appealing in Beijing. Because I widely promoted Falun Dafa and cultivated Falun Dafa steadfastly, I was transferred from administrative to criminal detention. However, as I remained resolutely devoted to Dafa, the police released me.

In the 2000 Dalian City Fashion Festival, because of my skills and conscientiousness, I was hired by a clothing company in Shenyang City at a monthly salary of 3,000 Yuan. My co-workers liked to talk with me. I inspired their righteous thoughts and used benevolence to help them realize the difference between righteousness and evil. One co-worker never joined our talk but listened outside the door. Gradually, he felt that what I said was right, and also because he always admired the upright and noble Yue Fei (an ancient Chinese hero), he became a steadfast Falun Dafa practitioner. Afterwards, he told me that it is Falun Dafa that saved him, because he lived a very difficult life and had once planned to commit robbery. It is Falun Dafa that saved a person who was walking towards the abyss.

Once, my uncle came from Dalian City and questioned closely how much the manager paid me. At that time, the company's operation was in a most difficult stage. Although the manager had promised to pay me a monthly salary of 3,000 Yuan, in fact I was only receiving 200 to 300 Yuan every month. The rest was used for keeping the business afloat. My uncle roared in anger, and the manager was very embarrassed and apologetic. I understood both sides, so I said to my uncle, "You also run a company and have experienced difficult times. At the most difficult time, you also hoped that your workers could understand and help you. We are also like that. The manager promised to pay me 3,000 Yuan, and she is a person who keeps her word, but I don't need that much." As I said this, in spite of the presence of many people, the manager burst into tears. Afterwards, my uncle called my mother and told her, "You have a good son!" At that moment, I felt Teacher words, "I often say that if a person is free from any personal notions, isn't motivated by his self-interest, and is genuinely looking to benefit others, when he points out another person's shortcomings or tells the other person what's right, that person will be moved to tears." (Falun Buddha Fa Lecture at the Conference in Singapore, August 22nd & 23rd, 1998) When I clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners while in tears, everyone present was also moved to tears -- everything was resolved benevolently. Under the influence of benevolent and righteous elements, the unfavorable elements became less and less and the company's profit rose sharply.

In order to let more fellow practitioners better assist Teacher in Fa-rectification, we held an experience sharing conference in early May. A little more than ten minutes into the conference, the police rushed in to beat and arrest people. We called out, "Suffocate the evil" and rushed outside. Some went out, but some were blocked in the room and arrested. I was injured while escaping.

In the hospital, the doctor took an X-ray. My lumbar vertebrae were fractured, and there were fragments in the spinal cord cavity pinching the nerves. I was paralyzed! In great pain, I was in despair, but my faith in Falun Dafa was a great encouragement. My parents transferred me to another hospital that same night. While in a state of haziness, I saw myself become a blooming lotus flower. The next day, a miracle happened. I no longer felt any pain, and I was very excited. Teacher had endured for me. Although I explained my miraculous recovery to my family, they were filled with concerns. My sister brought in expert after expert and professor after professor to try to convince me to have the surgery. I truly felt that through my genuine cultivation in Dafa, I'm intended to perform acts of benevolence for the sake of others. To be allowed to lie paralyzed in bed while allowing those villains to commit evil freely would be impossible. However, I saw the anguish and pain that this brought upon my family, and I decided to accept the surgery, and four days later, it was done. I was quite unmindful of the pain after the operation, as I always thought that I wouldn't care about this flesh body as long as my heart was faithful to Falun Dafa. However, I was wrong again. Every cell in my body bears my image, so how can I disregard them? If my body is like a small universe, then there must be a war going on between the righteousness and the evil. How can I be irresponsible to all these righteous elements in the cosmos? I realized the meaning of "joining the mind and body together."

Seven days after the surgery, a sentence in "Lunyu" enlightened me, "The guiding ideology of the present day human science can only be confined to the physical world for its development and research. It follows such a way that a subject will not be studied until it is recognized." Isn't what the professors have learned, studied and used to "cure" me just such a way? The broad and profound Falun Dafa is not something the present day human science can cover, and the miracles of Falun Dafa cannot possibly be explained by human science. I realized that Falun Dafa is incomparably supernormal! I wanted to stand up!

