Letter to the Chinese Ambassador

Mr Ambassador

My name is ... ... I have been a practitioner of Falun Dafa for over 3 years. Throughout this time I have met with many practitioners here in Australia and from overseas, knowing them only to be good people, each closely abiding to the principles of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance). By embracing these fundamental and virtuous qualities and applying them to our everyday lives, we are becoming not only more thoughtful and caring individuals but better citizens within our greater community.

It is difficult to understand why your government seems to feel so threatened by a peaceful, innocent group of people, who remain diligent towards improving their health and wellbeing and developing a more noble heart and mind. There remains no intention from any Falun Dafa practitioners to ever challenge or undermine the current government of China. Yet, your President Jiang Zemin continues to enforce a brutal persecution against many millions of people, thus challenging any social and economic stability. It seems such a vehement retaliation towards a practice promoting peace and true virtue!

This campaign, viciously orchestrated over the last 20 months, proves to be nothing short of a national disaster akin to the years of the Cultural Revolution. These actions, if directed against only one person here in Australia would clearly be regarded as abhorrent. Such physical, psychological, and sexual abuses have resulted in over 180 lives already being lost! Yet, when unleashed upon an entire country these violations meet with much support for "upholding" national security. This "golden age" of human rights would seem no more than a stain upon any truly civilized society fostering tolerance, freedom of expression, and vigilance towards safeguarding the rights of all individuals.

When studying the many testimonies of practitioners who have been incarcerated and tortured inside China's labour camps or "wellness centres," one becomes increasingly aware of these senseless crimes, and the means by which many "re-education" strategies have been implemented to maintain and reinstate Jiang Zemin's political rule.

This darkness, no matter how encompassing, can never quell the light of a compassionate heart! Like a grey cloud against the sky, the sun comes to shine again, illuminating every shadow. This relentless crackdown will soon pass. The truth is already dawning, and all such evils shall be exposed for more kind-hearted people and nations to witness.

These crimes, in fact, will weigh heavily upon China's conscience, including the hearts of all who now condone such violence, whether through direct persecution, or even in their acts of silence. The laws of consequence measure all transgressions and justice always has its day!

Any attempts at diminishing the purest gold that is Falun Dafa only further substantiates its lustre within practitioner's hearts, and quite boldly supports the dissemination and the establishing of its exercise and principles throughout the world. This opposition only forges our unshakeable conviction of the laws that govern the foundations of life.

Please explore the humanity within your own heart to awaken to these wrongdoings. Place yourself for a moment on the receiving end of this violent persecution. Imagine being arrested and brutally beaten, dismissed from your position and workplace, fined and imprisoned, psychologically abused and forcefully administered with drugs, all for upholding such harmless beliefs! How might you feel if this were happening to your own family? Your children would be ridiculed and expelled from school, prevented from receiving the education most essential for their development. I urge you to ponder! The world's awareness of these inhumanities continues to spread by the hour and can only meet with ever increasing opposition.

Our ongoing and peaceful appeal raises its voice not only for those suffering within your own country, but also extends beyond China's boundaries to stand up for the right and freedom to express one's spiritual beliefs within every nation, indeed every heart and mind. Without embracing these basic, yet profound principles, can we ever truly deem ourselves as human beings? Zhen, Shan, Ren will always remain the very essence of an enlightened human civilization. Amidst this current mire, the magnificence that is Falun Dafa will shine!

As a representative of China I implore you to please consider your position and to support the ending of this brutality against so many peaceful and innocent people, for the sake of China's future, human kind, and your own sense of humanity.
