(Minghui.org) After a gas leak explosion that occurred in Langfang City, Hebei Province, on March 13, 2024, many people were injured and some died. A four-story building burned and collapsed, but Guo, a young man who lived in that building, miraculously survived.
According to a video circulated on the internet, Guo went out jogging and returned a little after 7 a.m. On the way, he met an elderly woman who carried many things. When the woman asked if Guo could help her carry them, he agreed. Upon returning, he saw the collapsed building after the explosion. Guo felt fortunate to survive the disaster by helping the woman.
Many netizens left comments on the video and some comments received over 10,000 likes on the same day.
“When a person does good deeds, disasters leave before blessings arrive; when a person commits bad deeds, blessings leave before disasters arrive.” This comment received 53,053 likes.
“It appears the elderly woman saved Guo; in reality, his kindness saved himself.” This comment received 43,149 likes.
“This young man was blessed because helping others will eventually help oneself.” This comment received 12,590 likes.
“The divine sent the woman to save Guo; nothing is accidental.” This comment received 10,617 likes.
In the video, Guo said there were also some other young people nearby. But the woman said to him, “Do not look at others; I want you to help me.” Netizens believed the woman knew Guo was a nice person and wanted to save him.
“Guo is indeed a nice person; had he refused to help the woman, he could have died already.” This comment also received over 10,000 likes.
There were many comments such as “Just focus on doing good deeds instead of worrying about the future.” “Good is rewarded with good.”
Some netizens also shared similar stories. Surprisingly, there were no negative comments, which is rare for online posts these days. All comments seemed to have one theme, “It is so good to be a nice person.”
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) took power several decades ago, it targeted traditional values during a series of political campaigns. The persecution of Falun Dafa in 1999 further pushed people away from the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. In a society where morality is one of quick decline, such kind acts and positive feedback are really encouraging.
In fact, this may not be accidental. Despite the systematic destruction of traditional values by the CCP, many people still cherish kindness and follow their conscience. One example is tens of millions of Falun Dafa practitioners who still live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. As more and more people are severing their ties with the CCP and embracing uprightness, our society will one day return to the kind place it once was.