After everyone fell asleep, I rolled over with difficulty to the edge of the bed and used my hands to support my body, trying to stand up. At first, human thoughts assailed me, "The lumbar vertebrae was fractured, and it's only being held together by steel plates. What if..." Then, I made up my mind, put forth my strength--ah! I sat up! I was enlightened that if you can let go of life and death, you're a divine being! If you can't let go of life and death, you're a human.

During the course of my being injured, having surgery, and standing up, the busiest people were the ones in my village. From the moment I fell and became injured, the rumor already spread very far that I was paralyzed for practicing Falun Gong. However, just several days after I left the hospital, I walked around everywhere, and the news got passed around again. While people were still not sure what was happening, I went around everywhere riding a bicycle. While the villagers were talking about Falun Gong with great relish, I was already going to work. The Buddha Fa is perfect and harmonizing. I had always been away and did not promote Falun Dafa to the people in the village. This time, however, they truly saw the miracle and reality of the Buddha Fa.

At the Dalian City Fashion Show in September, my company held a segment introducing new designs, and I was the chief designer. I invited the professor who performed my surgery and also sent invitation cards to the nurses, who had been against Falun Dafa. They were surprised at the speed of my recovery and began to understand Falun Dafa positively. After the fashion show, the professor held my hands tightly, his excited expression telling me, "What you possess is not only willpower, but also wisdom!"

In the evening of New Year's Day, during the festival of the family reunion, another practitioner and I biked over five hills to come to a remote village, our hearts filled with compassion: "We have come, Falun Dafa has come!" The divine side was unusually clear-headed. Our trip was not polluted by selfish thoughts, but only to offer salvation to the people and completely eradicate all evil! The village was big; there were tier upon tier of homes. Our righteous thoughts were very powerful, and any attempt to prevent people from learning the truth was in vain! On our way to finishing our work, a villager blocked my way and stared at me with evil intentions. "Let all of this be resolved benevolently!" I told him with compassion, "Uncle (a term of respect for an older generation, rather than the American slang for asking for mercy), please don't be afraid, I am not a thief, and I am not robber. I cultivate Falun Dafa. We are so unjustly treated -- already more than 300 fellow practitioners have been beaten to death nationwide. I come here to bring the truth to all of you." He took the flyer and read quietly under the moonlight. Another life may have been saved after learning the truth. When I turned around, I could no longer control myself and cried. Respected Teacher! You are incomparably great and benevolent!

On January 9, 2002, the solemn and sacred "Dalian City Falun Dafa Day" was established, symbolizing that the Jiang regime's evil would become known in the world, and good and evil would be made clear! The truth is eternal and everlasting!

Some Understandings of Fa-Rectification Cultivation

How should we understand Fa-rectification cultivation? How should we understand and handle the relationship between self-cultivation and Fa-rectification? Several of our practitioners have shared experiences, and the following is what we have enlightened to. Please point out anything that may be inappropriate.

Recently, many tribulations were encountered whenever we worked on a Fa-rectification project. We clearly knew that the old forces contributed to the interference, but our opinions differed with regards to how we viewed and handled the situation as Fa-rectification disciples.

Some practitioners believed that we should strive forward and cultivate ourselves solidly to improve our xinxing, because in those tribulations, the evil would not have interfered if we had kept up with the requirements of the Fa. The other practitioners quoted Teacher's words, "I can tell you that all the suffering and tribulations endured by our Dafa disciples is not only aimed at their own cultivation--it's also due to high-level beings testing Dafa using students' karma, using 'improving them' as an excuse, and using the persecution that's being carried out by degenerate beings at low levels. In fact, all of these have harmed the Fa-rectification" (from "Speech by Master Li Hongzhi at the Western US Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference of Falun Dafa"). These practitioners believed that it would be just like giving the evil an excuse for interfering with and undermining the Fa, and we wouldn't be able to completely deny the evil's arrangement, if we took improving our xinxing as a prerequisite for safeguarding the Fa.

