Summary of News from Mainland China

Today, two hundred and eleven people solemnly declared the statements they have said and wrote that do not meet the standards of Dafa under the persecution and pressure of the evil forces were null and void. They declared their solemn declarations to be vows to Master Li again, and they will cherish it with their lives. They will follow Teacher closely and choose their path well. They will redouble their efforts to make up for the damage they have caused to Dafa and fulfill their pledge.

We exposed 63 cases of practitioners from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province who have been illegally detained, sentenced to labor camp, tortured, brainwashed, extorted, and taken from home by force.

I was tortured in Hewan Labor Camp, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. The guards forced me to watch TV programs slandering Dafa. They also forced the inmates to read the slanderous articles. They put me in a controlled room away from other people and tormented me constantly. They ordered inmates to monitor me and denied me sleep for 24 hours. I was also forced to perform heavy work for long periods of time. My hands and arms are deformed from the torture, and I cannot lift them over my shoulders.

At 8 a.m. on December 29, 2001, Jiang Fan, a practitioner in Shijiazhuang City, was kidnapped right after his night shift by officials from his work unit and sent to Hebei Province Brainwashing Center. He held a nine-day hunger strike and was force-fed. Even after tremendous suffering, Jiang Fan still persevered and continued to practice. His mother was also kidnapped to a brainwashing class by thugs from her workplace in early June of last year.

The persecution suffered by a practitioner in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province: On July 29, 2001, seven or eight policemen broke into my home, kicked me to the ground and began looting my home. I was kidnapped and sent to Section 1 of the city police department. A malicious policeman named Wang Xinyi poked my body with a hard wooden stick from my armpits to my private parts. Later, I was transferred to No. 1 Detention Center in Changzhou City to be further tortured.

Abnormal weather changes in Xinjiang Autonomous Region: Beginning on the 14th, heavy snowfall covered the Takla Magan Desert. This is an unprecedented occurrence.

Cultivation Stories

Around 8 p.m. on December 28, 2001, the police kidnapped a fellow practitioner (who was not living at home to avoid being arrested), my wife, and me from our home. A policeman handcuffed me to an iron chair in the police station. At around 2 a.m., I sent forth righteous thoughts and eliminated the evil. I then stood up from the chair. The fellow practitioner then woke up and found the keys. We thus walked out of the police station.

Together with 5 other practitioners, I went to a rural area to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Some villagers surrounded us. We clarified the truth of Dafa to them righteously, telling them that "Good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with evil," and supporting Dafa will bring them blessings. A young man who originally wanted to report us changed his mind. Shortly after we left, a villager caught up with us on a bike and wanted to learn Falun Gong from us.

Saving people with predestined relationships using Internet chat rooms (continued): I met a college student from Shandong University in a chat room. I told him that the moment I heard about Shandong Province, I became very sad. I sent him some stories of practitioners being persecuted in Shandong Province, including the one in which Wang Lixuan and her baby son were tortured to death. Later on, the student brought several of his friends and listened to me as I clarified the truth of Falun Gong to them.

Let's All Talk

Why do we need to distribute the flyers? Because we have benefited from Dafa. A person needs to be moral, and one should not cheat, lie or do things against one's conscience. Otherwise one would not be trustworthy even as an ordinary person. Facing the lies and deception of those in power, who would know the truth if we do not clarify it? Would the whole world not be chaotic if there was only evil and no righteousness?

The more they tried to explain it, the worse it got for them in the follow-up reports on the self-immolation incident in the "Focus Talks" program on TV. Why did Liu Chunling get hit on the head and fall immediately when she caught fire and started to run? Why were the victims' burnt areas not exposed in order to speed up healing? Instead, they were wrapped tightly. The program did not dare to explain many puzzling questions, but continued to cover up with more lies. They did not realize that the more you lie, the bigger your holes become.