Through sharing our thoughts, we came to realize that as Falun Dafa disciples, there shouldn't be any prerequisite for us to rectify the Fa and to clarify the truth when we eliminate the old forces' arrangement. Though we are still in the process of cultivation and though we still have all kinds of human thoughts and attachments, we need to eliminate the human notions during the process of assisting Teacher to rectify the Fa. As Teacher said,

"Over the course of prehistory, everything of yours was being created, all along, according to how magnificent the disciples would be in the Fa-rectification period. So, it was arranged that when you reach the standard for ordinary Consummation, you still have, in the human world, all kinds of ordinary human thoughts and karma. The purpose is so that while doing Fa-rectification things, you clarify the truth, whereby you all bring in, for the consummation of your paradises, beings that can be saved. As you consummate your own paradises you are, at the same time, eliminating your last karma, gradually getting rid of your human thoughts, and truly stepping forward from humanness"("Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples").

Teacher also said, "Consummation is the conclusion of a Dafa disciple's cultivation, while Fa-rectification is a Dafa disciple's mission. For a Dafa disciple, Consummation is only a matter of the time of his return, whereas Fa-rectification is to be left for the future" ("What Are Supernormal Abilities"). Thus, it is important to realize that we are the beings created for rectifying the Fa, and as such are different from any other forms of lives. We will consummate everything of ours during the Fa-rectification process.

Some time ago, I had a "karma-elimination" experience. I knew that it was the evil's interference because I was unable to truly practice the exercises. I would get a little better after sending forth righteous thoughts; however, I did not feel sure whether Teacher arranged any part of it. It seemed to me that Teacher wouldn't eliminate a Fa-rectification disciple's karma in such a way. Wouldn't the evil would take advantage of me and interfere with me endlessly if I accepted this as "karma-elimination." How could I allow it? However, another thought came to me. If it really were arranged by Teacher to eliminate my karma, how would the karma be eliminated if I didn't allow it? Because I didn't have a clear understanding, my righteous thoughts were not so powerful. So I still suffered the pain in my legs. After studying the Fa, I gradually came to realize that my understanding of this matter was still based on self-cultivation. I was still attached to my own loss and gain. It was the selfish heart that made me confused. Teacher said, "As Dafa disciples, under the current circumstances, you should clarify the truth to the world's people and expose the evil, and thus safeguard the Fa. Your own improvement and consummation will be along this process" ("Suggestion," draft translation, subject to further improvement). I soon learned that Teacher used this matter to make me further understand what Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples really are and how we should totally deny the old evil forces' arrangement. When I finally enlightened to this, I felt that my righteous thoughts became so powerful that nothing could stand in their way. Of course, the "karma-elimination" was gone by the next morning.

During our study, we discussed Teacher's words, "I completely don't acknowledge this evil test arranged by the old forces" ("Suggestion", draft translation subject to further improvement), and "That's why I said before that I turned the tables and made use of the old forces' arrangement" ("Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, DC International Conference"). Are these two statements contradictory? Our understanding is, No. Teacher said, "Most fundamentally, you all still need to establish your great mighty virtue in the process of eliminating the old forces' persecution, and return to your highest positions" ("Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples"). "Clarifying the truth isn't a simple matter--it's not only a matter of exposing the evil. When we clarify the truth, we are saving sentient beings, and at the same time it involves the matter of your own improvement and your elimination of attachments during your cultivation, and the matter of Dafa disciples being responsible to the Fa in their cultivation, as well as issues like how you fill and enrich that paradise of yours in your final Consummation" (from Teacher's "Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, DC International Conference").

We think that as Fa-rectification disciples, all the things that happen in our cultivation and our future Consummation are actually based on eliminating the old evil forces' arrangements. The only reason that the old evil forces' arrangements are allowed to exist is so that during the process of eliminating them we can be established as Dafa disciples.

Then does it mean that by not acknowledging the evil's arrangement, we can slack off and there is no need to look within? It is not the case. Teacher said, "Because in Fa-rectification every stage is a trial, a test, being left for different situations in different future periods of history, this is a magnificent Fa being left for the history of the cosmos" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference"). As Falun Dafa disciples, we must be the most righteous. We must assimilate to "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance." We must be pure so that we can send forth the most powerful righteous thoughts. So we need to be strict with ourselves and not relax the requirements for Fa-rectification disciples. We must take the Fa as Teacher to purify ourselves, for only by doing so can we fulfill our responsibilities as Fa-rectification disciples.

A few days ago, the attachment of fear surfaced in some trivial matters. I thought that I should not have acknowledged it; however, I felt that the evil still existed there. Later, I realized that I am composed of Truth, Compassion and Tolerance. The fear was not mine. Then when I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the fear, everything changed. Without cultivating ourselves solidly, the evil will not be completely eliminated and will continue to exist in other dimensions.

For Fa-rectification disciples, everything must be based on Fa-rectification.

Rectify Our Understanding of Fa Study and Rectify Ourselves with Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently my mind was unable to calm down when doing the exercises, and I found myself always thinking about how to go out to validate the Fa and how to clarify the truth to people. In addition, I thought of other things while reading Dafa books. It went so far that when I read Dafa books, I could not keep from yawning. I realized that I was not in a correct state and that I should look within, but because I did not find the fundamental cause of the problem, nothing was resolved. When sharing this with other practitioners, I found they were experiencing similar problems to various degrees. Some suggested that it was due to the evil interference and could be eliminated by sending forth righteous thoughts, so I started to send forth righteous thoughts to clear out the interference. The result was that although the problems became less serious, they were still there. What was the real cause? I was still not clear.

After I studied Teacher's "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.," I felt that Teacher clearly pointed out the attitude problem I had towards Fa-study: "When your eyes read the Fa and yet your mind isn't on the Fa, think about it, aren't you reading in vain? Who are you reading for? You yourself aren't really studying the Fa, then. Haven't I told you to make sure that you yourself truly obtain gong? Then if your mind isn't on the Fa when you're studying the Fa, who are you studying it for? This isn't to criticize you--I'm just telling you that this is a really critical situation."

Straight away I saw the cause of my problems. I knew that every time when Teacher gave a Fa lecture, Teacher always told us to read the book and study the Fa more. I knew the importance of Fa-study and had treated it as a compulsory daily activity. I would extend the time for Fa-study every day, and gradually I began to see it as a task to accomplish. I considered the amount of time I spent reading each day as Fa study, and ignored whether or not I was understanding the Fa. When studying the Fa, my mind was set on doing other things, and I would pick up the book and read either to the time or the amount of pages I had set for Fa-study. While reading the book, my main consciousness was not focused and I was rather lax with myself. This omission was intensified and amplified by the evil. I failed to do what Teacher required, "So, no matter how busy you get, when you study the Fa you have to set aside all other thoughts--don't think about other things at all, just study the Fa." I realized that I was already unwittingly misled to a dangerous state, and separated from the Fa.

Teacher pointed out the serious consequences of my deviating from the Fa and taught me how to solve this problem. Dafa is a serious matter. How can we allow ourselves to study the Fa in such a careless and perfunctory manner?

We are cultivating in the process of Fa-rectification and continuously elevating towards the more microscopic. Why is it that we experience such a state in this period of time? And why is it so hard to break through? Through the study of Teacher's "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A." I suddenly understood that our Fa-rectification cultivation was moving towards the more microscopic, and the more microscopic the matter, the more extensive its celestial scope--and the fundamental cause of our obstruction lies therein.

"...the evil in the dimensions that you are supposed to shoulder and be responsible for has not been eliminated. That's the cause." If the evils are not eliminated, they will persecute you and resist you. They were the cause of the state I was in and I must rectify them with the Fa. So I said with righteous thoughts, "I am a Fa-rectification disciple. The new universe is formed entirely with the principles of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.' You are the more microscopic beings in my system, and my system is also a new system formed with the universal principles. The systems in the new universe must also be pure. If you refuse to assimilate to the universal principles and continue to interfere with my Fa-study and Fa-rectification, and if you refuse to change your existing concepts to assimilate to the characteristics of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance' and refuse to recognize that the universal principles are the most righteous Fa, then I will not allow you to exist in my system. You have come a long way, and I have over and over again given you opportunities to improve your understanding. However, my forbearance has its limit and I must be responsible to the righteous factors in the universe. If you continue to stick to your wrong course, I will not violate the universal principles and act wrongly out of personal considerations. You have three options: 1. Be eliminated in Fa-rectification; 2. Reposition yourselves; 3. Assimilate to the Fa where you are. I do not wish you to take the first option and hope you will choose the third option--assimilating to the Fa where you are. I hope you will assist me in consummation and Fa-rectification rather than creating obstructions and hindering me from Fa-rectification in this human world." While I was sending forth this thought, I felt the cold, black microscopic matter in every pore in my body disappearing at a rapid speed, and my mind felt clear and calm.

I'm sharing this bit of my experience with everyone, which has also helped consolidate my clear understanding at the same time.

The Deviation of Wealth

(Clearwisdom.net) A Dafa practitioner works as a salesperson in a retail store. She is also the backbone for the local Dafa work and has sacrificed a lot for Dafa. However, the sales of the store were very poor and often the paychecks were delayed. Later, she herself opened a small store for the needs of Dafa work, but business conditions were still very tough. Practicing Dafa is a blessing. The goodness of Dafa is being expressed to the world through Dafa practitioners. Now that she could not even get paid, how would everyday people look at Dafa practitioners? We need to harmonize the Fa at the level of everyday people and need money to prepare truth-clarifying materials. The practitioner told me her confusion and doubt and expressed that she did not find that she had any attachment to wealth. I pointed out that this was the persecution from the vicious old forces and she was forbearing it passively.

The vicious forces have come to a dead end; however, they are not prepared to accept defeat. They desperately try to find all kinds of opportunities, places, different levels and environments to persecute Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Since we do not understand the Fa fully, we sometimes cannot immediately distinguish and recognize the evil and allow it to take advantage of loopholes in our minds to persecute us. In order to control practitioners who have left home and become destitute, the old forces have made use of their sentimentality. They have used their anxiety to disperse Dafa disciples. Those who work very hard at home for Dafa experience the old forces' making use of poor financial situations to persecute Dafa practitioners. Inside forced-labor camps they release 'mange insects' to torture Dafa practitioners, along with many other means. There are also laziness, the human world's pursuit of comfort and many other methods of interference and persecution by deviated beings that persecute Dafa practitioners. They have created conflicts and difficult situations for practitioners during their Fa rectification cultivation. Their aim is to interfere with and even stop the course of Fa rectification.

I have recently realized that "wealth" is a totally deviated being. It favors the unrighteous and looks down upon Dafa practitioners. If you take a look inside China, the corrupt officials who have consumed the flesh and blood of the people have become extremely wealthy. The dishonest are lucky with money and Dafa practitioners who practice "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," the law of the universe, are facing difficult situations. Practitioners are being discharged from their jobs, their names are removed from payrolls and their savings are extorted from them. Practitioners' houses are being ransacked and many other forms of persecution are taking place. Many workplaces are afraid to employ Dafa practitioners. Many Dafa practitioners have become homeless after going to Beijing to appeal and no longer even have enough to eat. The ruffians and vicious police indulge themselves, lavishly spending money taken from Dafa practitioners. "Wealth" has been in the forefront during the persecution by the old forces, and as a result, Fa-rectification disciples have endured unnecessary persecution.

Israeli Practitioners Peacefully Appeal Outside Chinese Embassy in Tel Aviv

To protest the suppression and persecution of Falun Gong by the Jiang regime which, in the name of Chinese government, has killed 360 practitioners, arrested 100,000 and detained 20,000 in forced labor camps in the past two and a half years, Israeli practitioners came to the Chinese embassy in Tel Aviv every day from 5 to 10 p.m. to stand silently or demonstrate Dafa exercises in hopes of awakening the consciences of embassy staff members and to convey the following message of overseas Falun Gong practitioners:

Stop the persecution of Falun Gong
Release innocent Falun Gong practitioners jailed or detained in labor camps and mental hospitals
Restore the reputation of Falun Dafa and Master Li

In addition, practitioners strongly demanded the release of Xiong Wei, the sister of Israeli practitioner Xiong Zhiyuan. Ms. Xiong has been illegally held in Beijing's Haidian Detention Center for 30 days.

Taiwan: The Second Session of "Tainan Falun Gong Study and Practice Camp During Winter Vacation for School Teachers" Ends Successfully

After the "Tainan Winter Vacation Falun Gong Study and Practice Camp for Teachers" was held in Yongkang Primary School from January 21 to 25, the second session was held in Xintai Primary School between January 28 and February 1. The study camp was organized by the Falun Dafa Association under the direction of the Tainan City Department of Education. One hundred and sixty teachers, including three principals from Tainan County, attended the camp.

Many of the schoolteachers who attended this session had heard that Falun Dafa is very good and thus they chose to attend the study camp. The principal of Xintai Primary School gave his wholehearted support to this event. The school is newly founded. The environment was very good, however the audiovisual classroom had not yet been set up. There was only a large classroom without video equipment, chairs or curtains. The principal managed to have the curtains installed and borrowed chairs to make the study camp run smoothly.

Director Wang of the Tainan County Department of Education shares his cultivation experience

The content of the study camp consisted mainly of Master Li's Lectures in Guangzhou as well as teaching Dafa exercises and clarifying the truth. During the study camp, practitioners were invited to share their experiences. Director Wang of the Tainan County Department of Education was invited to relate his experiences. He mentioned he had heard of Falun Gong a long time ago and his sister, who had been practicing for quite some time, invited him to join. However, because of his busy schedule he did not start practicing Falun Gong until two month ago. Now he reads Zhuan Falun every day, at least one lecture a day. He has read it over a dozen times. He said since high school he has had serious nasal allergies. For over twenty years he suffered from a stuffy nose and had difficulty breathing. Like magic, his nasal allergies have disappeared and he has enjoyed normal breathing since he attended the nine-day seminar and started reading Zhuan Falun every day. He also mentioned that cultivating xinxing is as important as studying the Fa. He hoped the schoolteachers could encourage their students all the time to do everything according to the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in everyday life to elevate their moral standard and become well educated.

Tainan County Commissioner: Good afternoon, fellow practitioners

On the afternoon of February 1, the Tainan County Commissioner came to the study camp. His coming was a sign of support and affirmation from the government. Commissioner Su Huanzhi opened his speech with, "Good afternoon, fellow practitioners." He said this because he had read Zhuan Falun and learned the five sets of exercises. He said Falun Gong is spreading near and far at a very fast speed and has become the standard by which to evaluate the Chinese government's commitment to human rights. The world is watching to see how China's government deals with the Falun Gong issue. It is a big test to determine whether or not China is working towards real democracy. He expected everyone to practice diligently and make the society more peaceful, and the people more healthy. Mr. Su said because the election had just ended and he had just started his job, he has been quite busy; but soon he would find time to study and cultivate together with practitioners.

The study camp ended successfully. The organizers believe that the schoolteachers benefited from their study and expect them to persevere in cultivation, tell the truth to people, awaken the people, and help more people attain the Fa. Practitioners also credited Master Li's benevolence for making the study camp a huge success.

Some Short Stories of Spreading Dafa from Greece

A while ago when I was going to Athens to do some truth-clarifying, the connecting train was late and I found myself sitting in a waiting hall with about 25 people. Not many Greek people travel on the ordinary trains as they are very old and in bad shape. So the hall was filled with mostly poor immigrants who have come to Greece to work. There were only three Greeks except for me waiting. As I was sitting besides a Greek lady I started talking to her about Falun Dafa. She was shocked to hear about the persecution, and she had a loud voice that made all the people in the hall listen. I took up a file with pictures about Falun Dafa and the persecution from my bag and many people came to watch. Not until then did I realize why the train was late. Before the train arrived I had showed them all my pictures, introduced Falun Dafa to every one, told them about the persecution and showed them the first exercise. Two of them, an Albanian and a Nigerian, wanted to learn the exercises on the spot, so I instructed them. The train arrived after 1 a.m. instead of 10:30 p.m.

When I arrived at my coupe an elderly couple was sleeping across the seats. I sat at the end of the woman's feet. After a few hours when the lady woke up, she lit a cigarette, although a sign clearly stated that smoking was not allowed. Before I started practicing Falun Dafa, I was somewhat sensitive to cigarette smoke, especially in small rooms without ventilation. I thought I had let go of that, but now I found myself worrying about how I was going to make the 7-8 hour trip with my companions. I told the woman politely that smoking was not allowed. Without looking at me she said rudely with a loud voice: "Hey, what can I do," and continued smoking as if nothing had happened. I thought that I had failed the test. After a while I gave her a flyer. After reading it through she said: "This is very good." Soon after, when she was going to light another cigarette, she went out of the coupe to smoke. That is how fast Dafa can change someone. She had only read a flyer.

Another time, when I was going to Athens by bus I met a couple who live in the Czech Republic. He was from the US, and she was from Japan. I introduced Dafa to them and they were very interested. She read out loud from a Chinese flyer and Zhuan Falun. The bus was going to stop for 20 minutes where they where going to get off, so I also got off, and we practiced together. We exchanged email addresses. They were traveling through Greece and Italy. They exchanged email addresses with friends they made on the trip and are sending us collective emails about their trip. In a recent email they wrote: "We also remember our teacher who taught that life consists of three things: truth, compassion, and forbearance, and these three things, not material pursuits, are the keys to spiritual happiness and growth."

A couple of days ago when my wife and I were practicing in the park in the nearby town, we suddenly heard a lot of loud voices. I thought, "Teacher is bringing people to us." When we opened our eyes we saw about 30 schoolchildren and four teachers standing in front of us watching. They were very interested to hear about what we were doing, and after we told them, they wanted to try the exercises. We did the first one together while one of the teachers filmed me giving instructions. In this way, they can continue at school. They thought it would help the children to calm down. They all took a flier before they left.

They will clarify the truth, save the people deceived by lies and redouble their efforts to make up for the loss they have caused to Dafa in order to not let Teacher down.

The bloody atrocities of the evil police in Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp

In April 2001, the second team of the Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp purchased more clubs and electric batons with which to beat the illegally abducted Falun Dafa practitioners. The guards used the electric batons to hit the most sensitive parts of their bodies and almost every practitioner was severely beaten. Some practitioners' were buckled to a bed by their hands and feet in order to restrain them. They were beaten for more than three hours continuously.

A Falun Dafa practitioner in jail talked about his own experience of being cruelly tortured. On November 1, I was arrested by the evil policeman Jin Longji from Badao Police Station for clarifying the truth. He beat me so hard that blood filled my mouth and my teeth were knocked out. The policeman claimed, "I will not take any responsibility if I beat you to death, your death will not even be noticed." I was illegally detained for three days in Longjing City Public Security Bureau and was not allowed to eat or use the restroom. I had injuries all over my body from the cruel torture and was later sent to a detention center.

The illegally detained Falun Dafa practitioners in Jiutai Forced Labor Camp sent an appeal letter to the central office exposing the guards in the forced labor camp for cruelly torturing the Falun Dafa practitioners. They asked the law-enforcement officers to enforce the law justly and severely punish the criminals.

Authorities in the Shengli Oil Field Electricity Co. built a private prison and secretly held a brainwashing class. They illegally kidnap and detain practitioners for long periods of time and watch them 24 hours a day. The guards deprive practitioners of sleep and force them to stand all the time. These hired overseers curse and beat the practitioners whenever they want. Some practitioners' heads bled from the beatings and some were pushed into a car and beaten. A 70-year-old practitioner was illegally detained for over 100 days and this individual lost 66 lbs.

Just before the New Year's Day, every night around midnight, the police from Ningjin County Police Department in Hebei Province climbed over practitioners' walls, broke into their homes and illegally searched and kidnapped several practitioners. These police officers also illegally detained and forcibly sent practitioners to brainwashing classes. The officers even shamelessly claimed, "the ruling Party is just this wicked." Many practitioners were forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution.

Exposing the persecution of practitioners at the hands of Tuchengzi Township Police Station in Changyi District of Jilin City, Jilin Province: On December 28, 2001, four practitioners were robbed and arrested by police officers because they went to visit practitioner Zhao Daili. Zhao was recently released from illegal forced labor. Zhao was again detained, and his 14-year-old daughter was illegally sent to a brainwashing class with her mother for 27 days. The daughter was forced to quit school because she refused to sign a guarantee statement that "promised" that she would relinquish Dafa practice.

Lawless officials in Sichuan Province closely followed the country's ruling dictator's orders to persecute Falun Gong. Practitioner Xue Zhen, a 68-year-old individual, was tortured to death at the Maojiashan Forced Labor Camp. Government officials' brutality brought disasters upon the local people. On New Year's Day, thick fog surrounded Chengdu City and all air traffic was halted. On January 17, a traffic accident took place in Ningnan County, resulting in 9 deaths and 6 injuries. On January 25, twenty-four cars crashed on the highway from Chengdu to Mianyang, resulting in 2 deaths and 11 injuries.

The four evil policemen in a forced labor camp who had beaten and injured Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested and will be sentenced to jail. One of them is the team leader whose last name is Han. Han has already been dismissed from his post and the head of the disciplinary inspection department was arrested and sent to jail.

The teachers Chen Zhiheng and Li Yuesheng from Longtan District Elementary School of Jilin City received evil retribution for following the orders of the higher authorities in participating in the persecution of Falun Dafa. Chen Zhiheng was hit while riding a motorcycle and had two operations. Li Yuesheng was diagnosed as having tuberculosis in the second half of the year and stopped working in order to take care of himself.

A letter to the policewoman Miss Zhang in Shengli Police Station in Daqing City: You went to an elementary school to teach the students to report anyone posting Falun Gong flyers to the police. This is such a big crime, because you deceived and led the simple and innocent children to the evil road of ruin. You made use of the innocence of children and led them to do evil things unknowingly. Can the people who instigated you to do evil deeds guarantee your eternal life?

Because I participated in the April 25, 1999 appeal, two to four policemen tried to brainwash me everyday. In October 1999, I was illegally sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp in Liaoning Province for three years of labor 're-education." I was in a terrible situation for a long time. Due to the way those in the labor camp persecuted me both mentally and physically my health deteriorated twice. On May 30, 2001, I was sent there again. I overcame huge hardships and currently I have been forced to become homeless in order to avoid further persecution.

Short Stories about Fa-Rectification

On New Year's Day of 2002 one younger practitioner and his mom saw a policeman dragging Falun Gong practitioners away. He went to the policeman and asked: "How do we get to Yueyawan?" The policeman was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the mom and her son. At this time the two practitioners under interrogation joined the stream of people.

Little Zhao always worried about having to collect heating fees from his customers. One day Ms Liu gave him a VCD about the truth of Falun Gong after paying her bill, and told him: "I am a Falun Gong practitioner." Zhao said: "Thank you! It seems that the more people that practice Falun Gong, the better things become. I won't be worried anymore about collecting heating fees."

The boss of one beauty salon said: "I really respect Falun Gong practitioners. They stick to their beliefs even after being beaten and arrested." One customer said: "Those who sent the materials are so brave. I saw two people standing at the street corners handing out materials." Wang continued to clarify the truth about the "Self-Immolation on Tiananmen," and about other issues. People in the room all said: "It turns out that CCTV lies to people!"
